Re-Install Missing Apps

Is there a way to re-install individual missing apps (Apple DVD Player and Apple Mail) either from the install disc or a download site? Please don't ask how they went missing.

Dave,
Welcome to Apple Discussions.
What happens in Vegas...
Pacifist 2.0.1 is a shareware application that opens Mac OS X .pkg package files, .dmg disk images, and .tar, .tgz, and .tar.gz file archives and allows you to extract individual files and folders out of them. This is useful, for instance, if an application which is installed by the operating system becomes damaged and needs to be reinstalled without the hassle of reinstalling all of Mac OS X.
After you reinstall your applications, from your installation disks you should download and reinstall the Mac OS X 10.3.9 Combo Update to ensure that you have the most recent versions of your reinstalled applications.

  • Adobe Creative Cloud app not displaying already installed apps and can't install new apps Mac OS 10.9

    Hi,
I've been using the new Adobe Creative Cloud 2014 for a couple weeks now perfectly fine, until yesterday. I use Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects quite extensively. This morning, I opened the Adobe CC app and all but Adobe Acrobat Pro show installed.  The other already installed apps have buttons to "install" but clicking this button shows the "Exit Code: 7 - Unable to complete Silent workflow" error in the logs. Ive tried disabling my Sophos antivirus program and restarted several times.  The already installed applications themselves seem to function normally, they open and work projects. I've even tried to uninstall one of the already installed programs (Bridge) and it fails to uninstall, saying I need to restart my computer and disengage my anti-virus, which I've done. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the Adobe CC app as well, and have the same result.  Help.

So I've completed the solutions listed in the help article with no changes. Here is how it has gone with each solution listed in the article. Also, it is not clear in the article whether these steps are to be done in sequence or may solve the problem individually, but since Solution 1 fails for me, doing them in sequence was impossible.
Solution 1: Mac OS: Run the uninstaller in the Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder to remove the program listed as up-to-date.
This does not work because uninstalling any of these applications does not work. As I stated in the post, the uninstaller for all of my adobe applications (photoshop, bridge, indesign etc) throws the same error each time saying I need to: restart my computer (done) close all applications (done) and disable my antivirus (done, which was fully engaged when I installed the apps originally with no issue) and disable my firewall (done, I don't use one). Not sure what I'm missing on that, plus its a real bummer that I need to reinstall all of my CC apps even if the uninstaller did work because my creative cloud app won't recoginize they've been installed.
Solution 2: Remove the OPM.db file and relogin into the Creative Cloud desktop application using the Adobe ID tied to your subscription.
    This did nothing.
Solution 3: Download and install the latest version of Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app from Creative Cloud for desktop.
    This did nothing.
Solution 4: See the steps listed in Solution 1 to remove all installed Adobe Creative software. Once all Adobe Creative software has been removed, use the CS Cleaner Tool to ensure a complete removal.  You can find details in Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6.
This did not do much because I can't uninstall the software to begin with.
    What am I missing?

  • HT201460 Installing Free Apps in a Supervised iPhone

Hi, I've been trying without success to install Free Apps using the Apple Configurator into an iPhone.
I create a profile and settings as a Supervised device and added an app I download using iTunes (for example, Uber).
When I click prepare, it works fine, all the restrictions are applied. My Enterprise app installs just fine as well.
However, adding an app downloaded from the AppStore does not. Clicking on the Supervise section, and Refresh, seems to install the app on the device, I can see the icon in the Home Screen, but as soon as the refresh process ends, the app disappers. There's no error, no log, nothing.
The Configurator, iTunes and the device through iCloud are all logged in using the same AppleID.
Performing this deployment but being Unsupervised works, but does not apply all the restrictions that I need, so that's not what I want.
Is there anything I am missing?

I take it you're not french so you can't translate that for us right? Anyways, the new iPhone is registered with the same iTunes user account correct? First, click on Store at the top and sign out of your account. Second, click on the Store at the top and deauthorize computer. Third, restart your computer. Fourth, click on the Store at the top again and sign in with your account. Fifth, click on the Store at the top and Authorize Computer.
Let me know if that works.

  • How to restore missing apps after a itunes sync?

    Have iPhone 4   iOS 4.2.8
To install an app (Skype), my phone recommended I do it thru iTunes 10.5.2 (via usb tether)
Checked the sync box, selected the Skype app after I downloaded it in iTunes.
The sync process went thru a bunch of 'finding, removing, backing up' of my installed APPs.
When it was done, all my installed APPs were gone from my iPhone.
Tried doing the 'Restore' function, I believe.
That went thru some dialogs, but still no APPs were restored to my iPhone.
Some blogs say to use the 'Purchased' icon in the APP STORE app on the iPhone; there is no 'Purchased' icon. (there used to be, but not now)
Prior to Sycing I had more than 15 updates to install. I no longer have any updates, as the apps are gone I suppose.
Is there a back up of my iPhone APPS on my computer? The dialogs that were running and identifying the APPs that I have instaleld leads me to believe that iTunes was making a backup ,and that everything was fine.
    Where are my APPs?
    Thanks!

When, if ever, was the last time you synced your phone with that computer? It sounds to me like you either set up a new sync relationship with a computer other than the one you normally sync to, or you set up a sync relationship for the first time since you got your phone. In either case, you apparently did not read the warning dialogs that popped up telling you that your phone would be erased and the contents would be replaced with what was in iTunes on the computer.
You're going to have to re-download the apps that you're missing now. It's easiest to do this from the computer (especially now that you have a sync relationship established).
On the phone, open the app store. Click on updates. Click on purchased. Select "Not on This iPhone" and donwload the ones you want.

  • Missing apps after reinstallation

    Hi,
I reinstalled the Nokia Belle on N8 after there was some space issue based on recomnedation from Customer support i am missing Need for speed application. I checked in Nokia Ovi store app i can find it , if i restore my backup i will still be having space issue on C i think. any suggestions are welcome.
    Regards
    K.R
    KR

If you mean Need For Speed tha comes pre-loaded with N8-00,
and you lost it after the belle update, then its pretty Normal.
Suggestions(as you said): If you backed up via Nokia Suite then there are 100% chances that you will face the same space issues again.
To avoid these, Restore the BackUp you took.
Then connect you phone in Mass Storage mode & manually move all the files in your PC. from E:/ & F:/ both.
Now! do a hart reset & also format your Mass memory & memory card.
This will clean up all your space.
Now again connect phone in Mass storage mode.
And manually move your back-up files in your phone from PC.
NOTE: Do not move folder's like - cities, data, i18n, Nokia_Belle, tmp, logs, private etc.
As these are used by Built-in Apps & other 3rd party apps. So no need to backup those folders, as they will be auto created when you start installing fresh apps.
Always install apps, games, themes In your Mass memory or Memory card.
Always reserve C:/ for Nokia apps only.
In Love with Nokia, Symbian & N8-00

  • Clean install of Apps in Leopard

I know I am probably missing something here, but here is what I think I want to do, just not sure how...
    My goal:
Just received new Mac Pro Dual 2.8 (early 2008).
It has Leopard installed on an included 320-Gig Hard Drive.
I have a WD 750-Gig Hard Drive that I want to install and make the boot drive (replacing the 320).
I want to install fresh copies of all my (many) applications on this new system.
    My questions:
    1. What is the best way to install Leopard to this new empty WD 750-Gig drive? Boot from install CD's after pulling the 320 out?
    2. How to I go about installing Commercial software into Leopard when all I have are either CDs before Leopard was released (like Adobe CS3 apps) or pre-Leopard downloads? (i.e. in the case of CS3 will the pre-Leopard installer install the CS3 software and then allow me to update all those apps on the new system via the Internet, or do I need new Leopard installers? I haven't seen any? I see lots of Leopard "updates" that I have run on my old computer still in Tiger OS, but how do I do a Clean Install of apps on the new machine where I have to start over from scratch?)

I am in a similar situation as the original poster.
I believe the answer is that yes, it makes sense to put the new drive in an empty bay, do a clean install of Leopard onto it, then try to boot to it once the install is up and running. Once the install is complete, it should start the Migration Assistant in which you may be able to bring your old apps and settings from the drive in bay #1 (or Time Machine).
If you have the time, it probably is worth it to do a fresh install of your third-party apps. I do not look forward to the hours it takes to install Final Cut Studio, but again -- it makes good sense and is required to be installed on the boot drive.
As for the question about compatibility. Other than programs that are PowerPC based (Universal Binary), you should be fine with the Migration assistant and then a simple "Software Update" after a successful reboot. This worked when the Mac Genius migrated my drive from my G5 Quad-Core to my Mac Pro. They did not go through and update my third-party apps, but it did not take long to track down the Intel-based downloads when necessary. For example, I run ArchiCAD and it is a different install for Intel-based Macs. The PowerPC edition was still migrated over and this is one reason I look forward to a fresh install on the new 1TB drive.
As soon as I finish a couple video projects, I will be performing the surgery.
If any of the gurus here have first-hand experience that puts my plan to shame, please speak up!

  • How to install missing plugins for flash player

Hi,  My name is rebecca and i am in school for Computer information technology.  I have a Dell Intel Pentium Processor.  It has a 32 bit operationg system and 4.0 gb of ram  I just recently added mozilla firefox to my computer then i tried to download Adobe flash player to my computer on mozilla firefox but the top of the screen always states Install Missing Plug-ins.  However it does not let me know what those plugins are please help me to get adobe flashplayer on my mozilla firefox?

Hi, First make sure you are using the Administrator Account. Download and SAVE to your Desktop this Flash Player Installer for Firefox:
    http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe
Close all browser windows, disable an app in the system tray that uses Flash, messenger services, Anti-Virus that runs in realtime.
RUN the Installer from your Desktop and then Reboot your computer.
Test here and if you see the animation and the version number, then Flash Player has been Installed correctly.

  • Updated to 1.4 and can't install any apps.

I upgraded to 1.4 and everything seems to work correctly, except that I can't install any apps on the phone.
All of my previously downloaded apps are missing. If I check in the My Application section of the App Catalog, it says "You have no applications installed".
When I view an app I've purchased, the App Catalog shows the "Download for free" button. When I click it, I get the following error popup.
I am a developer and also cannot install using Palm-Install (SDK) or Eclipse.
Is there a 1.4 WebOS Doctor available somewhere? I'd hate to have to Doctor back to 1.3.5 and then upgrade again, especially if it didn't fix the problem.
    Thanks
    This question was solved.

It sounds like to me something "odd" is going on, and you need to directly contact Palm Support, as they can look at your account and perhaps see what is going on.
I've just upgraded, and see none of what you're seeing.  All apps still there, can install apps, don't see the pop-up you posted a screenshot of.  Sounds like to me something is going on with your Palm Profile account.
FWIW, the 1.4 Doctor is up now, via www.palm.com/rom.

  • Reinstalling missing apps question

A couple of weeks ago I had a problem as a new creative cloud subscriber which was resolved with help here:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1159837
In the process of resolution a tech support fellow in India advised me to remove everything in my iMac that was related to Adobe and start fresh. Tech support did not mention the Adobe cleaner tool that I learned about later reading posts here. So I just uninstalled all the apps that had uninstallers but with Acrobat XI Pro and Muse and maybe one or two more apps ( these did not have uninstallers) I merely dragged them into the trash.
So I was mostly successful reinstalling creative cloud apps but now my Adobe Application Manager says that Muse and Acrobat XI Pro are up to date but they are actually not installed.
How do I reinstall these missing apps and also get Adobe Application Manager in sync with my iMac ?
Thank you again for your help in advance.  I am cautious about too much tinkering in these delicate realms.
    Thomas

    Hi again and thanks,
I followed your instructions and a fresh list of applications appeared.
I successfully downloaded apps I did not have : Muse, Lightroom, Touch App Plugins but Acrobat XI Pro "installation failed."  I tried twice.
Firefox came up and opened a file :      file:////tmp/6F0641F2-9379-4BE7-AA6D-2000B4644F21/Summary.htm
    Exit Code: 7
Please see specific errors below for troubleshooting.  For example, ERROR:
    -0 fatal error(s), 0 error(s)
Also, I have all the rest of the other Creative Cloud apps installed already.  Should I leave Adobe App Manager as it is now wherein it says " install " by each of my already installed applications.  Or should I close the app manager as it is?
I will leave AAM open on my desktop until I hear further.
    Thanks.
    Thomas

  • How do I install all apps in my library on a new iPad?

I feel really stupid and assume I'm missing something very basic. I have over 800 apps in my iTunes library and I just bought a new iPad that I want to install them on. When I connect it and go to the Apps tab for the iPad in iTunes, I see all my apps listed there. But when I sync nothing copies over. I see the button that says install new apps but my 800 apps aren't new. I see a button next to each app saying "install" but no main button like on the music, movies, etc. tabs that turns the whole category on. Am I expected to hit the install button for all 800 apps individually? Please tell me I'm missing something really basic.

  • This restored my missing apps after belle update (...

I see a few people with missing Apps after installing Belle, so as I seem to have stumbled upon a solution I thought I'd post it to help a few people out.
I removed my memory card and then reran the Belle installation process from Nokia Suite.
All the apps that were missing after the several previous times I ran the update, are now on my phone.
Hope this works for a few other people too!

this was the obvious first thing I did. It did not work for me.

  • How to install a app to use accents

I bought a new Imac and I am trying to install a app or something to use the accents the same way it use on a PC. I tryed to install a US International Keyboard and it is still not working.... What should I do?
    Thank you,

What's the problem with holding the alt key?
Frankly, your way is no easier than mine.
Again: it is not about availability, nor keyboard layout. You keep missing the point. I very much doubt if if you tried 'my way' or understood how it works.
(I hope you're not dragging me in a silly fanboy discussion, but I waste some time anyway:)
The Mac way is like this:
Suppose you write in, say, Portuguese, just like the OP, you may need a couple of hundreds of accents a day. And you're going to write "limão," (that's lime, you can put that in your "cachaça" to make a delicious "caipirinha").
At Apple they've thought up that the tilde above the "a" in "limão" is a Spanish thing that you'd find above a "n" ("ñ"). While in Portuguese there isn't such "ñ," you'd have to think of that to type "alt+n" before you type the "a" in "limão" to get a tilde on the "a" ("ã").
I would call that absurd even before knowing how it works on Windows.
Resuming: it's 1: think something really strange, 2: type one of your many remembered key combinations (alt+n in this case) and 3: type the character.
I give you another one: if you want "água" (still Portuguese: water - if you don't like that "caipirinha"), to get the acute accent, at Apple they think quick and easy is typing "alt+e" - remember you don't want an "e" at all - and next the "a" to get "á."
Of course you can remember all these odd combinations and you can learn to type them fast and you can do that every day a couple of hundreds times. (It's probably not different than getting used to any other OS quirk.)
The Windows way (on a Mac):
"Limão" the Windows way on a Mac (set your keyboard as I explained in my earlier post) is just:
1: type the accent ("~") and 2: type the character "a," that's it period. The result is "ã."
When you don't like all this speed, or if you just like it your way, you do it your way.

  • Missing apps since upgrading to version 4.5

I lost a number of important applications when I upgraded.  Moreover, I messed up and did not backup ( or couldn't find it if I did).  I no longer have tasks, maps, or the ability to open attachments in Word and PDF.  Instead, I have a bunch of instant messaging apps I don't want.  Is there any way to get the missing apps back without having to redo everything?

the backup should have been saved in MY DOCUMENTS. This can restore data but not programs
docs2go, tasks, maps, bbmessenger, memo, those are all part of the device software.
You can open DTM click on application loader, click on update, it will find the same 4.5 software that you just installed, and give you a check list, scroll the check list and find your programs. pput in a check mark and continue. then it will install those few apps. Dont worry it wont reinstall everything.

The license for apps from the Mac App Store (MAS) allows you to install the app on as many Macs as you own or have in your control, such as a Mac from an employer or educational institution.
