Re-installing windows, will i have to re buy office 2013

I am going to re install windows on my laptop,I was wondering if I would have to buy office again if I wiped my hard drive and re install windows.

Hi,
You can reinstall Office and activate it with your original product key. As long as your hardware is not substantially different, Office product key will still works.
If you have made changes to the hardware, then it will be considered as a new computer. You may choose the phone activation and activate the Office. You might check this link to see how to do a phone activation:

Get a Virtual Macine software program, Parallels, VMware Fusion or VirtualBox, and install XP in a virtual machine.
You can't install XP in a Boot Camp Partition with Lion or Mt Lion, only Win 7.

Install or Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Erase the hard drive:
      1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
      2. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the
left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
      3. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on
the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass. Click on
the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
      4. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Install button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • Install Windows 8.1 on MacBook Pro 13" late 2013

    Hi
I'm trying to install windows on my mac since 2 days.
The version of OS X i'm running is yosemite. The version of windows  i bought from the microsoft store is an iso version of windows 8.1 Professional.
This is my procedure to install windows:
    1) open boot camp and select all of checkbox
    2) in the next page i select the iso of windows and insert my usb 3.0 Kingston DataTravel 16gb
    3) bootcamp downloads all the necessary
    4) when it asks me to choose the size of the windows partition i move the indicator to 100gb
    5) bootcamp reboot my mac, in this moment i don't know what to do. i hear the sound but my mac show a black screen for a long time. After 3 hours of black screen i decide to shut down it. if i press the power button the mac starts but after few minutes it shows me a black screen with this message:  No bootable device -- insert disk and press key.
Why does it happen? i have a usb in my port.
If i start my mac and press the option button, after the mac shows me the boot page, i insert my usb and it show me (MAC, recovery, windows and uefi).
if i select uefi, my mac shows me this page: http://i62.tinypic.com/n6tlb6.jpg and if i try to install windows 7 i have the same problem.
How can i fix this issue?
    Please help me guys

Maybe people have found a solution already but yesterday I managed to install Win 8.1 as a BootCamp on my new 15" retina MBP.  I followed the steps John Guo described but with a couple of changes as his approach failed for me.
    1. Make sure you are starting from a single partition.
    2. Create the Windows install USB from the ISO and also allow BootCamp Assistant to create download the drivers - but untick the option to install windows.
    3. Open Disk Utility and create a new partition and format as MS-DOS (FAT) rather than leave as free space.
    4. Restart your Mac and use the option to boot into the Windows part of the USB not the EFI-boot.
    5. Follow the install
    6. When it comes to the drive selection select the FAT drive. Windows installer will say it cannot install here as it needs to be and NTFS partitiion (in previous atempts I always got the message to say the partitiion was using GUI partition table so could not install even though it was formatted to NTFS).
    7. The format to NTFS should work fine and install proceed.
    8. When the installer reboots the machine you will need to use the boot option to ensure you boot back into Windows.
    9. Once installed the bootcamp driver install runs automatically and for me all drivers run fine even the NVIDIA, which I've seen some people mention having issues with.
I was inpressed with Windows automatically scaling the text to 200%, which meant it was using the full 2880x1800 resolution so everything was crisp but the windows and text was scaled nicely. I changed this 150% to give me some more real estate.
I'm guessing that by formatting the new partition as FAT it creates a MBP within the new drive that is writable by windows but I'm not a windows guru so this is a guess. But anyway, this work perfectly.
    hope this helps some people.

  • Will i have to upgrade my Office 2008?

No - Office 2008 works fine in Lion.

  • Windows Update won't find updates for Office 2013?

    Hi,
    I'm on Windows 7 Enterprise SP1.
I have Office 2013 Professional Plus.
Whenever I check Windows Update for updates, it never seems to bring up updates for Office.  I assume there have been at least some updates to Office 2013 since it was released?
My Windows Update screen tells me:
"You receive updates: For Windows only."
When I click the "Find out more" to get updates for other MS products, all that happens is the IE opens up on a page that says "Use your Start menu to check for updates"
So... how do I get Windows Update to check for updates to Office 2013?  I feel very confused--I mean, shouldn't I be able to set Windows Update to check for updates for a whole host of MS programs (Silverlight, .NET, Office, etc.)?
I've tried changing the Windows Update settings to include other Microsoft products but there's no option to do so when I check.
Any insight would be appreciated! Someone recommended I ask here because I'm on Windows 7 Enterprise.

    Check for updates manually

  • HT1349 After installing windows 8, I have no sound on my mac desktop. Need help?

    Hi,
I recently installed Windows 8 and after the installation there is no audio (sound) in my iMac. I can't hear youtube videos, mp3 files, no nothing.
    Suggestions to solves this problem?

As you sure that you don't have system sounds muted? If you have sound in the music app, then system sounds are muted.
If you lose sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds may have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the task bar. Double tap the home button and in the task bar at the bottom, swipe all the way to the right. The speaker icon is all the way to the left. Tap on it and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock rotation can be accessed via the task bar in the same manner as described above.
This support article from Apple explains how the side switch works.

  • I have lost my install disks, will I have to pay for another set? :o[

Will I have to pay for another set of disks if I have lost mine. I set my computer up after reinstalling it and cant friggin' think where the disks are now. But I want the iLife '08 suite on it now! :o[
Is there a way I can get them for free from apple or will i have to pay? :o[

Well... Apple is certainly under no obligation to cover the cost of the DVDs and shipping because you lost yours... However, they will ship you a new set for a nominal fee. Just give them a call. Be sure to have your serial number handy as the restore media is machine specific.

  • Installing windows 8.1 on new mac pro (late 2013)

    Greetings,
First time poster so forgive me if I mess up protocol.
I'm trying to install Window 8.1 on my new late 2013 Mac Pro via bootcamp.
I have followed all the steps in bootcamp and the installation fails saying "cannot update boot configuration".
I tried using a few methods I saw people on here had success with creating their own partitions with disk utility, but I still have not had success.
My system is the 6 core version, 16gb RAM, 512gb flash storage, D500 graphics cards
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same problem with my brand new MacPro (6-Core, D700, 1tb SSD)
I have called Apple support to report this issue, in the mean time I've done the following tests:
    Windows 7/8 tests NO Joy...
I have also tried tricking the windows 8 installer by doing the following.
1)Boot of Windows 8 installation (USB)
2)At the setup screen it will ask you to format your boot camp created drive to NTFS so that windows can be installed.
After the formatting is done and windows is ready to install i swap the Windows 8 USB stick for a Windows 7 USB stick then I click on next.
3)Windows starts copying the files just like it did on the Windows 8 installation and I get the same error.
    "Can't update boot configuration"
I guess it has nothing to do with the Windows USB Stick since I've tried installing Win 7/8 and 8.1 with the exact same error.
I have not received any news from Apple support on this issue.
Any other ideas or suggestions ?
    Thanks!

You can install Windows 8.1 using Boot Camp Assistant or by using a virtual machine like Parallels, Fusion, or VirtualBox.

No, if you purchase apps, just log in with the same account, click buy, and it will download them to your iPhone for free. Also, sn4p2k, I die a little every time someone says "itouch." It's an iPod touch. itouch is a creepy confession, not a mobile gaming/music platform.
