Re: IPHONE update error and malfunctions

I just was informed that there was an update for IPHONE when I connected to Itunes and after a few error messages, it seemed to finally successfully update. However after my Iphone restarted, it now shows a picture of a connector cable and the symbol for Itunes. It also only allows emergency calls. Does anyone know how to fix this?

This means connect it to iTunes. It is in DFU mode and needs to be restored.

If you already have an iPhone backup or an iCloud backup, just follow the instructions on the page below

If you didn't back up your iPhone, try to use WhatsApp Pocket to recover your chats:

• AIR auto update error, and question about POST parameters

Hello,
I'm getting a Download Failed error in the AIR autoupdating process;
There was an error downloading the update. Error# 16822
I recall this working once, the very first time that I tried it.
My app.xml file contains this line:
<version>12</version>
and my update.xml file contains:
<update xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/air/framework/update/description/1.0">
<version>12</version>

12 - Bug fixes and prepopulating defaults for player creation screen

</update>
Pasting the URL into a browser works.
However, this stuffresides on cloudfront. in the past i have noticed that if something tries to send post parameters along with the request, cloudfront will deny the request. Is it possible that the AIR app is sending POST parameters when hitting the download URL, and could this behavior be new in the last 6 months or so?
Any other ideas?
Thanks,
Gerry

You xml schema for update descriptor.xml in server should look similar to this

<update xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/air/framework/update/description/2.5">
<versionNumber>2.0</versionNumber>

</update>
Note xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/air/framework/update/description/2.5"
and versionNumber instead of version
Also make similar changes in appxml version field (in Burrito its by default versionNumber )

if u are using code to display veesion number make sure it should look like:
var appXML:XML = NativeApplication.nativeApplication.applicationDescriptor;
var ns:Namespace = appXML.namespace();
pnlMain.title=appXML.ns::name+" v "+appXML.ns::versionNumber
Thats it...!

• Every iPhone update fails and send phone into recovery mode

I'm getting extremely frustrated, and I know I'm not the only one after searching Google, that every time an update is released for the iPhone mine fails and goes into recovery mode then works the second time. It has happened on every release of iPhone software since owning a 3G and then the 3GS. My 2G never had the problem. Is there a cause and solution to the problem?

I thought mine was sorted on the second attempt this time but it wasn't. It took 6 attempts!
To get it working finally I done the following:
Restarted the computer
Made sure iTunes was updated to version 9
Located the 3.1 install file and delete it - Located in users/yourusername/library/itunes/iphonesoftwareupdates on the mac - not sure on a pc
Reopen iTunes and complete the restore and install. It had to redownload the update but worked this time round.

• Cloud Update: Error and auto unistall

Hi Team,
My PC wanted to do an update this morning for the cloud platform (Desktop). I said OK. It went through the update process and at the end it came up with an error. I didn't have time to chase this so I went cancel.
Cloud desktop has now looks to have disappeared and uninstalled its self!
Any thoughts

Hello. There is two way to solve this problem.
1) load adobe cleaner tool - (instructions and download links here http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html) - run it with clean all option and make new install of cloud and all soft in it after installation. And be patient - with 40 Mbit internet channel and near top PC with i7-3770K 32 gb ram and fast SLC SSD - installation just Photoshop CC took 2 or 3 hours.
2) if all software is working fine just forget about this piece of buggy code.
Two weeks ago I finally made first option. And yesterday got same problem again. And im tired of it. Really tired. may be someone could make special lock on gas tank for all Adobe developers cars - and if they want to fill it with fuel - thay must call to service that they send someone with key to gas station. Until they couldnt make correctly autoupdate for cloud tool.
And else one block in engine, that will limit their cars speed to 30 kmh until they found how use 32 gb of RAM for ACR needs.

• IPhone - Update app and updated screen shots get posted to iTune

A few weeks ago we submitted updates for our 8 apps on iTunes. When we submitted the apps we added updated screen shots to the version of the app that was in review. We just found out that all of our screen shots on iTunes were updated over a week ago for our existing apps, but our update has not been approved yet. We did not update the screen shots for the version of our app that is "Ready for Sale". Is this a bug in iTunes Connect? Is this something we should not have done? It looks like you can add new screen shots for your updated app since iTunes Connect makes a copy of your app for the update. Were we supposed to wait until after our app gets approved to update the screen shots?
Thanks,
Stephen

Unfortunately the only thing that is tiemd with your update is the separate update changes text.
All other text and images are updated within a day so anyone making big updates needs to either:
1. Update manually after they notice their update is now live. Downside is there will be some people who view the listing before your changes are made.
2. Post the update photos and include a large note that this is for the coming update that is still being approved. Users can buy the current version and get all the features of the new version for free when it's approved.
As you've noted people may be downloading your current app thinking they're getting the features now shown, which will be frustrating for them.

• HT4623 my iphone update fail, and restore error code 4005, please tell me what should I do?

update ios7 fail,reminder saying need to restore, but fail also, error code is 4005.

If you have a phone with no Facetime, it can't ever be added. As you note, it is outlawed in several mideast countries. If you bought it in one of those, it is not an option for you.

• Update error and i didnt back up data

i clicked "Download" for the iOS 8.3, everything goes great until it itunes banner says " Waiting for iPhone". THen i get a pop up saying "error (-1)" and they redirect me to the itunes page where it helps with the majority of the problems, but apparently not mine because if done everything that page says and it still ont update. Now that i try to turn on my phone, not plugged in, it tells me to plug it into itunes. Sadly, since my computer has low space as it is, i dont back up my phone so i dont want to restore it back into factory settings. Please help!

Your phone is in recovery mode and there is no option other than to restore. Any data still on your phone will be lost. If you have no backup to restore, SOL. Why aren't you using iCloud backups??

• Iphone Update Error

I'm trying to update my Iphone to 3.1.2 and am getting the following error

• IPhone update failed and is no longer seen by iTunes, what next?

I applied the latest update to my phone and it failed.
iTunes suggested that I restore the device.
The restore operation failed as well.
Now my iPhone is no longer detected iTunes.
It does not appear as a removeable drive or camera to Windows.
Online troubleshooting failed to help.
The only reaction that I observed is that Windows informes me that I had connected a high speed device to a slow (USB 1.0) port and suggested connecting it to another port.
Next I am going to take it to the AT&T store where I got it and see if they can help.

You may have already done this, but check out this kb..it discusses "recovery mode"
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
if that doesn't work, you can check out this article on dfu mode, that would be the next step.

BTW my experience with customer service at Apple Store has been outstanding. If you have one in your area you could try there

• IPod Nano 7th gen - software update error and now not functioning

Hello,
I recently plugged an older 7th gen iPod Nano that I hadn't used in a while into my computer (Windows 7 operating system) and iTunes wanted me to let it update its software. I said 'yes,' not really thining anything of it, and as the software update was taking place, an 'unexpected error' occurred. Now my iPod will not turn on or respond or anything. It shut off while plugged into the computer and has stayed off and I am unable to get it to turn back on. It is totally dead, like the failed update somehow ruined my iPod.
The iPod itself was a little damaged - the LCD touchscreen was nonfunctioning due to water damage, and only displayed a white screen when on, but I could still 'shake to shuffle' and it would play all of my music just fine. Now the iPod will not work at all.
Is there anything that can be done or am I just out of luck here? Did the fact that the iPod was damaged have something to do with the failed update?
I'm kind of bummed 'cause the iPod still played my music perfectly....
Thanks for any help or insights anybody can give.

I should add 2 important points: 1) I have no trouble syncing with my PC, just in updating the nano software, and (2) Buried in some Apple reference I found mention of problems if the nano isn't formatted for a PC vs. Mac. It gives info on how to tell what the format is, but it's outdated (the menu choices are different). I believe it is already formatted for a PC because of an entry under Settings/About which says the Version is "1.0 PC". Tell me if I'm wrong. Also, it would help me if I knew the destination of the software download. Does it download directly to the Nano or to a temporary folder on my PC?

• Trying to Remove iTunes software components because of 11.1.4 update error and using Windows 7 uninstall Apple Mobile Device Support does not work. Any suggestions?

Had error while updating Itunes to ver 11.1.4. I had 11.1.3.8 previously. Following instructions for Removing and Reinstalluing iTunes and other software components. Was able to uninstall iTunes and Apple Software Update, but attempts to do the same under Control Panel failed for Apple Mobile Device Support (ver 7.0.0.117). Directioons say to uninstall components in order given so I cannot continue until Apple Mobile Device Support is removed. Any suggestions?

Try reparing and then remove again if the repair is successful, otherwise move on to the next step. See Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for more information.
