ColinMcM106 this can be normal behavior for a system restore.  Personally I only use this feature prior to taking the step formating and reinstalling Windows only.  Please see CC desktop lists applications as "Up to Date" when not installed - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/aam-lists-removed-apps-date.html for information on how to resolve your current uninstall difficulties.

• Zen Vision M 30Gb Install Probl

So I just got my Zen Vision M 30Gb today and I plugged it into my computer. It started charging and then my computer finally recognized it and tried to do the normal driver install, but for some reason it doesn't seem to have completely installed the drivers. So I unplugged it and tried it again, but it did the same thing once again. Is this normal? Is there anything I need to do? Or do I just need to wait till the Zen is completely recharged then unplug it and replug it back in? Any help is appreciated guys. Thanks!Message Edited by NslMatt on 03-0-200709:35 PM

How to un-install Sound Blaster drivers and applications?
Then I run DriverCleanerPro and CCleaner. Then I install from the original CD-ROM from a services disabled startup. I keep running into these errors both on install and when I try to cleanup for another attempt:
?You have previously uninstalled drivers without rebooting. Please reboot now and try again.
or
?You have previously installed drivers without rebooting. Please reboot now and try again.
The IRQs are sharing with minimal devices. They are actually much better set know than before when it was working. I've tried the card in many locations. It used to work fine. The hardware device manager shows no conflicts.
Sometimes the drivers do in fact install and the device manager reports that the card is functioning fine but the creative programs don't find the card and report that it is missing or not functioning?
Other times the drivers fail to install reporting that they were previously installed without a reboot.
Is there a secret order to installing successfully?
such-as
-cleanup
2-install from original CD
3-autoupdate drivers and programs
I've been at it 2 days now with no luck. Any ideas would be very welcome...

Ive also tried using the driver update feature and when it starts about 3/4 the way installing from the cd it stops and asks for the directory to the file ha20x2k.sys to continue. Well i've searched the entire cd and only found one file that resembles it and its labeled ha0k2k.sys I dunno what the deal is with that. • Audigy 2 ZS Install Probl

Hello,
I recently upgraded to an Audigy 2 zs. I am having some problems installing the card.
Main problem is when I try to install the drivers from the cd. It gives me an error saying the card was not detected. Odd I thought. I went to the soundblaster site and did the auto detect devices to update drivers and it detetected it as an Audigy 2zs. I downloaded the drivers and installed and it worked for a day or two and then it stopped working. I unistalled drivers made sure onboard was disabled even moved to a different pci slot and same thing when I try to install from disk it doesnt detect it and your website does. What am I doing wrong? Any thoughts please help me.

My Audigy 2 ZS works fine with original drivers found on the installation CD but when I try to install driver 2.03.0004 (latest on autoupdate) I see installation failure and system totally hangs after reboot (unable to complete reboot). This happens with both 32 and 64 bit version of driver 2.03.0004 (installed on 32 and 64 bit Windows correspondingly). Since my original CD has no 64-bit driver at all I am not able to boot my 64bit system or just able to boot it with no sound support. Earlier versions of 64-bit driver worked just fine but they seem to be not available for autoupdate anymore Unfortunatelly, recently I reinstalled 64-bit Windows so I cannot roll back to any previous driver This is so bad I am getting really nervious on that

• SB Live! 5.1 digital: instalation proble

I've got following sound card from my friend. After physical installation my computer only found undefined multimedia audio controller and Creative SB Li've! Gameport. Any tries of installing the ends with message which says that there is no Sound Blaster in system present. Please help me with this.

Your card is perhaps some of those OEM models (SB022-SB0229).
Maybe trick helps you to install the update.
By following instructions from http://www.tech-pc.co.uk/audigy-2.php you (perhaps) be able to use the latest Audigy n drivers w/ your card (and install Audigy software too, link for CD can be found from ). In generally, patching is quite painless to do, if you just use "Automatic method" and follow the instructions carefully.

• Creative Audigy 2 ZS Notebook install probl

Lets start off with the system owned:
Acer Aspire 9920G, Windows Vista Home Premium x86 32bit, Intel Core 2 Duo processor T7500 (2.2GHz/FSB: 800MHz/4MB L2 cache), 4GB DDR II RAM (2x 2GB), 2x 250GB (5400rpm S-ATA), NVIDIA GeForce 8600M-GT 280MB TC.
With a realtek onboard HD soundcard.
Now here's the problem:
I purchased the Creative Audigy 2 ZS Notebook last monday, went home and read the instructions.
I made sure to disable and uninstall the onboard card before hand and then pushed the card into the PCMCIA slot and press cancel on the automatic driver search vista gives me, afterwards starting the installation of the vista drivers that i downloaded seeing a small sticker on the box notified me that the installation cd would only work on XP.
Mind you, this is on a clean install, i reinstalled the whole system in the weekend and made a full backup that can be put back in less then 40 minutes in case something would go wrong.
Anyway, next thing i know after starting the install the system freezes entirely at the point where the installation says: "Updating windows drivers".
Hard reboot is the following action ofcourse, system freezes up and refuses to boot only giving me all the nifty blue lights and a black screen.
I pull out the zs notebook and reboot, works fine, however the second i push in the zs notebook the whole system freezes and i have to pull the plug yet again to force it to reboot.
Only action left is putting the backup back and everything works fine again and now i can actually push in the zs notebook card again without the system crashing.
I have tried multiple things after that reinstall so far with multiple results:
- Installing the drivers listed for vista in the drivers section: install freezes, have to reset by cutting the power, but i can reboot with the card still in the laptop, however its not installed at all nor are any programs installed.
- Installing with daniel's drivers: install freezes, cut power to reset and laptop refuses to boot with the zs notebook card in the slot and when in windows the card is pushed in the laptop freezes up yet again.
- Installing either of both drivers in safe mode results in a normal correct install: no freezing or crashing however the second i boot up in normal mode the laptop freezes before loading windows and the power has to be cut yet again.
So far every time this is fixed by using the recovery backup i made to have everything to normal again.
Probable cause that i was able to find:
If i install in safe mode the onboard sound card doesnt get loaded at all, then the installation of the zs notebook runs correctly.
However, in normal mode even if i disable and uninstall the drivers for the onboard card when the install runs it triesto install both the "Creative Audigy Audio Processor (WDM)" drivers for the audigy zs notebook, but it also tries to reinstall the realtek onboard, and i have no clue how to get rid of that since there is no option to disable the onboard soundcard through the bios at all.
Either way, the only time the laptop actually freezes is when the "Creative Audigy Audio Processor (WDM)" gets installed.
If that process doesnt manage to install itself the system doesnt crash, but doesnt see the ZS notebook card either.
Any ideas of random throughts that might help me solve this problem
Also, sorry for the long post, but i tried to make everything as complete and detailed as possible because i really want this fixed seeing i own both an older 5. creative sound set and a logitech z5500 with THX and would like to be able to run both on my laptop when i am at home.
Either way if i end up not being able to fix this i might end up swapping in the audigy 2 zs notebook for the x-fi xtreme audio notebook, problem there is though that it does not have THX and that i'll aslo have to seperatly buy the docking cable.
With regards,
Natharneal.

Thank you for the reply split0,
as for the informati've post, thank you for the compliment, i tend to not open a thread at all unless i have spent enough time on the problem and searched around enough for solutions, and after that i only post if it has enough info regarding everything in inside the thread.
In regard to the known incompatibility list, unfortunatly this is one of the things i checked beforehand already.
The PCMCIA adapter in my laptop is a Texas Instruments PCI-8x2/7x2/6x2 CardBus-controller.
Which is one of the most common controllers and should normally not cause any troubles at all, also in another thread on this forum i found a differant driver for it, i even tried that with no result sadly.
At the moment personally i am thinking the whole problem lies within not being able to uninstall the onboard sound card to full extent somehow, and while i posted here i also have all this info in a direct message sent to creative, and even acer for that matter.
In hopes of some kind of solution for this so i can keep my hopes up for not having to return the card itself.
What bugs me is that there is option at all to disable the onboard sound through the bios.
Because right now whenever i install the ZS notebook card it checks hardware for the onboard first installing it again, then setting priority for the zs notebook.
This is what seems to result in the crashes through a conflict in drivers in my idea, but thats just a hunch which i cant do anything about currently in regard to testing unless someone has an idea for me to try.

• Sound blaster Audigy LS install probl

HI, I just bought a sound blaster Audigy LS, and after installing the card Windows finds the new hardware, but when I put in INSTALLATION CD I get "setup could not detect any sound blaster audio card on your system" I`ve disabled all onboard sound and old drivers, and tried ALL pci slots now as well. Im very sure the card is fitted correctly, the model no is: SB030. any advice would be very helpful. Thanks alot ` WILLEEEE `

All,
In order to give any helpful suggestions to these kinds of problems we will need a couple of extra bits of information:
) Steps already taken to resolve problem
2) System Specs including processor and chipset
3) Model Number of the sound card
4) Operating system and service pack
Willeeee provided most of this, however he has also done all of the steps I would suggest without knowing #2 and #4. In all of these cases it is worth trying to install the latest drivers from our website. I know that the original Audigy can be installed using only the drivers found on the webpage and I would suggest trying that first. Also make sure that you have tried different PCI slots in your system.

• Soundblaster Audigy 4 instalation probl

I have trouble with instaling entertainment center, when i instal drivers from original cd it stops after 50% and doesn't respond i think it stops when it instal entertainment center. Every time when i do it its the same. Where in internet can i find entertainment center instalation files or what i should do to avoid it in the future?

You definately don't need the CD. Here's what I did:
Uninstall old SoundBlaster stuff. Everything, anywhere I could find it.</LI>
Do complete install (without IR-receiver installed).</LI>
Wait 2 days (I never thought I'd use the IR-receiver).</LI>
Install IR-receiver - I don't remember if I had to "cancel" anything, but I do remember that whatever driver was needed was installed when I did the complete Audigy 4 install 2 days prior. Upon prompt, I rebooted.</LI>
In my case, I moved the IR-receiver to another port (on back, instead of on front of the PC). Again, it auto-detected. Again, it prompted me to reboot.</LI>
Personally, I'd try 00% of the above, except substitute "reboot" for "Wait 2 days". A lot of messages suggest install of the Audigy can be fussy. In your case, you may care to double-check for any USB drivers (Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device Manager) you don't need.

• Entertainment Ceter Install Probl

After technical support asked me to uninstall my creative software again - then cleansweep the remainder.
It then came to re installing
But of course nothing is simple - all the software installs normally with the exception of the entertainment center which freezes up on the install. It wont un-install because its not fully installed, it wont install cause it locks up and the repair freezes too!
So now i have gone from a semi working entertainment center (wouldnt play dvds) to NO entertainment center at all. I am quite annoyed with this as the remote control was great for watching video files and listening to music without getting off the sofa.
Has anyone else had similar install problems?

The only way I could solve it was to remove every trace of any references to creative from the PC, including registry enries.Remove the software, one at a time if you have to, reboot each time you remove something. Check msconfig and stop any creative items in the startup tab.Get into regedit and remove ALL references and folders with creative in them.Reboot, and reinstall. You should be right. Now all I have to do is get the thing from freezing whenever I try to play a DVD.

• Audigy 2 ZS Install proble

hi
had a few problems installing new drivers so i removed them and used the orignal install disk that came with the card when brought new but now when i try to set the card up with EAX it says "the audio device supported by this application is not detected. The application will now exit"
if i try to use THXConsole it says " THX setup console cannot execute!Audio driver is incompatible"
please please does anyone know how i can fix this?

Hi,
Check the Device Manager, under Sound Video and Game make sure the Audigy is listed there without any errors. Also check for any entries such as "MS Audio Kernel MIxer", "Wave Device for Voice Modem" or anything related to your onboard audio card (if you have one). Disable these entries if found. You'll have a few entries for Legacy Video/Audio and A/V Codecs which you can ignore as well as Media Control Devices.
Once done re-attempt the install.
Hope this hel
ps.

• Creative Media Toolbox 6.02.01 install probl

Just wanted to ask if anyone has had any problems with Media Toolbox 6.2. not installing correctly? I have downloaded it about 4 times, and tried installing it about 9 times, and it still does not appear. I have got the correct version of Flash installed, and Creative tell me the download file is for both XP and Vista..But thats about ALL I can get from them, apart from just telling me to re-download and re-install.. I even treid a re-install after cleaning out the registry of all creative files after deleting the program. Does anyone have any suggestions, or work-arounds?
Thanks
Dennis

I experienced this persistent problem as well. I tried installing the latest FlashPlayer a couple of times via IE7, to no effect.
Then I noticed this thread: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/view...n_966&sliceId=
I downloaded the uninstaller and ran it, as advised here: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/view..._457&sliceId=2
Then installed it again. This time it worked, Media Toolbox 6 could be installed without any further problems.

• SB Live! 5.1 Digital Install Probl

I can't get drivers for my Sound Blaster Li've! 5. (SB0060) S/N: IS006035673203056
WindowsXP detects the card because it installs its own drivers...
(Creative AudioPCI (E37, E373)(WDM)) And I know I don't have that by physically looking at the card.
So I removed it from the device manager, ran a "Driver Cleaner Pro" to get get everything out, then restarted.
Then, I downloaded the new set of drivers from the creative site, extracted it and ran CTZAPXX.exe from that bundle.
After another restart I went into my Audio\Setup directory and ran setup.exe and I still get this message...
"setup could not detect any sound blaster audio card on your system"
I don't know whats going on.
