RE: ipod touch is stuck ?

My ipod touch keeps crashing maybe once or twice a week at the moment. It freezes then I get the apple screen, which then distorts, then I get lines of code and after a random holding down of buttons it restarts but just hangs on the apple logo.
At the moment it is stuck on the logo and is not responding to anything even if I pludg it into desk top.
I bought this off ebay and when it arrived it was in perfect condition all original boxes and instructions and it worked fine. I think the problem was when I downloaded some apps off of itunes ?
Can anyone advise of a fix ? Would I be covered for warranty.

Try this: With the ipod touch connected to your computer, hold down both buttons, sleep and home. After a few second the apple logo will disappear, then as you continue to hold both buttons the apple will re-appear.
At that point let go of the sleep button on top but keep holding the home button on the face. After possibly a dozen seconds you should see an itunes logo with a picture of the 30 pin connector and cord.
Now the ipod touch should appear in the source list and a message that you are in recovery mode on the computer screen. Follow the instructions and click the restore button on your computer and be prepared for a long wait while it restores. Eventually you will have a choice to restore the data from your backup.
If you're within range of an Apple store let them do the above. It's a 600 mile round trip to my nearest Apple store so I learned the above from trial and error.
