i bought 2 ge 31591 phones. to use one as backup. anyhow 3 days ago this thing started acting up so, i call GE tech support after a serious of test they agree, there was a problem and gave me CRA number for 30 days to send my phone back. but, i haven't done that just yet. so. i decided to connect my 2nd phone (the backup) and starting to do the same thing. it connected to skype but it did not show my contact list or events however, it was able to received skype calls with no problem. therefore. i believe it has something to do with skype software. i read on the website they got a bug that was messing up their system. i really want to know are they gonna fix this within a week or what. because the phone is useless if u dont see your contacts and, by the way i cannot add contacts either. i've tried to do it many time and it shows the message FAILED!

I've deleted the blocked contacts (huge list) and I am left with only a dozen or so regular contacts. I reset the GE device, logged out of my PC account and turned off the Windows 8 machine. Waited overnight and still no Skype contacts. Skype contacts did appear on the PC/Win8 applications. My landline contacts appear on the GE device, just not the Skype contacts. This only happened in the last few days. Checked for software update but nothing new... when was the last update?
I've logged out and logged in on another account and no Skype contacts showed up. I only have the two accounts to test with.

I just got this phone. It won't retrieve my contacts. I can add a skypout contact if it has a different name from other names in my "real" contact list, but if I logout and login again, even that gets lost.

Just got this phone today and mine won't retrieve contacts either. Also, I noticed in the owners manual, the pages from page 28 - 61 (which have the contact instructions) are missing. I went online and found the manual and this phone was supposed to download contacts automatically. They clearly knew it was defective which is why we got it so cheap. The removed the paperwork and sold the phone at a loss. To me its just a paperweight now. pure garbage. Typical of my experience with Skype, by the way. You can complain but no one will reply.

On your Mac, for duplicates, switching Contacts off then back on in System Preferences > iCloud may prevent duplicates.
On the iPhone / iPad tap Settings > iCloud. Make sure Contacts and Calendars are swtiched on.
Try restarting your Mac and your iOS devices when items won't sync as they should.
To restart an iOS device: Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button down until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone back on, press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

Just updated my iPhone 4 to iOS 7.1.2, and my phone won't get service

So I just went through the new software update, and since my phone has restarted it won't get service. A "Waiting for activation - this may take some time" message popped up after the reset, but nothing else. All I see is "Searching...".
I've never had this issue after an update, and I'm wondering if anyone else had this issue. Usually an activation would happen instantly, so I'm not sure what the issue is or how long I have to wait. Any help would be appreciated!

Hello, in Contacts I have thousands phone numbers listed in typical fashion as 'home', 'work', or 'mobile'. How can I get Contacts to tell me which 'mobile' phone numbers are associated with iPhones? Thanks!

The program doesn't do that as Csound1 typed.
Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

ZEN MICRO WON'T SYNC CONTACTS NOW .....

My Zen Micro won't sync contacts from Outlook Li've now (when it did before) .... get an error message:
"CTSync
X Unspecified error"
I'm using Outlook Li've (2003) that is linked to my hotmail e-mail; like I said, everything sync'ed fine before!
I've tried all the new downloads, etc.
I've also formatted the player several times.
I can still syn music, tasks, and calendar.
How do I resolve this issue ... no one from Creative Labs has been able to provide any assistance with the issue(s).

FernIe, I have the exact same problem, although now my Zen Micro won't turn on at all via the switch.
My Zen Micro is 5 months old and its only been over the past few weeks I've been having problems. It started with having to hold the switch in the power on position for a least 30 secs and trying it at least 5-0 times before the player would turn on, and having to remove the battery to turn it off. Now, not matter how many times I try the switch or how long i hold it for, the player won't turn on.
The battery is fully charged and I have never had problems with the headphone jack, and I haven't dropped it or done any damage to it that I think could be causing it. I'm having to turn it on by plugging it into my computer through the USB cable and then unlpugging it once its on, it's a pain doing this and means if I want to use it later I have to keep it on, muted, in my bag all day with the lock turned on (that end of the switch works) then once its turned off I can't turn it on again until I get near a computer again.
I've searched the discussions and knowledge base but haven't found an answer. I've just emailed the support team and I'm waiting for their response, would be interested to know what they've told you.

IPhone 5 won't get past apple screen (keeps restarting)

Bought an iphone 5 just before the ios 7 release and for the last little while the phone would shut off a After a full charge when it hit approximately 97% of full charge it would shut off! Now it won't get past the apple screen and just keeps restarting over and over again.
Does anyone else have this problem with their iphone 5 and if so any solutions???
Our carrier Fido says this is an IOS 7 issue. Can anyone help

That definitely sounds frustrating! To completely isolate the issue, you may want to restore your iPhone in recovery mode, as outlined in this article:

.The above article also has great troubleshooting steps for Power issues, you may want to run through those if restoring does not resolve your issue:

Freezes; won't get addresses, zoom, keeps deleted sites, HELP

repaired 3 times in 8 months. They don't like Mozilla/ Firefox (FF) &/or Kaspersky. They like Internet explorer. Blame troubles on Fox. Using e-bay, you click to zoom a picture. I can't anymore in FF. I can in IE.

No, that is a different application. Hold down the D key while booting with the 1st install disk in and it should start a diagnostics program called Apple Hardware Test. Are you running Tiger as your sig says. Leopard no longer has this.

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

Is there any way to get contacts back after them being deleted form iCloud?

My dad recently asked me to update his phone, so I plugged it into my computer to do so. For some reason just doing that resulted in his settings to change to have iCloud contact sync on. This resulted in our contacts syncing so his would show up on my phone and mine on his. He went on to delete all of my contacts from his phone, not realizing they were also being deleted on iCloud (therefore from my phone as well). I don't even understand why my contacts were not saved on my phone in the first place but all transfered to iCloud, but now they are gone from there as well. I tried restoring my phone from a backup on my computer a few weeks ago, however, this just restored everything else except for the contacts. So what I'm asking if there is any way to get contacts back that were ONLY on iCloud (because apparently apple doesn't realize saving something to a single place on the cloud isn't a good backup) but now are deleted. Does iCloud save this sort of information even after it is deleted?

The contacts might be deleted from icloud.com, but if they were on your phone when you created your last backup, they can be restored from your backup by following the user tip. The backup is separate from the data you see on icloud.com.

First, back up all data immediately, as your boot drive might be failing.
There are a few other possible causes of generalized slow performance that you can rule out easily.
Reset the System Management Controller.
If you have many image or video files on the Desktop with preview icons, move them to another folder.
If applicable, uncheck all boxes in the iCloud preference pane.
Disconnect all non-essential wired peripherals and remove aftermarket expansion cards, if any.
Check your keychains in Keychain Access for excessively duplicated items.
If you have more than one user account, you must be logged in as an administrator to carry out this step.
Launch the Console application in the same way you launched Activity Monitor. Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Select the 50 or so most recent entries in the log. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V). You're looking for entries at the end of the log, not at the beginning.
When posting a log extract, be selective. Don't post more than is requested.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
