After a computer re-image due to virus I need to re-install photoshop cs5. I downloaded from my adobe account and the installer runs but nothing. no error message no install. please help
Barb777 which operating system are you using? I would recommend you begin by using the available uninstallers and then run the CC Cleaner tool. Installing Adobe Photoshop CS5 in Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

Just wanted to know if there are any problems installing Adobe Photoshop CS5 in Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit?
Planning to purchase a laptop that comes with the OEM license and plan to use 64-bit OS to maximize the 8GB RAM of memory. Just afraid if there are known issues for this type of installations.

Be aware that two versions of Photoshop will be installed 32 bit and 64 bit. The 32 bit is there for legacy reasons with some plugins e.g. TWAIN scanner

My mid 2011 27" iMac has 8GB of RAM installed. Photoshop CS5 > Preferences > Performance > Memory Usage tells me that I have 2100MB (ie 2.1GB) of Available RAM - which is ridiculous. When I use DiskWarrior to defragment Time Machine it tells me that "The directory of the disk "Time Machine" cannot be rebuilt. There is not enough memory".
The same setup but with my old 24" plastic bodied iMac with the max of 3GB of RAM has no trouble at all with Disk Warrior and Photoshop CS5 tells me there is 2866MB of Available RAM. Something is not quite right.

What is your current UEFI/BIOS Version?
The usual cause of such problems is (apart from bad memory slots or a defect of the processor's memory controller) a contact problem between the boards CPU Socket contact pins and the CPU's contact pads. Broke or bent pins are one explanation, in other instances a heatsink that is fastened to tight can also cause such issues.
I'll have the BIOS version up in a moment, but I'll see about diagnosing if one of those problems might just be what is my problem. Any tips on doing that?

Can you Install Adobe Photoshop CS5 on Win 8 with no disc.
I recently acquired a HP ENVY Touchsmart 15 Notebook PC, which comes with Windows 8. I am currently attempting to transfer my programs from my old computer (which was Windows 7) to my new computer, which includes re-installing Adobe Photoshop CS5.
However, as this computer that I currently have doesn't have a CD drive (I was not aware of this as it was a gift), I am unable to put in the CS5 installation CD. I still have all of my licensing information, though. So, that leaves me with the following questions: Is it possible to install CS5 without a disc? And if so, does Windows 8 even support CS5?You can download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.

You should be able to find the installation file to download, along with your serial number by logging on to your Adobe account, providing you registered it originally. You are allowed two activations at any one time, but you will have lost one unless you managed to deactivate CS5 before the crash, (which seems unlikely).
If you have already used two activations, you'll need to contact Customer support and ask them to reset it for you. Be warned they are busy at the moment, so you may have to wait a while on the phone. -
I recently purchased an iMac with Maverick system. I want to install my Photoshop CS5 on it, is that okay?
Then I want to update it to CS6 without the iCloud purchase monthly (don't want that, want a one time charge)???As per System requirements | Photoshop, PS is not officially supported on Maverick and you might face several compatibility issues as well. However, we have many users who are still using CS5 on Mavericks. So, if you want you can give it a try and check it for your self.
As far as CS6 is concerned, you can get PS CS6 perpetual version easily from Adobe.com Creative Suite 6

Installing Adobe Photoshop cs5
I uninstall Adobe Photoshop cs5 extended and install again but when I try to open this program it shows me " The application failed to initialize properly(0xc000001d.) how can iI sort this problem could anybody help me ?
Trash the PS preferences and try again. Hold down Ctrl+Alt+Shift while the program starts. Also remove any third-party plug-ins and extensions that may cause conflicts.

None of my fonts install into photoshop cs5. why?
I had my computer repaired a few months ago by Mac Medics and ever since my photoshop will not install fonts. Its photoshop cs5. I have an osx 10.6.8 system. The fonts install fine in all other adobe and microsoft programs. I tried doing what several of the forums online suggested and nothing is working. Am I missing something? I have reinstalled photoshop. I have done the Application Support route, I have emptied caches. I'm trying to fix it myself before i call MMac Medics. Ideas?

Most "well behaved" (designed to Apple standard coding practices) applications use the fonts directly out of OS X's own font library, but Photoshop has some old code that builds and uses its own font library. One of Adobe's contributions to their reputation of being a memory hog. IIRC Photoshop Elements and InDesign both have a much newer code base and use the system font library. Why this is creating a problem for you only Adobe knows for sure.

That, my friend, is called a full blown kernel panic and those can be a real bear to diagnose unless they are reliably repeatable. While kernel panics can be caused by software problems the most common causes are a bad CPU, a bad logic board, or bad RAM. I hope you either have Applecare or Mac Medics has you covered under a service warranty on their work as a new CPU or logic board can get pricey! -
Photoshop CS5 problem opening programme
I have just tried several times to open up Photoshop CS5 version on my Mac, but keep getting a request to install legacy Java SE 6 runtime, which I have now done
but every time I try to open photoshop again the same message keeps coming up and still the programme will not open
Have you any advice on how I can get around this problem?Prompted to install Java SE 6 Runtime | Mac OS 10.9

Issue during install of Photoshop CS5 - files do not completely extract.
"A problem occurred while extracting some files. Check available space on your computer and the write privileges on the destination folder" - trying to install Photoshop CS5 after hard drive crashed. New install of Windows 7 64bit. Downloaded install files and get this message part way through the extraction.
are you installing on a partition less than 1tb in size? if not, partition your hd so you can install on a less than 1tb sized partition.

Moving images into the iPhoto library after importing them
I imported all my 4,500 pictures to iPhoto but since I wanted to keep my file structure intact i chose not to import them into the iPhoto library but to keep them in the existing folders. Now, I want to move the pictures into the library. How to do?
