  • E-mail Setting Up - Require Urgent Help for BlackBerry 9380 Options

    Hi guys.
I've bought a BlackBerry 9380 and everything seems to be working except for setting up my emails.
Everything I read says: Go to 'Settings' then 'Email Setup', but I do not have email set up in my settings, I only have an option that says 'Email Accounts', which for the BB9380 I'm sure you have to do.
However, everytime I click it, it says 'Connecting to email settings...' and after a couple of minutes it will say: 'Your device had a problem connecting to the server.' And everytime I click retry, the same thing occurs. All my wireless settings are on, my signal's good etc, but I can't find how to sort this anywhere.
All I want to do is add m hotmail email address to my BlackBerry so the emails come straight through to my phone.
    Please help!!!
    Thanks you.

    Hi there,
Can you confirm that you are on a BlackBerry data plan? In order to use email on your BlackBerry, you need access to the BlackBerry data network. If you are sure that you have a BlackBerry data plan (e.g. if you're able to use services like BBM), then try doing the following:
    1. Go to Options > Device > Advanced System Settings > Host Routing Table and then press the BB Menu button and select Register now. You should get a message in your Inbox stating that your device is now registered on the BlackBerry network.
    2. Try to go to Setup > Email Accounts again. Are you now able to access the email setup?
If you don't get the message stating that your device is registered on the BlackBerry network, you need to contact your carrier and ask them to ensure that they have set up your BlackBerry data plan correctly. I've had that happen before and once they changed my data package over, everything started working correctly.
    I hope this info helps!

  • Need Help for Blackberry passport

OK, thank you. I therefore recommend you attempt an OS reload via the unofficial methods, which are cleaner, and allow you to choose an OS version that perhaps your carrier (or whoever it is controlling your offers) has been slow to approve:http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-10-OS-Device-Software/Upgrading-OS10-devices-using...http://forums.crackberry.com/bb10-leaked-beta-os-f395/bb10-os-archive-943672/Of course, before you started any of this you hopefully already took a good backup via LINK, a manual copy of your Device Memory to your PC, and full documentation of your configuration (account credentials, added apps, configurations, etc.). Sometimes, restoring from a backup returns to the device the very corruption one needs to eliminate, and reconfiguring from scratch can resolve that.

It is difficult to parse between what you are saying and what you are quoting. Better still, you can try looking up the error message in the public KBs:http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/microsites/microsite.dodanielbcrossman wrote:

If you do elect to use the unofficial methods, then you need to be aware of the difference between Software Release and OS level. Refer:http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/microsites/microsite.doThe official methods use SR, but the unofficial methods (as well as most discussions here with others) all use the actual OS. Further still, if you are seeking 10.3.2, then do be aware of the mandatory "anti theft" feature which is included in that branch. You must know your BBID credentials...if not, you can render your device useless, even to you. Good luck!

  • Please I need help for blackberry 10

I have blackberry 10 z and I try to restore to the Factory settings but I can't its give me the picture all time Hanging now I can't use the mobile

So I take it that you have used both suggested methods.  And of course I am assuming that you have exhausted your service provider.  This hanging message is strange.  When you plug it in and link to link does it not give you the option to restore to factory settings? Maybe try removing the'BB Link' - un-install  and then after a little while go onto the official site and reinstall it.  I'm sure that you have tried a battery pull. If not then do not turn off the handset but pull out the battery in the middle of the program.  Also, do the same to the PC or MAC.  failing all these methods I have exhasted my knowledge in relation to restoring a phone back to factory settings.  Speak to you service provider and have them send you out a new handset.  I am a simple BB user.  I love the phone and believe that in the future all these probs we are facing will be ironed out in time.  I am sure there are other users that may be able to help you futher if my methods do not help.  Let me know  :-)

  • Error "Sorry your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support Twitter for BlackBerry Smartphones"

I have a Curve 8300.  With OS v4.5.0.81.  And I am on a BB Social network plan through my cell providor "Fido".
I mainly use it for Facebook & Twitter  and have no problems using either app.  However I was prompted for an update for my twitter recently but wasn't near a wifi spot to update.  Just decided to update today at home where I do have wifi.  However when I go to do the update, it gives me the following error:
"Sorry your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support Twitter for BlackBerry Smartphones"
I have scoured for answers but haven't had much luck.  I tried checking for OS updates.  I apparently have the most current one that my phone will support.  I uninstalled twitter and then tried to reinstall it via the twitter Icon on my phone.  Got the same error.  Tried reinstalling it through app world, it installed just fine.  However it installed the version that I had previously had.  So I went to twitter's settings and checked for updates.  It prompted for one as I expected it would.  And when I tried to get the update.  It gave me that error again.  I can use twitter as it is, but I don't see why my phone shouldn't be able to get all the updates for various apps.  Is it a software compatability issue?  Is it a hardware compatability issue?  Is there anything I can do to get the update or do I just have a phone that won't take some app updates?

Hi and welcome to the forums!
The 8300 is not listed in the device upgrade table for Blackberry device OS v5.0. The newer versions of apps like Twitter and Facebook require device OS v5.0 to run correctly. Might be time to consider a new device!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
I actually think that all of your issues are related, and rooted in the same problem...OS corruption or hardware failure. But, before you begin, please be sure you have a good backup...see the link in my auto-sig on this post for instructions for that process.
Then, at the top of each device forum, there should be some "sticky" threads that discuss the OS levels available for many models. If they include your model, then please use those as reference as you proceed. Otherwise, you will have to dig through the official download portal for OS packages for your model:
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
From a PC, you can install any compatible (e.g., for your exact BB Model Number) OS package to a BB via this procedure:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Device-Software/How-To-Reload-Your-Operating-Syste...
Note that while written for "reload" and the Storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or reload any BB device model -- it all depends on the OS package you download and install to your PC. If that OS package is from a carrier other than the carrier for which your BB was originally manufactured, then delete, on your PC, all copies of VENDOR.XML...there will be at least one, and perhaps 2, and they will be located in or similarly to (it changes based on your Windows version) these folders:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    C:\Users\(your Windows UserName)\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
Be sure that you remove, from your PC, any other BB device OS packages as having more than one installed to the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.
You may also want to investigate the use of BBSAK (bbsak.org) to perform the wipe it is capable of.
You may also want to try this procedure to perhaps narrow down the precise causal item:
Load your OS "bare bones"...if anything is optional, do not install it.
If the behavior presents immediately, then try a different OS with step 1
If the behavior does not immediately present, then run for as long as it takes for you to be sure that the behavior will not present.
Add one thing -- no matter how tempting, just one.
If the behavior does not present immediately, then again run for long enough to be sure it will not have the same problem
Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all things are loaded or the behavior presents
When the behavior presents, you know the culprit...the last thing you loaded.
If the behavior does not re-present, then you know that either step 1 or 2 cured it.
If the behavior presents no matter what, then you likely have a hardware level issue for which no amount of OS or software can cure.
If you are on MAC, you are limited to only your carriers sanctioned OS packages...but can still use any levels that they currently sanction. See this procedure:

  • Need help from Blackberry - Can't register 9860 in BB network.

Yesterday I have bought a 9860 torch from an online auction site in Romania. The phone is looking great, working great, except I cannot register it on the blackberry network, in order to use an internet data plan. As soon as I turned the phone on, the yesOPTUS carrier logo appeared on the screen, indicating that this device once belonged to someone in Australia. My carrier is Orange Romania and I am using it on a pre-paid SIM card with the "blackberry unlimited 4" internet option that Orange offers in Romania. When I try to go to Host Routing Table in the phone's menu, there is nothing displayed there. I tried to send the registration message and remove the battery (while the decice is ON) and put it back in, with no result. I have spent a day on the phone with the data plans support team at Orange Romania, virtually troubleshooting every possibility to connect the device to the bb network - they even created a bb access point specifically for my phone number - everything without result. When I tried to create a blackberry account on blackberry.orange.ro with my PIN and IMEI, the page replied that my account is disabled and that I should contact my carrier. Which I did. And they said that I should either talk to Blackberry or yesOPTUS, as there is a possibility that my device is already registered with the BB network on the yesOPTUS, from it's first owner back in Australia, and that my PIN may need to be erased from a database in order to be re-synced with my carrier. The way I see it, it's either that, or Orange does not carry the 9860 in their network (yet?). The certain fact is that I ended up with a beautiful device that I can't use to it's fully potential. Any help from Blackberry is fully appreciated. Thanks.

Optus is in the only one that can remove the PIN/IMEI from their system. You need to contact them.
If the device has been reported lost or stolen, they won't remove it.

    Hello antoni,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums
It sounds like there may be an issue with the device software or hardware. I would suggest getting access to a PC with your USB cable and device then attempt to reload the device software.
    Try these steps first.
If you have issues getting the reload to begin, connect the device, go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader and click on Loader.exe. (Make sure you have the latest device software downloaded and installed on the PC) Press next on the first wizard screen until it takes you to the connection screen. Next, pop the battery out of the device and reinsert it. If it comes up with the PIN or PIN unknown click next and try to proceed through the application load.
If it still fails to reload the device software you may need to contact your point of sale for replacement options.
    Cheers!
