Re: Equium A210-1AS - Blue screen and can't start it

My computer was working fine, i shut it down, the next time i start up it shows the windows loading screen, then for a second a blue screen flashes by, it restarts and repeats, i shut it down and started tapping F8 untill the advanced boot options comes up, safemode ect... none of them work and all lead to the blue screen, if i select the repair option at the top "Repair Your Computer" it begins to load with a vista background and cursor and then shows the error "The installed program cannot start. click OK to turn off the computer."
in Advanced Boot Options i try "Disable automatic restart on system failure" and the blue screen stays up so i can see it, it shows a usual blue screen error, reading:
UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME
STOP: 0X000000ED (0X85DDA600, 0XC000009C, 0X0000000, 0X0000000)
I do not have a recovery CD as i believe there is a recovery partition, but i don't know how to access this-
I am using Equium A210-1AS
Part Number : PSAFJE-005005KS
Windows vista 32bit
Thanks,
I know know the recovery partition is accessed theough "Repare your computer" but just shows "The installed program cannot start. click OK to turn off the computer." :/

Hello
In my opinion the case is clear: If you cant start the HDDrecovery feature (btw, its not a recovery partition!!!) using Repair my Computer option, you need the Toshiba recovery disk to reinstall it and get factory settings back.
Im wondering that you dont have a recovery disk. You didnt create it? So you didnt read the user manual but this should always be done before you do something with computers.
Anyway, you can order a new recovery disk here:

  • Won't wake up from sleep, sometimes get blue screen and can't get it to wor

I have two problems that may be related. I am using a PowerBook G4 (Tiger 10.4.5). Sometimes when I turn it on I get a blue screen and that's it. Nothing else will come up. I have to do a forced shut down and then restart it with the shift key depressed and run repair disk permissions and then it works okay till the next time it decides to return to the blue screen (once a day approx.).
Also, sometimes it goes to sleep and will not wake up. I have to shut it down and then restart it (sometimes getting the dreaded blue screen).
This just started happening after I installed Tiger.

Hi, vfv. Welcome to the Discussions.
    1. You wrote: "Sometimes when I turn it on I get a blue screen and that's it. Nothing else will come up. As Adrian suggests, my "Troubleshooting Startup and Login Items" FAQ can help you determine which Startup or Login item is causing the problem.
    2. As to the sleep problem, here are some ideas for you:2.1. If you are using a Bluetooth keyboard or mouse, see "Mac OS X 10.4 Help: My wireless mouse and keyboard won't wake my computer.".
2.2. Your Mac maybe frozen or hung. Troubleshooting freezes and hangs is not unlike troubleshooting kernel panics: the steps are virtually the same. For a more exhaustive troubleshooting procedure, you could use the steps in my "Resolving Kernel Panics" FAQ.Good luck!

  • During installation of Windows 8.1, I get blue screen and can't proceed any further..

I'm trying to install Win 8.1 via Bootcamp 5.1 on my late 2012 3.4 i7 iMac. I'm installing from a Win 8.1 OEM DVD using an optical drive.
The partitioning process is fine, I have the latest windows support software on an MS-DOS (FAT) USB stick.
The install seems to be going fine, then up comes a blue screen (with mouse functionality) but no prompt/warning/error messages.
At this point I have no other option to restart and when I hold down the al key on start up, the Windows partition is not available.
    Any ideas anyone?

It looks like that the installation process of one of the applications have caused some trouble. One of them may have changed or added kext files.
For that, the Window server crashed if you try to open a non Apple application like Firefox
Start the system in safe mode by holding the shift key on power on.
If save mode is reached, perform a permissions repair with the Disk Utility.
Don't bother about upcoming warnings like "could not repair file xy" as that occur cause you use the tool on a running system and opened files can not get touched by the tool.
After repair is done reboot system to normal and try to open Firefox.
If the problem persits, please report back here.

  • IBook alternates between blue screen and freezing up

About a week ago my iBook froze up on me and I had to restart it. Now, sometimes it restarts with just the blue screen and sometimes it starts up normally only to freeze up about 2 minutes into it. I can operate in safe mode but I can't figure out the problem. Suggestions?

Ok guys, I know it's been a while since I initially posted my problem so here's the update. While my iBook operated for a long time in safe mode it eventually began to have the same problem within the day; a temporary reprieve which I used to move my important documents to my iPod for future safe keeping. I signed up for the 5 day tech support and eventually I determined that I needed to send my iBook in for a certified technician to look at. Sure enough, they told me it was a faulty logic board - $680.95 + labor + tax. Since my iBook isn't worth that much anymore I guess it's time for a new computer. The people at Apple said that my iBook was not one of the ones with the defective logic boards they recalled (last year?). So I guess what I'm looking at now is - can I turn in my dead iBook in for some kind of discount when I buy a new one?

  • G4 has blue screen and I still can't get it to login...HELP!

I went to the store and when I returned I had a blue screen with my mouse pointer that could move. I read tons of post on here and tried everything such as resetting PRAM, bought a new battery because like threads said, I too would push the power button and it would flicker and not turn on. I would have to unplug the power cord just to be able to get another try. If I didn't, nothing happened. So then I borrowed my Aunt's Leopard CD she had from her iMac and tried booting off it (holding down the C button) and nothing. I get a message stating that I can't boot off of that disc? After letting it sit for a few hours I was finally able to get past the blue screen and access Disk Utility. I tried repairing the disc (i have 3 plus the backup drive) and I get past that. I then select Verify Disk Permissions and get a "FIRST AID FAILED" Message saying Disk Utility stopped repairing permissions on "HD" because the following error was encountered. The underlying task reported failure on exit. So then I run across a thread saying that it could possibly be a admin user or password problem. I remember just before the blue screen that I was indeed researching on how to lock a folder on my desktop as well as my back up drive. So I followed the instructions and powered it on while holding the apple key + S key and typed in mount -uw /
    rm /car/db/.AppleSetupDone
    shutdown -h now
Now when I turn it on it starts up just like its brand new. However, I can't get past the part where it ask if I want to transfer information from another computer or Hard Drive or do it later with Migration Assistant. I have tried starting it and holding down the C key and nothing happens - I get the gray Apple screen frozen. I have held down the Option Key and restarted and selected both the HD and Start Up Disk which both have a little blue X in the corner if that helps and same results. Before trying to start up using the disc i forgot to mention I tried restarting it pulling each of the RAM drives out and putting them in different locations and that did nothing. And FINALLY! The last restart prior to posting this I have a bunch of lines across the Purple Galaxy Screen that says:
System Failure: cup=0; code=00000001 (Corrupt Stack).
Latest crash info for cpu 0:
    Exception state (sv0x29d85280)
Backtrace terminated - frame not mapped or invalid:
    Any ideas from here?

Whoah boy, lots of things here and I have to make supper...
I'll choose a few at a time. "RAM drives"
RAM drives? Do you mean hard drives? Do you mean RAM chips?
If hard drives, did you put them back in the same order? Multiple hard drives in one machine often need to be jumpered correctly when you move them about.
If chips... It's too difficult at this stage to tell if it is hardware or software. If hardware it could be chips, and that error at the end had a vague chip ring to it. One way to test for chips if you have extra chips is to pull all but the minimum required to boot and see if it boots.
You mention a backup drive. This wouldn't happen to have a clone of the operating system on it would it?
    4 drives... All internal?
From all you've said it could be hardware or software. Blue screen could be software but failing hardware can corrupt a drive, messing up the software.
Boot discs. It sounds like you have no boot discs (CD. DVD) for this computer, right?
What computer are you using right now?

If you try all these Steps and you still have issues... Then a Visit to an Apple Store or AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) is the Next Step... Be sure to make an appointment first...

    Hi,
Have you tried some of these? http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1533
The first things I would try would be to press shift during start up, this will boot into safe mode.
I think you'll need to purchase a copy of Snow Leopard to re-install the OS.
There's another couple of suggestions here; http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1417 where you can boot into single user mode and look at repairing disk permissions if that's the problem.
I would hope that if you could boot into safe mode or single user mode, then that may automatically rectify your current issue. If not, then I'm pretty certain that a fresh install will be the ultimate answer.

  • Update Word and now can't even login! Blue Screen and returns to login!

    Hi,
I'm new to Macs and recently put Word onto it. Went to use it a couple of days ago and it said that it had a critical update for Word. So I clicked yes to update.
    Next thing...it all froze!
Then took me to login screen. Initially I just thought..."Oh it's restarted after update." But when I logged in it accepted password...went to a blue screen and came back to the login.
Now I can't get into my mac!
    Please help...what do I do!!???

There are a couple possibilities. Start out by turning the computer on while holding down the 'Shift' key until you see the grey Apple. This is a safe boot and you can read more about it here. If the computer boots up to the login screen and you can log into your account the problem may be solved. The failed Word update may simply have led to a scrambled cache file that kept the computer from booting.
The other possibility I'd consider is that the update failed due to a disk drive error. If the safe boot doesn't work get out your System disc and restart your computer with it. (Start the computer, hold the 'C' key and insert the System Restore disc. Once it has booted, move to the Utilties menu and select Disk Utility. Perform a repair and if it reports the drive isn't repairable you'll know that's the problem - and we can talk about what to do next.
