We also had the Forte hanging problem when upgrading to NT Service Pack
4.00.1381 from 3.
We require SQL*Net for a Forte add on product(Dore) used by developers. All
SQL*Net access worked except from Forte. By upgrading to SQL*Net client
2.34.00 we were able to get the problem resolved. If you are using SQL*Net this
might help you.

After upgrading to Win NT 4.0 service pack 4, one of our application
users is having problem in starting the application. Forte launcher
is started, but the application window never shows up. But the e-
console shows the user node entry. Anybody has experienced this
problem with Win NT 4.0 service pack 4 ? Any help would be
appreciated.

Welcome to the Forums.
I've worked with lenovo models that has an embedded Intel HD Graphics (these are units with core i3/i5/i7 CPU) but never ecountered a problem on them in installing Win7 SP1.
If you have one of these units, can you try to:
1. Update your Intel HD Graphics driver by running the Intel® Driver Update Utility (newest driver is v15.28.15.64.3062 (9.17.10.3062)
2. Download and install the Windows 7 SP1 Standalone Installer (choose the windows6.1-KB976932-X64.exe 903.2 MB for Win7 64bit)

Problem in jdk1.6 installation on win NT service pack 6

Hi All,
I am trying to install jdk1.6 on windows NT service pack 6. First it ask for windows installer 2.0 or later then i install intaller 2.0. Now when i try to install jdk1.6 it ask for some dll(dll name does not specified).
Can anybody tell me what dlls are requited on win NT to install jdk1.6. Its very urgent.
Any idea/suggestions are heartly welcome.

Memory problems - WIN 2K, service pack 4 with Oracle 9.2.0.4.0

We have a Win 2K server that is running Oracle Server 9.2.0.4.0. Recently we upgraded to NT service pack 4 and have been experiencing memory problems - running out of process memory. We think that Oracle may be causing this, as we have done some troubleshooting. What may be happening is that every time we make an Oracle call, there is some kind of memory leak that is occurring. This is related to connecting to the C runtime.dll.
Is this familiar to anyone, or does anyone know where I can locate some documentation about this?

I think it is not so hard issue. there could be many reason for this. I will suggest that first you should increase virtual memory of your OS and then examine the performance. SP4 is basically security pack and most MS SP related to Securities issues they do not increase system burden.

Not enough space for Win XP service pack 3

I am working on an install of Win. XP Pro SP2 for the principal of our middle school. I first got Leopard all updated, installed 3rd party software, completed updates to all and then ran Boot Camp assistant. Thinking that 5 gig would not be nearly enough space I made the Windows partition 25 gigs. I completed with the XP install and started the updates process. Shortly thereafter a message popped up that stated the partition was 4 gigs too small for installation of Service Pack 3 and I had to back out of the updates process. What are my options at this point? Can the windows partition be increased without having to start over with the windows install?

This is not the way to run .jsp files. You need to deploy them in a web app on a servlet/JSP engine and submit HTTP requests to that app server from a browser. You cannot double click on a JSP and display it.
Repeat: It can't be done.

?? System Update Incompatible with Win 7 Service Pack 1 ??

Hello everyone,
I have two ThinkPads.One's a T61p and the other is a W500. Both have Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (beta) installed and both have ThinkVantage System Update 4 (v4.00.0024) installed.
It seems the System Update is incompatible with Service Pack 1. When I try to run the System Update, it seems to start fine but when I try to get new updates, I receive the message, "An error occurred while gathering user information."
Has anyone else had this error? Will a new (compatible) version of System Update be released?

Boot Camp 2.1 & Win XP Service Pack 3

I recently upgraded this MacBook with a 200GB hard drive, and installed OS X 10.5. I then created the standard, 32GB partition to install Windows XP Pro. Everything was fine, until I tried to update Boot Camp to 2.1. Multiple attempts have failed, with no real reason why. Apple Software Update tells me that the update couldn't be installed, so please choose the Download Only option, and install manually. I did so, but when I run the file, it goes through the Windows Installer configuration, then immediately says that "The installer encountered errors before Boot Camp could be configured." I also fetched the package from Apple's download page, and got the same result. I am somewhat at a loss, so any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
The other issue is with XP SP3. When I attempt to install it, either from Windows Update, or from the complete download package, it informs me that there is insufficient for the uninstall information, which requires at least 4 MB of additional space. I almost laughed when I read that the first time, since there were over 20GB of free space at the time. Some quick google-searches haven't yielded anything particularly informative, so I figured this would be the quickest place to get some answers. Thank you in advance!

This appears to be a problem on several different models.
My graphics card was correctly identified on XP SP3, but it had an old device driver. I followed the instructions to install an up to date driver.
I had a 10.4 iMac running XP SP2 via BootCamp 1.x for more than two years.
Upgraded to 10.5.8, and BC 2.1. Then updated XP SP2 ==> SP3.
BSOD every 10 minutes.
Most general solution to correct problem:
1. Restart into OS X.
2. Run System Profiler - write down the name of your graphics card. (Mine was misspelled -- "AYI" instead of "ATI"!)
3. Follow instructions at above link. (You might already have .Net 2.0 -- I did.)
Problem solved.

Error while installing Oracle grid/Database vault in win XP service pack3

I am trying to install oracle database grid 10.2.0.2 in win xp service pack 3. It's giving the below error.
"Could not find the main class. Program will exit"
When I am installing Database grid 10.1.0.3 it's getting installed.
I also have java 1.5 installed in my system.
I am getting the same error while installing Database vault.
Where ever it's asking for the below JRE_LOCATION in "oraparam.ini" file I am getting the error.

OfficeJet 4315 no longer works after Win 7 and Office 2010 service packs applied

I've used OfficeJet 4315 on a Toshiba Satellite with WinXP (SP3) and Office 2003 and been delighted with the printer. I recently migrated to a brand-new Acer Aspire with Win 7 and Office 2010 (home & student ed.) At first, the 4315 worked well--in fact, all I had to do was plug in the USB connection and the in-OS drivers installed automatically. However, something has now caused the printer too be essentially useless! I think it happened after I applied SP1 to Win 7 and/or the service pack to Office 2010. I can no longer print Word files (.doc or .docx), Excel spread sheets (.xls or .xlsx), PDFs, Web pages, or even e-mails, The only things I can print are .txt files or equivalent and .jpg files or equivalent. I've tried deleting and reinstalling the printer (including deleting the drivers and reloading them from Windows Update). I don't believe I should have to replace a perfectly good printer just to support Windows 7 and Office 2010. I NEED HELP URGENTLY with this problem! If anyone has any knowledge or ideas, I'd be forever in your debt. (HP, I'd even pay to get the help I need on this one!!) TIA.

Based on your description, my understanding is that the PDF files cannot be checked out to local drafts folder after Office 2013 is installed.
Did this issue occur with Office files?
I recommend to check if the Office files can be checked out to local drafts folder with Office 2013.
And it is recommended to use Office 2010 with SharePoint 2010 for best practice.

For nodes not to appear in the environment as nodes, they could be defined
as members
of a model node '(which then would be in the environmnet)'
Putting a password in the environment could prevent nodes to be registered
there, but
might prevent the apps from being executed.

System image for Win 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1

Hello, I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. Am reading conflicting information online about being able to produce a system image in Win 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 - plus am not able to find directions for this process online or
on the laptop in question. The hard drive is failing in this laptop so I need to produce an image so that the transition when the new drive is installed will be a simple one. If creating a system image is not possible in this version of Windows
are there other alternatives that will accomplish my goal?

For OEM system, system image backup recovery for new hard disk might cause Windows activation failure by OEM product key.
