Re: LAN not working on Equium A100-02K PSAAQE

I have an Equium A100 - 02K, Model PSAAQE - 00N00LAV, S/N 57015844Q running Vista Home Premium.
Recently the LAN connection via cable failed although the wireless connection to the internet still works. There is no light displayed on the LAN socket when connected and the router does not show a connection. Running task manager shows that there is a problem with the LAN driver. I have reloaded the driver but still task manager shows a driver problem.
Is this a hardware problem or are there further steps I can take such as checking in the BIOS?

Hi
I think its a only a software issue.
Please access the device manger and uninstall the LAN driver (you can mark the LAN card and could remove it too)
Then reboot the notebook!
By the way; what error code appears in device manger near the LAN card?

    Can anyone help me please?

    Hi,
it would be useful to know which system you have (vista or xp) and if you recently installed some software or windows updates.

  • Re: DVD drive not working on Equium A100

I have a problem with my drive it has power but wont read or write, no it is not error code 39
This happened when SP1 on Vista was installed it upset my chipset drivers.
So I have uninstalled SP1 and tried to update BIOS but I get an error code on winphlash new BIOS part number doesn't match system BIOS part number.
    error code 120
Cant find this error code anywhere?
    Anyone help?

    >but wont read or write
Sorry but this statement is too general for me. You didnt write which medias you have tested. Original DVD movies or music CDs. Maybe some self created stuff.
Please tell us more about this issue. As Silas already wrote it cannot be because of SP1.
Have you tried to remove SP1 and check functionality?
Friend of mine has Vista preinstalled Satellite A100-504 with SP1 and everything works well.
Which Equium A100 do you have exactly?
On download page there are listed three of them.
Have you used right BIOS version? Which one you want to use?
Please don't be mad on me but if you want to have some help please offer more information.
If I inform car service about my problem I cannot say: I have BMW and motor don't want to start.
They also want to know which model, which engine and so on. You know what I mean.

  • Equium A100-027 PSAAQ - having problems accessing Internet with WLan

Just installed WXP on my Equium A100-027 (PSAAQ) as Vista did not like. Now am having problems accessing Internet. What drivers do I need to download and how do I install them?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
I would suggest you to check the driver site of toshiba
    -> http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp
search for your machine and download the wlan drivers. If you dont know which one you need just download all of them and install em, one of that drivers MUST work. ;)

  • Equium A100-063 PSAAQE: WLan signal interrupts

    Hi
i'm italian so excuse me for my english.
The 23rd of March Ive bought the Notebook EQUIUM A100-063 PSAAQE.
Unfortunately I have found a problem that I can't resolve although numerous test I've tried.
After some minute the connection wireless to my Router DLINK DSL-G624T falls and I must repeat the procedure of connection to Internet although the radio signal is always excellent, but after some minutes the line falls again.
I approach without proplems with pocketpc and another notebook to the same router.
Currently I have configured WEP key but I have tried also with WAP key, and also without key, moreover I have tried various names of SSID and to set up the IP in static mode and also in dynamic mode.
I've verified that the version of the card Wireless driver is the last one.
Can you help me in some way, please?

Thanks for your answer. I've verified that the probable source of my problem is due to interference on the channel radio setting. When I've changed the channel from 6 to 11 the connection is remained stable for an hour until the problem has been repeated.
In the same time the problem has been repeat, another Access Point has been activated on the radio channel 11 like my router, therefore I've configured my router in channel 9 and I don't have more problems.

  • Ethernet driver for WXP is not working on Satellite A100

Satellite A100-784 PSAANE-02L011G3 ethernet driver for wxp is not working. Can not properly install driver, downloaded all possible drivers and still not working.
In device manager yellow sign. I have bought my laptop with Vista BASIC and I put XP-SP2. Country is Croatia! Help me please!

    Hi
I cannot believe that you are not able to install the LAN driver on this A100 Satellite!
However, the Sat A100-784 supports an Intel 82562GZ 10/100 Mbit (Ekron) Lan chip.
If you want you can download and install the Lan driver from the Intel page:
    http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Product_Filter.aspx?ProductID=999&lang=eng
There you will find the drivers for the Intel 8256x Ethernet Controllers

  • Recovery disc does not work for Satellite A100-197

I am working on a A100-197 that would not boot into ordinary Windows but was able to boot into Safe mode.
I used MSConfig to turn off everything at startup and all non-MS services. No good.
I used system restore. No good.
I scanned for viruses, rootkits etc. None found. No good.
I copied data to another hard drive using safe mode with networking and inserted the recovery DVD.
Went through unpacking and got message telling me to remove DVD - did this and system appeared to freeze.
Hit the exit button and it rebooted but Windows froze (the moving blobs stopped moving). Tried safe mode
but got a message saying that the system installation did not finish.
Tried the recovery again but this time I left the unpacking screen at 100% overnight to see if
it did anything. It didn't. Clicked exit and got the same as above.
Formatted HDD in partition magic and tried again. No good.
Created 5GB FAT32 partition and copied DVD files to FAT32 partition. Tried to run the unpacking program
from DOS. It refused to run in DOS mode.
I'm thinking of linking the hdd to another machine and running RecoUnpack.exe from a working PC to
unpack the image files onto the laptop HDD, but this is crazy - the recovery disc is supposed to recover the
system. What else can I try?

Thanks Dennis. I was starting to think similar things myself.
There was a program installed called Daemon Tools which uses
SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD) layer. My analysis suggested this was the rogue
program but I followed all the uninstall procedures and couldn't seem to solve the problem.
I don't suppose (and I've never had anything like this before) that it could have fouled up
something in the hardware layer? I tried resetting the BIOS to default settings. Maybe I should
flash the BIOS? Could it have altered any other ROM on the laptop? Is there other ROM on
    the laptop?
I hate software that ruins computers! Why can't people just use their b***** machines for sensible
    things?

  • 5.1 Soundblaster not working, now LAN not working eith

    Hi,
I'm new here, and would greatly appreciate any help anyone can give me. I've tried searching and looking through all the FAQ's I could find, but still am not able to find a solution.
I am running windows XP and I have a Soundblaster 5. card, and it's worked perfectly until last night. I had my headphones plugged in, and decided to plug in my Creative speakers instead. When I tried to plug the speakers in, soundcard appeared to be not working. I opened up my computer and took out the sound card and put it back in again, thinking I had maybe knocked it loose. I then went to check it under Windows device manager and it was listed as 'Multimedia Audio Controller" and said I had no drivers installed. I came here to the website, typed in the model number, got the correct drivers, but when I try to install the drivers, I get an error message saying that there is not a compatible device installed. I tried removing the card and putting it back in, also tried putting it into a different slot, but to no avail.
Now the biggest problem; after plugging my sound card in for the 4th time, my network connection stopped working. I'm connected to a LAN, and it keeps saying it's unable to renew my IP address. In device manager, it doesn't look like there's anything wrong with my network card.... could it be possible that I somehow fried the on-board network card when I was putting the sound card in?
I'm really at a loss as to what to do here. ANY suggestions at all would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thank you very much in advance.

  • Built-in microphone not working on Equium A300D

I have Toshiba Equium A300D 13X with vista 32-bit, I cant get the built in microphone to work.
All the speakers and the webcam seem to work and I have tried to update the drivers from this website but nothing fixes the mic problems.
    Can you help?

    Hi
Why are you sure that the internal microphone does not work?
    How did you test this?
The internal microphone belongs to the internal webcam.
You can increase the mic volume in webcam software settings.
Start webcam software -> settings -> audio tab
There you should increase the mic volume to max.
The option Audio Device should contain something like Microphone (Conexant High definition). Audio Compressor -> No compress

    Hi
Could you please be more specifically???
Did you get any error messages or something else???
Maybe something goes wrong during the installation procedure
Therefore I would recommend removing this Nokia program and try to install it again.
Additionally I would recommend checking the PC Suite FAQ on the website

  • Internal Speakers not working on Equium A110-276

    Hi
I bought this Equium A110-276 a few months ago. I understand that connecting external speakers disables the internal speakers automatically. I have been using external speakers for quite some time, but now when I disconnect them the internal speakers are not working anymore.
Any ideas what I should do to get my internal speakers working again?
    Many thanks.

    Hi,
usually the socket where you connect your external speakers uses a sprung metal contact to disconnect the built in speakers when the plug is pushed in. Removal of the plug from the external speakers should then allow the sprung contact to return to its normal position which will return power to the built in speakers.
It is possible that the plug from the external speakers has bent the sprung contact so that it no longer completes the circuit for the built in speakers. You will need to dismantle you nnotebook to get access to the socket to check.
You could ask your local authorised service partner to check for you so that you don't invalidate your warranty.
    regards,

  • LAN not working since installing Windows XP on Satellite P100-160

    Hi,
I purchased a P100-160 (PSPAAE - 01D00UEN) with Vista pre-installed. Couldn't stand Vista so I have just installed Windows XP.
However, I cannot get my LAN to work properly. That is, I can get it to work with the 'Cardbus Ethernet Card' plugged in, but i cannot get it to work via the RJ-45 slot!
Does anyone have any idea what I can do/how I can rectify this.
    Many thanks
    Yvonne

    Hi
    Thanks for your reply.
As far as I am aware I have downloaded all the drivers. I have checked both of the sites that you indicated, I have downloaded the drivers but there does not seem to be a 'setup' icon/file within the extrated files. There are 'unistaller' files but not a setup one - anyone have any ideas????
Do you suggest that I install all the drivers from scatch and see what happens? Any other suggetions would be very much appreciated.
    Best regards
    Yvonne

  • FN keys not working on Satellite A100

I posted a question back in febuary with little success in a solution.
The fn keys on my laptop are not working, the only time the work is while the computer is booting up.
Once my display screen comes up they mysteriously stop working. I have been told to download all kinds of things from this website which i have but everytime i go to install them they won't let me.
If some one actually has a thought out response to this question please post.
I need to know what i need to download and how to install it.
Pretty simple, please respond with those answers.
    thank you

In Windows Vista there is a difference between accounts with "computer administrator" privileges and the Administrator account.
In the Administrator account the User Account Control is disabled. Also by default, the Administrator account is present, but hidden and disabled.
You can enable it using 2 difference methods:
    _Method 1_
Start by booting your computer to Vista in your computer administrator account Next open administrative tools in the control panel. Double click the computer management item, this will open it. You then authorize user accounts control by clicking the continue button. Double click on "local users and groups", this will open it.
    - Click the user's folder.
    - Select the administrator icon.
    - Right click it to open its content menu.
    - Choose properties.
    - Remove the check mark from the "account is disabled" box.
    - Click OK.
    - Restart your computer.
Once your computer has restarted, open the administrative tools control panel.
In the Users area, disable any other enabled accounts with computer administrator privileges.
Look for account icons that do not have the red disable mark.
Click to place a check mark on these account icons.
    Next you open Properties.
Click to add a check mark in the box labeled "Account Is Disabled."
Check to see that your Administrator account is enabled.
You can now close Computer Management and restart Windows.
When vista reboots the administrator account will be loaded automatically.
Be advised that this method is for temporary use only, for security reasons. You should never leave your Administrator account enabled without a password.
    _Method 2_
Turn on your computer. As Windows is starting up, when you see the "Starting Windows" come on your screen, quickly press F8. In a dual-boot environment, this can be done easily from the boot menu.
When the boot menu is showing:
Using the arrow or tab keys, you will select "Microsoft Windows" (this is the option that runs Windows Vista). Do not press Enter, instead you press the F8 key, and you will progress to the Safe Mode boot screen.
At the Safe Mode boot screen, you will select the first option, "Safe Mode".
Press Enter. It will take a few moments but Vista will present to you a login screen that has two options, Administrator and Other User.
Click on the Administrator icon. Your Windows Vista Administrator account has now been enabled.
Then you could try to log as admin and could remove the VAP ;)

  • Wake on Lan not working properly?

So as far as i'm aware Windows 8 supports wake on lan whilst the device is either in sleep or hibernate (not completely off) and so far it works fine when in sleep mode (no randomly turning on like lots of people have been saying) but nothing happens when in hibernate. Is there any particular reason why this may be?
    Lenovo G780
    Windows 8.1
Using unified remote (full) to control power options (tried in both administrative and not)
Qualcomm Atheros AR8162/8166/8168 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.30). Set to recieve packets
and i think i've made all of the nessasary changes to BIOs and my router (Belkin) to allow WoL (seeing as it works when sleeping)

    Hallo Forumreaders,
WOL (Wake On Lan) works only through a router when it is capable to forward to broadcast LAN-IP-adres.
In my consideration only the good old BEFSR41 is capable to forward to the broadcast adres for example 192.168.1.255 (SM: 255.255.255.0)
Because there is no IP-adres in powerless PC's the "Magic Packet" (which WOL realy is) MUST be send onto your LAN by means of the broadcast-adres.
Other routers are  NOT able to sumit a adres like 192.168.1.255 in a subnet of 255.255.255.0 because they are NOT allowed to use any broadcast-adres.(they can get trouble by means of a broadcaststorm!!!)
So do not get rid of that old router you have!!
    More info;
The "Magic Packet" contains the MAC-adres of your recipient host and wil trigger the powersupply of that PC.
For Internet WOL, try http://www.dslreports.com/wakeup, submit your IP-adres of your home, your MAC-adres of your PC and klick on "Wake up".
Looking for an application for on a USB-stick, download the small tool; http://www.depicus.com/wake-on-lan/wake-on-lan-gui.aspx
    Hope I helped,
    Greetings

  • Ethernet LAN not working after upgrading to windows 8.1

After upgrading from Windows 8 to 8.1, my Ethernet LAN is no longer working. Wireless LAN connectivity is OK. I have run the HP Support Assistant and downloaded the drivers for 8.1. Hovever, I do not see a 8.1 driver listed for the Ethernet LAN.

You're very welcome. See if the recovery manager still works so you can roll back to W8. Please read this guide for how to use it. http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03489643 If it doesn't then you will have to order a set of recovery disks from HP, or you can install this plain W8 OEM software this guy has posted on a link. Lots of folks have used it successfully, which is why I posted it. https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B0W9PBigPy94aVJWSndyTFNFMzg/edit?pli=1 Then use this tool to make the iso file bootable to a DVD or 4+ GB USB flash drive. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/windows-usb-dvd-download-tool Yes, that really stinks why you and I could not upgrade without an issue. I disabled about 5 or 6 devices in the device manager and the code 12 would not go away. I have no clue why the PC works fine on W8 but not on W8.1. My notebook is a few years older than yours and it worked fine on W8.1 but not on W10. Go figure...
