Re-installation failed and phone blackout

I was re-installing my nokia 701 software, it got disturbed whilst it was in the process, now my phone is dark and seems to be not working, what can I do?

There are no instructions about correct three keys to "hard reset" Symbian S^3 and later devices in this resource which has not been kept up to date and anyway should only be used with caution to try to restore telephony functions in such devices as a precursor to visiting Nokia Care facility for software to be completely re-installed.
Although screen shows as black, device may well remain in "flashing mode" and be easily restored should correct drivers be abailable upon PC to recognise it.

I tried to install the latest version of iTunes on my Windows PC, but the installation failed and I have the error message "Runtime Error R6034 An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly."  When I then tried to run iTunes (assuming that, since the new install failed, my older version was still OK) I got the message "iTunes was not installed correctly.  Please reinstall iTunes.  Error 7 (Windows error 1114".  I tried then uninstalling iTunes and reinstalling it fresh, but encountered the same problems. • IPhone 4s: upgrade from ios 5.1 to ios 6 failed and phone stuck in recovery mode

    I am on a Macbook OS 10.7.5.  iTuens 10.7.
This afternoon I plugged in my iPhone 4S and started the upgrade process from iOS 5.1 to iOS 6.
The update process failed at some point and now I am stuck with only the "Restore" option in iTunes.
The frightening thing is that I am not sure if my data is backed up (most importantly my photos).
I had not done a backup in a while, but when I go to Library/Application Support/MobileSync/ and look at the backup folders, there is a backup in there from today around the same time I started the update, and the size is close to 9GB.
Is this my iPhone's backup before the update was processed?  Does iTunes / Apple backup before the upgrade process automatically? Am I safe to restore from here or do I risk losing my data?  Anything else I can do try?
I'm in the process of upgrading to the latest iPhoto so I can at least get some of the photos that were backed up in there before it maxed out.
Very very frustrating experience ... remember to back up before you upgrade, especially if you're over a wireless network!

if pictures are your main concern, but you have icloud activated on your phone and computer, then they should be backed up on your computer.  If the only option you have is to "restore", then go ahead and do it and you should hopefully get the option to restore that backup that you spoke about, after itunes installs ios6 to your iphone.

  • SL upgrade installation failed and now macbook won't boot

    Hi all,
I did some searching in the forums, but I couldn't find this answer -- I'm sorry if it has already been asked/answered.
I have a 2.5 yr old intel macbook that was running leopard, and I bought the SL upgrade.
My mac has been hovering around 0-10 gigs of free space for the past 6 months or more. It tends to stay very full since I have a lot of photos and music. When my HD reaches it capacity, I usually connect up to my timemachine (500gb) and dump off 10-30 gigs of pictures, then repeat the process.
So, I had around 4 GB free when I tried to install SL, it said it wasn't enough so I deleted some movies/downloaded content quickly, restarted, then tried again and with 7-10gb free (I don't remember exactly) it let me begin the install and choose my Mac HD to install it to.
I came back and it said there was an error and it needed to restart and try again.
After restarting, the mac can no longer find the boot disk, and I put the CD back in and did disk diagnostic. The diag said it needed to try to repair. I tried to repair and it said, this in unrepairable. You need to try to save off as much data as you can, clean/clear the disk and reinstall the operating system.
If I try to restart the system and let it load normally, it stays on the grey Apple loading screen with the spinning circle. After 30-60 seconds it just turns off because it is failing to mount or boot the disk (I'm assuming).
Does this seem strange? My computer is basically saying the disk is done and you need to reformat, but I don't feel like it's really corrupted. When running the diag test, the app unmounts the disk to test and then can never re-mount until I restart, so that's also weird.
I have not backed up my computer in 40-60 days so I would really be taking a step back if I just wiped it right now then tried to get some data back from my time machine.
Is there a way that I get access the disk somehow to move data to my time machine, or USB, or something, before I wipe it out? Also, can the SL disk wipe and reinstall the OS or do I need the OSX Tiger/leopard installation disks?
Thank you very much for any advice, sorry again if this is a repeat question.

This is VERY bad. you should keep at least 10% (better 15%) of drive space free at all times to avoid potentially serious problems resulting from disk fragmentation. they can lead to ALL kinds of issues including catastrophic directory damage which you likely got.
It tends to stay very full since I have a lot of photos and music. When my HD reaches it capacity, I usually connect up to my timemachine (500gb) and dump off 10-30 gigs of pictures, then repeat the process.
this is a VERY bad idea too. Time Machine is a backup tool, not an archiving one. using it as an archiving tool as you did can and will lead to data loss. TM constantly thins its backups. it keeps hourly backups for 24 hours, daily backups for 30 days and weekly backups till the TM drive is full. the backups are thinned without warning. and when the drive gets full it starts deleting old backups to make room for new ones. it's supposed to warn you about it once if you have that option checked in system preferences. but this warning is only given once and sometimes not at all.

    no, it doesn't.

oh yes, it is. the only wonder is that this didn't happen sooner given that you were keeping the drive as full as you did.
When running the diag test, the app unmounts the disk to test and then can never re-mount until I restart, so that's also weird.

you don't need leopard or tiger disks. you can do a full system restore from TM using the snow leopard disk. you can try to get some data off the drive first. do you have access to another mac? does your macbook has a firewire port? if yes you can boot it in target mode, connect it to another drive by a firewire cable and copy what you need to a different drive from there. otherwise you'd have to either do it from terminal while booted from the SL DVD or install SL on an external drive , boot from that and do it from there. also, you can try using Disk Warrior or a similar tool on your main drive. It may work where Disk Utility failed.
Thank you very much for any advice, sorry again if this is a repeat question.

    Hi,
It seems to me like you have
    1. Previous failed instance of SQL Server installation which subsequently caused further SQL Server installations to fail
    2. The windows account with which you logged into machine to install SQL Server is corrupt
You can, If possible create a new windows account give it admin privileges and then log into machine using this account
After you login follow below method to remove failed SQL Server installation
    Uninstall
Uninstall SQL Server completely from add remove program. Make sure no previous failed installation fragments are present on your system. Please use this
link for uninstalling existing instance of SQL Server
. If you have SQL Server 2005
    use this link .
If you are unable to uninstall SQL Server completely because you deleted SQL Server files and un-installation is giving error please follow below method. This method is tested and suggested on
    this thread and
    Forum .
Below Solution (about removing reg keys) will work correctly for SQL Server having Just one instance.
If you have multiple instances and you have messed up SQL Server installation please contact Microsoft Support personal to get better guidance on removal of SQL Server. Please DONT use this method if you are new to SQL Server take help of experienced
DBA to locate proper registry keys and remove them if you are not confident at all it would be better calling Microsoft Support.
Note: Removing necessary registry entries might cause SQL Server instance to crash so backup registry before doing changes.
    1. Uninstall the existing SQL Server  and all the components from the add remove program.
    2.
    Backup the registry .
    3. Delete the following keys using regedit:
    --HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server
    --HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSSQLServer
    4. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall and delete all the sub-keys referencing SQL Server.
    5. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services and delete all the keys referencing SQL Server.
    6. Rename all the SQL Server folders in the computer.
    7. Reboot the machine.

  • Connection failed and phone freezing

I have had the incredible for a couple of weeks now but the last couple of days I have received a message stating "connection failed" when I try to check e-mail or the internet.  The phone also has frozen a few times while I am on the internet.  I have to take the battery out each time to get it started again.  Anyone else having these problems?

My connection is 3G and I have cleared all history and cache.  I had a problem last week with the phone randomly shutting down and restarting by itself, went to Verizon and they replaced the battery.  I like the phone, but not happy that I am having so many issues right at the beginning.

  • After installing Photoshop I get a message that the installation failed and further:  Installation completed though some optional componants failed to install correctly. (6).

Mornay1948 is Photoshop CC 2014 able to open ok?  I would recommend reviewing your installation log for the exact nature of the error which you received.  You can find details on how to locate and interpret the installation log files at Troubleshoot install issues with log files | CC - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cc.html.  You are welcome to post any specific errors you discover to this discussion.
