Re installing CS4 on new desktop

I have deactivated and uninstalled my CS4 from my old desktop and want to INstall it on my new desktop.  I have the discs/serial number, but they want the previous version(CS2) I had to upgrade FROM.  I have no idea where that is. How can I reinstall CS4 without that previous information.  The only license number found on my adobe account is for my LR5.  Which I haven't tried to move over yet.
How do you get someone from Adobe to actually speak with?
TIA~

normally you are required to have your previous version installed or know its serial number.
because your previous version is cs2 you might be able to use the matching cs2 serial number here, but i'm not sure you qualify to do that, Error: Activation Server Unavailable | CS2, Acrobat 7, Audition 3

  • Installing CS4 on new MacBook Air

I seem to have run into a problem that no one at my nearest Apple location can figure out so hopefully someone here may have an answer. I recently purchased a MacBook Air. Previously, I had a MacBook from 2006 that had all of Creative Suite 4 downloaded onto it. I uninstalled everything on my old laptop and tried to install it on the Air. However, the programs will not install. It says I am missing certain components and therefore, cannot install. The content on the discs even seems to be different.. I remember just seeing all the applications and was able to just drag and drop before ontop the desktop to install them. This time, I have to dig through 15 folders to find the application and even then, not all of them appear.
If anyone has any suggestions at all, it would be greatly appreciated!
    - Luke

Jeff, I did not. I honestly wasn't even aware of Migration Assistant. However, my old MacBook has basically been cleared of all my previous applications and files since I was intending on selling it now since I have my new one. The disk drive in my old Macbook also does not work anymore either. The disc will literally just spin and then stop. Because of that, I cannot install CS4 back onto it either. Is there another way for it to still work?

  • Moving CS3 to my Laptop and installing CS4 on my Desktop

I'm currently running Design Premium CS3 on my desktop. I want to move this version to a laptop my sister is sending to me.
I have a NEW full verison of Design Premium CS4 that I want to install on my desktop, where I do most of my development work.
I'm looking for the best way to go about doing this.
    - Do I de-activate the CS3 version on my desktop first.
    - Then uninstall CS3 software from my desktop.
    - Then install the new version of CS4 on my desktop.
    - Then install the CS3 onto the laptop when I receive it in the mail?
How do I get my serial number for CS3 from my desktop to my laptop?
or is there some other way to do and what is it? Are there technotes or something that will give me steps and best practices for doing this and hopefully reduce/elimate any problems?
    Thanks in advance,
    KayBell

I got things worked out. I following the first three steps I listed in my orginal post. It took a very long time, but it all worked well.
    Have a great day,

  • Installing CS4 on new MacBook Pro

I am trying to install CS4 Web Premium (student edition) on my new laptop (MacBook Pro, Mac OS 10.7.3, 2.3GHz Intel Core i7) using the install disc. However the disc stops during "initializing" and there is no error message. I have cleaned and checked the disc and there is nothing visibly wrong with it.
Is CS4 incompatible with my laptop or is it the disc? If it's the disc, can I download a version of CS4 Web Premium?

  • Can't install CS4 on new MacBook Pro

I'm trying to install CS4 on a brand-new MacBook Pro with Mac OS 10.6.3. The Setup doesn't even start. I get an error message: "Setup cannot be opened because of a problem." It says that Setup won't work with this version of Mac OS X.
In the Terminal details, there is the following error:
    Library not loaded: @executable_path/../Frameworks/asneu.framework/Versions/A/asneu
    Referenced from: Users/...
    Reason: image not found
I get the same error whether I double-click on the Setup.app or do Open Package Contents > Contents > MacOS > Setup.exe.
I have researched this error and found that other people have had the issue when the setup process is 90% through, but I can't even get mine to start. I've tried using the CleanScript app from Adobe, but since I don't have another version of Creative Suite on this brand-spankin-new computer, there's nothing to clean or uninstall. I've also tried creating another admin login to install from that, but to no avail.
    Any help out there?

the error says library not found. Somehow the install program does not execute properly. It might be a problem of the disc. If you have a second computer or an external Drive try to install from there and see if the same error occurs. If it does, then it must be the CDs. If not then we have to investigate further.

  • Trouble installing CS4 on new iMacs

Since I cannot insert disks into the new iMacs(there is no drive), I was told to copy the content onto my desktop, and install it that way.  When I open istaller, the content from disk 1 is installed successfully, but then it asks me to insert disk 2.  Since I already the content of disk 2, I just press "ok," but nothing happens; it just keeps repeating the same prompt for me to insert disk 2.  I would image this is because the installer reads when another disk is inserted, but since there is no disk drive, it doesn't think I've done anything.  As a result, only the content from disk 1 is installed.  How can I install the whole thing?

Follow the steps mentioned the below link, it will give you a step by step workflow to perform Desktop installation :-

As a workaround you could download the CS4 software from and then use this to install.

  • Problem installing CS4 onto new Mac OS X

    Can someone please help me?!
I have just tried to install my Photoshop CS4 Extended onto my brand spankin' new Mac computer and when I tried to open the application this message comes up:
"You can't open the application 'Adobe Photoshop SC4' because it is not supported on this architecture". What exactly does this mean?
I have the latest IMac so I don't see why this would be a problem.

    Hi Cherry!
Usually this happens, when Photoshop CS4 was not successfully installed.
    Reinstall it.
If the option to install Photoshop CS4 is not available, de-install it first. Either use the installer or manually remove the Adobe Photoshop CS4 folder.
    Cheers,

  • Installing CS4 on new MacBook (OS X 10.8.3) without CD drive

I recently purchased a MACBook Pro laptop (OS X 10.8.3) and want to install the CS4 I purchased several years ago. I have the installation CD but unfortunately, there is no CD/DVD drive on the laptop. How do I install the CS4?

If you find difficulty in downloading from Prodesigntools directly by clicking on the links, then following is the correct way to do it.
    1) Right click on the Link 1 link and copy link address.
    2) Go to appropriate Suite page on Adobe products page. http://www.adobe.com/products/creativesuite/
    3) Choose the Suite that you own in CS4 and click on Try link to go to the Suite's trial page.
    4) Sign in with your Adobe ID by clicking on the top right corner of the webpage where it says "Sign In".
    5) Refresh the Suite's trial page so that it says on the top right corner of the webpage "Welcome, your name".
    6) Now Paste the link that you copied from Prodesign tools.com in the address bar and hit enter.
    7) Save the file on your desktop.
