Re-installing Lightroom 4 and Photoshop CS6

I intend to upgrade Windows 7 32 bit to 64 bit, which apparently means a clean install. Can I back up both Lightroom 4 and Photoshop CS6 for re-installation or will I have to make a fresh install from the discs. Furthermore CS6 was an upgrade to CS4 so will I also have to reinstall CS4. Will I need to deactivate or can I save the activation details?

Lightroom: No activation required so you can just reinstall. Download the latest 4.x release and install it rather than from your disk and upgrading - it is just cleaner.
PS, you need to deactivate on the existing machine. Install CS6 upgrade first and when prompted provide your CS4 information. Then activate on the new machine.

After buying and installing Lightroom and Photoshop I have the following issues, Lightroom wont even launch and photoshop quits after launching. OS Windows 8. Any tips please?

Contacted customer care on chat and my problem has been partially solved. THis means Lightroom is not launching and works fine after a different download link was supplied. Very helpful. However Photoshop is still not working and CS agent told me that my problem will be forwarded to technical department and that they will call me (number supplied) on Monday. So far no one called. What is my next step please? Any suggestions? I need the program up and running. THanks

32 Bit HDR Problem With Lightroom and Photoshop CS6

In following Julieanne's Adobe TV topic here -> http://tv.adobe.com/watch/the-complete-picture-with-julieanne-kost/quick-tip-creating-32bi t-hdr-images-in-lr-41/ a problem arises when trying to save from Photoshop CS 6. According to Julieanne you hit ctrl-s so that PS saves the HDR image and then it should show up in Lightroom. What I have found is that hitting crtrl-s saves it as a PSD file which does automatically show up in Lightroom, however Lightroom but can't read it. If I do a save-as, and select TIFF as the extension Lightroom will not automatically see the TIFF file. I have to synchronize the folder in order to have Lightroom import it.
Why would Lightroom automatically see a PSD file (that is of no use) and not see the TIFF file?
Is there a setting in PS that will change the preferences to save as a TIFF instead of a PSD file?
Using Lightroom 4.2 and Photoshop CS6.

Go to LR's preferences > External Editing tab and change the top pop-up to TIFF and you should be all set.

Install Lightroom and Photoshop on 2 Mac's

Have purchased a copy of lightroom and photoshop and they are installed in my Mac. Understand that the license permits installing these on my new laptop also. Is this correct? If so, how do I get a copy for my laptop?

Problem downloading the student edition of Lightroom and Photoshop cs6

I purchased the new lightroom and photoshop in August 2013. Because I purchased the student one I had to send a picture of my student ID card to prove I was a student and a bunch of other things to say which school I go to. Its now Feb 2014 and neither of them are downloaded to my computer and I never got a confirmation email back from adobe.
When It gives me the option to put my serial number in the boxes I always run short.
Has anyone else had this problem? please help me. I don't think I can return them now.

When Premier Pro is installed, Lightroom and Photoshop become unstable

I have a brand-new HP Z620 workstation. The CPU is a Xeon E5 2690 v2. Current RAM installers 32 gigs. Operating system is Windows 7 professional. I used Lightroom, Photoshop and premiere Pro on the previous system that uses same OS without issue. On the HP Z620with all this software installed and Lightroom open some unusual behavior is observed. When I select an image and then right-click the image and select "edit in Photoshop CS6" Lightroom should stay where it is but instead jumps from my right hand monitor to my left hand monitor. I uninstalled and reinstalled Lightroom several times even installing previous version but the symptoms didn't change. When I uninstalled and reinstalled Photoshop the symptoms disappeared and normal behavior is observed. Somehow during the Photoshop uninstall premiere Pro was also installed and when I reinstalled it the abnormal behavior described above has returned.
The graphics card is an Nvidia Quadro K 4000. I have e-mailed Nvidia tech support about 15 times and they have made a number of suggestions. None of the suggestions improve the situation and they finally have told me that there card cannot be the cause of this weird software behavior.
I have tried swapping monitor cables on the video card with no success.
I have other plug-ins for Lightroom from NIK and OnOne that do not cause this unusual behavior.

For Elements you can simply install the application and then set up the Elements Editor for external editing in the LR Library prefs. I’m assuming you won’t be using Oranizer as well as LR. That can lead to confusion and broken links unless you are very disciplined.
If you do intend to use Organizer the method is backup and restore, starting with an Organizer backup on the old PC.

Im having an issue with my newly installed Lightroom and Photoshop Elements working together.

I want to edit Lightroom photos in PSE-13 (merge to pano) but it says that "The files could not be edited because Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor could not be Launched." I see a lot of people have had this issue, but I don't have any reason to believe that there is one KNOWN solution. Even two photos won't merge in PSE-13. can you help?

When installing Illustrator and Photoshop CS6 I receive the error EX20. In looking at the installation log file there is warning DF029. Suggestions?

I have installed Lightroom and Photoshop on my IMac from a Creative Account. Can I also install copies on my Mac Book? I believe I can do this as long as I do not use them simultaneously. If I can how do I do it?

Posterization in Lightroom 4.4 and Photoshop CS6

I'm struggling with posterization in Lightroom 4.4 and Photoshop CS6. I'm shooting RAW on a Nikon D800. Unedited bright sunset photos show nasty posterization. Screenshot is included, unedited. Any suggestions on what to do about this?

It would be difficult to take this picture without blowing out the brightest areas. The Highlights slider is what you want to use to recover the blown posterized areas. Looking at the LR default settings Histogram the Black level is very high, which may be due to lens flare. Either way using a lower in-camera exposure setting would help to retain highlight detail.
