Re-installing just final cut... (studio 2)

hello,
I just did a full format of my machine last night. installed final cut and did all the updates.
Final cut doesnt have the right icon and I tried to put in the disc to reinstall just final cut and it doesnt give me an option to uncheck everything else... or select just FCP...
any ideas?

I used a program called pacifist to reinstall parts of the packages.
I got pretty much everything working...
just one more issue...
I cant install Quicktime 7 Pro because Quicktime X is already present...
That also means I lose all the QT Pro features.... any idea how to fix that?

  • Damaged Install Disc Final Cut Studio

Hi, I have a problem with the installation of Final Cut Studio.
I just upgraded to Mac OS 10.6.4 and had to reinstall Final Cut Studio, nothing was working anymore. BUT! My installation disc is not readable by my Mac anymore. I only used it ONCE when I installed Final Cut Studio 2 years ago, since then it's always been in the box, protected as the Holy Graal. Is it possible to have a copy of the installation DVD? The other ones look ok, so I guess I only need that one.
    Can you help me?
    Thanks a lot in advance.

  • Errors During Instalation Of Final Cut Studio 5.1

    Aloha,
I am having some trouble here!! I am trying to install FCP Studio Pro 5.1 on my mac. I tried to do an upgrade from FCP 4.5 HD on my orriginal Hard drive. The instalation went through its paces & asked me to put in the second disc. I did then it came back with an anoucment that there were errors during instalation & to try again I did & was never able to get it to instal... Getting frustrated I ran diskworior on the drive & tried again no luck... after some time I thought it might be the drive would not let me because there was an earlier version on there.... so any way after some other problems with this drive I decided to completely erase & instal Mac OSX on my second hard drive that has never had anything on it. I made this my new startup disk & upgraded the OS to OS 10.4.9 I then Tried to install FCP Studio Pro 5.1 on this drive.. this time It never got to ask me to put in another disk it came back with the same error during instalation try again!!!!!! So now I am getting ******!! but odly enough Final cut studio shows up in my aplications. When I click on it it gives me a warning that there was an error registering & once I click ok it seems to launch FCP 5.1....... ?? So is it really there or not??? & why is it not installing the other 4 discs??? and to add insult to this I have tried to install iLife 06 & I get the same error!!!! WHY!!!!!!!!!
Another thing.. I installed FCP Studio Pro 5.1 on another Identical computer down the street & it installed no problem!!!!
    Can anyone help Please!!!!!!

I would take a different approach.
I would backup the old drive files to an external, and then do a clean wipe and new install of OS, updates and the FCS.
Best way to do it, in my view.

  • Quicktime Pro does not install with Final Cut Studio

I have an iMac with software version 10.5.7. I installed Final Cut Studio 2 (Final Cut version 6.05). With other similar installations on an iMac, Quicktime Pro came as a normal part of the software. On this iMac, the Pro version of Quicktime did not get installed. Is there a way to `unlock` it? Thanks

Final Cut Studio install should "unlock" the QuickTime Player Pro features.
What makes you think you do not have it?

  • Hello.  Can I install a Final Cut Studio 3 Upgrade package using a serial number from an old Final Cut Studio 1 package?

I would like to install Final Cut Studio 7 on my Macbook Pro (2012).
I may be able to get an upgrade package, which will mean I need a previous version of Final Cut Studio to install it.  I have an old Macbook with Final Cut Studio 1 on it.  Could I use the serial number from that version of Final Cut Studio to activate the new upgrade on a new computer?
    Thanks,
    Mark

    Thank you Jim.

  • FSCS2 Install time (Final Cut Studio 2)

Apple says the full upgrade takes 10-20min./disc. There are ten freakin' discs! OK so the Tutorial doesn't really need to be installed at each upgrade? Still, I have four edit stations to do for my client. So, if I did them all sequentially it would take (@2.6hrs each)- all day and into the night.
I plan on doing some in a parallel fashion to speed it up. Probably back one station up, just in case. What has your install time experience been?
Has anyone had to go back to earlier FCS/5.1.x? Why?

I would be create disc images of all discs to a FW drive (you need to remain a couple of discs).
This takes about the same time as a full install.
Remember, most of these are 8 GB DVDs.
Then install from the FW drive after mounting the discs.
    Use the separate serial numbers.
    Why go back to 5.1?

  • How to continue an interrupted install of Final Cut Studio 2?

After installing from half of the DVD's containing the new FinalCutStudio2 upgrade, the screensaver was turned on the Mac was locked. Had to force it to restart by pushing the power button. Now I wonder, do I have to start the install from the very beginning again, or is there a better way?

You have to start again unfortunately. Had a similar problem myself when my machine crashed during the install (foolishly, I decided to work in other applications during the install...)

  • Unable to install Final Cut Studio 2.0

I had the previous version of FInal Cut Studio and just purchased Final Cut Studio 2. I chose to uninstall Final Cut Studio first by dragging all the studio programs to the Trash figuring I didn't want to chance having two versions of Final Cut Studio on my computer.
I then went in to install Final Cut Studio 2. It allowed me to install the items such as Motion Content, LiveType, Audio Content, Studio Pro, etc. The option for selecting Final Cut Pro was greyed out and said skip. I don't know why but it's like it already thought it was on there and would just upgrade it. I tried it several times but always had this same set of options.
I went on then and did an install of Final Cut Studio hoping that when it came to installing it would actually work right. Well it installed all the supporting programs but not Final Cut Pro. How can I properly install the whole suite?

The FinalCut Suite 5 I'm running is misbehaving so before I install the new FinalCut Pro 6 Suite, I'd like to uninstall all of FCP Suite components and _all of their settings and customizations_. How do I make sure the new install is _absolutely clean and nothing from the previous installation effects it?_
    Thanks,
    Uri

  • Final Cut Studio (ver 1.0) won't install on brand new 2.8 ghz intel coreduo

I just bought a new 15inch MacBook Pro (4 GB memory) and went to install Final Cut Studio (ver 1.0) and then install the Final Cut Studio (HD) upgrade, but when I try to install Final Cut Studio (ver 1.0) I get this error: "Your computer does not have the hardware required to run this software. See the Read Me for details." All of the minimum requirements seem to be easily met, and I've run this old version of Final Cut Studio and the HD upgrade on my previous and older macbook, so I'm really confused on this error message. I can't find anything online. Anyone have any idea what is causing this hardware error?

I am getting the same message."Your computer does not have the hardware required to run this software. See the Read Me for details." I have FCP 5 and I am trying to install it on my new MacBook Pro. FCP 5.0 worked fine on my other mac and Im getting this message on my new one! any thoughts?

  • Final Cut Studio Pro 2 Install - Skip Final Cut Pro itself - TT_NEWALREADYI

    Dear All,
I hope you can help. I have just bought a new Macbook Pro 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4GB RAM, with OS X 10.4.10 running. It came with iLife 08.
I installed Logic Studio 8 (which was successful), and have been trying to install my copy of Final Cut Studio 2. When I run the installation, the options appear for custom install, but FInal Cut Pro, Compressor and QMaster are greyed out, and the action identified for them is "skip. If I rest the mouse over any of the options the text TT_NEWERALREADYINSTALLED appears.
I have tried uninstalling the Logic Studio components with AppZapper, and retrying the install of Final Cut Studio, but no matter what I try to do, it won't install Final Cut Pro.
    Can anybody help?
    Kind Regards,
    Nick.

  • How to install final cut studio on yosemite?

    Guys,
Before I start my next video project, I want to do a clean install of Yosemite and also a clean install of Final Cut Studio with FCP 7. I'm running a Mac Pro, 2.26 quad core (2009).
What's the best way to do this?
I know some people have had problems installing FCP7 on Yosemite. Just to play it safe, I'm currently partitioning my drive and will install a boot version of Yosemite to try the FCS install on. If all goes well, I'll totally wipe the drive and install Yosemite.
If things don't work out, I'll wipe the partition and stick to Mavericks.

    Insert the DVD.
    Click on the installer package.
    Follow the on screem instructions.

  • Final Cut Studio Install troubles

    Hi,
I am just trying to install my Final Cut Studio on my new MacBook Pro but the installation program is stuck with the last minute of the first FCP St. installation DVD on :
    -Running Packages scripts...
-Install time remaining : about a minute
Any idea what should i do ?? should I delete all related files including in the Library etc.. and if I have to do this, how ?
    Thanks

Ran into same problems. Tried many things. Finally removed Apperture because with FCS Remover, it says not to do a complete uninstall if you have other Pro software on your computer. (This is a new computer and I didn't have any pics in Apperture yet). After removing Apperture, I removed ALL of FCP with FCP remover. Then I installed ONLY Final Cut. Yeah! It installed. So I got brave and installed only Motion. It worked fine as well. Then I got greedy and tried to install Live Type. Got hung up again on the "running package scripts". Ugh. Out of time. I really wanted these three applications at least. I'm bummed that I can only get two of them.

  • Final Cut Studio 5.0.4 Upgrade to Final Cut Studio 2 HD Crash now needing to install on laptop

I had Final Cut Studio 5.0.4 on my laptop which I upgraded to Final Cut Studio 2 during the 12 month period when it was offered at a reduced price.  My old G5 Hard Drive has bit the dust and I am trying to install on my laptop.  I have successfully re-installed upto 5.0.4 including the troublesome compressor 2.0.1 and Qmaster 2.0.1.  There are no further updates apparently when my laptop scans for any.  I am running OSX 10.5.8.  Now when I put the disks in for the Studio 2 all FCP, Motion, Soundtrack Pro, Compressor, DVD Studio Pro, Apple Qmaster, Live Type and Cinema tools are all grayed out, saying they need to be upgraded first.  I am guessing it is because this 12 month deal is no longer available.  Does anyone know a work around for this?  I paid $499 for this upgrade and I cant re-install it?
My laptop is 2.4 GHz Intel Core Duo, 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SD RAM, small for FCP but I don't keep files on there.
    Any help would be appreciated.

why did you install FCP 5 when you are going to install FCS 2?   FCS 2 upgrade installer does not need  FCP 5 installed and therefore you dont need updates as you will be installing a newer version of FCP.
During the installation process of FCS 2 it should ask for the serial number of FCP 5 then ask for the upgrade serial number for FCS 2. You must have both of these or it wont install.
Check this spec for FCS 2 with your laptop to see if it is compatible, if the machine is not compatible, it wont install.

    Hi The Bunnell Farm-
Greetings and welcome to the Apple boards.
Legally you must have only one copy installed at any one time on any one machine. By definition, you would need a second purchased copy in order to run it legally on the 2nd Mac.
