Re: LCD TV 40BV701B No remote to press OK

I have a LCD TV 40BV701B and I have lost the remote to it. i did a first time installation and i need to press OK. I do not know how to press OK without a remote to do it

Hi
I completely agree with keith.
The remote control is an essential part in order to use the TV effectively.
There are different places where you could purchase such part For example amazon provides compatible parts even if they look different

    I have typically seen this kind of behavior when the user has a stuck
    key on
    the keyboard, in this instance, it looks like the user has a stuck
    Windows
    key. Have them unplug the keyboard and then re-establish your session.

    Actually, it's doing it on all machines, we are on ZFD 3.2 sp1. We
    also
    have a mix of Win9x/NT/2000. Originally, the keyboard function did
    not
    work at all until we upgraded to ZFD sp1. Now it works, but, it seems
    like the windows system key is "stuck" in the keyboard buffer or
    something. So if you have notepad or wordpad open and you type "e" an
    explorer window pops up rather than the "e" actually getting typed. Strange huh? we tried to enable/disable the system key pass through to
    no
    avail.

  • Cisco LCD-110Q-PRO-55 Remote Code

    I have the above monitor in a commercial environment and in a recent move we lost remote and manual. I have searched as much as I can via Cisco website and the net to find a manual to download or a remote control model but no luck. Cisco seems to have the later model TV manuals available online but not this model.
    Via the original box we still have it was manufatured by Tech-Giant and then distributed by Quanta Displays Inc, neither of those companies have responded to me and probably dont care. I purchased a generic remote to tried the scan codes but no luck in finding codes to operate TV.
    Would appreciate anyone helping to find a manual and codes to enter on remote or where to find a remote.
    Cheers

    JD, the LCD-110Q-PRO55 is a Cisco monitor so if I wanted to contact the manufacturer of the display I would have to do it through TAC since they are the support arm of the manufacturer.
    I know all about other manufacturers and the fact that some use ascii and some use hex.  I can successfully control Samsung, Panasonic, Clarity, NEC and more.  Most of these companies make it easy to get the codes right from the website but Cisco is either refusing to or simply doesn't know any better.
    BTW, If I could have found the codes via google, I wouldn't have posted here.

  • Remote control pressing lower case 'e' launches explorer

    Two windows 9x machines, remote control works but when typing lower
    case
    keys that map to windows system functions, those functions launch.

    showing an 'e' in notepad. Lower case 'r' launches the run command.
    Lower case 'f' launches find files.

  • LCD TV Model 32SL415U - remote dead?

    I have a 32ls415u that I purchased about 90 days ago.  As of last night, the remote seems to only control the volume on the tv, but nothing else. I tried changing batteries and that had no affect.  Is it possible i hit a button that changed the mode?  If so, any idea what button that might've been?

    I also had the same problem with my Toshiba model 32SL415U.  My remote went completely dead after 11 months.  We contacted Toshiba, and since it was still under warranty, they sent us a new remote.  We received the new remote in December 2012.  As of last night, 3/25/13, the new remote is dead, again!  We contacted Toshiba today, and they refused to send us another remote.  So I have a TV that is 1 year, 4 months old, and I am unable to use any features on it that cannot be controlled with a cable box remote.
    Needless to say, this will be the last Toshiba product that I will ever own!  I have had many TV's over the years, and never had a remote die on me - and this TV has gone through 2 so far in less than a year and a half!  If anyone else has experienced this and has any advice, please let me know.  Or if anyone has this TV and has purchased a cheap universal remote that will control all the features (particularly accessing Nexflix), please let me know.  Thanks!

  • Remote Control, Pressing every button 50 times

    Hello,
    Verizon came a few weeks ago to set up my FIOS TV.  The remote is programmed, and the controls for the TV work fine (volume, power, etc).
    But when I try to bring up the guide, change channels, enter in numbers, it rarely works.  I'll have to literally click the guide button about 50 times for it to pop up.  Once the guide finally comes up, it takes another 50 times hitting the Channel Down button to go down one page.
    Help please!

    I would recommend a quick experiment to determine if it is IR interference, a topic covered a lot in these forums - search IR interference. If your STB is near the TV, IR interference can disrupt the remote signals, especially after first activating the TV when electricity flow is higher to get things up to speed or brightness. Take a big piece of cardboard and cover the STB, creating a hood or visor that extends over the front edge a few inches and try the remote. If the cardboard shields the STB, the remote should work better. If it turns out that IR is the culprit, a permanent solution needs to be nonflammable, of course, but at least you have identified the problem. Good luck.

  • Can LCD TV 32HL833B not achieve native resolution (1920x1080) from a PC ?

    Hi,
    I've bought this LCD TV for use mainly as a PC Monitor.  It's currently at 1280x1024 but the text is too big & blurry and I've read that it would be much better in its native resolution of 1920 x 1080.
    The PC is running Windows XP with standard "Plug and Play Monitor on INtel Q965/Q963 Express Chipset Family." which only has a VGA output.  I didn't have this resolution at first so I downloaded a driver [1] update 6.14.10.5016.
    I now have 1920x1080 as an option on the Windows "Display Properties"/Settings but when I apply it, the TV overscans [2] with a huge area to the right hand side of the screen.  The screen adjusts as I scroll right but I often miss pop ups from the Windows tray.
    I tried to run PowerStrip [3] but the resolution keeps reverting to 1280x1024 (where no overscan occurs).  And secondly the TV refused to power off and, although after a hard reset it is OK, I'm concerned about damaging it.
    I'm willing to purchase a graphics card with a HDMI output but on reading page 18 of the HL833B spec [4] section "Acceptable PC signals through HDMI terminals" am now concerned that the maximum resolution I can get is only 1280x1024 (which is what I have now via VGA).  There's another table where the maximum resolution from "Video HDMI" is the native resolution 1920x1080 (as expected).
    Can anyone advise
    1. Why is the max resolution of a PC signal through HDMI only 1280x1024 ?
    2. Would buying a graphics card help to achieve 1920x1080 ?
    Thanks !

    Yes it can achieve native resolution !  I was about to give up when I found this;
    http://www.hdtvreview.com/Toshiba-32HL833B-hdtv.html says that HL833B includes Extact Scan Mode
    See page 34 for instructions
    On remote control, press Quick, change picture size from "Normal" to "Native"
    Simple as that.  Now I'm happy

  • LG 32LH40 32" 120hz LCD connecting to PC issues

    Just purchased a LG 32LH40 lcd tv from Best Buy and the picture is great EXCEPT one issue:
    I would like to use the TV occasionally as a monitor.  Dead set on using DVI2HDMI and the tv is not picking up the signal.  When I connect the pc and tv with the cable my pc finds the tv as a Generic PnP Display.  My PC has an Nvidia 8800GTX which can handle all HD formats.  After the connection is made, I open Nvidia Control Center and the tv is displayed as LG TV, but no matter what settings no luck.  The TV simply displays the message 'No Signal'.
    There are only two reasons I can think of that this isnt' working.  First, the DVI2HDMI cables I have are not v1.3.  This is most likely not the problem.  Secondly, there is an issue with the tv supporting 120hz.
    Going to buy a new v1.3 DVI2HDMI cable, which probably won't work.  Please, if anyone has been successful with any Nvidia card to this tv let me know what you did to get it working!
    Thanks a ton!

    If your TV says "no signal" usually that means you're on the wrong input.  You can change the TV's input with the TV remote.  Press the input or source button.  This should bring up a source menu, or toggle to the next input automatically.  The PC input is usually the last one listed.  Scroll down to it until it's highlighted, and press select/ok/enter (in the middle of the directional arrows).  If everything is connected properly, this should work.  If not, it's either not installed correctly, or one of the HDMI ports on the back of your TV isn't working.  I hope this helps!
    Nothing I post is an official statment of Best Buy or Geek Squad, it is only a helpful opinion!

  • Remote not working for Fios STB

    Remote works for TV, but not for the STB in living room.
    I have the same model in a bedroom, and both remote work the STB in the bedroom, but not the STB in the living room
    Any ideas? .

    If the box is not responding to the remote, please unplug power cord to the box and plug it back in. Also make sure the STB button on the remote is pressed before trying to use it to control the set top box. If this does not solve your problem, please send me a private message.

  • Remote Not Working Properly

    Hi All,
    Sorry if this has already been asked/answered. I had a look round but couldn't find anything like this.
    I'm a relatively new Vision customer. I have the black box and the back remote. My TV is really old so it doesn't have any powersaving features and this problem is happening now, at 10:30am so it's not because of energy saving lights.
    My remote control is barely working. Usually I press a button and the Vision button flashes blue on the remote.
    Today I got nothing (it worked last night). Pressing the buttons does nothing for the TV and the Vision button doesn't flash any more. I've changed the batteries and no luck. I've reset the remote by pressing *, # and Power for five seconds and nothing happened. I've tried pressing Mode.
    Oddly, the blue LED on the front of my Vision Box responds to the following button presses:
    BLUE
    GREEN
    6
    4
    and
    Shortcuts
    The box whill respond to these, for example I'm now begrudginly listening to Fearne Cotton because Radio 1 is channel 444.
    When these buttons work the BT Vision button on the remote still doesn't flash blue.
    This is the second remote I've had fail on me now and I've only been with BT for two months.
    Is there something (however unlikely) that might be happening locally to deprogram these remotes in my house or are the just rubbish? Or am I just unlucky?
    I don't want to be without a remote control for three to five days every month.
    If anyone can help before I call the helpdesk and send this remote back I would be incredibly grateful.
    Many thanks.
    Matt

    Hello,i think its just that the bt remotes are a bit naff.I have had the same problem a few times mind you i have sausages for fingers.If you are a new customer i'm sure that the remote will be covered under the warranty, give bt a call and they will replace it again.

  • Remote app and apple tv

    Is it possible to put the apple tv to sleep with the remote app? With the small apple remote
    you press and hold the play/pause button. But I can't seem to find out if remote app will do it.
    And also, how do you get to the main menu in apple tv with the remote app. Like youtube, etc.

    It seems you have the option to connect the way Scott H described (ie accessing your media library in iTunes) -OR- you can have the iPhone directly access the AppleTV's library. I've done it both ways on mine. The first way means you're streaming wirelessly from your computer, while the second means you're pulling things directly off the AppleTV's hard drive. You can switch back and forth between these methods by going into the Remote program's settings into the "Choose a Library section..." as long as you've set up both your computer and ATV to see the Remote.
    Regardless, neither of these methods will accomplish what you want. You can play movies and podcasts on your ATV with the remote, but you can't rent movies, go to YouTube, etc. Hopefully v1.1 will add these things.

  • LV 8.6: programatically pressing button only works in some VIs, not all?

    Setup is an old labview 8.6
    I'm tasked with fixing some strange old engine test bench which has a ~1E-6 measurement drift.
    The "easiest" work around fix would be to run the mechanics to a bottom end point then press the "reset" measurement button automatically.
    !!:  A "drive" vi and a "measurement" vi has to be running at the same time. The drive vi will then periodically drive the test bench to a mechanical end point and reset the measurement vi. This would get rid of the drift.
    !!:  Both vi's must be started manually and running. I cannot start one vi from the other. It messes things up. I know not why. There seems to be some strange dependency over compiled FPGA code somewhere.
    I'm no lab view wizard. It was 20 years since I touched it last.
    So digging through examples on how to press a button in one VI from another VI I found this:
    https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-15962
    Which I built into a sub-vi and a test setup to see if I could make it work on the test bench. With some tweaking it works.
    A test "master" vi can press any button in a test "slave" vi.
    However. It is impossible to press the "reset" button in the "measurement" vi.
    Labview reports no errors, it just doesn't execute the value change event as far as I can understand.
    In fact, I can copy exactly the same code from the working "slave" vi into the "measurement" vi and it stops working. !!??
    How can code work perfectly well in one vi but not in another ?
    The "measurement" vi has some sort of compilation requirements, meaning any change to the vi takes >30min to "compile" before it can be run. Can this have something to do with why remote button pressing doesn't work?
    It also interfaces with some FPGA somewhere, can that have something to do with it ?
    I have no clue. Happy for any help here.

    Here it comes -- WARNING -- ugly code, this is my first labview in 20 years and I'm very short on time.
    press-button.vi
      the sub vi I mangle up from the example (https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-15962)
    master.vi
      the test event sender
    slave.vi
      the test event receiver
    measurement.vi
      the real vi, where no buttons can be pressed
    In master.vi you can reconfigure the input to press-button to which vi and button to target. Right now it is set for the test slave vi (I think) to verify that it actually works as intended in the test environment.
    Hmm, seems there is a limit to 3 attachments, will post the measurement.vi in next post

  • Need Sceptre TV Remote Control code(s) that work with VZ P265v3RC -- the '335' code does NOT

    Recently upgraded my TV's in my house with new Sceptre 40" and 50" TV's - thank you WalMart. Purchased in September 2014. (new / current Sceptre TVs).
    All of the Verizon printed, online, and other documentation for the P265V3 RC (model RC2655005/01B) for Sceptre shows to use code '335'.   I have tried the '335' code on both of the TV's and no worky at all.
    Following the 'Quick Setup Guide-Verizon FIOS remote' steps (paper/PDF instructions with RC Manual):
    I can successfully enter the '335' code as outlned in step 4... and 'The RED LED will blink twice and then stay on'. occurs.  So far, so good.
    Step 5 states, "5. Press and release the <CH +> button repeatedly until the TV turns off......."   This happens perfectly... I can press the <CH+>> button a few times, and indeed, my TV turns off.
    Now, onto Step 6: "Test that the remote control is programmed for your TV".....  can't get Mute, A/V, other keys to activate /. be recognized - even though I'm followijng "press and hold that key. Release it as soon as it works"
    Does anyone have a working code for Sceptre TV's ??? The Verizon '335' code doesn't work for me.
     I need the 'best code' anyone has found that works with new Sceptre TV's.... the 335 code that VZ recommends... no worky.

    Robertop,
    have you tried the following? The info below  is found here
    Turn on your TV and the FiOS TV Set-Top Box.
    Make sure you can see live TV.
    Press and hold the OK and FiOS TV buttons together then release both buttons.
    The red LED light blinks 2 times and then stays on.
    Press and hold the Play button.
    The remote control tries a new TV code every second.
    The red LED light blinks each time a new code is sent.
    When the TV turns off, release the Play button immediately.
    NOTE: Some TVs may respond slower than others. If necessary, you can press the Ch+ and Ch- buttons to go forward or backward one TV code at a time.
    Test your remote to ensure it is working properly:
    - Turn on the TV by pressing the TV button on your FiOS TV remote.
    - Press the Vol+ and Vol- buttons to ensure that you can control the volume.
    - Press the Mute and A/V buttons to ensure they work.
    If any of these buttons do not work, press and hold that button. Release the button as soon as it works.
    If all the buttons work, press OK to this TV remote code.
    The red LED light blinks 3 times and then turns off. Your remote control is now programmed.

  • How to capture remote control events

    Hello, I am now writing some simple xlets to test UI .
    I can successfully receive arrow key and enter using KeyEvent,but failed at color key and other
    keys in remote control. I have read some articles and got quite confused about the event model
    of MHP,it seems complex to beginners.
    I tried to receive color key event by this way:
    a: main class (HComponent) implements xlet and UserEventListener;
    b: define one userEventRepostiroy colorKey and add all colored key to it.
    c: EventManager.getInstance().addUserEventListener(this,colorKey);
    d:implement the userEventReceived method
    I tried the color keys in remote control of my emulator ,but not captured, Can you tell me why? Thanks!!!!

    Hi,
    I am trying to program a normal JFrame application which can capture remote control inputs. (I know very little about Xlets. I just need a listener for an application).
    Many of the buttons are captured by a normal KeyListener but some aren't (player controls like play/pause and red/green/yellow/blue colour buttons). Also, most of the ones that are captured just have keyCode() = 0 and keyChar() = '' so I can't determine which button was actually pressed.
    Is there any way I can implement the UserEventListener example above without using an Xlet? Alternatively, is there any way I can manipulate KeyListener to get ALL button presses from the remote control? Any other ideas?
    Thanks,
    Brian
    PS - here is my attempt: (Am I missing the point altogether? Not sure if a UserEventListener can be added to a component like other listeners)
    package remotecontrol;
    import javax.swing.JFrame;
    import org.dvb.event.*;
    public class frame extends JFrame implements UserEventListener
        public frame()
            UserEventRepository rep = new UserEventRepository("whatever");
            rep.addAllArrowKeys();
            rep.addAllNumericKeys();
            rep.addAllColourKeys();
            EventManager.getInstance().addUserEventListener(this, rep);
            setSize(200,100);
            setDefaultCloseOperation(WindowConstants.EXIT_ON_CLOSE);
            show();
        public static void main(String[] args)
            frame app = new frame();
        public void userEventReceived(UserEvent userEvent)
            System.out.println("Remote button press captured: " + userEvent.getCode());
    }
