"re-importing" Yahoo Mail Contacts

Been using Yahoo Mail for 2 years on my iPhone 4s with my Yahoo Mail contacts also for my phone contacts. Yesterday, they "disappeared" from my phone contacts, and I can not get them to re-import. All settings seem to be right.

You have to do via iTunes. With the iPod connected (wifi or USB), go to the Info pane for the iPod and check the boxes for Synce Address Book Contacts and Sync Yahoo Address Book contacts.

I set up my Yahoo mail account for the Mail on my iPhone 4. However I don't seem to be able to enter my Yahoo mail contacts from there when I want to write and send an e-mail (only my iPhone contacts).

Selective sync process with Yahoo mail contacts in importing them to Windows 8x phone?

"Syncing" (importing) Yahoo mail messages and contacts appears simple. Setting > email etc, select Yahoo and it creates a Yahoo tile and imports individual contacts into People Hub. Except that out some 120 contacts I have in my online Yahoo account only some 50 were brought over. I tried exporting a Microsoft Outlook CSV file to Outlook.com and the same thing happens. A number of such contacts are simple, just a name (letters, numbers, @ sign only) and an email address but they did not make it.
Oh sorry, I bought a new Windows Phone 8x 4G LTE unit that is fantastic....except for this problem.
Anyone has a suggestion how I could bring over the other contacts (so that I do not have to do it manually, one by one, on the phone)?

Found a solution (there may be others): since I read that a problem may be with strange characters/info in my Yahoo Mail contacts, I extrapolated a Microsoft Outlook CSV file from the Yahoo account. Brought the file into a spread sheet and erase all the info except for the individual names and email addresses. Then save the file in the same format. Opened my Outlook.com account, went to People, then 'import from file' and designated this CSV file and it came over without a hitch.

There is no yahoo notepad for iOS. In your yahoo account settings, you can enable sync'ing of your yahoo notes - they will be sync'd with iOS notes application.

Yahoo mail contacts won't load on Firefox 3.6

I am using FF 3.6 on XP. Yahoo mail contacts won't load so I can't access my contacts list for emails, etc.
I am able to successfully open Yahoo mail and view my contacts in IE 7. The contacts tab opens and I can access addresses for email etc.
What's up w/ that?

Ovi Sync versus Yahoo Mail Contacts

Hello,
now that the email migration to yahoo is completed and working, I don't know how to sync of the contacts between my Nokia mobile phone and the new Yhoo Mail contacts.
The Ovi contacts are still there and syncing works as it used to do. But the Yahoo contacts seem to have been migrated just once. So, when I add a contact in my phone, it gets synced to Ovi, but not to Yahoo Mail (and vice versa).
Can I either sync contacts to Yahoo Mail directly, or, have Yahoo Mail access the Ovi contacts? Or are there any plans to consolidate the two contact databases?

I too have been wondering what to do since the import of contacts has been partial. Many contacts have not been included. I hope they do someting about it soon.

I think it could depend on when you first joined yahoo mail.
I joined up a couple of year's ago so did not pay for Yahoo Mail Plus but I regularly download my Yahoo mail.
You could try just making a new account in Mail with the following settings and see if it works?
Incoming Mail Server: pop.mail.yahoo.com
Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
User Name: Your current Yahoo username
Password: Your current Yahoo password
Seems to work fine for me.

Found the answer from another discussion here and it did work in about 2 minutes:
in settings, click mail, contacts , calendars
you need to add two accounts:
one for mail as a Yahoo account
another per the instructions below
Yahoo syncs contacts by adding a CardDAV account:
Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars
Tap Add Account
Tap Other and then tap Add CardDAV Account
For the Server you need to enter carddav.address.yahoo.com
Now type in the Yahoo! ID (full email address) and password you use to sign in to your Yahoo! Contacts
why not all in one? who knows!
Ps. You might have to do several tries with and without the .xxx extesion to the account name

Cannot view yahoo mail contacts

I'm having trouble viewing my contacts information in yahoo mail.
Where I should see a frame with all my contacts listed, all I see is a blank area. IE shows the contacts no problem.

If that doesn't help, and if you haven't already...
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

IPad Air yahoo mail contact not syncing

Three days ago I put one new contact in my Yahoo mail account on my PC.
This contact has not yet appeared on my iPad. All buttons on the iPad mail account are green.
Suggestions welcome.

It could be something that yahoo has done in their perpetual 'improvements'. Beyond removing and readding your info there's not much you can do but wait it out. If Yahoo has broken it, yahoo has to fix it.
In the past I've accessed my yahoo via mobile safari and I believe they also have their own mail app, you may want to explore those as a work around until it resolves.

Yahoo Mail on iphone problem

I do have yahoo mail on my iphone for a while and it was working perfect.
Few days ago I got:
Cannot Get Mail The user name or password for "[email protected]" is incorrect.
I do not have any problem when I login from my PC with same User name and password.
When I try to set up my email from I phone again. Here is what I got:
Cannot Get Mail The user name or password for “imap.apple.mail.yahoo.com” is incorrect.
I can make all my friends’ yahoo mail work on my I phone but only the one mail account used to be working fine does not working now.
Can someone help me?

I've had Yahoo Mail Plus for over 5 years without any problems (Yahoo Mail "Plus" means you pay $20/yr to get POP mail access using a standard mail clients). But since I got my iPhone 3GS, I've been having frequent problems accessing Yahoo Mail from my Mac Mail client, via web browser, etc.. My iPhone replaced a Treo 700p, and I used to have no problems, even with two Mac Mail clients and the Treo accessing my POP mail every 5 minutes. Now, since my frequent problems started, I've cut way back on the POP access on all my mail clients (which Yahoo Support told me to do), but the problem persists.
QUESTION: Do you guys with problems have the standard (free) Yahoo Mail, or Mail Plus with POP access?
THEORY: When I got my new 3GS, it automatically imported the mail settings from my Mac Mail client. However, instead of keeping my POP settings for Yahoo Mail, it changed the setting to the Push/IMAP for my iPhone. The Push settings would be great for most people, but not so much for people with Mail Plus who access mail with POP settings. The problem is, when an email client accesses POP mail, it tells the IMAP mail client that all email has been read (when it's simply been downloaded). I think Apple should not, by default, import Yahoo Mail settings which are set to POP, and then change the settings to IMAP on the iPhone -- at least ask the user before making this change. Anyway, my uneducated theory is that the simultaneous IMAP and POP access to my Yahoo Mail Plus account screwed something up, and now I keep having problems accessing mail. I've since deleted the default Push Yahoo Mail account from my iPhone, and set it up from scratch as a POP account. But my mail problems persist.
Also note that, a detailed debug message I get sometimes (usually with error code 5, though once with error code 20) always list the same date/time, which is really close to when I got my iPhone, and also when my problems started. In my mind, that supports my theory. I've been waiting for Yahoo Support to address this detailed debug report, but they keep on giving vague responses (basically telling me over and over that my issues are due to accessing my mail too frequently).
Here's the error code details I've received when trying to access my Yahoo Mail via web browser (note the date in line 3):
