I have a Qosmio G30-201, with the following spec:
- Intel Centrino Duo Mobile Technology featuring Intel Core2 Duo Processor T7400- Genuine Windows XP Media Center Edition- 400 (200 + 200) GB Hard Disk Drive- 2,048 (1,024+1,024) MB DDR2 RAM (533 MHz)- 17" Toshiba TruBrite WUXGA TFT display- HD DVD-ROM drive
Running under Vista Ultimate
I would like to upgrade the memory to 4096.
Do I have to buy 4096 of memory, or can I add 2048?
What memory do i buy? Toshiba do not seem to sell MB DDR2 RAM (533 MHz) after 4 years. What other memory would be suitable?

Your notebook can handle with 4GB of RAM and I recommend you to use 2 x 2GB module.
Compatible 2 GB module has part number PA3513U-1M2G or Kingston KTT667D2/2G.
Put the part umber in Google and you will find a place where you can order it in your country.

I own a Qosmio G30-201 and have had it for almost 2 years now.
Only a few weeks back I've been getting a error message *error nv4.disp* and my system shuts down.
I've even used the recovery cd many times and it does work for a day or 2
Can any 1 help plz?

Try firstly to update the BIOS and the graphic card driver.
If this will not help you then I would recommend contacting the ASP in your country like suggested by Akuma too.

Qosmio G30-201 connected to LCD - how to fit the whole screen?

I have a Qosmio G30-201 laptop and also using a Toshiba WLT58 32 inch widescreen LCD with a HDMI Connector.
I am trying to get the film that I am watching to fill the whole screen and leave the borders off.
Is this possible?

Did you check if there is an option in the DVD player software which you use to watch DVDs??? Please check it!
Additionally you could check the NVIDIA graphic card properties -> advanced settings.
There you will find tab called GeForce Go.
Thee you should open the table at the left side which provides useful options.
Go to the device settings -> device adjustment.

Qosmio G30-201 HD-DVD cant play- Cannot display video on ext device?

I am trying to play Heroes Season 1 HD DVD on my G30-201, and get a message ' Cannot display video on external device ' but there is NO external device - I am firstly trying to display it on the G30 screen. I would like to play it out through HDMI to another full screen TV.
I have updated the BIOS and reinstalled the HD-DVD player from the Toshiba site but there is no change!

since when does the problem appear? Is this the first time?
I am not sure, but if you didnt already reinstalled the display drivers, I would suggest it since sometimes the VGA driver does not like the user wants.
Please, go to the Toshiba driver download site (again ;) ) and download the display driver. Install it and define only the internal screen.
If it doesnt work come back and give a feedback so we can discuss further about your problem.

It's totally dependent on your broadband speed.
It took me about 45 minutes to download, but I have a reasonably fast connection.
It will often say in the purchased pane of the Mac App Store how much longer it will take.

If you add the following in your web.xml:

The *.jsf will be mapped to the file with the same name, but xhtml as extention.
if you the javax.faces.DEFAULT_SUFFIX is not defined in the web.xml, the default suffix comes from the one of the constant of javax.faces.application.ViewHandler . This constant names DEFAULT_SUFFIX and equals to ".jsp"

If you have not previously purchased Mavericks from the Mac app store, then no. It is no longer available. Yosemite has the same system requirements as Mavericks and is a free upgrade from the app store.

No sound through the HDMI connector using Qosmio G30-201 & Vista

I am getting no sound through the HDMI connector using VISta.
I have XP and Vista on my laptop.
When i boot into Xp I can get the sound to come through the television but when I boot into vista I have no sound coming through.
I have just reloaded both partions with Xp and vista so it is a fresh install on both and it is still doing the same thing.
Please help.

I would like to download documents in pdf. How do I do that and where are they downloaded to on the iPad?

If you have the PDFs on your computer's iTunes (you should be able to add them to your iTunes via FIle > Add File To Library), then you should be able to sync them to the iBooks app on your iPad by connecting and selecting the iPad on the left-hand side of iTunes and then selecting the Books tab on the right-hand side.
If you want to copy them to a different app then it will depend upon what that app supports e.g. file sharing

I dont know why you are not able to remove this cover but it should be secured only with one screw and after removing of this screw you should simply remove this cover which was placed in the middle of the bottom.

Video-in Function - Qosmio G30-201

Hi, I'm starting to question my own sanity. I posted a query a while ago about video capture from the video-in port on the right sode of the laptop adjacent to the s-video input. I never really got a full answer to this (see link http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=19160&messageID=70057
I've tried various different sources both video and audio, using the provided cable. Nothing is ever detected or played through this port and no amount of tinkering in Media Centre with the source playing seems to be able to find anything.
I have seen similar questions on the forum none of which seem to have been answered eg:

Lets see if we can help you to solve this problem.
At first, please connect your VHS tape, or whatever you have, to the Qosmio video-in (composite or SVHS) and the audio in (cable supplied with the notebook)
Composite video in (Yellow RCA), left audio in (White RCA), right audio in (Red RCA)
FOR MONITORING:
-Open the Toshiba Picture enhancement utility and choose your Video input (Composite or SVHS) and your Video signal (NTSC or Pal)

This is used only if you want your Qosmio as a monitor in for your VHS, DVD player, etc.
Select monitor-in on picture enhancement utility, to composite input cable (the yellow) and press the hotkeys (Fn+4) to see the video from your source on Qosmio LCD display.
pressed once = 4x3 mode, pressed two = 16x9 mode, pressed three = return to LCD normal mode
or select the S video option on picture enhancement utility, if you have a SVHS cable connected to video input in your Qosmio.
NOW FOR RECORDING:
-Pick up a good capture program, you could do this capture with media center 2005, but I let you choose a better one.

Thank you so much. All fmb, rep, mmb, pll, proc, are working fine. I did not see any problem today after I added the upgrade_plsql option to the f60genm.
One more question, did you try to convert fmb to xml and xml back to fmb. We have list boxes that will be populated during run time and so the list does not have any elements during design time. And so the xml will be created but with does not have that list box which does not have elements. And so I cannot convert back to fmb as the xml is incorrect. Do you have any idea if there are any other options for converting to xml?

Qosmio G30 - keybored and touch pad not working

I have a G30 and I have just replaced the DVD drive as my old one stopped working and now my touch pad and keyboard dont work.
The keyboard works in the BIOS. However it dosnt work in windows so I cant even login. I have tryed FN F9 but had no luck and I cant reformat my computer as the DVD drive has only just been put in.
I cant use that either because there are no drivers for it on the computer and its not being picked up.
Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks :)

Have you tried external input devices? I mean an external keyboard an mouse.
Why you cant reinstall Windows? You dont need a driver for the DVD drive. You just need the Toshiba recovery disk and boot from it. Follow the instructions on the screen and it starts to reinstall Windows.

How do I de-install iTunes version 7 and where can I get iTunes 6 from?

itunes 7 is causing more problems than its worth and I really really really want to roll back a release.

The problem that itunes 7 has caused is that it has quarupled the resolution of the iPOD movie export from Final Cut. On the face of it this is good news, the proelm though is that the half hour programs I make are now 400Mb large, and are therefore unusable.
So I need to roll back iTunes and Final Cut to whatever the original presets were in Final Cut soi I end up with half hour video podcasts being a realistic 160 to 180Mb.
Until we all have ADSL2Plus, of course, in which case I'll upgrade to higher resolutions.
Fo rthe first time on 20+ years of using Apple products, they have caused me a major major problem.
