HELP PLEASE, my name is Jerry Beatty [email protected].....
I have 2 IBM think Pads one a 300 type 2826.The other a A20m type 2628-11U..S/N 78-DG814
I have the same problem with both IBM Laptops!!!
I cannot get the computer to recognize the CD and thinks it is A: Driver and when I browse I get D: with nothing else.
What really DISAPPOINTS me is I cannot click and get the Norton Antiviral \Online CD out...
I have 43 Infections, 5 viruses, 29 adarwes, 4 spy ware and 2 tracking cookies..
I have been having this problem for several days and when I just clicked restart my computer, in 2 hours I got a message that someone else is on my IBM Laptop....
I'm using my Old 202 IBM ThinkPad and I need immediate HELP to resolve my 43 viruses and maybe the perpetuators will RECEIVE my VIRUSES. It will serve them right!!! 
Please reply with any tips and the Lenovo Customer Support chat line address, contact information.
I realize that I am Perplexes and down right DESPERATE but please HELP me ASAP.

    Are you certain the ThinkPad is a T41?  I did a search on "2373-72A" on Lenovo's support web site, and came up with the following configuration:
    ThinkPad T40 (2373-72A) P M 1.5GHz, 256MB RAM, 40GB 5400rpm HDD, 14.1 XGA(1024x768) TFT LCD, 32MB ATI Radeon 7500, 16x10x24x/8x CD-RW/DVD(slim), Modem(CDC), 1Gb Ethernet(LOM), Intel 802.11b Wireless(MPCI), Secure Chip(TCPA), UltraNav, 6 cell battery, WinXP Pro
    In any case, here are the drivers for both model generations:
    ThinkPad T40, T40p
    ThinkPad T41, T41p
    Don't forget to install all of the latest updates for Microsoft Windows after you have finished installing the drivers.

  • Suspend quirks for IBM thinkpad X31 model 2672C1U

    I am not able to make the suspend work with any of the quirks does anone have a X31 model 2672C1U?
    X31 users can find the product ID by running the following

    Hi guys and gals.
    I have been researching this for 3 days now. I have also asked at the #Archlinux channel but they don't seem to know the answer and I cannot seem to find anything relevant... so here goes nothing.
    I have this Belkin rt73usb card - it's connected to this SUPER OLD Thinkpad 600E machine and it's associated always with only 1 router - static IP setup - basically laptop is stationary / not moved. I had little problems with connecting it to the network at boot time but thanks to Boohbah from #Archlinux channel and a bit of research I got it to connect http://sparewotw.wordpress.com/2013/01/ … boot-time/ and to turn off power management and to keep the rate as "fixed" - works well BUT... I have a problem with it - the connection stays up - I can browse the internet from the thinkpad / I can access the sshfs share on my server (from thinkpad) and so on but after a while sshd port - 50505 in my case - goes from open into filtered and I cannot connect to it anymore. Example - rebooted thinkpad - i can connect - thinkpad was left alone for lets say sometimes 10 minutes - sometimes an hour - connection is active but I cannot ssh to the machine anymore.
    I have been running shorewall as a firewall and I said maybe it's a shorewall bug but then I ran as root shorewall clear and it didn't solved it, disabling shorewall or restarting didn't help, restarting sshd service didn't help only restarting the wlan0 service / connection re-opens the port... Any ideas?
    All I get is "No route to host" and when I nmap the port it's not open anymore... it says filtered without firewall enabled / active...
    The connecting method has nothing to do with failures as netcfg (which started connecting at boot time after adding pci=noacpi to the boot time kernel parameters) is doing the exact same thing...
    Also when powermanagement was on and the rate was not fixed the problem was still occuring...

    Which channel do You "recommend"?
    My router is set to G-only as the card is G-only, I have been using channel 1 but I will change it to 11 and see what happens.
    I was using WPA2-Personal with AES but I will change it to WPA2-Mixed (AES + TKIP) and see if that changes anything.
    I was hoping that the upgrade of the linux-firmware (linux-firmware-20130610-1) that I have found in the repo today fixes the issue.

  • Will the IBM Thinkpad T-40 work with this power adapter: 83H6339

    A friend of mine had an old AC Adapter laying around his garage from a real old IBM Thinkpad and gave it to me. The part number on the AC Adapter is 83H6339. My wife purchased an IBM Thinkpad T-40 that only had the docking station with power but doesn't hook directly up to the laptop. I wanted to find out if this old AC Adapter would be compatible with the T-40 (2373-72U). I don't want to hook it up and chance messing anything up, but I can't find any specs on what types of laptops this adapter is supposed to work with.

    hankinsd, welcome to the forum,
    I wouldn't use it, it is a 56W AC Adapter and too"weak". The T4 series requires a 72W AC Adapter.

  • IBM Thinkpad Z60t help

    Well I reinstalled windows xp pro sp 2 on my grandpa's old ibm thinkpad model Z60t, because he gave it to me and i didn't need half the stuff on the hard drive. So I reinstalled xp and I don't have any driver disks or backup discs. So I went to the Lenovo website and tried to download the drivers on my desktop and transfer them to my laptop. I reinstalled the wifi driver but it is not working properly. It won't let me connect to the internet. Also, it won't let me put the computer on stand by.

    After downloading and extracting it, you must go into C>Drivers>Win>Wlanath and run the setup file from there.

  • IBM Thinkpad not printing to Airport Express.

    Gurus, I recently purchased a new IBM Thinkpad laptop, I wanted to sent it up to print wirelessly to the existing Airport Express and it doesn't work. The Apple has always printed with no issues. I followed the setup instructions and followed troubleshooting instructions and still no go.
    I added the printer (an Epson) it just doesn't print.
    Any ideas?

  • Making Bluetooth and Wireless Internet on a IBM ThinkPad T41 work

    Hello Everybody,
    I’ve bought a second hand IBM ThinkPad T41 yesterday. I want to connect wireless with my wireless internet point. But I’ve come to notice that there isn’t any wireless support on my ThinkPad 41T. Also I want to make an original Bluetooth connection point on my IBM ThinkPad T41.
    My question is: what is wise to do first, is it wise to check in my ThinkPad to search my wireless component (and how do I do that). Or should order parts in order to make the wifi and Bluetooth work on my ThinkPad. And so where is the best place to buy and witch parts do I need?

    To add Bluetooth you would need to replace the existing modem card with the following FRU; 91P7315 ThinkPad Integrated Bluetooth with 56K Modem (BMDC) for T40/p, T41/p.  Then you would also need to install the Antenna FRU; 13N5515 Bluetooth Wireless Antenna Assembly XGA.

    Did you have a problem at any time with the HDD lenght password?
    I remember my HDD password but problem concern lenght of it.
    I have 14 characters password but when I want to change it in BIOS environment I can not, why? Because BIOS allow MAX 12 characters password.
    I suppose that BIOS was changed after an upgrade?
    Maybe I have set my 14 Characters password from other software ThinkVantage? I do not remember?

    If I remember correctly the "Passphrase" function in security is disabled as BIOS default on the T42; this allows the use of longer passwords. It may be that you had enabled it to enter your password, but a BIOS update has returned the setting to default ??

  • Fan error on IBM thinkpad X60s notebook

           When I switch on IBM thinkpad X60s notebook. I can hear a sound from fan like it is try to move and then stop. After awhile an error "fan error" appear on the screen. I would like to know is it related to fan problem? If yes, Do I need to change a new fan? Actually, this notebook is out of warranty. So what will it cost for fan assembly and the labour charge?     Sounds like you will need another fan installed. If you unit is still under warranty, call your local tech support to assist. I'm not sure about your exact location in Malaysia, but I know that there are some locations in KL.

    i always get fan error at startup in my  ibm thinkpad t42 since 1 week. i press esc key at error and that is the only way my system startup. its not in warranty and will like to try to fix it on my own. please help. i am worried

    Try bblowing some air into the fan lover when the system is off. Then turn the system on and put your hand at the louver to see if it blows air. If this doesnt work, run PC doctor for DOS ( available at  http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-56222) and check the problem. If this doesnt work either, replace the fan.

    Did you try install check CD before the installation?
    I think that there might be two main reasons:
    1. Your computer is not supported
    2. Hard drive may need to be formated to FAT32 or UFS

    I followed the instructions at https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Alsa but I still can't get the sound to work. I get a beep from the pc speaker from the line out and laptop speakers though. I had OSS working which was a bit noisy and I'd rather use alsa anyway. All the alsamixer channels are unmuted except for the external amplifier switch.
    Can anyone help?

    Hi All, I m getting Addon Connection timeout error when connecting addon which is created with crystal reports. I am using single-sign on for connection to company, and using B1DE Addon installer to generate .ard and .exe file. (does firewall have an
