This is a pretty general question but does anyone know of a way to create a digital form from a scanned paper form on a mac? I know that people use software such as Nuance's Omniform on the Windows platforms but I can't seem to find such a program for the mac. Is there someway to pull this off using Adobe PDF files? I would appreciate any help you guys can provide.

You can use Filemaker Pro and in the Layout section you drag "fields" around to represent any form you wish, draw lines and boxes, place pictures just like a page layout program but it's a database program.
You can then use these "fields" in any layout you wish, each record in the database will change the associated fields accordingly, name, address, phone etc etc.
I haven't used it in awhile, so I don't know if you can import a scan of a present paper form or not for a template, but it's rather easy to copy by measuring with a ruler.
Filemaker Pro so happens to be owned by Apple, but it's a seperate company, so you know it will work well.
If that's to much money for you, you can check out Appleworks, but I hear Apple isn't putting out any more updates for it, no Mactel version.

You can read "About calling reports, displays, and other forms from generated forms" topic in the Designer on-line help. By the way in Forms there are CALL_FORM,OPEN_FORM and NEW_FORM built-ins.

Error while calling a form from another form's menu item

I created a main form and menu module for this form.
I am calling another form from main form menu item.
i moved both the forms and menu and compiled them.
But, when i run this form i am getting an error saying
FRM 92100: Your connection to the server was interrupted
This may be the result of a network error, or a failure on the server.
You will need to establish your session.
I set the seperateframe = true
networkentries = 30
But still getting the same error.
Is there any parameter that i am missing.
I will greatly appreciate if anybody can direct me to the solution.

Frm-92101 happens when I open a form from another form and close it.

Frm-92101 happens when I open a form from another form, check something, show a message to the user and exit the form to the previous form.
Forms version: 10.1.2.0.2. Java: 1.6.0_23. Browser: IE6
When I put before the "EXIT_FORM" two messages, everything is fine and the second form is closed and I repeat to the first form just as I wanted.
In forms 9.0 it didn't happen.
Does it have a connection with the fact I use JRE instead of JInitiator?

There are numerous causes of the FRM-92101 error. I recommend you start your investigation by tracing your Forms session so you can see what your form is doing when the error occurs. Check out My Oracle Support document How to Use Forms Trace with Forms [ID 209372.1] for information on how to enable the trace. I have just found that there is a "Synchronize" command in one of the main attached libraries, and when I comment that command the application works well. But I don't want to comment it because it's a great library and I assume it has a part in the system.
I have discovered that in the new Forms' help, the fact that the System.Current_Item mustn't be null so the command "Synchronize" will work, is mentioned. In the old Forms' help, that fact is not mentioned.
So I tried to put it inside a condition that checks if the current item is not null, but the compiler doesn't recognize the "current_item". I don't know why. Because it's a library? So how can I check this? I can sent it as a parameter, but I don't want. Do you know something about it? Thank you.

How to access objects in the Child Form from Parent form.

I have a requirement in which I have to first open a Child Form from a Parent Form. Then I want to access objects in the Child Form from Parent form. For example, I want to insert a record into a block present in Child Form by executing statements from a trigger present in Parent Form.
I cannot use object groups since I cannot write code into Child Form to first create object groups into Child Form.
I have tried to achieved it using the following (working of my testcase) :
1) Created two new Forms TESTFORM1.fmb (parent) and TESTFORM2.fmb (child).
2) Created a block named BLK1 manually in TESTFORM1.
3) Created two items in BLK1:
1.PJC1 which is a text item.
2.OPEN which is a push button.
4) Created a new block using data block wizard for a table EMPLOYEE_S1. Created items corresponding to all columns present in EMPLOYEE_S1 table.
5) In WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE trigger of TESTFORM1 set the first navigation block to BLK1. In BLK1 first navigable item is PJC1.
6) In WHEN-NEW-ITEM-INSTANCE of PJC1, code has been written to automatically execute the WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED trigger for the "Open" button.
7) In WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED trigger of OPEN item, TESTFORM2 is opened using the following statement :
open_form(‘TESTFORM2',no_activate,no_session,SHARE_LIBRARY_DATA);
Since its NO_ACTIVATE, the code flows without giving handle to TESTFORM2.
8) After invoking OPEN_FORM, a GO_FORM(‘TESTFORM2’) is now called to set the focus to TESTFORM2

After Step 8, I notice that it passes the focus to TESTFORM2, and statements after go_form (in Parent Form trigger) doesnot executes.
I need go_form with no_activate, similar to open_form.

isn't it easier to find a solution without a second form? If you have a second window, then you can navigate and code whatever you want.
If you must use a second form, then you can handle this with WHEN-WINDOW-ACTIVATED and meta-data, which you have to store in global variables... ( I can give you hints if the one-form-solution is no option for you )

You can embed the form on your website, but you need to make sure that javascript has been enabled in the browser. You need to copy the embed code and add it into your HTML code. Try to convert the PL/SQL code from Forms trigger into a PL/SQL library(.PLL),
and then attach that PLL in your forms.
Note that all Forms objects should be referenced indirectly, for example,
you have to rewrite
:B1.DEPT_CODE := :B2.DEPT_CODE;
:B3.TOTAL_AMOUNT := 100;

copy('B2.DEPT_NO','B1.DEPT_NO');
copy('100','B3.TOTAL_AMOUNT');
This is the best way to share PL/SQL code among Oracle Forms.

Query a second form from another form by passing value

Hi,
I have two forms. I am trying to query a second form from another form. I have managed to display the query results in the second form by passing value from the first form. I did it according to the details in the Oracle 9ias Portal Technical FAQ html file.
It works fine when there is already a row in the first form. When I insert a new row in the first form and query the second form which has key from the first form, there is no matching rows displayed which is correct but detail action mode is 'NONE' for all detail rows.
According to the FAQ, it says the following:-
"When the called form is started, it executes a query with the supplied condition (in this case, "where deptno=10"). If the query is successful, the matching rows are displayed in Update mode. If no matching rows are found, the form starts in Insert mode."
It does not happen for me. I get NONE mode for no matching rows. Is this a BUG ? I am working on Portal version 3.0.9.8.0.
Is there something wrong in the code I wrote ? I would like to have all the detail mode as Insert.
Here is the following code I wrote on SUCCESSFUL SUBMISSION OF THE FORM.

The behaviour is OK as in the MD form there are two states "Save" and "Query and Save" and when the form is in "Query and Save" mode that means you can use it for both Query aswell as Save which is decided by your "Master action" if that is None it is used for Query , for Insert you will have to select Insert ,this is the Insert Mode behavior.
If you open a new MD form that is also in the "Query and Save" the same behaviour will be there.

Can anyone help me sync calendars from my iPhone to my Mac and help me figure out how to edit or delete lists in Reminders? I thought upgrading to Mountain Lion would work, but I'm having the same problem as before under Snow Leopard. So, here's my situation.
I'm running 10.8.2 on a Macbook Pro. I have a 3GS iPhone running 6.0.1. I can make entries on my Mac Calendar and they will show up on my iPhone, but if I make an entry on my iPhone, it never makes it to my Mac. Also, I notice that when I log in to my iCloud account on my Mac, it has a "me.com" email address as my apple i.d., but it is not my primary account i.d. and I can't figure out how to delete it. Also, my Reminders application won't allow me to delete lists I created. Contacts, on the other hand, work instantaneously regardless of where the change is initiated.

On you iPhone check Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Calendar (in the calendars section). Here be sure you have selected the Calendar listed under your iCloud account ID as your default. If you haven't, make this change, then enter a new event on your phone and see if it syncs properly now.
You should be able to delete you reminders list by, from the Lists view, tapping Edit at the top, then tapping next to the list you want to delete and tapping Delete.

I already create the pdf form that contain digital signature field using ACROBAT XPRO...and now i would like to send data from pdf form to fdf file.I already manage to send data from other field except the digital signature.How to send the signature digital value to FDF file so that i can display it back to PDF file next time?Can anyone help me...i really need help right now...

Help with exporting data from pdf form

I have about 100 pdf forms that I created in adobe forms central and distributed as a pdf form (rather than on the web). I am trying to export the data into a spreadsheet but when I export it, the fields are all jumbled in the csv file, as in they are not in the same order. I need to export the data all together so I'm going to the forms menu and selecting "manage form data" and then selecting "merge data files into spreadsheet". I tried exporting a single file but that gave me something really weird.
Please help, I have a deadline next week to analyze this data and can't make sense of it once it is exported to a spreadsheet.

Would you please share your form with me and send me one of your pdf forms and some of the csv files?
You can share your form by doing the following:
1. Click on the “Share” icon on the bottom left corner.
2. Click on “Add Collaborator” on the popup menu.
3. Enter [email protected] under “People to share with”.
4. Set subject to "Export data from pdf form"
5. Click the “Share” button on the bottom right of the dialog.

I have problem when I try to do this since I am pretty new with Jdev and ADF.
If anyone has any suggestion or guide will be appreciated.
I have two forms on a page.
Form 1 take in user input (integer) and return an array of String.
Form 2 take in user selection (from the array of String) and return a String.
These two forms work fine individually but I want to link them together so that if
a user enter a number in the input field a selection list will be generated from the array of String
and the result will be printed out depends on the user's selection.

When you talking about Form, you mean table form, not page right? Because I quote your words: 'All actions should be on one page'.
If Form A and Form B you were talking about is on one page, here is the suggestions:
Supposing you have 2 database tables: department and employee.
1) In your ADF workspace (your.jws) model project, create 2 Entites say: Department and Employee based on your database tables. If you don't want your final page editable, you don't need to create association between Department and Employee;
2) In your model project, create 2 Views say: DepartmentView and EmployeeView. Actually when you create Department and Employee Entity in step 1), you have option to create default ADF view for each of them;
3) Create ViewLink between DepartmentView and EmployeeView which reflect the foreign key reference between backend database tables. Here you need to specify reference type and I believe its 1 to * (many) between DepartmentView and EmployeeView on DepartmentID;
4) Create a new Application Module if you don't already have;
5) Add DepartmentView into your Application Module and select DepartmentView in your Application Module and add EmployeeView so that EmployeeView appear directly under DepartmentView, this tells ADF that DepartmentView is the master and EmployeeView is the detail;
6) On your JSF page, drag EmployeeView data control from your Application Module and drop it onto your JSF and choose "Master-Detail" -> "ADF Master Table, ADF Detail Table".
By doing so, you should be able to achieve your functional requirement which in this case Department is the master table, when you choose a department, the detail Employee table will display employee
information correspondingly.

From ID you can export to XHTML which is indeed consumed by DW but not via Acrobat...
So, can I import a PDF form into ID?
When I meant was - InDesign can export to XHTML
Acrobat cannot
Indeed, it would be great if forms could be created as ID objects and then exported to a PDF form but not yet (all fingers and toes crossed for CS5/CS6)
