Re-installing Elements after an OS upgrade - Help?

I'm finally going to upgrade from WindowXP to Windows 7, which I know will wipe out all of my programs.  I have my installation discs for Elements 7, but upgraded online to Elements 8 two years ago. downloadig the software. Can anyone tell me how I re-install Elements 8 after I upgrade the OS?  I can find my serial number under My Adobe but can't see where/how to reinstall the software.  Thanks!

Hi ,
If you have bought the upgrade of the Element 8 which was the download then the download link should be present in the same Adobe ID through which you bought the product or in which your serial number is present
If incase the download is not present in your Adobe Id account then downlaod the software from below link and use your serial number to serialize it:-

  • Device Drive won't install correctly after 10.5 Upgrade-HELP!!!

HELP!!!  I can't connect my iphone 3gs or my ipad2 since the 10.5 upgrade.  When I connect either of the devices my PC says the driver is being installed but then it fails.  HELP HELP HELP HELP!!!

    Hi Tom,
it's very well possible that something is wrong with the amount. I have 4 different DIMMs installed: 64, 128, 256 and 512MB. The one of 256 MB might be the problem, so I've decided to take it out and we'll see what happens.
Meanwhile, I have to explain that my G4 has to 2 HDs, the original HD w/ OS 9.2 and a second bigger one w/ OS 10.5 (which doesn't want to start up again).
With the original HD as startup disk, I can still boot in OS 9.2 and that gave me the opportunity to check on the memory. Well, what I found out is that the RAM-disk was turned OFF (for both HDs). At the same time I remember that in OS 10.3 I had a problem with time/date reset, something that always would occur after unplugging the power cable. I always assumed it was a dead battery but today I had the battery checked and it's still ok, so I figure it must be something else. Perhaps the RAM disc that is turned off? Shouldn't it be on?

  • Broken Bonjour with Canon MF4350d after 10.6 upgrade - Help Please.

I have been using a Canon 4350d with no problems with 10.5.8 - including Printer Sharing (Bonjour). Now, after updating to 10.6 (now 10.6.2) I can still print fine, but I have lost all Printer Sharing. All settings appear to be right, and my other macs appear to be printing through the one connected via USB to the printer, but it never goes through. HELP Please. Thank you.

According to the UFR2 User Guide on page 2-8, the driver can be removed from the Mac by trashing the following folders. Note that you should delete the print queue first, by opening Print & Fax, selecting the MF model in the Printers list and pressing the minus button.
    System Volume > Library > Printers > Canon > UFR2
    System Volume > Library > Launch Agents > jp.co.canon.UFR2.BG.plist
    System Volume > Library > Printers > PPDs > Contents > Resources > en.lproj > CNTD**Z*2.ppd.gz
(where * indicates the printer model and 2 indicates the language of driver used)
With these files removed you can then empty the trash, although you may have to open Activity Monitor and stop the 'UFR II Backgrounder' service before you are able to remove all the files from the trash.
With the v2.10 driver removed you are ready to add another driver. However you need to be aware that the v1.80 driver cannot be used on 10.6. If you were using it previously then it would suggest that the 10.6 Mac was an upgrade from 10.5 rather than a clean 10.6 install. On a clean 10.6 Mac, then v1.80 driver will not operate correctly.
What you may be able to do is have the v1.80 driver installed on a Mac running Leopard and shared. You may then be able to use the v2.10 driver on the Snow Leopard Mac's to print to the Leopard share using the v1.80 driver. Note that I haven't tried this so I cannot say if this will work for you. Personally I always ensure I get a printer with Ethernet or wireless support so that I can avoid printer sharing...

  • I can't seem to be able to re-install Elements 7. Can Anyone help me through this?

Using Windows 7.  My software was corrupt (so I thought) so I uninstalled it ... and tried to re-install (several times).  It appears to install - although very quickly .... but it is not fully installed. Can anyone help me with this?

I never got an error message.  I am using windows 7 .... un-installed by going to the control panel and using the un-install feature.  Whewn that didn't work ... I went to Computer/ OS(C)/Program Files(x86)/Adobe   ..... and deleted all remnants of Photoshop 7.
I inserted the program software disc ... entered my serial number .... re-installed .... and it went through some sort of process .... put up a wierd icon on my desktop .... and when I click it ... it says ...
Windows is searching for Photoshop Elements 7.0.exe.  To locate the file yourself , click Browse."
I could not find a Photoshop EXE on my computer.
I ALSO tried to un-install (whatever was there .... and there were some files ... but no exe) .... using the installation disc to un-install.  Tried re0installing once again .... but no luck .... kept getting the same message.
I  use Photoshop Elements DAILY .... and I thought it was corrupt because after taking a LONG time to load in my photo ...  it just wasn't working the way it should ...  this went on for a few days ... I re-booted my computer .... even turned it off completely for an hour or two ... hoping things would correct itself when I re-booted .... but it didn't.

  • MBP mid-2009 Freezing after Hard Drive upgrade -HELP!

So, my Apple Care just ended and I was almost always at a full 320GB, so I decided to upgrade my hard drive to 1TB.  I purchased a Western Digital TB drive (9.5mm) at a store recommended by an Apple Genius and followed the instruction on youtube exactly, as well as having another visit to the Genius bar, ensuring I grounded myself often throughout the process. My computer is a 15" MBP originally loaded with Snow Leopard, now running OSX Lion.  I did a Time Machine backup prior to everything and also bought an enclosure for my old hard disk to use and it has yet to be wiped, but Disk Utility says that it's corrupt because 1 program's debug log says the number of files changed (after the time machine processing.) I did a Carbon Copy Clone prior to installing the hard drive as well, so when all was done, I was able to start the computer without issue.  (This program is what told me first that I had an issue with that debug log.  I'd tried to delete a huge folder that was taking up nearly 30GB before the clone, it was backed up on time machine and another backup drive.)
However, after Vuze re-opened (which I'd just recently upgraded to Pro) it froze the computer, so I got the rainbow disk and even Force Quit did not work.  Since then, I've had to reboot with the top right button dozens of times.  Mail, Chrome and Vuze have all caused freezing and Command Option Escape does not work at all.  My beloved computer is starting to feel like a big brick.  I uninstalled and re-installed Vuze Plus since, but still have the same issues (trashing the program then re-downloading).  As for Disk Utility, it says the drive is just fine.  There are no software updates needed and that's about as far as I can get before things crash again.
I would really appreciate any assistance that can be provided based on this scenario.  I hope I've provided enough detail, please let me know if more is needed.
    Thank you in advance.

The only thing that I can think of is that your SATA cable may be bad... it's the first thing that I would try replacing. DIsk Utility wouldn't be able to detect a bad SATA cable - you'd just have random freezes and crashes.
I don't know that this is the solution to your problem, but it's the first thing I would attempt. 2009 models are notorious for having bad SATA cables - try PowerbookMedic and order a new one. If it doesn't fix the problem, call back.
    Good luck,
    Clinton

  • How do you install OS after Hard Drive upgrade? Thinkpad T41p

I have a Thinkpad T41p with Window XP Pro on it.  I have a new larger hard drive for it, but I do not know how I will be able to install the OS on the new drive.  The laptop came with the OS already installed on it.  That will to be the case, of course, for the new hard drive.  So what do I do?  If you could point me to a step-by-step procedure, I would be most grateful.  I have installed numerous OSs, so I am familiar with how to do that from installation CDs.
Thanks in advance for the help.
    GKent

Just went through this process on my wife's T41. I did the following:
downloaded and installed the eval copy of Active@ Disk Image and Active@ Boot Disk (created a boot CD).
rebooted to the BIOS setup and in the security setting for the IBM Predesktop Area I selected Disable saved the changes and booted
rebooted to windows and usedActive@ Disk Image to create a raw image of the entire disk to a USB hard drive
Shut down and removed the original hard drive and installed the new empty hard drive
rebooted using the CD created by Active@ Book Disk and started the Active@ Disk Image utility
selected the Image to Disk option. This took the raw image and installed it on the new hard drive (this included the hidden partition as well as the windows partition
rebooted without the boot cd and logged in to windows
rebooted into the BIOS and reset the security setting for the IBM Predesktop Area to Normal, saved changes and booted
result is the same size partitions as before on the new 80 GB hard drive so I then ran Partition Magic to resize the Windows partition to utilize all of the remaining space on the disk (left the hidden partion in place - it is still bootable)
rebooted and I now have a 74.5 GB drive for windows with all of the installed software intact
I did plan on using the recovery option to reinstall the image to the factory settings since I had a few issues with windows on the original drive. Ran Rescue and Recovery and it could not find the restore images After much searching it appears that I will have to go out and buy the CDs (unless someone has a free download option)

  • Sharpness Control Crashes my Mac after Snow Leopard Upgrade - Help!

Hi everyone, I have a strange problem since upgrading to Snow Leopard.
Now, whenever I click on the sharpness control in iPhoto, for any photo, it immediately causes the screen to go haywire and the Mac completely freezes up. The only way I can continue is to hard reset holding the power button.
On restart, the Mac shows no sign of a crash, the crash reporter does not fire up and there is nothing to indicate a crash in the iPhoto log files.
All other iphoto controls seem to work fine. I can scroll through my library, everything there is perfect, tone controls, exposure, they all work just fine. As soon as I even touch sharpness, bingo I get an instant lock up.
Can anyone help as this makes my iphoto basically useless?
    Regards
    David

    David:
A first fix attempt should be to delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder. Relaunch iPhoto, reset your iPhoto preferences, background color, etc. and try again.
If that does't help launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library. Select options #3 and #5.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier versions) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. There are versions that are compatible with iPhoto 5, 6, 7 and 8 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
NOTE: The new rebuild option in iPhoto 09 (v. 8.0.2), Rebuild the iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup" makes this tip obsolete.

  • Lost dock after latest software upgrade - HELP

I just updated a whole bunch of stuff include Security, iDVD, Quicktime, iTunes and Mac OS and after the restart, the dock is no longer there. I tried to reset it through the system preferences but still no dock.
And worse when I open a Finder window, all my left menu items such as Application, docs & Music are no longer there (although I can see them in the HD). Even worse, major applications like iTunes, iDVD, iChat & Safari no longer work. I get an error message that they are damaged or incomplete.
    Please help.
    Thanks.

Now that repairs are done, we could try reappliying the Combo update...
The combo update for PowerPC-based Macs...
    http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosx10411comboupdateppc.html
The combo update for Intel-based Macs...
    http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosx10411comboupdateintel.html
    Repair Permissions afterwards, reboot.
If that doesn't work then time for an Archive & Install... unless making a New Admin User works for all these problems, which would give us more clues.

  • My iMac won't install updates after restart. Please help?

My iMac will restart to install updates, but after logging in again, nothing happens. Even if I click the Apple logo and go to "Software Update", it tells me it still has to install the updates and to restart again. Having to end up with nothing again. Help please? =(

Check /Library/Updates/ for folders with numbers. If there are any, open one and double-click the one with a dist extension. If that installs, then repeat with any others. If not, manually download the updates and then install them.

There is a problem with the Aperture installer. In some cases the installation is not complete, if you update on top of a recent version.
In your case the facebook publisher and AccountConfigurationPlugin are not working.

  • Can't sync music after 3.0 upgrade - help!

Last night I upgraded to 3.0 on my 1st generatio iPhone. It took forever, and even though I received an error message at one point, and restarted, it worked. The problem is that even though I restored my backup, the music is gone from the phone. I tried synching with iTunes a number of times, get NO error messages and all appears fine. But the iPod function still has NO content. I made sure my playlists were selected to be synched, but still nothing. Anyone ever experience this? Any known fixes?
    thx

Ok, problem solved. An Apple rep advised me to sync my phone without synching the music files, and then after it's done to go back in, and select music to be synched and do it again. This did the trick.

  • Re-installing iTunes after operating system upgrade

    Hi,
Just recently I upgraded my PC form WindowsXP to Windoes7, 64bit.
I had iTunes on my main drive, so that is gone and I want to re-install iTunes, or install the latest version of it.
I still have my old iTunes music library on another hard-drive, so I was wondering if it's possible to install iTunes and link it to my old library, that way I would not have to rip all my CD's again.
Does anybody know if this is possible at all, or do I really have to start all over again putting my CD's into a new iTunes library?
    Thanks,
    Lars

What exactly is on your 2nd HD? Is it the entire itunes folder (which contains your itunes database files) or is it just the itunes content folders (music, videos, podcasts, etc)?
The itunes database file is named iTunes Library.itl
If that is on your 2nd HD, then do a shift-start of itunes and select it.
By that I mean, press AND HOLD the shift key. Keep pressing until you see hte prompt to choose an existing library.
If you do not have your old database file, you will need to open Windows Explorer to the 2nd HD, and drag & drop the itunes folder into the itunes screen. Drop it on the word LIBRARY.

  • Problem with first generation iPhone after 3.1 upgrade - HELP!

    Hey all!
I'm wondering if any of you know how to help me out with this issue...
I have a first generation iPhone 16GB and I recently upgraded to 3.1 software, but my sim card is not supported - so I need to downgrade. I've tried restoring, tried QuickPwn but no success with anything. It's stuck on the emergency call screen. By the way, my sim card isn't supported on 3.0 either, so I need to downgrade it to the original. I've been browsing the web all day trying to find a solution and nothing yet. If you can help, I'd appreciated it GREATLY!
    Thanks so much!

  • Attempting to uninstall Elements 10 before installing Elements 11.  Uninstall crashes - help.

Have made many attempts to uninstall Elements 10 but it crashes early in the process. Something about the specified path not found. Please help.

Are you using the uninstaller for PSE10 or on Windows Add/Remove programs via the control panel?
See this link for manually removing the software. It relates to the latest version but you can possibly adapt it.
