Re-Installing my I-Tunes

I had to clean my hard drive recently, so naturally i had to re install i tunes. Before i connect my I-pod, i was wondering what, if anything, will happen to my songs already on my I-pod and how i can, if possible, put those songs directly from my i pod back into my library?

Typically, you would have made backups of your music (and data) files prior to cleaning (reformating?) your HD. Syncing a full iPod to an empty iTunes will erase your iPod.
If you do not have any backup music files, then these links will give you several methods of recovering whatever songs remain on your iPod; some free, some third-party software, some more comprehensive for restoring playlists, ratings, playcounts, etc. Read them and their associated links before deciding on a strategy that works for you. There are many various third-party software programs that will offer a more robust process, or an easier GUI. Do a Google search for them if the links below leave you wanting…

After recovering your song files, strongly consider developing a thorough backup strategy for just this type of situation.
You need at least three sets of your music:
-- One full set on the PC within iTunes (on internal HD or ExHD)
-- One full set on an separate external backup medium (CD/DVD/ExHD/other)
-- One (full or partial) set on the iPod
Music files on just the iPod and the computer is not considered having any backup. If you cannot store your complete music files on the computer, then create and maintain two external sets.
Backup both the music files and the Library database file (iTunes Library.itl). What are the iTunes Library files?

I upgraded from Vista ultimate to Win. 7. When I tried to install the TV tuner, nothing seemed to happen.

Save the TV Tuner driver to the desk top and use 7zip to extract the files. There may be a folder there named SRC. Open that and look for the Windows install icon.

Note that it says it is out of date because of pacman. Really all you need to know is that pacman uses signed packages now, so it is now necessary to run the pacman-key stuff. Or set SigLevel = Never in pacman.conf
Edit: IMHO the first method is preferred because it more closely resembles a regular install. Ergo, you will be able to semi follow the beginners guide for config and such.

What version of Windows are you using? This is not a problem with iTunes. It may have to do with an issue of the compatibility of a newer version of iTunes with an older Windows system/older hardware.
What do you want to synchronize? If you were previously using iCloud you should be able to restore most of your oringinal content onto your new phone via was was last synched with the iCloud on your previous phone/device.

Cannot receive art work "after" Cd's installed on I TUNES

Hello!
XP user here.
1) Installed entire library of CD's on ITUNES (very time consuming).
2) Then set up my account.
3) Then permitted the automatic updates.
No album covers. Seems that the only way I can get it is through down-loading the CD's "all over again." It's the only way I can now see the covers.
I know I did this backwards (on advice of another non-I Tune user...should have known better).
Suggestions????

Cant install new i tunes, cant uninstall old i tunes

after upgrading to itunes 9.1 in the usual manner it froze and slowed computer down.
Decided to uninstall and re-install afresh but wont let me uninstall old itunes and i get an message saying 'the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable?'
so no itunes as if i try to install it i get messages saying it can't remove old components(bonjour etc) and then says it cant install quicktime.finish!

I have tried installing quicktime on it's own but it tells me that at cannot remove the old version of quicktime and to contact technical support. It does this when i try to install itunes and seems to be unable to uninstall older versions.
I have tried removing the itunes files in program files.
If you try to uninstall it tells me it cant find itunes msi and to try to find the installation package itunes msi in a folder in which you can install the product i tunes.

Cannot install latest i-tunes

My son received a new Nano for Christmas. My wife and I both have older i-pods that have been working fine with i-tunes 7.???. When I tried to connect my son's new i-pod, we received the error that we needed to download the latest i-tunes in order to use the new i-pod. We attempted the download multiple times now, and each time we get this error.
"HKEYCURRENTUSER\SOFTWARE\Apple Computer, Inc.\iTunes. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel."
The only references I can find relate to some Apple parental control settings in the Registry. I'm not very familiar with registry entries and manipulations so I would prefer not to play around in their if possible. Does anyone know why this error is occurring? We don't have separate log-ins in my family so it's not like one of us is the Admin. I can't understand why previous downloads worked fine. We run Window XP if that means anything.

I am getting issue while downloading iTunes 11.1.3 for my Iphone 4S
I am successfully able to install the iTunes on the computer, but when I open the software I get following Error:
"Apple Application Support was not found.

Installing updates using Tuner

We are going to be installing Acrobat Elements and Reader 7.0 using the InstallShield Tuner for 7.0. I would like to install any updates that are out for those versions during the installation. What is the best way to include the updates with the initial installation using Tuner? I want to be able to package it all up and only have to perform one install, if possible.

Make an admin install point, patch the admin install, then deploy.
1) msiexec /a elements.msi transforms="elements.mst" (transform was made in acrobat tuner 7)
2) then in the admin install directory Â > msiexec /a elements.msi /p Ac705EmP_efgj.msp
3) then copy the transform from your original elements folder into the admin folder and install Elements 7

Anyone having trouble installing latest I-Tunes?

Downloaded I-tunes 11, downloaded ok, waited over 90 minutes and it would not complete installation, blue bar showed it almost compete but after 90 minutes I figured it was not going to install...Tried it twice, no luck. All programs were off including I-tunes but I still did get a warning to close I-tunes....

Run through this list of fixes, you have something else wrong and it needs to be fixed, then install iTunes again

Just bought new PC with windows 8.1 and installed the 64bit tunes as instructed by the new PC. Only a small part of my music library is now showing but can see all the files in the itunes folder on an eternal hard drive linked to my old XP pc.

Problem - changed PC to one with Windows 8.1 ( previous from 2006 with Windos XP). Previously all ITunes stuff on an external harddrive as 80 gigs of music too much for the old PC
When attached Harddrive to new PC was told needed to install the new 64 bit iTunes as 32 bit iTunes not compatable.
Did so but only a very small portion of my music is showning - though rest of Library is still on the external drive in the folder.

Under iTunes Media though I do not have folders for Books,iPod Games, Mobile Applications, Movies, TV Shows so I only have Auto Add to iTunes, Music, Downloads and Podcasts - My question here is is this OK.
Next - Library files that you mention are there but do not end .itdb
Next - in the main iTunes folder followingon from Artwork and Media folders there is some other iTunes database stuff like Library Extras, Library Genius, Library and Music Library(xml) all dated 10/02/12 plus MimiPlayer .dll dated 21/02/14 and Set Up Short Cut dated22/03/14
AND there is also a Programme Files folder with a sub folder holding file folders called CD Configuration,iTunes Resources, iTunes Help Resources, iTunes Mini Player Resources and Mozilla Plugins all dated 24/03/14 ( when I downloaded the new iTunes) and then a lot of application extension stuff from 2011
To recap I unistalled the old 32 bit iTunes and installed the new 11.1.5 (64 bit) version over the weekend SO is any of the old stuff listed above required.
Outcome right now is that as previously I can only call up the Downloaded music not Podcats or CD copies.

TS1389 I am trying to authorize my new DELL computer. I installed the i tunes today so it is up to date. THERE IS NO "AUTHORIZE THIS COMPUTER" WHEN I CLICK STORE.

I am trying to authorize my new DELL computer to i tunes, which I updated today.Under the instructions it says: under store menu choose Authorize this computer. When I get to store there is no menu and no"authorize this computer."

There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them:
