Re-install failed - Elements 10

PS Elements failed to import files from a Seagull 500G external hard drive which was working properly, PSE 10 was un-installed to try for a positive result. It would not re-install, it did not get past 'shared technologies' before being rolled back. Error(s) DWO 50 and DWO 20 need to be fixed, how can I do this.

Well try force quitting all the Adobe processes. Be those of any other product. Anything with Description starting with Adobe.
Then try re-installing.
Give it a try and let me know.

  • How to install Photoshop Elements 11 on Macbook Pro 10.8.3 after the installer failed to initialize

I tried several times to install Photoshop Elements 11 on my new Macbook Pro (10.8.3) but the installer failed to initialize and the Support Advisor inspection could not identify any issue. I went today to the Apple Store to get help and the Genius guy couldn't resolve the problem either. He told me to contact Adobe Support and he gave me an Adobe token number.
Does anyone knows how can I resolve this problem? Any help would be truly appreciate it!!!
    Thanks a lot!!!

  • Installer failed to initialize. Installing PS Elements 10 to a MacBook Air

I am trying to install Photoshop Elements to my MacBook Air and I get the following error:
Installer failed to initialize. Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem.
I did and it can not seem to find any issues.
    Help.

I called into support last night because I am an impatient type and expect better response time. I was told the disk I had was damaged and I would have to download the file. I expected to at least to get a replacement disk as I just bought the program. I was told I have to pay to get the disk.
This whole thing is so frustrating.
I did at least get the program up and running.

Im trying to install Photoshop Elements premier 12 on my new Mac with the latest update and i keep getting the same failed to initialise message. I was able to register the key code at first but now im not able to either open the program or reinstall it.

What is "Photoshop Elements Premier 12"? Do you mean Photoshop Elements or Premiere Elements? Were your files copied over from a previous mac that had PSE installed on it?

    Hi,
Could you please share the logs from the location(s) mentioned below:
    %temp%\PREInstall.log, PRE11.log,
    PDApp.log,
    amt.log,
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Installers\<*PRE11*>.log.gz
I'd be able to comment & suggest better once I have the logs but meanwhile, you might like to upgrade the Adobe Application Manager from the following location just to rule out any incompatibilities or upgrade failures of AAM:
    Win: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4773
    Mac: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4774
    Thanks.

  • I can't install Komplete Elements. I got the message Install Failed. The following install step failed: Run postflight script Kontakt 5 Content.

When I tried to install the free copy of Komplete Elements that came with my Komplete Audio 6 Interface I got the message : Install failed. The following install step failed :Run postflight script 5 Content. I was able to insall the Audio 6 drivers but didn't choose to load Traktor or Cubase LE because I use Garageband.
I have a Macbook. Running version 10.5.8. GHz Intel Core 2 Duo.
I tried the url their tech support sent me but that didn't work either.
If this is not the right forum please redirect me.

Thanks for answering. The weird part is that I was able to install Audio 6 and record my bass but Elelements won't install at all. When I orginally ordered it the site said that Elements would run on 10.5.8 but I guess you're right. I am going to have someone check it out later today. I'll let you know what happens. If you only want the Audio 6 Interface they sell it for $229 at Music123. I shouldn't complain because Elelements was free but the more I looked into it the more I became interested.. Another strange thing is that I told Komplete tech support I had 10.5.8 and they never told me it wouldn't work.

  • Install of Elements trial fails when installing Shared Technologies

Have tried installing the Elements 10 trial on both an XP Pro and a Win7 Pro PC and have the same problem.
Install of trial fails when installing Shared Technologies and then rolls back the install of the Elements Organiser.
Anyone seen this before?   Any ideas?

Can you please make your question a seperate thread?
It would be helpful if you could please provide us the install log for it. Install logs can be found at C:\Program Files(x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Installers\ with name Elements STI Installer 1.0 <date>.log.gz
Use a decompression utility such as Winzip to uncompress the .gz file. Once uncompressed, you will have a new file without the .gz extension. The filename could now be something like "Elemens STI Installer 1.0 11-21-2012.log."
Open the .log file using notepad
Copy the whole log and paste it here.

  • Elements 13 install fails on my Mac

I purchased the CD disk for Elements 13 and have tried to install it on my Macbook Pro, which has the OSX 10.8.5 operating system and 4 GB of RAM. I've made two attempts at installing it and each time, when it got to 99 % installed, suddenly the install failed and the CD disk was ejected. I had to use my Elements serial number for each install even though neither install worked. Now I'm wondering: Why won't the install work? And have I used up my two installs for this Elements serial number uselessly? At the moment I am not fond of this Adobe product.

You mean downloading rather than uploading, right? You can't exactly do that. The photo downloader in PSE/mac has to be launched manually each time you use it. But you can do this:
Go to the iphoto prefs>General>Connecting Camera Opens>No Application.
That will stop your photos going to iphoto. Now if you want the pics in the organizer instead, just go to Organizer>File>Get Photos>From Cameras and Card Readers, and bring them in that way, or just drag the folder with images in it from the card (it will mount on your desktop after you turn off that iphoto pref), put them where you want them, and use file>get phots>from files and folders to import them.

  • "Failed to initialize" error message when installing Photoshop Elements 12

    Hi,
I kepe getting an error message when trying to install Photoshop elements 12. I have re-downloaded the files multiple times from different places and none work so I know it isn't a corrupted file. Tried a system restart. Tried using support advisor but it found no issues.
I'm running Mac OS X 10.9 on a 2012 Macbook Pro that meets system requirements.
    Any help is greatly appreciated

I have gone through the install logs and the error I am getting is 'PIM - Error could not create PIM Common Folder Path'. I have gone to the PDApp folder and it does not have any permissions on it. I have gone to the folder PDApp and it doesn't have any permissions, I'm not sure what to do from here. The PDApp folder is a alias that leads to the Adobe Application Managers folder. Sorry for the font being bold, it wouldn't turn off after pasting the error message.

  • Error message when installing Photoshop Elements 13 : Installer Failed to initialize

I am trying to install Photoshop Elements 13 on a PC with Windows 8.1. I can't run the Adobe Support Advisor because it is no longer available. Can a Adobe expert get in touch? Forums are sometimes not adequate to find solutions.

Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe and delete/rename the OOBE folder from there.
Then install Adobe application manager from the below link:

  • Installing Pre Elements 11  Error: Shared Technologies have failed to install

    Hi,
having problems installing Pre Elements on my windows 7 laptop.
I'm trying to install the 64bit version as I'm running 64bit windows 7.
I've been working my way though this web page to find a solution to the error...
    http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/troubleshoot-installation-photoshop-elements- premiere.html
First up, I had the demo version of Elements (which installed and ran perfectly), which I uninstalled before installing the purchased product from Adobe, and re-downloaded the installs from the Adobe shop servers.
I have currently also have a CS6 installation on my laptop.
I ran the ASA tool and all it sees is my CS6 installation.
I went though the windows Program file directories and made sure all Elements stuff was deleted.
I've checked the MSCONFIG to see what Adobe services are running at startup, and I turned off everything that was associated with Adobe.
I've copied the downloaded installer exe and packaged file to a folder on the C: root.
I'm running the installer from there and when it unpacks the files I make sure it unpacks them to the same directory in the C:
The problem seems to be with the 'shared components. The install gets most of the way through installing the Organizer when it quits and rolls back the installation.
No extra info is given by the installer on why it has run into a problem.
I've tried to install Photoshop elements too and that stalls at the same point.
    Thanks.

  • Premier Elements 10 Install fails on Win 7 64bit.

I purchased the Photoshop/Elements 10 bundle on black friday and have installed photoshop elements. When I download Premier it says it can't install on Win 7 64 bit. The download page says the same thing. Where can I get a 64 bit version of the software I purchased?

    Welcome to the forum.
I have not explored the download versions of the program, but with the media version, there are two different versions of PrE - the 32-bit and the 64-bit (only for Windows). Then, there is a disc with the Functional Content, that needs to be installed after the program.
My guess would be that on the download site, there will be two Windows versions, the 32-bit and the 64-bit, but have not been there. I would begin my search there. If you cannot find the 64-bit version, I would contact Adobe Customer Service, and ask for the exact URL for the 64-bit version.
Good luck, and maybe others will know exactly where the 64-bit version is located, plus what the download file's name is.

  • Windows 7 install failing on brand-new Apple-replaced harddrive

I just got my (8-week-old) computer back from Apple, with a brand new hard drive. Before restoring all my files, I figured I'd get Boot Camp installed so the partitions are set, etc.
Every time I try, the Windows 7 install fails about 10% of the way in, with either a 0xC0000005 error (installation sources are unaccessible) or a 0x80070005 error (the only Apple support document about this talks about an upgrade from Vista, which isn't what I'm doing).
Reading posts, I disconnected my USB hub, and this time I got a BSOD with this error:
    iRQLNOT_LESS_OREQUAL
In between tries, I used Disk Utility to remove the boot camp partition, and reset my Mac partition to use the whole drive, so that I could start cleanly with Boot Camp Installer. The one time I tried to launch in Windows and repair, it brought me to the "click any key to launch from DVD" but hitting a key did nothing.
I've installed Boot Camp and Windows 7 twice before with this install DVD, and multiple other times with other DVDs/computers.
Ideas? I'm thinking there's something other than a bad hard drive that was wrong with my computer.

Only by either installing Windows on your iMac as a separate partition through Bootcamp, or setting up a virtual Windows machine via the likes of VMWare Fusion, or Parallels Virtual or Desktop.
Factor in the cost of Windows and I think you'll find a new copoy of Mac Photoshop Elements would be cheaper.
You could also try the excellent Graphic Converter from lemkesoft, or the open-source Gimp,

Did you remove the bits of the failed install before going on? Try creating a new admin account for the install. If that doesn't work, try doing a fresh download from Adobe's site. Even if you bought the boxed version you can install the trial and enter your serial number.
