Re-installing Photoshop Elements after hard-drive 'wipe'

I have to have my hard-drive 'wiped' thus erasing all installed programs.
Do I just use the disc and product code on the box to re-install P.E.?

Yes. You need your serial number, not the redemption code if you had one of those. The redemption code is only used once, to get a serial number and then you use the serial number from then on. If you need help finding your serial number:

  • How do I recover my photoshop elements after hard drive replacement?

I recently had to replace my main drive on the computer, so I have to reload all my software.  I originally installed photoshop elements 3.0 and still have the CDs and serial number, but cannot install it because it isn't compatable with windows 7.  I had upgraded to 5.0 and have that CD, but it is upgrade only and will not install because it cannot detect an earlier installation.  I do have all the files copied from my previous drive into a directory in the new drive, but the installation of 5.0 didn't find what it needed, even when I gave it the correct directory.
How do I get my photoshop elements back on my computer?
    Thanks!

You should not need to reinstall Elements 3 at all. Upgrade disks contain the full version of the software. The serial numbers tells the installer if you have a full version or an upgrade.
Just install Elements 5 from the upgrade disk, enter your Elements 5 upgrade serial number then enter your Elements 3 serial number when prompted.

  • Photoshop Elements 11 hard drive space system requirement?

I have a macbook pro with 4gb of memory in the hard-drive. I wanted to get photoshop elements 11 but the system requirements includes 4gb of hard-drive. Because some of my memory has been used up, does that mean I can not install photoshop elements 11 in my computer?

Just to get the terminology clear: you're not mixing RAM specs with hard drive space, are you?
Photoshop Elements 11 requires 1 GB of RAM and 4GB of hard drive space

MacBook Pros come with 8GB of system RAM. Older models had 4GB of RAM. Plenty for PSE11 or PSE12.

Hard drives are usually are 128GB or 256GB or 512GB or higher. Again, plenty for PSE11 or PSE12.
What are the exact specs (RAM and hard drive storage) of your MacBook Pro and how much hard drive space do you have free?
Plus, bear in mind that Photoshop Elements 12 was released in late September and is now the current version. Adobe no longer sells PSE 11.

  • After hard drive wipe, can't install Chrome! Need it!

I just went through a major Apple phone support trauma and wiped my hard drive clean, then reinstalled with Time Machine. All my apps are working fine but one is dependent on Chrome. I install Chrome, but all that happens when I try to open it is the icon bounces a few times and then sits there.
I'm using Yosemite and have no other software or App issues except that my iPhoto Library demands a repair on each start up. Another question, I suppose.
    TIA.

I have no idea why Chrome is doing that.  I assume since you just installed there are no extensions causing any start issues.  It is possible that you have some other app that is conflicting with Chrome.  What happens if you launch Safari?  Try to do a safe boot and see if Chrome starts.  If it does this means some conflict with another program when you boot under your account.

  • Can I install Snow Leopard over Lion to install old software after hard drive crashed?

My hard drive crashed and I lost everything.  I have a new hard drive, but when the repair shop installed my operating system, they installed Lion and I no longer have my prior updates.  My computer had been updated a few times.  I have a lot of software that only can be installed up to 10.7 such as Adobe Photoshop Elements 10, Office Mac 2011, etc.  I was wondering if I installed Snow Leopard over Lion, would I lose Lion?  Should I install Snow Leopard and then Lion again?  I don't want to damage my like new computer and I don't want to have to go out and buy all new software.  Is there a solution?  Thanks in advance!

Sounds complicated!  If I repartition the drive and install Snow Leopard onto the blank volume, will Lion still be there?  Or, will the computer basically have two operating systems that I have to go back and forth from.  Is this something a novice like myself can do?

  • Trouble installing snow leopard after hard drive replacement

My imac hdd died last weekend. And the replacement hdd came in today.
I went through all the steps in this guide https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/iMac+Intel+21.5-Inch+EMC+2389+Hard+Drive+Replacemen t/6284 And I am pretty sure I did it all correctly.
However, after plugging my imac back up it gave me a flashing folder with a question mark. I took this as it asking for a os disk to install with so I put my snowleopard disk into the imac. The folder with the question mark turned into the apple logo.....and that's it. It just stays on the apple logo and nothing happens. I tried leaving it like that for a good hour. But nothing changed.
What am I doing wrong? My imac is a mid 2010 model (emc 2389). I'm pretty sure the included os on it was Leopard. Do I need to try and find my Leopard disk that was in the box? I'm not sure where it is and all I have at hand is my Snow Leopard installation disk. And if I do need to use Leopard, how would I do that if I can't find the disk my imac came with?

With the Snow Leopard DVD in the drive, Restart the Mac while holding down the "C" key. It will then boot from the DVD drive, a slower process for sure, but not more than a few minutes. Once booted, you can use Disk Utility to verify that the new internal drive is formatted properly, GUID. Some new drives come pre-formatted as something else.

  • How to re-install PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS after upgrading to WINDOWS 8?

    Hi,
I purchased a new HP ENVY 14-3011TU ULTRABOOK a couple of days ago. It came standard with WINDOWS 7, ADOBE PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS and BEATS AUDIO.
I upgraded to WINDOWS 8, installed a few programs but decided to start over new. So, I re-installed WINDOWS 8 selecting the option that will delete all programs. Silly me didn't realise at the time that it would also delete the programs that came standard with my Ultrabook; ADOBE PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS and BEATS AUDIO.
I managed to get BEATS AUDIO back, but I'm still searching for a solution to get ADOBE PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS BACK without paying any $$.
    PLEASE HELP!

have you considered HP's tech support options?  They have a forum as well and sometimes they have software along with drivers that you can download for your computer model, depending on the model.

  • Can't install Photoshop Elements after downloading

I just purchased Adobe Photoshop Elements and downloaded it to my new laptop (MacBook Air OS X, 10.7.2).  It has apparently downloaded completely but when I click the Install button, I get the message "The following disk images couldn't be opened, invalid checksum".  I went back to the software library and downloaded it again, as suggested, and it still didn't work.  Please help!

No, I haven't had any problems with other disc images.  I checked to see that Photoshop had downloaded completely and it had (.dmg).  I don't have an inti-virus program to disable, I restarted the computer and clicked on the installation icon again, and each time that I did that, the same message appeared.  I have not yet gotten as far the screen which asks for the registration #.

  • Re-install design premium after hard drive failure

In May 2012, I installed Creative Suites on my laptop. My laptop's hard drive has failed. How do I transfer my Abode programs to a new computer?

You install them using installation files.  Here is a general link that can lead you to downloads for whichever Creative Suites you installed.
    Download and Installation Help -
    https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install.html
Assuming you lost the laptop without deactivating the Adobe suites, you should contact Adobe Support thru chat and ask them to reset your activations.  That way you will still have ypour two allowed activations available to you in case you want to install on a second machine as backup.
For the link below click the Still Need Help? option in the blue area at the bottom and choose the chat option...

  • Re-Installing Creative Cloud after hard drive crash

I recently had a hard drive crash and had to install a new hard drive.  My old data was backed up on a slave disk but I can't get it to run again.  I can't even uninstall the previous suite because the Control Panel - Add / Remove program window will not show the slave disk  with the applications.  If I install it again I don't want to use up the "second" download that comes with the purchase of the license.  Where do I go from here?

    Hi allegrophoto,
If you did not deactivate your software before the crash, you can contact Adobe customer support (http://helpx.adobe.com/contact/) to enable your activation count. You can then install it again. I am not sure what you mean by "second download".
    Thanks,

  • Re-installing Photoshop Elements after a crash

Following a computer crash, I lost PSE 10.  Some elements of the old version have remained on my computer.  I have downloaded PSE 10 but when trying to install it, the installer will only try to uninstall the old copy.  How can I convince it that there is no other copy?

photoshop element 2.0 - on windows 7. the program ran fine on the old HD, but this error popped up when I re-installed it on the new HD
Elements 2.0 is an old version. The message may be due to the fact that your new HD is much bigger than your older one, and not due to the classical reasons:

  • ILife Apps - iPhoto missing after Hard drive wipe.

I have a MacBook Pro Spring 2010. When I bought it, I had all of the iLife apps preinstalled. When OS X Mavericks came out, I upgraded. I ran out of space, so I wiped the hard drive after backing up my important files to a hardrive. To get my iLife apps back, I used the CD, i got them all back except iPhoto. How do I get iPhoto back?

Run the software update to upgrade to  the latest compatible version for Mavericks.
    Apple Menu()>Software Update>iPhoto
It keeps old and new versions in your App folder.  So drag the new icon down to the Dock if need be.
