Appreciate your support and if possible , how to do this?

If you want to work with Mac OS X, you need one computer per simultaneous user.
What you are describing, " Multiple simultaneous logins to a single computer" is not avialable on a regular Mac of any description, unless you decide to use Unix tools instead of Mac OS X.
Server will happily store files for many, many users and provide them to multiple (up to hundreds) of computers at "near hard Drive" speeds over Gigabit Ethernet. It can make the File Sharing part easy.

  • Final cut pro 4 and Apple Mac Pro

    Hi !
I intend to buy a new Apple Mac Pro 2.66GHz computer.
Will I be able to work with Final Cut Pro 4 ? and After Effects 6.5 ?
    Can someone please help ?

FCP 4, not really. You need FCP 5.1.
AE 6.5 - perhaps. It will run under Rosetta and there has to be a whole bunch of info on tweaking the settings to get it to run reasonably.
fwiw - Adobe just announced the CS3 suite which will include a UB version of AE. You will likely want to go for that.
    good luck.

Generally, it's ok to install on two machines as long as they are both yours and you only use one version at a time.
BTW, this is the forum for Adobe Contribute.

  • Internal Hard Drives for Apple Mac Pro

    Hello there,
Does any one have some advice on the following internal HDs. I am in Germany and this is what I have found that I am interested in. I just don't know if they all are for Apple Mac Pro because the provider doesn't specify.
    1) HD 1000GB Western Digital RE2 GP, SATA, intern, 3,5'', 7200rpm, 16MB Cache, RoHS compliant, 5 years warranty (not bad eh?) = 139,00 €
    2) HD 1000GB Samsung SpinPoint F1 HD103UJ SATA intern 7200rpm 32MB Cache 8,9ms: 109,00 €
    3) HD Seagate Barracuda ES.2, 1000GB, SAS, intern, 3,5'', 7200rpm, 16MB Cache, 8,5ms, 5 years warranty: 214,00 €
Any bad experience with Wester Digital? Or recommendations for internal hard drives, they are greatly appreciated!
I was wondering too, does it affect the hard drive, that the bigger it is the shorter it will live? I love having 1T, and I already got 2T EXTERNALS from WesternDigital. But I am certainly concerned that the bigger they get, the more chances to fail the might have. Does this make sense?
I am also a little doubtful about internals, they seem to fail faster than the externals, is this true in most cases?
I just want to have the capability of storing my Aperture Library in an internal HD, for easy access and all the images on an external drive.
    Thank you for the advice!!
    Cheers!
    E.

I would get WD Black, Hitachi (latest, not their earlier model) or Seagate (no need to spend on ES).
WD has been excellent in Mac Pro, I just would skip on GP.
I only had one drive with 4 bad blocks in 20 WD drives.
Personally, I would get 4 x 640GB WD Caviar drives for internal. They are fast, quiet, and run cool. And sells for US$80.

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro on both my Apple Mac Pro and Apple MacBook Pro

I think I found the answer to my question: "May I install my copy of Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro on both my Apple Mac Pro and on my recently purchased Apple MacBook Pro?" I think my question was answered in reading the text of the agreement for use of this site in the following:
"You may activate the Software on up to 2 devices (or virtual machines) at a time, if these activations are associated with the same Adobe ID for the same individual, unless stated at http://www.adobe.com/go/activation . However, you may not use the Software on these devices simultaneously."
If this is correct, would you confirm. I know how security conscious Adobe is with their software.
    Thank you! Be Safe!
    Ken

    Hi kennethf71183385,
Thank you so much for asking! Yes, you are entitled to activate your copy of Acrobat on two computers. Please see Activation & Deactivation Help - Adobe Support for more information about activating Adobe software!
Please let us know if you have additional questions.
    Best,
    Sara

  • I am selling my apple mac pro but do not know how to deregister and register it to the new owner; how do you do this?

I am selling my apple mac pro but do not know how to deregister and register it to the new owner; how do you do this?

Before you sell or give away your computer, in addition to the steps mentioned in this support article, take these steps:
Run Apple Diagnostics or the Apple Hardware Test. The buyer will do this (or he should), and you don't want to be surprised by the results.
Reset the PRAM and the SMC, which might contain personal information.
If you set a firmware password, remove it by running Firmware Password Utility in Recovery mode.
If you activated FileVault in OS X 10.7 or later, turn it off.
If you use Boot Camp, the partition must be deleted
If you created any other data partitions on the internal drive, remove them in Disk Utility.
Erase the data partition(s) with the option to zero out data. An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed.
You can't legally or practically transfer any software downloaded from the Mac App Store to the new owner of the machine, even if it was free. That includes OS X, so if you upgraded to OS X 10.7 or later, you must reinstall  an older OS, either from the installation media, if applicable, or by booting into Internet Recovery (option-command-R at the startup chime.) If you installed from physical media, deliver those to the new owner.
If you're selling the machine, or donating it in working order, and it originally shipped with OS X 10.4 or 10.5, then you have the option of installing either from the discs that came with it or from a retail Snow Leopard disc (which you must then transfer with the machine.) The buyer should understand that if he doesn't get the original discs from you, he won't get the bundled iLife applications or the Apple Hardware Test. Replacements for the original discs can be ordered from Apple.
The new owner will have to redownload any software that came from the App Store, including OS X upgrades, under his or her Apple ID. If you ever updated the bundled iLife applications (Garage Band, iMovie, and iPhoto) through the App Store, you can't transfer those either.
Remove the machine from your list of registered products. If it's still covered by an AppleCare Protection Plan, transfer the coverage to the new owner by following the instructions in the AppleCare Terms and Conditions (under the heading "Transfer of Plan.")

i am useing apple mac pro so can i use apple logo on my visiting card?

No. Ownership of an Apple product does not give you the right to use their trademarked and copyrighted logos. From their licensing information:
You may not use the Apple Logo or any other Apple-owned graphic symbol, logo, or icon on or in connection with web sites, products, packaging, manuals, promotional/advertising materials, or for any other purpose except pursuant to an express written trademark license from Apple, such as a reseller agreement.

  • I have a 2009 Apple Mac Pro with no windows, can I surf the web on virgin media wifi

Can I surf the web on the Apple Mac Pro with out windows on Virgin media wifi

What are you asking? Are you saying you do not have Microsoft Windows on your computer? If so, Microsoft Windows is not needed to surf the Internet. Or, are you saying that the site you are surfing to requires Windows Internet Explorer which you do not have?
Rephrase your question being more specific as to your issue.

  • I'm shopping for the Apple Mac Pro

I'm shopping for the Apple Mac Pro Desktop 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Quad, 3GB RAM
    Mfr. Part # MB871LL/A
When I put that in the Apple website, (just MB871LL/A ) or Google on the Web, it shows results)
which on the Web is :
2300$ at PC connection, J&R and Amazon
While looking for a better price I found one
for much much cheaper (+/- $500 less)
Desktop Computers » APMP266QC3 » Apple Mac Pro Desktop Computer Workstation (Early 2009)
(I don't know why they call it a workstation ?)
They say all our products are new, not refurbished
It's the same as the one seen on J&R, Amazon, etc. but what bothers me is that the Mfr# is different. [APMP266QC3] when everywhere else, including Apple store, it is MB871LL/A
I'm wondering if there's something fishy here ?

First a clarification: After reading the May 2009 issue of MacWorld (pg 50) I decided to buy the Apple Mac Pro Desktop 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Quad, 3GB
I find out that this model is known as Mfr. Part # MB871LL/A
So if I see a Mfr#Z0G8-0002 (see below) I'm wondering what it is.
The store that I'm talking is not B&H, it's on the other side of the country. They sell a 3GB and a 6 GB.
they sell a 3GB computer with # [APMP266QC3] which seems now to be a B&H stock # (No information on Mfr#)
They have also a 6GB and it has the APMP266QC6GB and
Mfr#Z0G8-0002 also with $500 less than anywhere else.
Both these number can be seen in B&H
And that's my question: Mfr#Z0G8-0002 ? (not sure what is 0002)
A completely different number just because 6GB instead of 3GB and everything else is the same ? That would be stupid. Usually it would just have one digit different at the end.
When I put that number in the Apple page it said no result found. (but that could be because they stop selling it ?) If you google it will show results.
    I google both ZOG8-3GB and Z0G8-6GB
    http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=Z0G8-6GB)&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8
    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=safari&rls=en&q=Z0G8-3GB%29&btnG=Searc h
    or
    http://www.epinions.com/MacDesktops--price_range_20006000
The first one compare to the 4th one. Ignore the stores. I'm not buying from them. I just want to show both computer on the same page.
Again, they have a different manuf. number. Is it just because it's 6GB instead of 3GB ?
So a store in the West, with no affiliation that I know with B&H in New York, sells a computer with a BH stock number ?
I know the saying of "if it's too good.."
I checked with the BBB there's no complaints about this company.

  • Headphone jack got stuck in my apple mac pro

the headphone jack got stuck in my apple mac pro.. and they are saying i need to change the mother board .. is that true?

I had the tip break off a headphone plug inside my son's MacBook audio jack. Then it would not play any sounds.
The professionals at the genius Bar can only propose solutions that they know will be VERY likely to work in fairly short order.  I am under no such constraints. The hopelessness of the situation makes it a little more difficult, but not impossible.
Since it was already broken, I had nothing to lose, and went after the broken piece with a very fine dental pick.
After many aggravating minutes of fiddling, I gave up and did something else for a while. I came back to it later and got the broken piece out and everything worked again. YOUR MILEAGE MAY VARY.

Prices have crashed. Look and you can find Samsung 128's and others for $89 sometimes.
It is not just moving the OS and data apart, though it does matter, and more from you should never have the OS cluttered with data, been doing that for... 35 yrs. 0.01 ns vs 10 ms. 60k IO's per second. Reads in 220MB/sec but held back from making full use of SATA 6G.
OWC Mercury Aura Pro Express 6G SSD, the first and only third party SSD compatible with the new 2012 MacBook Air.
