Re-install failed to correct missing lsapw32.dll.

When I open Adobe Reader, I'm presented with a window containing the  following message:
"This application has failed to start because lsapw32.dll was not found.  Re-installing the application may fix this problem."
I then click that window closed and am presented with another, quite  similar window containing the same message.  When I click the second  window closed, Adobe Reader is opened.
To "fix the problem," I un-installed Adobe Reader, then downloaded it  again from the adobe.com Web site, and installed it.  It didn't fix the  problem.  Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks.

If the above doesn’t do the trick entirely, then use the instructions in the following as it applies to the version of Windows you are using:
HT1925: Removing and Reinstalling iTunes for Windows XP
HT1923: Removing and reinstalling iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
You may be required to boot into safe mode to complete the folder deletion process.

  • I did the recommended re-install to resolve the missing MSVCR80.dll file. This worked, but I am now stymied by two error messages: "Apple Mobile Device failed to start" and "Apple application support not found". How to overcome?

That worked, however I now get two error messages when I install I Tunes:
o  Apple Mobile Device failed to start.
o  Apple Application Support not found.
This were of course deleted in the recommended re-install procedure to resolve the dll file, but repeated uninstalls and installs simply bring up these two error messages with a recommendation to install I Tune again. Installing the new I Tunes version seems to be problematic per the discussion groups and has no simple solution. SHould not the Genius bar be able to resolve this at an Apple Store? Want to buy a new I Phone 5S, but this problem effectively stymies this.

  • Install fails because file missing from AppleMobileDeviceSupport.cab file

I have iTunes on my Desktop PC and my wife's laptop, both running Windows 7 x64 Ultimate.  Automatic iTunes update failed on both with same error.  On trying to manually install latest iTunes downloaded from Apple UK website I get the following error message:
"The file 'SyncServicesUI.Resources_English.lproj_Localizable.strings' cannot be installed because the file cannot be found in cabinet file 'AppleMobile DeviceSupport.cab'
Any ideas on how to fix please?  Previous version of iTunes was working fine but attempted update seems to have killed it.   Wondering if I should try US version instead.

    My previous actions were:
    0. Tried the Download and Install -- Windows installer just sat there. No progress.
    1. Downloaded the jdk-1_5_0_07-windows-i586-p.exe file. Took 5 hours. Checked the file size: 64,949KB matched what the website said.
    2. Installed the jdk-1_5_0_07-windows-i586-p.exe file to my D drive in the jsdk1.5.0_07 folder.
    3. Set the path to the d:\jsdk1.5.0_07\bin folder.
    4. Tried to compile a java file. Received the "javac is not a recognized internal or external command." message.
    5. Used Window's Search to search all harddrives for javac.exe. Received two hits, but they were from an Oracle installation (version 1.1.3) -- been there several years.
    6. Thought it was a bad install, so uninstalled as directed.
    7. Repeated steps 2 through 6 three more times. Still no javac.exe
    8. Posted the message.
    9. Went back to download site and tried the Download and Install again. Took about twenty minutes before any progress was evident -- guess I didn't wait long enough before :^). Left the download all night (8 hours). This morning, accepted the license agreement, installed, searched for javac*.exe again. Found javacpl.exe, but only the Oracle javac.exe. Uninstalled Java.
    10. Uninstalled Oracle (thought the existence of a javac.exe in another location was confusing the installer).
    11. Installed from the downloaded file. Searched for javac*.* again. Found the javacpl.exe (two versions -- one in the bin, one in the jre) and a dll file in the C:\Windows folder. Still no javac.exe.

How do I correct Install failed "APS DAEMON.EXE error. MSVCR80.dll missing" and "iTunes not installed correctly. Error 7

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

My iTunes update install failed. Error message says MSVCR80.dll is missing from my comuputer. What is that and where do I get it?

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

  • When I try to install iTunes 64bit on wndows 7 I get "missing dll" message and install fails...Help!

When I try to install iTunes 64bit on wndows 7 I get "missing dll" message and install fails.
I have restarted my PC. Redownloaded the installer from apple. Checked the hash thingy etc...nothing seems to work...

I am glad you left this up here: nowhere does the error say what the problem is, other than a "missing .dll file." I have seen several other people cite the same issue in detail, but the only responses seems to be 'snarky' -- that the person didn't give enough detail, and that they aren't mind readers.

  • This application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

I recently tried to download the latest version of iTunes, but an error occured during the process. It was recommended that i reinstall iTunes to attempt to correct that problem. After I attempted to reinstall, an error came up with the title "iTunes.exe - Unable to locate component." the body of the error message read "This application  has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem." When I click "Ok", another error message pops-up reading "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 126)". I tried reinstalling iTunes 3 times now, each time with the same result. What is going wrong, and what do I need to do?

Kappy, I completely overlooked your original response due to it's small, one line nature and poor UX design of the area surrounding the message area.
Upon following the complete instructions linked from the link you posted (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US), my first attempt resulted in everything being installed except for iTunes. So trying yet again.
I do have Safari for Windows Vista installed, which is why I could not delete everything in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\ folder. I'm guessing this is Apple's way of completely removing Safari Win from history (there's always an under-the-table reason when something like this happens with Apple installs, they just won't say it publicly). Uninstalling Safari. Uninstalling Safari removes the remaining "Internet" files from C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\
Uninstalling iCloud. Uninstalling MobileMe Control Panel that was never used. That leaves only QuickTime installed as an Apple product on my machine.
Just for the record, I did not have this folder: C:\Program Files\iPod\
    Emptied the Recycling Bin.
    Shut down and fresh start-up.
Install attempt again: results in the installer saying something interrupted it (no other programs open)
Installing again immediately after error: Success
Clearly there are issues with this installer.
A pop-up shows up with "The registry settings used by the iTunes drives for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burining software. Please reinstall iTunes"
No other CD burning software installed other than what came pre-installed by Gateway and a install of Windows Vista Pro (or whatever the top expensive one was called).
iTunes launched. iTunes Library, items like Movies & Music, and playlists are still intact and usable.
Good thing I don't have these issues on my Macs (ahem, which is why these errors are allowed to persist by Apple to discourage Microsoft/Windows/PC use and purchase, all about the money and Apple has become the non-caring giant it once sought to overthrow as the underdog, miss those days).
Thanks Kappy. Thanks for the time suck Apple.
