Re-install Xcelsius

I had to upgrade my PC and Xcelsius was not transferred over. How do I re-install from the beginning? I have my product key but do not see where to download/enter it - and I cannot install any of the FP/SP I've downloaded. Please help!

This parsing error typically occurs when the installer is run directly from the zip file.
How to fix:
Extract all files in the Xcelsius installer folder to a new temp folder on your desktop.
Double click on the setup.exe file in that folder to start the installation.
Delete the temp folder after the installation is complete.
Reinstalling the operating system is not necessary.

From a brief Google search, I determined this error message is from Vista. It is not being produced by Xcelsius. You will need to do your own search and determine what is causing Vista to report this error. You can also try installing using instructions for Xcelsius installation on Vista posted elsewhere in these forums.

We are getting error while installing Xcelsius 2008 version 5.3.....
"The upgrade patch cannot be installed by windows installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade patch"
Kindly suggest how to install the Xcelsius latest verion.

Sorry if you've already done this, but have you installed Xcelsius 2008 SP3 first? It sounds like you are trying to install a fix pack without first installing Xcelsius 2008.
The downloads are all available from the [downloads service market place|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc/] (as per the stickied thread)
If you choose Service Pack as the software type it will allow for download of the SP3 full install.
OR
Could it be this issue [Xcelsius FP3.5 error installing Excel2010; with solution from F. Kooij if you are referring to the latest fix pack 3.5 with Office 2010?

I've just tried to install Xcelsius 2008 fp3.2 (I am currently on Xcelsius 2008 sp3). I did read the installation notes, and I wonder if the problem I had is related to the fact that I am not logged in as administrator (I'm on XP).
The package extracted and as the installer ran I got the message:
'Error applying transforms. Verify that the specified transform oaths are valid'.

Can be...
To resolve this error, copy all files from the disc to a local computer location (for example, the desktop). Install Crystal Xcelsius from the setup.exe file at that location.

We are creating desktop images to roll out to our user base with the option to install Xcelsius 2008. I am looking to see what the minimum spec is for the desktop, for example which SP of XP is recommended? We have Office 2003 and flashplayer installed.

Installing Xcelsius and BO XI Release 2 SP4

Hi all,
Is it possible to install Xcelsius and BO XI Release 2 SP4 within de the same server?
Actually, I'm trying to install Xcelsius on the server where BO XI Release 2 SP4 is.
Once BO is installed with all services up and running I launch Xcelsius installation. At the end of the process, I can stop all report servers using CCM but I can't start them all again.
Does anyone have an idea about deploying those two applications on the same server?

I haven't heard of this issue, but possibly some environment variables or registry paths were changed by the install. Was xcelsius installed in the same businessobjects directory? Sometimes if the versions differ an incorrect path variable that both enterprise and the client (in this case xcelsius) share is set.It may not be as easy as uninstalling to fix. You may want to try opeing a message with our deployment team

Excel 2010 is not supported with the current release of Xcelsius.
If you google Excel 2010 and Xcelsius you will see a few workarounds. The most common being to install Office 2007, then install Xcelsius, then go back to Office 2010. However you may then not be able to install future fix packs, and you will be using an unsupported setup.
Unfortunately your only robust option is to use Office 2007 if you want to use Xcelsius.
The new Xcelsius (with BI4.0) works with 2010, but as far as I know Office 2010 is still not 'officially' supported.

Can't Install Xcelsius 2008 with Office/Excel 2010 Beta on XP

I am running the latest beta version of Office 2010 and when I try to install Xcelsius 2008 i get an error and it aborts the install. Error says:
Office XP application: Excel, Word, Outlook or Powerpoint must be pre-installed. Higher versions work fine.
Am I missing something on why this wouldnt work?

Today I downloaded the new version of Xcelius, SAP BO Dashboards 4.0. This version will support MS Office 2010! This version will be available the 23th of February 2011.

How do I do a fresh install of Xcelsius 2008 and get up to SP4 if I am unable to do an install of Xcelsius 2008 on Win7/Office2010 in the first place?

You can install Xcelsius 2008 Service Pack 4 without having a previous version of Xcelsius 2008 installed because each Service Pack is a full install (or it can be used to upgrade from a previous Service Pack).
So download and install SP4 which supports Office 2010 (32-bit) and Windows 7.

Re installing Xcelsius 4.5 on a new computer

Hi, I've been trying to re install the program for a couple of weeks in vain. I sent an email to the bosap help team, and they kindly sent me a link where I can attempt to download - but when I try to run it it just does not work.
I actually see the program downloaded in my computer but when I try to open it, I see a message saying 'Crystal Xcelsius installation is not complete. Application cannot run. Please re-install Crystal Xcelsius'. We tried a couple of times but it's still the same. Do you think it may be an issue related to the corporate firewall?? Has anyone experienced a similar issue with this?
Reading through some other postings, I thought providing my activation key may help, so I'm wiriting it down belw:

I really need Xcelsius back for reporting in early July.. if it does not work at all, I may have to consider buying another copy since we need one more copy anyway - in this case, what would be the one for 4.5 professional? Is it the 2008 Engage?

I recently purchased Xcelsius present 2008 and when I installed it in my computer it requested it a key code or validation code. I entered the code that came with the software and I got a message saying that the code is invalid. I have only been able to use it on the trial mode, but the trial period is about to expire.
I contacted the people from BOSAPAmerica, and they kept asking me for a valid code for them to reset it, and I sent them the only code that came with the box, and after a few emails back and fourth they couldn´t provide me with a solution.
I would appreciate any help, assistance or contact information from anybody that would be able to help me solve this issue, Im concern that by the end of the week I wont be able to use it even though I paid for it.

I got the problem solved. There is a section on this website that has a series of "SAP Notes", that provide solutions for problems reported by users.
There are 3 SAP Notes that deals with this issue:
SAP Note 1275298
SAP Note 1279492
SAP Note 1200927
My IT used the instructions shown in the 1275298 and 1200927 SAP notes and solved the problem

Can't install XCelsius Engade 2008 (upgrade from Pro 4.5) with Office XP

Dear Support,
I have purchased XCelsius Engade 2008, upgrade from Pro 4.5.
Our corporate standard is still MS Office XP on Windows XP and it won't be updated in a near future.
I can not install the product since it tells me that Office suit should be "pre-installed" first. And it is actually installed already.
I have tested the trial version before - and it was fine. It is written on the CD box that system requirements includes Office XP but it does not work. Please help ASAP!!!
And just for the information:
Trial version build no: BuildVersion=12.1.0.247 (seems to work)
Version on CD which I have purchased: BuildVersion=12.0.0.121 (refuses to install)

you don't need to uninstall Xcelsius 4.5 - it's a separate product and you can install it back. I have both Xcelsius 4.5 and Xcelsius 2008 on the same machine. I am not sure why it does not recognize the Office on your machine, may be you need to upgrade your Office to a later version, I hope somebody else will have more information. I am trying to install Xcelsius 2008 SP3...
I uninstalled Xcelsius 2008. Succesfully
I downloaded Xcelsius 2008 SP3, and when i enter the Product Key i am getting a message saying that the Key is Invalid....
This is the same key that i used to install it the first time....
Can someone tell me what am i doing wrong.... maybe the installation requieres for me to do it via CD instead of a download?
The reason i am saying that is because the product key starts with CDXXX. Or am i using the wrong key?

Make sure Xcelsius 2008 is fully uninstalled, reboot and install Xcelsius 2008 SP3.
The Xcelsius SP3 is a Cumulative Service Pack not an incremental. That means, you need to uninstall the existing version of Xcelsius on your machine and then run the executable that you have downloaded.
While installing please keep the Key code ready. The installation will ask you to enter at at the beginning. This is the same key code that you might have received from SAP when you purchased the license.
Make sure you type it in exactly in all caps and with dashes.
