Re-installation of project 2013 trial doesn't work
Hi,
i had downloaded project 2013 trial version 2 days back, installed it and it was working fine.
next day, i was facing some issues with laptop, so I uninstalled it.
Now when I try to re-install using same exe, it is not working.
It is only giving error as - 'The installation of this package failed'.
Pls help on how to re-install mpp. I need it urgently.
My hunch is the "issues" you allude to are possibly the root cause.

I have downladed the trial version of Poject 2013, it is supossed that it is valid for 60 days and after a week I cannot update the project files, I just can see them, like "Read-Only".

AylinHave you activated the trial? Go to File > Account and activate the trial. You will need an internet connection and yo will need to be logged in with the account you used to download the trial.

Uninstall and Reinstall of MS Project 2013 Trial Product Key
I am currently using the 60 day free trial version of MS Project 2013. I have been using it for 11 days. Can I uninstall it on one PC and reinstall it on another PC using the same product key if I am still within the 60 day trial window?

You can’t uninstall Project 2013 trial on one PC then reinstall it on other PC with the same product key. You can only activate Project 2013 trial on a single PC with the same product key.
If you want to install Project 2013 trial on the other PC, you need to apply for a new account. Then download Project 2013 trial again via TechNet Evaluation Center on the new PC.

Cannot install Microsoft Project 2013 Trial

I'm having a nightmare trying to install the Microsoft Project 2013 trial. I've read various forum posts, but can anyone give me a basic step by step guide to installing the trial!!!! I keep getting an .img file which does not open anything relevant! all

I think your question is the most repeated question in this public user forum. Most people download the Microsoft Project 2013 trial version and expect to find an EXE file, which is not what you get. Instead, for some reason only known to Microsoft,
you end up with an IMG file.
To install the software, you have the choice of burning it to a disk, or you can use third party software to unzip the contents of the IMG file. I have opted for the second choice, and used the free software from 7-Zip. If you use the 7-Zip software,
you can unzip the contents to a folder, and then run the EXE file you will find in the folder. And no, I do not work for 7-Zip; I have used their software successfully and like it. Hope this helps.

MS Project 2013 Trial Download not visible in installed programs and thus can't open
I've consulted other posts however answer is not listed. I have followed the instructions to download the file. I've downloaded the 64-bit file and selected Open application on download however nothing happens. I've gone to my Control Panel
and Project 2013 is NOT listed. I've searched for Project 2013 in the start up menu to no avail.
Can anyone advise how I can get the software installed on my laptop? The fact it states the application has downloaded but it's not visible as a downloaded file is driving me crazy.

When you download the trial, it downloads the image file by name ProjectProfessional_x64_en-us.img
Do you see this file under your download folder? If yes, then you have downloaded the trial software successfully.
As a next step, you need to extract .img into a directory using any tools that unzip the .img format (e.g., 7-zip
http://www.7-zip.org/ ) and then install from it by running setup.exe.

Microsoft Project 2013 trial 64-bit download file is corrupt
I downloaded the 64-bit trial version of Microsoft Project 2013, but when I try to burn the .img file to a DVD, I get the message: "The selected disk image file isn't valid."
When I use winrar to expand the file and then run setup.exe, i get the message "Setup cannot continue because a required file is either corrupted or not available."
I've repeated the download several times, each time with the same result.
(The 32-bit version downloaded fine, and I was able to burn it to DVD, but it's not the version I need to install.)
My OS is Windows 7 Professional.

Sorry you are having issues. I managed to download OK from
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/hh973401.aspx and extracted without any issues and could run setup . Worth deleting what you have downloaded before just in case it is trying to over-write something. If it happens again then
getting logs from you might help establish what it thinks is broken.

I downloaded the packet with MS Project 2013. OS – Windows 7, processor 64 bit, all technical characteristics are very good. The MS Project 2010 installed on computer. I tried to install this soft.
But after starting setup.exe I see nothing. Not any windows or information. Why ?And it's also worth ensuring that you are a local administrator. Check the processes running (task manager) - does setup run and then stop, or are there multiple ones in the background?

Team Foundation Server 2013 trace doesn't work
I'm trying to turn on tracing on my TFS 2013 instance. To do this I'm modifying C:\Program Files\Microsoft Team Foundation
Server 12.0\Application Tier\Web Services\web.config file like this:

After these manipulations log files appear but they are not verbose at all. I tried the same step with 2 different TFS
2013 deployments and got no results. I also tried this technique with TFS 2010 and it works.

I just downloaded the free trial and it doesn't work at all. I have Windows 7 64 bit and it says The version of this file is not compatible with version of Windows you're running. Check you computers system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher.
Um what?PSE9 is only available in 32 bit.
The default location for installation should be Program Files (x86)
Uninstall via the control panel and try to install again. Make sure you don’t install it in the Program Files folder.

Outlook 2013 archiving doesn't work when cached mode is enabled

I have a problem in Outlook 2013 which I've been able to replicate on two separate PCs, operating against two separate Exchange servers. In both cases, archiving of old items does not work in Outlook 2013 when cached mode is enabled. It works
fine if cached mode is switched off so I don't believe the problem is related to the archiving settings.
Has anyone else come across this?

BOM Group LTDBased on my knowledge, Outlook auto archieve setting is stored in registry and only affects on local host.

If we are talking about Microsoft Exchange Online Archiving, I think it would run fine when you in Exchange online mode as your expected.

RH project's ID doesn't work, mapping's good
Hi all, one of the IDs in my chm file doesn't seem to work.
The ID mapping checks out on the developer's side but when I press F1 on that particular page, my help project's default topic. I'm using 'Adobe RoboHelp 7 HTML' and importing a word document.
Interestingly enough, I've had this problem with two specific IDs. In other words, in some chms, the bad ID may work but then a second ID, which worked fine in previous chms, would become corrupt - and the two IDs switch between themselves. In any one chm, only one topic appears corrupt.
I've had this problem for the last 3 years or so and I've tried a number of things, like starting a new project, using an older project setup that used to work, and I've also tried importing a doc and a docx, neither works.
I'd greatly appreciate any suggstions.

From my testing, mapping different topics hasn't helped so that leads me to think that the cause might be somehow connected with the IDs themselves, with dev's side or maybe it's something internal in my RH setup.
I don't know how the IDs can be at fault because they switch between themselves at being corrupted.
On the developer's end, the mapped topic correctly appears when they check these IDs' mappings in the code.
I don't know if it's important, but the other tech writer, who works on an unrelated product and also uses RH 7, hasn't encountered this issue.
If I'm forgetting anything, please let me know and I'll gladly send it over.

Getting error 25004 when installing MS Project 2013 Trial edition on Windows 8
I am trying to install the trial version of MS Project 2103 on my Windows 8 laptop. When I try to activate my key, I get error 25004. It thinks that I have another trial version on my computer. I un-installed my office 2010 (the only Office installed on
my laptop) and tried un-installing and re-installing Project and when it comes to activating the key, it give me the same error message. Downloaded Project 2013 trial and got Visio!
I have just downloaded the Microsoft Project Professional 2013 Evaluation file. I got an .img file, clicked on setup.exe and it starts. But then it goes on to install Visio (which I already have!) Any ideas?

I spent the whole day trying to extract the ProjectProfessional_x86_en-us.img file. Burning DVDs, using 7-Zip and chaning the file name to .ISO are not the answer in this case. Microsoft and TechNet need to check for a download error and post when there's a
solution.
This is $1000 software. It makes no sense that there wouldn't have been a fix sooner.
GrantGrant, I went ahead and downloaded this to see if it worked for me, and it didn't. But I did find that you can download this free utility and then mount the .img file with it so you can install. Try it and let me know if it works.

did you see the timer jobs related to search services and what's their status?
so what about the search results from site collection?
also make sure this service "SharePoint Search Host Controller Service" started on all servers in the farm.
