Re-install of Tiger 10.4.11 non intel now Itunes wont work

Hello all. decided to clean my old imac G5 non intel by reinstalling tiger and now itunes won't go at all. It launched as expected but when you try to go to the itunes stores it states in the status bar 'connecting' but then nothing happens. Have installed the most recent versions up to 8.2 but in each case it wont work.
I'm thinking there must be a config problem somewhere in itunes. Have deautherised then reuatherised and am able to sign in, but still no joy any help appreciated - Jimmy

I don't know the iTunes requirements for using the Store but it would not surprise me at all if iTunes 8 no longer works with the iTunes Store. I know my iTunes 7.5 stopped working with the Store several years ago. I hear they recently changed how the Store appears in iTunes which suggests they did a software change and probably didn't even consider anybody would still be using iTunes 8. Apple is pretty fast off the mark for abandoning support for older platforms and I would be surprised if iTunes 8 continued to work with the Store for this long.

Yes I'm aware of that. The procedures are also for trying in cases where iTunes can't be reinstalled due to a "Could not start Apple Mobile Device service" message.
If you're getting a different error message relating to the Apple Mobile Device Service (or Apple Mobile Device Support) when you try to reinstall iTunes, post back to let us know what that error message says. (Precise text, please.)

OK here is the total lowdown.....I have been doing some tweaking to my computer
I have a Powerbook G4 OSX, I recently added 1G of Ram making it 1.25
and I had to re install my OS disks to preserve and something (im not technical) because I was trying to download illustrator cs3 trial on my computer and it told me that it conflicts with CS3 the very program I was trying to get. So I talked with a genius and he told me to reinstall the OS disks and choose preserve blahblah......I chose it, it seemed to work but when I went to use my itunes it told me that I needed 10.4.7 or later.... I USED to have 10.4.10 before the reinstall now I have 10.4.....what is going on... i just want to get my jams back on. HELP what can I do. what did I do? now, everyone, lets be a hero and help me!!

oh yeah i forgot...the message that my itunes gives me is " you need 10.4.7 or later please go to apple.com/macosx to upgrade"

First of all, try resetting the iPod. It may take several attempts and is best done connected power.
Then download the iPod Updater, install this to your computer, restart the computer, run the Updater, then connect your iPod when prompted (not before), then follow the set up procedure.

Had CS4 on Power PC Mac (Non Intel) along with prior Photoshop versions. Now I have new iMac and trying to install CS6 but it won't accept my original serial number (Starts with PSW401, etc.).

I know what you are saying. I had purchased the CS5.5 upgrade, and a week later got the CS6 upgrade. I did this back in 2012. I had a old Mac Power PC which does not allow you to install CS5.5 or CS6 because it was not an intel processor. So even though I had the upgrades I never installed them. I waited until my old MAC died which it did this past weekend. And now that I have a new iMac I tried to install the new software. All of my past upgrades referenced my original Photoshop that was still resident on my old Mac. But since the install no longer has that reference because of the new computer, it will not accept any of my past serial numbers that it needs for the install.

I was running the previous version of itunes and it worked perfectly. I just installed the latest version of itunes (version 11.1.4.62) and restarted the PC and now itunes doesn't recognize my iphone or my ipad. I'm running Windows 8.1 on my pc. I resolved the issue by doing the following:
1. Uninstall iTunes and every Apple application (device support and such).
2. Uninstall bonjour.
3. Reboot.
4. Go to Apple and install iTunes.
It worked. When I opened iTunes (after reinstalling) it recognized all my devices, music and video.

Install/Upgrade Tiger DVD on a non-DVD Mac

Hello everyone.
Please let me know if this works if not, please let me know what are the steps to using a Tiger OS DVD Installer on a non-DVD drive, like an iMac G3:
1.On a DVD-drive Mac like my iMac G5, insert DVD and use Disk Utility to create a disk image out of the DVD
2.I use my iPod to copy the disk image into a iMac G3
3.Double-click on the image, it expands into a 'disk icon' OS X installer
(the iMac will restart and Install Page appears...)
At this point I have not proceed further, will double-clicking on the icon within "Install OS X" (OS X black disc with an red arrow) restart the mac and boot into the Install Page, just like on the DVD?
The reason I ask is because the disk image mounts a disk on the desktop, wouldn't restarting the mac "unmount" the disk??
If this method is not possible, how do I install then??

What you are trying to do will not work because you cannot boot from a disk image. You have two options:
1. Exchange your Tiger DVD for CDs using Apple's disk exchange program. Look for the media exchange ad here: http://www.apple.com/macosx/upgrade/ and download the required form from the link.
2. Find another Mac that has a functional DVD drive. Both computers must support Target Disk Mode meaning they must both have Firewire ports. To verify this read this. This article explains the process.

Quicktime 7.1.3 wont install, iTunes wont work.

When ever I start iTunes,first of all it never opens up but a error comes up saying....
"QuickTime version 7.0d0 is installed, iTunes requires QuickTime Version 7.1.3 or later.
Please Reinstall iTunes"
So I reinstall iTunes, I have done this about 4 times.I have also removed iTunes and reinstalled it completly but it seems like Quicktime is not updating with it. Is there older Quicktime folder that I need to get rid of or something?

We need more background on your iTunes setup. This ususally happens when yu have used your library with a newer version of iTunes such as using another person's computer.

Let's try a repair install of iTunes first.
Restart the PC. If you're using Vista or 7, now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "iTunes" and then click "Repair". If you're using XP, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "iTunes", click "Change" and then click "Repair".

I have been trying to install the new version of itunes for 2-days now. I had to uninstall the previous versions because of another issue. I have uninstalled all instances of itunes and quicktime and have downloaded the new version.
When I try to run the exe file nothing happens. is there a solution for this?

I am assuming that you are using a Mac. Update for 17.0.1 have been pulled off the server for Mac(see this - https://blogs.adobe.com/adobeillustrator/2013/11/illustrator-cc-updates-now-available.html
Please uninstall AI CC 17.0.1 & re-install again. You will be back on to the 17.0.0 version. This is MAC only change.
Please let us know if you are facing this issue on Win.

     I received a Microsoft update foir my pc with the new Internet Explorer 11 on the update. I downloaded it and installed it and now when I try to annotate my financial charts on Stockcharts.com I cant, I get a message that this requires flashplayer and to download flashplayer. Prior to installing IE 11 i had IE 10 and Windows 7 and had adobe flashplayer installed on my computor. I had no problems with annotating financial charts on Stockcharts.com. Now whe I try to annotate a chart I get a message that this requires flashplayer and I should download flashplayer.
     I uninstalled flashplayer from my computor and downloaded the lastest version 11.9 etc and the problem persists. cansto annotate any charts and get a message to dlownload flashplayer. I dont think IE 11 is recognizing flashplayer now. I also have google chrome installed on my pc and with that I can annotate the stochcharts financial charts.
       I would appreciate some help in resolving this problem.

In IE 10 and IE 11 and perhaps even earlier, Microsoft installed ACTIVE X FILTERING in the browser. I believe that Active X filters out certain TYPES of content. The video clips offered by certain sites like ABC.com are blocked as potentially harmful. YouTube will work fine as will many other sites. When IE blocks their content, sites like ABC.com misinterpret the blockage as you not having Flash Player installed. ABC.com then notifies you that you must have Flash Player installed to play the video and offers you a way to install it. You can turn off ACTIVE X FILTERING on the tools menu of IE but that will make you vulnerable to the malicious content ACTIVE X FILTERING was designed to prevent. Fortunately there is another solution.
In the ADDRESS box in the top left corner of your browser ( where http://forums.adobe.com or the address of your current web site appears ) there is a clockwise circular arrow that will REFRESH your current web page. Immediately to the left of the REFRESH arrow is a small circle with a diagonal line thru it ( the universal symbol for negation as in the traffic sign for NO LEFT TURN ). If you left click that small circle, a box will drop down. In the box will be a button that offers you the ability to TURN OFF ACTIVE X FILTERING. Click on the button and you will turn off the filtering for this one visit and on only this web site. Once you TURN OFF ACTIVE X FILTERING, the video content will play just fine.
