Re; iMovie'11 and Lion OsX 7.2.1 I need quality exported movie on a flash drive.

I shoot with a Nikon and pride myself in crisp clear images with as perfect color saturation as possible.
I edit in iPhot. I do not shoot in RAW very often so my images are jpg
These I use in all iMovies and do not do video.
PROBLEM:
Whenever I export the movie to a flashdrive or to mobile me gallery the resulting copy is totally unappealing
as it is faded, blurry and not exactly like the photos I had edited and worked on for who knows how many hours to create the iMovie.
I am very picky and want it perfect.
I need to know the exact steps to take to get a perfect replica of what I viewed on my iMAC...the movie I reviewed countless times before I am ready to export, burn copy or whatever.
WHAT steps has anyone found that are flawless and will render a perfect copy to place on a flashdrive or upload to mobielme gallery.
Do you use Quick Time and if so what setting do you click. The options are from custom to HD to all sorts of sizes.
I need a cookbook that works.

Format the flash drives with Disk Utility in ExFAT format.

  • When Patch for embedded fonts and Lion OSX to be released?

    Was reading through the thread about the problem with embedded fonts and Lion OSX and a patch being released the 3rd week of August. Does anyone know about the patch being released?

    This patch was released as 11.5.9 a couple of weeks ago. See this thread:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/895280?tstart=0
    You should be able to get it through the Help / Check for Updates menu - but I would definitely be aware that it seems to have created a couple of new issues for some users (documented in other forum posts at forums.adobe.com).

    My assistant and I are using two Lightrooms (i.e. two serial numbers) and need to share between our two computers. I provide originals to her onto a flash drive. She tags them and returns them to me. I then copy the photos from her flash drive onto my computer and load them in my LR. The photos appear but witthout any editing or tagging. We need to be able to have her working on the photos on her computer with her copy of LR and me on my computer with my version of LR being able to access what is already tagged and given back to me. This seems hard. We need advice on if it is at all possible to have two computers simultaneously working on LR . I bought her her own version because I was told at the time of purchasing that that was the only way to share. Please advise urgently! Thanks.

    Sounds like your assistant isn't instructing Lightroom to write the tagging and editing to the files themselves, so wehn the files return to you, they don't have editing and tagging information. She need to select the photos in Lightroom and then Ctrl-S (Cmd-S on Mac). Or alternatively turn on the option to autmoatically write this information to the files.
    If you are using RAW photos, then this information will be written to a sidecar XMP file, and your assistant must provide you with the sidecar file. If these photos are not RAW photos, then the information is written directly into the photo file itself.
    Lightroom wasn't designed to be a multi-user program, and so it is truly not possible to have two people working on the same catalog at once. The way you are doing things, as modified above, is probably the way to go.
    As an alternative, you can transfer (portions of) catalogs as well as photos back and forth and then all of these issues disappear, but a catalog might be rather large for a flash drive (or maybe not, it depends)

  • Photoshop CS4 and Lion OSX

    Hi everyone, I searched a bit for this thread but couldn't find anything, so im posting it.
    I'm about to download Lion OSX on my iMac and i would like to know if there is some problem with the whole CS4. I found something for CS3 and Cs5.5, but nothing about CS4. Is it good? Does it still works fine on Lion as it does for Snow Leopard?
    Thank you very much
    Manuele

    I have Lion installed on a MBP (2.66 Ghz i7 with 8GB RAM) installed as an update on top of a working system. My copy of Photoshop CS4 fully updated with all the java updates etc. Things worked fine until I tried to move the order of a layer, moving a layer below another. Every time I did this PS crashed. Every time. I have to admit that It was a fast session and I haven't done extensive testing (my main machine has not been updated - and won't now) but this crashed it every time I did it.
    *edit* At the suggestion of another poster I just tried it with the key commands and it works with them. Dragging layers does not though. Opacity and Fx and every other thing I've done seems to work in the layer pallette except for draging layers around.

  • I want to install hybrid drive in Macbook pro. I bought my Mac book with lion and am now running mountain lion. I was told I needed install disk to set up new drive before restoring from my time capsule.Is this correct and if so how do I get disk osx10?

    I purchased a Mac book Pro in Aug 2012 with lion and have upgraded to mountain lion. I currently am looking to install the segate 750 gig hybrid drive. I watching video I shows me needing a OSX 10 disk to boot off of when the new disk is in and the use time capsule to restore system from back up drive to new hybrid. Hope I got this correct so far. that being said my Mac Book did not come with a disk therefore is one available, when I get to point of restoring from back up with it be the same mountain lion system I had. Sorr if this sounds redudant.. Thank you in advance

    Connect the new hybrid drive to your MBP.  Start up your MBP holding the OPTION key, the two HDD icons will appear.  Select the 'restore' icon on the right.  When you get to the menu where you have 4 options, select Disk Utility.  Format the drive and then you can use the option of restoring it from Time Machine.
    Ciao.

  • How and where can i get an os installer file to copy to a flash drive

    I replaced a bad hard drive for a friend and need an os to copy to a flash drive cause her cd/dvd is not working

    You purchase the OS, then clone it to the flash drive like here. If we knew what OS you were planning to use, then we could be more specific about what to do.
    Make Your Own Mavericks, Mountain/Lion Installer
    After downloading the installer you must first save the Install Mac OS X application. After the installer downloads DO NOT click on the Install button. Go to your Applications folder and make a copy of the installer. Move the copy into your Downloads folder. Now you can click on the Install button. You must do this because the installer deletes itself automatically when it finishes installing.
       2. Get a USB flash drive that is at least 8 GBs. Prep this flash drive as follows:
    Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
    After DU loads select your flash drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the leftside list. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
    Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list.
    Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
    Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
    Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to an hour depending upon the flash drive size.
       3. Use DiskMaker X to put your installer clone onto the USB flash drive.
    Make your own Mavericks flash drive installer using the Mavericks tool:
    You can also create a Mavericks flash drive installer via the Terminal. Mavericks has its own built-in installer maker you use via the Terminal:
    You will need a freshly partitioned and formatted USB flash drive with at least 8GBs. Leave the name of the flash drive at the system default, "Untitled." Do not change this name. Open the Terminal in the Utilities folder. Copy this command line after the prompt in the Terminal's window:
    sudo /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/Untitled --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app --nointeraction
    Press RETURN. Enter your admin password when prompted. It will not be echoed to the screen so be careful to enter it correctly. Press RETURN, again.
    Wait for the process to complete which will take quite some time.

  • Rescue and Recovery 4.5. Rescue media can't boot from FAT32 64GB flash drive.

    T530 Windows 7. I did a full (base) backup to a 64GB USB flash drive formatted FAT32. R&R started by indicating “Rescue and Recovery Medium being created” and after a few hours finished the backup. When I click on ‘View all backups’ I can see the backup created. I then tested the flash drive to see if it’s bootable but the screen only shows rapidly moving white font gibberish over black background. I did the same as a test on a 8GB USB flash drive formatted NTFS (I had to stop the backup since 8GB was not enough space) but had no trouble booting from it. Both flash drives have the folders: boot, efi, Preboot, RRbackups, tvtos and files: bootmgr, bootmgr.efi, fcopy.ini. In other words, the only difference seems to be that it works with 8GB NTFS but not with 64GB FAT32. Is that the issue or just coincidence?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    The readme file for RNR 4.5.1 states:
    Consideration 7
    Unable to boot from a 64 GB USB memory key
    When you create rescue media on a 64 GB USB memory key and then boot your computer from the memory
    key, an error message is displayed, saying, ?¡ãError loading Operating System.?¡À
    To solve the problem, change the 64 GB USB memory key to one with less storage capacity.
    ===
    The question is.. is your Flash USB a memory key?
    I would reformat  the 64GB to NTFS, then run the Create Rescue Media option onto it.  Then try to boot the USB.
    There is another post out here stating on certain USB sticks, you have to PREFORMAT it,  using diskpart command, before using the Create Rescue Media option..

  • Using Automator and Applescript to search and move files to flash drive

    I've used applescript and automator to do simple tasks like watch folders and move files and rename files, but that is about the extent. I am wondering if it is possible to set up a automator service or app that will do several things.
    When a flash drive is plugged it, it will ask for a file to be searched for, then it will search a predetermined directory for files with the word or number in them and then it will copy the found files to the mounted flash drive.
    Any help would be greatly appriciated!
    Thanks!

    As a start, you can use launchd to run a script when a volume is mounted:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
    <plist version="1.0">
    <dict>
              <key>Label</key>
              <string>com.tonyt.LaunchOnVolMount</string>
              <key>ProgramArguments</key>
              <array>
                        <string>LaunchOnVolMount.sh</string>
              </array>
              <key>QueueDirectories</key>
              <array/>
              <key>StartOnMount</key>
              <true/>
              <key>WatchPaths</key>
              <array/>
    </dict>
    </plist>
    You can then have the LaunchOnVolMount.sh script perform the tasks you need.
    You can incorporate Applescript within the Bash script with osascript:
    #!/bin/bash
    answer=$( osascript -e 'tell app "System Events" to display dialog "What file do you want to search for?" default answer "" ' )
    echo $answer
    I beleive that you can also call an Applescript from launchd

  • Can I select all flagged photos and move to a flash drive

    Can I select all flagged photos and move to Flash Drive as a group rather than drag and drop one pic at a time?

    Hi David,
    One way you can do it is to create a Smart Album, and make the conditions = Photo Is Flagged. That will put all of your flagged photos into a single album. Then you can export that Album to the Flash Drive via File>Export. Once you set up the Export the way you want it, and then click on "Export" it will bring up your Finder Window, allowing you to select the Flash Drive to export to.
    Hope this helps!

  • Format and Partitoin Disk - Difference Between Running TS/LiteTouch.vbs from Desktop Vs. Bootable Flash Drive.

    Hello,
    I have a question about disk formatting. If run our TS from the Run box, the HD is not cleaned. The image will be applied successfully but if there were any extra partitions, HP Recovery partitions for example, they will still be present.
    If run the same TS form a bootable USB drive, the HD is completely erased.
    Can anyone explain the difference in running the TS from the Desktop/Run box vs. running it from a bootable drive?
    Thanks.

    From LiteTouch.log, the DeploymentType is NEWCOMPUTER when run off the flash drive but REFRESH when run from the desktop. LT must detect that its running in an OS and decides not to clean the drive. We do not have DeploymentType set in our
    rules.
    Ah, glad you found it. That's what I was going to suggest, based on what environment the TS runs from.

    Drag them from one hard drive then drop them onto the other. Then you must import them into iTunes in order to sync them to your iPad.

  • How do I connect my iPad wirelessly to my Mac lion osx server to be able to access photos, movies and songs

    I would like to connect my iPad with my Mac server so that I can access songs, movies and photos on the server. How can I do this?

    I think you might be a little confused between iTunes on the iPad and iTunes on the Mac.
    You cannot update iTunes on the iPad separately from the entire operating system on your iPad.
    Its iTunes on your Mac that is not up to date.
    I order to sync an iPad running iOS 6 or later (you indicate yours is on iOS 6.1.3) you must have iTunes 10.7 or later ON YOUR COMPUTER.
    iTunes 10.7 requires a Mac OSX version 10.6.8 or later.
    You indicate that your Mac is running OSX 10.5.8 (Leopard). That's not good enough. You need a Mac with OSX higher than 10.5.8. Depending on which Mac you have you might be able to update the OSX on the Mac to what's needed for iTunes 10.7.
    If you reply here with the type of Mac you have, the type of processor it has and the amount of RAM it has, we might be able to tell you if you can update it and how to do it. Not all macs can be updated to the required OSX version.

  • IMovie HD and Lion

    Will iMovieHD work with Lion?

    There isn't much anyone can do about it; Apple is aware of the problem, but no longer really supports the old version being focused on the latest one. Try to keep saving whatever you've done often just in case it crashes. That is one of the reasons why I keep a fully functioning partition of Snow Leopard around - I do not like the new iMovie, it is not precise enough for editing, so I will keep using the old one. Once it refuses to work in the latest OS - whichever that one might me - I will make my movies using Snow Leopard.....
