Re-installing an e-mail, provider (POP) .

After I deleted one of my e-mail accounts (Cox -POP), to get rid of the 4443 items that showed up after my last update, I cannot re-install it?
I have checked and double checked the infor, but the Ipad keeps telling me it cannot find the server.  Any suggestions?

everytime I try to send an email  from internet explorer it says my default mail provider is not installed correctly

Download Yahoo! Toolbar from http://toolbar.yahoo.com and install it. During installation you will be asked if you want to make yahoo mail your default email.

  • I have Yahoo mail provider but just lost my folders in Mac Mail program. The folders were not "On my Mac" but on "Yahoo". How do I get them back again?

I have Yahoo mail provider but just lost my folders in Mac Mail program. The folders were not "On my Mac" but on "Yahoo". How do I get them back again? I have reinstalled MacMail as everything had disappeared. The new install has given me everything except the Yahoo folders. When I looked one of the folders had reappeared, but now it has gone again. I am using Yosemite.
Desperate to find those folders with so much data involved.

Thanks for that babowa. If I add my Yahoo account it just goes straight to MacMail and says I already have an account. There seems to be no basic problem with mails going between Macmail and Yahoo. It is just the folders that have disappeared, while MacMail was out of action. I don't think those particular folders were ever on the Yahoo mail that I access through BT, they were just on the MacMail under "Yahoo" as opposed to "On my Mac". I am worried in case I lose what I already have if I press "Restore" from my back up. As you can see, I am not exactly good at this!

  • Can't send mail to POP Account which has attachment or signature

Since installing the Update 10.4.6, I have been unable to send email to my pop account which has either a signature or an attachment (when there is no attachment or signature it works fine). I have cleared the caches using tiger cache cleaner. I have tried adding a new user account to mail. It doesn't work in Entourage either. I've reinstalled Mail. What else do you recommend?
Prior to installing the update, mail worked great for over a year!
    Additional Information:
Whenever I press the send icon, the mail message disappears, then in the activity viewer it gives the message “Delivering message / Sending data (28% done) and hangs there for a long time and finally gives the following message:
Cannot send message using the server XXX
Use the pop-up menu below to try a different outgoing mail server. All messages will use this server until you quit Mail or change your network settings.
Whenever I send an email with text and a signature, the activity viewer it gives the message “Delivering message / Sending data (100% done) and hangs there for an extremely long time and finally gives the same message.

For sending mail the POP server is not important what you need to check are the settings of the SMTP server. Verify the settings of the SMTP server again and compare it to your settings on your iMac.
Checked SMTP settings and they are identical to the working iMac. I had not changed any settings on my MBP when it stopped sending, plus it did work briefly last night with those settings, so I don't see how it could have anything to do with my settings being incorrect.
The only thing even remotely different that I did prior to this happening was to use it away from home. I was out of town and used someone else's wifi to send some emails, but can't see how that should matter. It was the same ISP that I use at home, so I never even had to change settings for remote access. I never touched a thing, but when I got home I could no longer send emails.

  • E-Mail Provider with Virus Scan?

If an online e-mail service scans e-mail and blocks viruses and spam on their site, would I be assured of virus-free e-mails when I retrieve them into Mail? If so, which site(s) do you recommend? I checked out gmail, but don't quite understand their security feature.
Also, I only use e-mail on my home computer (not a cell phone, etc.) so would I set it up as a POP account? (I don't understand any of this....). Earthlink was my ISP and I had e-mail with them, but now I've switched to Comcast and they don't scan e-mail for viruses. I don't have virus software on my computer. I'm at a loss for what to do. Either get virus software (which one?) or an e-mail provider that does it for me. Any ideas will be appreciated.
    I'm using Mail 3.5.
    Thanks.

    Hello Esther:
There are NO documented viruses that affect a Mac running OS X, none. As gumsie indicates, however, one should never say "never."
Good practice is not to open E-mail attachments from people you do not know. Phishing is always around and no E-mail platform can catch them all.
IMHO, AV software is a waste of time (sometimes money) and system resources. If one appears, these forums will light up so brightly, you would be able to see them from the moon!
Talk to Comcast about the settings they need to set your mail up. I use AOL as my mail platform (integrated into Apple's mail application), so I cannot speak to Comcast requirements.

  • Since installing Yosemite outgoing mail fails. ckd settings all ok.  all outgoing servers say (offline)  incoming mail ok

Since installing Yosemite outgoing mail fails in Apple Mail.  All the servers show (off line)  I have checked setting and they are all okay.  Incoming mail works.  Any help would be appreciated.

  • HT201320 My e-mail provider is Talk Talk.  How do I set up my iPad to receive e-mails using my existing TalkTalk e-mail address.

My e-mail provider is TalkTalk.  How do I set up my iPad to receive and send e-mails?

Settings -> Mail, Contacts & Calendars -> Add Account -> Other -> Add Mail Account
Put in your email details, and tap on [Next].
Then tap on the Pop button, and set the incoming and outgoing mail servers to Talk Talk's.
You can find the configuration here:

  • Missing Mail in POP account/ "Take account online in order to download it"?

    Mail build 1.3.11 (OSX.3.9)
User has an issue with mail showing the following error (see snip below) message in a POP account. Actually, if this were IMAP it would make sense, but I've not yet seen this on a POP configuration in this applciation. After running the rebuild on the Inbox, these emails are now gone. Is there any way to retrieve these emails?
    [snip]
The message from someone <[email protected]> concerning “Re:
paper” has not been downloaded from the server. You need to take this
account online in order to download it.
    [end-o-snip]
Many thanks for any insight provided.

This error message indicates an "overstuffed" mailbox issue which means the mailbox has some corruption or is approaching or over the recommended size limit which is 1GB for Jaguar or Panther Mail.
If for the account's Inbox mailbox, quit Mail first and using the Finder go to Home > Library > Mail > this POP account named folder (named by the user name and incoming mail server for the account) > INBOX.mbox.
Move the INBOX.mbox to the Desktop.
When re-launching Mail, a new (and empty) INBOX.mbox will be created automatically by Mail within the account named folder. This will allow the Mail.app to function properly again and not risk losing any new received messages while working on the old INBOX.mbox moved to the Desktop to recover the existing messages.
Control-click on the old INBOX.mbox moved to the Desktop and at the menu window that appears, select Show Package Contents.
List the package content file names and size of each here.
This information is required before determining the next step to take to recover the existing messages.

  • How to stop voice mail password pop up on iphone 5

How do you stop the voice mail password pop up on the i phone 5?

Call your carrier & have them reset your voicemail. Then set such up with a password. Voicemail is a carrier feature, not a phone feature & most carriers require a password for such.

  • How can i check my mails on the iphone and make sure that the mail wont pop up again on my computer ?

How can i check my mails on the iphone and make sure that the mail wont pop up again on my computer/ will be deleted on the server ?

For that kind of connectivity you need to be using an email account configured either as IMAP or Exchange.
IMAP & Exchange accounts will maintain a sync across all your devices, so if you read / delete a message on your phone, it will disappear from the server as well. This cannot happen in POP email accounts.
If your using gmail, instructions on how to set up exchange / imap are here http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?answer=138740&topic=14252
Alternatively, if its anything other than Google, you will need to contact your email providor or IT department (if your email address resides with an enterprise environment) to get the correct settings.
    Hope this helps!

  • How can I install an E-Mail CA Certificate?

I have a friend who just bought an iPhone within the past month. Where can I find the information necessary on how to guide her to install an E-Mail CA Certificate on her iPhone?

You can select another email that is not important/you want to delete then hold down the command key and highlight the email you don't want to open. Then click on delete!

  • CRM 5.0 - IC WebClient - Email Profile - (E-Mail Provider)

    Hi Gurus
I'm getting an odd Internet Explorer error message when I launch the IC Webclient:
    Line:     52
    Char:     13
Error:     ‘undefined’ is null or not an object
    Code:     0
The error occurs just after the Identify Account view displays.
I've narrowed this down to a parameter in the Email Profile:
The parameter is the E-Mail Provider:
When the value is set as ICI I don't get the message
When set to Agent Inbox the message appears.
I've checked the Inbox Profile and everything appears to be set-up correctly, in particular the Main Category "INT".
Any ideas what could be happening with this.
Maximum points for the right guidance.
    Many Thanks in Advance
    Panduranga

    Unresolved but closing off

  • I can't uninstall/install FireFox due to a pop-up that says: Your computer must be restarted to complete a previous upgrade of Firefox..."

This problem arose when I attempted to upgrade my existing FireFox browser to the new FireFox 7. I clicked through the auto-update, but didn't think that anything changed, as the browser didn't look like the image in the feature explanation image I was viewing. I then tried to download Firefox 7, and when I tried to instal it, this process began.
I can't uninstall/install FireFox due to a pop-up that says: Your computer must be restarted to complete a previous upgrade of Firefox..." When restarted and attempted again, the same pop up appears and I am stuck in an infinite loop.
I cannot locate the Mozilla file within my program files to try and delete cantankerous upgrade components, which seems to resolve this issue for many people. See: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/796566
I also tried completely deleting Firefox, which didn't work either-- I ended up doing a system restore, only to be met with the same infinite loop.
Now, when I click on the Mozilla icon, nothing happens. No window opens, no error message, nothing.
Why can't I find the Mozilla folder in my Programs File but can see it in Control Panel "Add or Remove Programs" (though I can't uninstal due to infinite loop)?

It is probably because you are not properly closing Firefox. Restarting your system would make sure that Firefox had terminated, but you do not have to do that.
To properly close Firefox on Windows systems, use
:File > Exit or "Firefox:" button > Exit
When you get the message "Firefox is already running" it is too late, and you must force termination of Firefox through the Windows Task Manager before restarting Firefox. Windows 7 has a keyboard shortcut to save you a step "Ctrl+Shift+Esc" then on "Processes" tab, select "firefox.exe" and use the "End Process" button. More thorough would be to right-click on the "firefox.exec" and choose "End Process Tree".
You would find firefox.exe in a Mozilla folder in your program files, but y0u would not want to delete it there, you would need to use the Control Panel which you have already identified and do it from there -- but generally you would not need to do that, and there is nothing in what you have posted to indicate that you should. But if you did do that, then don't let the install start Firefox for you as you would want to use you existing desktop icon or method of starting Firefox, and should decline having Firefox install start Firefox for you. When the install starts then invoke Firefox in your normal manner. This should eliminate problems of creating a new profile rather than using your old profile.

You can contact iTunes Customer Support on this issue. I had the same problem once & they were able to fix the problem for me. Contact them at [email protected] They will get back to you ASAP.

  • Hi itunes wont install windows error 2 keep popping up what do i do?

hi itunes wont install windows error 2 keep popping up what do i do?

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
