• How to integrate Blogs & Discussion Forums for Webcenter Suite 10gR3?

  Hi,
  One of our clients has just gone live with a Webcenter 10gR3 Portal implementation (using WC Framework). They're now interested in integrating blogs and discussion forums with their Portal.
  My understanding is that blogging, discussion forum etc is not supported in Webcenter 10gR3. Correct me if wrong?
  Can someone share any solutions which have been implemented around the same. Eg: I read about using blogs, wiki etc from Webcenter 11g Stack and exposing them web services.
  Basically what are the possible options we can explore into?

  Thanks Venkat. Actually we're not considering migrating to 11g I was only looking for possible options and this was one of them that I read the forum.
  Thought to adding some more information about this portal: It is developed in WLP so they're on Weblogic Server.
  Jon Huang, Director Product Management for Webcenter Suite and Portal tells me
  "The WebCenter 10.1.3.4 Additional Services releases contains wiki/blog/discussions and is certified with WebCenter 10gR3 version:

  *You'll need to use WLS for these additional services.*"
  That answers my question, but would appreciate if others can share any more info on similar implementations, if done.

  More details about your discussions forum will make others easier to find a corresponding solution on your requirement.
  If you mean there are three Discussion Board list waiting for synchronizing, I would suggest you create an Event Receiver for the three Discussion Board list.

• Integrating a forum with custom CMS

  I've made a CMS for a client's site. This site allows people

  register and once they've logged they get access to certain
  pages which
  the general public can't see. There are different levels of
  membership
  too, and some pages are only available to the top level.
  I'd like to add a forum to the site and wondered whether
  anyone had an
  experience of integrating a ready-made forum (like phpbb or
  vbulletin)
  with their own system.
  My requirements would be:
  I want users to be able to use their existing login to access
  the board.
  I need restrict certain forums depending the membership level
  of the user.

  If you are going to mix and match and you have hand-coded the
  CMS it might be easier to just use the member's database from the
  pre-made script.
  For example, there are scripts like IP Converge which works
  with IP Board that allows you to have restricted areas elsewhere on
  your site while accessing the user database of IP Board for the
  management. I believe vBulletin has the same type of setup.
  I personally use IP Board, but I would also recommend
  vBulletin for this job. I have seen plenty of examples where IP
  Converge was used and it seems to work fairly easily.

  Ok I got Integration with Worklist on webcenter portal. If you are following this http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/webcenter.1111/e10148/jpsdg_worklists.htm#BEIIBCCI and are running into the same error I had. The one about the Policy Store being Invalid and are developing with Jdeveloper. This is what you do.
  1. Log into the administration server for JDeveloper.
  2. Go to deployments.
  3. click on wsm-pm
  4. select the targets tab.
  5. check the wsm-pm ( i also checked all the ones that were under it when you expanded the selection)
  6. Click change targets.
  7. Select Default server and click yes.
  8. Restart the integrated server.

  For some reason I can´t login here into the forum while using Safari.
  I have to use from Firefox (like I'm doing now).

  I'm facing problem while consuming Jive Discussion forum using Oracle JDeveloper 10.1.3.4
  Following are the steps i followed fot this...
  1) Deployed Jive-5.1.0 using OC4J WebCenter instance ( Deployed in Oracle App Server 10.1.3)
  2) Integrated discussion forum Portlet with Oracle WebCenter Discussion application.
  This is done by making use of deploy-jive-portlet.jar and oracle-jive-portlet.zip
  3) Registration
  Able to register with WSRP1 and WSRP2 .
  When i try to consume this portlet, i'm getting following error on the Jdevelper Console

  The problem is connected to your first and last name associated with your AppleID, not the forum as such. In the 'email' section at the linked page you can change those.

  I'm in the process of integrating the Webcenter Discussion service in an ADF Application.
  I have completed the following steps.
  1. Installed JDeveloper 11g and Webcenter 11g.
  2. Configured the Discussion server which was installed along with Webcenter 11g.
  3. Integrated Discussions with ADF Application by creating a Discussion connection.
  The ADF Application is running fine. But the forums are displaying empty. In the Discussion server, I'm unable to create new users and there are no options to create forums and to create threads.
  Help me in getting the below things,
  1. Where we can create forums?
  2. What settings we need to make for new forums and where to do those settings?
  3. Are there any settings to create new users as i have only one default user 'weblogic'? When i create new users from Discussion server, I'm getting the message as 'Create users not supported'.

  For you requirement ,you need to navigate the following url:

  If you use only ADF application,then you need to add all the forum corresponding libraries in your application otherwise need to consult with oracle support.

  Can anyone help on integrating Unifier with WebCenter Portal ? We are looking for a solution where we can show Unifier pages within WebCenter Portal application. Is this possible ?

  If you simply would have posted here first, there are plenty of people who would have informed you of the current policy to have a data plan active on an account during the entire contract if purchasing a discounted smartphone.
  Unfortunately, there are just as many on here who would claim the people informing you about this policy of being Verizon plants spreading disinformation and trying to make people afraid to upgrade via this route.
  Yes this is a new policy, one which has been pointed out multiple times in these forums.  Good luck, but I doubt you will have an outcome over this which will make you happy.
  Verizon is closing as many loopholes to keep unlimited data as they can.
