Re-installing Uninstalled Acrobat 9

I had Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 installed on my Mac, but uninstalled it meaning to re-install. However, I can't seem to re-install it. It's a work laptop, don't have the product key, and don't know who bought the software either. If I buy an upgrade, will it work? Help!

No. It will not work. For purchasing an upgrade version, you need to have the serial key for the old version. Best option for you will be to contact you IT and get the serial key or purchase a full version of Acrobat X.

  • FrameMaker V9 upgrade install uninstalled Acrobat 6!

We HAD a Frame V7.2, with Acrobat Standard V6. We upgraded to Frame V9, bundled with Acrobat (through CDW). After the install, Acrobat Standard V6 was GONE. The Frame V9 installation included Acrobat V9 DISTILLER, but we need the functionality of Acrobat STANDARD (we often have to work in .pdf documents outside of Frame). Now, we have a Tech. Pubs. office that is BROKEN!
    My questions:
-Do we have to now buy a new license for Acrobat Standard (even though we had that functionality BEFORE the Frame V9 install -- bought specifically bundled with Acrobat so we wouldn't run into problems with Frame-Acrobat incompatibility and feature loss?
-If we DO need to buy a new Acrobat Standard license, will a standard install work properly with Frame (this hasn't always been the case with past releases). Also, what kind of deal could we work with Adobe for the cost since we were kind of blind-sided into this?
-How about Acrobat Pro? We found this ALWAYS works with FrameMaker. We have licenses for Acrobat Pro, but this is V7.2 -- which will not install over the (FORCED) Acrobat V9 install now in place after the Frame install. Again, what kind of deal could we work with Adobe for the cost if we need to upgrade THESE licenses?
This is very frustrating and convoluted. Booo, Adobe -- I know Frame is a teeny part of your sales, but Frame and Acrobat should work better together than this, considering the target users.
Thanks in advance for any help,
    --Bob Mueller

I have the exact same problem.  I also tried installing Acrobat Standard 6.0 on after FrameMaker 9 is installed and was able to do that successfully.  However, I get an error during installation indicating the printer cannot install and sure enough, the PDF printer is gone after the installation, which also means that Frame's "Save as PDF" function no longer works either.  It seems pretty ridiculous to me that these two products are not compatible.  Have you found a solution other than upgrading your Acrobat Standard?

  • Uninstalling Acrobat Trial on MacBook

I am trying to install a paid version of Professional X but cannot complete the installation due to another version being on my computer.  I installed and trial 76 days ago and it has long expired, but I cannot seem to uninstall so that I can download the paid version.

    Hi Rita,
We dont recommend to have two different versions of Acrobat installed on same machine. You need to uninstall Trial version from your computer and then install Acrobat X.
What is the problem you are facing while uninstalling Acrobat from your machine?
Try steps mentioned in this link, manually uninstalling Acrobat from Mac: Installing, uninstalling Acrobat X | Mac OS

  • Acrobat Pro 9 & XI both installed on Mac. How can I uninstall Acrobat Pro 9 & not affect Acrobat XI?

Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 and Acrobat Pro XI are installed on the same iMac with OS X 10.8.5.  How do I safely uninstall only Acrobat Pro 9 without affecting Acrobat Pro XI?
When I first installed Acrobat Pro XI, I thought maybe I was suppose to leave Acrobat Pro 9 on my computer.
So now I have both Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 and Acrobat Pro 11 installed.
I see no benefit to having both installed. I want to uninstall only the Acrobat Pro 9 and not Acrobat Pro XI.
I am not sure that I can safely uninstall Acrobat Pro 9 without affecting the functioning and files for Acrobat Pro XI.
I started to uninstall Acrobat 9, but I stopped when I saw a warning in a little window.
I went to the  "Acrobat Uninstaller.app"  file in the  "Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro"  folder and double clicked it.
The Acrobat folder for Acrobat XI Pro came up with the file "Adobe Acrobat Pro.app" selected
I manually selected the  "Adobe Acrobat Pro.app"  file in the  "Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro" folder.
When I clicked on "Adobe Acrobat Pro.app" for Acrobat 9  a window with a warning came up. So I stopped.
"Uninstall will remove files, folders, and preferences installed by Acrobat from your system.
There is no undo available. User data files and directories shared by other Adobe applications will not be removed."
Should I go ahead and click [Uninstall]?
I don't think it will delete my pdf files.
Will this affect my Acrobat XI operating &/or preferences? Will Acrobat XI still function correctly?
What do I have to do to safely have just Acrobat XI on my computer without Acrobat 9?
    Thank you for any help.

I am trying to uninstall, I tried to uninstall, but I got the following message when trying to uninstall: "Invalid Application. The application selected was not a valid Acrobat application for this uninstaller. Please rerun the uninstaller." Acrobat 9 installation suddenly stopped working
    Can you help?

  • Uninstalling Acrobat 7.0 and installing Acrobat XI

I just purchased Acrobat XI, and it came in the mail last night.  I'm trying to install it, but I'm running into a problem - every time I try to install it, it needs me to uninstall Acrobat 7.0.  I go through the steps for that, everything seems to have gone fine, and then it asks me to restart my computer.  When I restart, everything goes well until I type in my password to log into my account.  At that point, the screen goes black, and it never logs me in.  The only way to resolve it is to boot in Safe Mode and restore my system to an earlier point. This only happens when I try to install XI and/or uninstall 7.0.  I need XI for work, so I really need to get this figured out as soon as possible.
I am running on Windows 7.
    Thanks!
    Josh

    Ned,
    Thanks for your quick response.
Will it crash the system or will there just be glitches or inconsistencies in the performance of W8? I’m willing to live with the latter, but definitely not the former.

  • I downgraded from CC to CS6, and Acrobat XI is now in trial mode. How can I use the Acrobat X that comes with the CS6 Master Collection disc? Should I uninstall Acrobat XI then install Acrobat X? What about de-/reactivation?

I've read about deactivating/reactivating with Photoshop. If applicable, how is that done?

deactivating is done by opening a programs > click help > click deactivate.
that's not applicable to cc apps.

  • Uninstall acrobat x after installing xl

Apparently the “Compete / Full” install of Acrobat Xl did not remove Acrobat X. Now that I have my Acrobat Xl installed, the complete version, can I uninstall Acrobat X to save some space on the hard drive?  I running 64 bit OS Windows 7 Professional.

Interesting; when I upgraded to Acrobat XI on my Windows 7, Acrobat X was completely uninstalled.
Does Acrobat X still show in your Programs & Features?  If so, I think it's safe to uninstall, as the two versions are in different program folders.

It's a 3rd party app.  You really should contact Adobe Support and/or post in the Adobe Forums
    Mac OS X (10.6.6)
Use Software Update or the OS 10.6.8 combo update to update your OS.  Also, update everything SU has to offer for your computer.  When done, repair permissions and restart your computer.

  • Acrobat CS4 Install / Uninstall Problem

I'm using Windows Vista Business.  I installed CS4 Design Premium and was unable to get Acrobat to work properly.  It refused my serial number.  All other programs accepted the serial number.  I believe Acrobat was having problems b/c I installed with a previous version of Reader still on the machine --or-- I tried to activate with Acrobat first before any other program.  I have read that both could be my problem.
In short, I am trying to uninstall Acrobat so that I can reinstall CS4.  The CS4 installer removed everything except Acrobat (it does not even see it on the machine).  My control panel uninstall does not see Acrobat either.  However, it is on my start menu and in my programs folder and I can open the program.  How do I get this uninstalled?  I have also used the CS4CleanScript and it does not find any installed programs.

Use the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Tool to remove all vestiges of Reader and Acrobat in the Registry.

  • I have uninstalled Acrobat XI Pro with its uninstaller in the applications folder. And CC desk top app still says its installed

I have followed these stapes below,
Use a different uninstaller to uninstall Acrobat X:
    Mac OS
Go to the Applications > Utilities > Adobe Installers and run the Acrobat X Pro uninstaller from this location. The uninstaller is named "Acrobat X Pro."
Quit ACC and then restart ACC.
But I don't have Acrobat X Pro uninstaller in the utilities folder, and the CC desktop app still says its in stalled.
    Can any one help please?

    Hi Word247,
Please follow the step 2 and 3 mentioned in the KB: CC desktop lists applications as "Up to Date" when not installed

I am having a issue installing Adobe Acrobat XI.  I am running Windows 8.1. When  go to install it gets an error.  The error is with transform in registry and will not install product. I am looking at how I can fix this registry problem.
I have tried to uninstall all Abode Acrobat installations but one file remains and refuses to be uninstalled. It gives me this error : Error applying Transforms . Verify that specified paths are valid. It was installed on Sept 18 2014.  I have downloaded a Transform update but it tells I do not have a Adobe Acrobat product installed.

    Hi all,
Sylonious, did you manage to sort this problem out? I have been experiencing similar problems. I think my problem was because I had many different versions of JDKs. I have done a complete re-install. I would be really grateful to you (and anyone else) for help with this problem.
I have re-installed JSDK1.4.2_03, set the "path" variable to "C:\JSDK1.4.2_03".
When I compile using "javac" I get an error saying "javac" is not recognised.
When I compile using "C:\j2sdk1.4.2_03\bin\javac Freq.java" no error is thrown.
Every time I try to run a java file, I always get the NoClassDefFound error. When run with the -verbose option, files are loaded from C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_03\bin - is this correct?
I have removed all previous references to java in the registry editor.
    Please help !
    Regards,
    Vipul
