I bought my tablet 3 weeks ago. I tested a jellybean unit in the store extensively and I was pleased with the performance. I bought one. When I got home and connected it to our wi-fi, I was asked if I wanted to update the firmware. I agreed then my unit was updated to kitkat. The touch UI freezes for 3 seconds every 1-2 minutes. Now it is hard to use it for typing because I skip entire words because of the freeze. At first I blamed slow CpU so I installed a cpu monitor to see what is happening in the background but cpu load during those hang times were low. Then I blamed RAM so I watched ram but the freezes still happened with 40% free RAM.

I updated to version 7.0.2 this morning on a Mac. When I tried
to run Indesign I got a message saying that my trial period was over, likewise for Illustrator but not Photo
shop funnily enough. All this is nonsense as I have a fully paid-for and registered copy of CS5. I found that by

the default ones, which is inconvenient. I do wish Adobe would be more carefule before inflicting these "improvements
" on us and making things worse.Thank you for that. However, how does one back up the preferences? I'm sorry to sound like a novice but I have looked at where the preferences are set and there's nowhere that mentions backing them up. Of course there is no instruction manual and the help only points to where things can be found on menus. I have bought the "Brilliant" book on Indesign CS5 but that doesn't mention backing up preferences.
The problem I had with my "trial period" running out was definitely due to the update. That is why Photoshop was continuing to work - this morning's updates were only for Illustrator and Indesign. I should also have mentioned that when I went along with it and re-entered my serial number it said that it was invalid. That brought back nightmares of when I first bought CS5 - it took three days before I was able to get a serial number that worked. Adobe said it was because I had already installed a trial version but that was not true. I had to spend hours trawling through forums before Adobe could give me a number that actually worked.
What is so hard about initialising a piece of software? -
HT1414 Latest Update Problem with my 4s
I did not back up my phone before the update. Now my phone is stuck on the plug to itunes screen which wants me to restore. Is there anyway to go back and backup before I restore?
First remove the battery for 5 minutes, reconnect the battery, connect it to your pc and run the updater again. Leave it for a few minutes and it should go into recovery mode.
If not disconnect it and try a hard reset.
Hard reset:
1. Switch off the phone.
2. Hold down the following three buttons: Green (the call answer button), * button, and '3' button.
3. While holding these buttons, press the power button and switch on the phone.
4. Release when the phone shows the nokia logo or shows other signs of life like the language selection screen.
If that fails to fix it try the advice offered in this post by drummer27:

If that still fails then the last option is to take the phone to a nokia care point.

Firefox is crashing every time I have my MSN email account up. (Since I use it for business, that's many times per day.) It seems to coincide with hotmail's latest update where the email is checked and downloaded to the inbox automatically. Then when it asks me if I want to send the crash report to Firefox, I select yes and it tells me it had trouble sending the report. Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a setting I can change? I can't seem to keep my email account up for more than 10 minutes.
p.s if you're reading this Microsoft, it's still not bad enough to make me to go back to Internet Explorer!Hi,

Create a NEW account/ID for her using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before.
Creating an iTunes Store, App Store, iBookstore, and Mac App Store account without a credit card
Use the new ID on her iPod but only for:
Settings>Messages>Send and Receive
Settings>FaceTime
and Settings>iCloud if you want her to have separate Contacts Calendar and some other things.
Continue to use the same/common Apple ID for Settings>iTunes and App stores so you can share purchases. -

The latest update to itunes has resulted in a whole series of runtime errors (R6034). Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library states it is being accessed incorrectly. I am also told that Apple Mobile Device Failed to Start. Additional messages suggest the error is in itunes.exe and ituneshelper.exe. I also get Error 7 (Windows error 1114). Anyone got any ideas how to overcome this (these) problems?
Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

Latest update causes problems on iPhone 3
The most recent update for iPhone causes serious problems on my iPhone 3. The screen size is no longer accurate; top or bottom text dissapears. Some apps are no longer useable. The speed of the iPhone dropped down to ridiculous slowness. Has anyone else experienced similar issues, and more importantly, has anyone found a solution? We just got a new Macbook Pro, the iPhone is not connecting, so we cannot remove the latest update. Kind of catch 22...

I am using Firefox 3.6.8. Oddly, my problem appeared a few hours PRIOR to Firefox automatically installing the latest updates (the week ending 7/23), not afterwards. The problem is this: the browser continues to display tabs, the reload/home/history/favorites icons, URL field and Google search field while in full-screen mode, so it's not really full-screen anymore. How can I correct this?

Are you sure it was error 0604 since I never heard of that error, it does not appear in the list of errors in the following and a search of Apple's support site gets no hits. However, error 1604 is list and users have reported that error number. If 1604 is the error number the following tell yu wnat to do when you click on that error number:

my lenovo H430 is about 6 months old - worked okay with preinstalled Windows 8
After update to Windows 8.1 computer no longer seemed to work well at all, although I am unable to provide hard evidence, but clearly it was not working as smoothly as in the previous 8 version with lots of irritating little problems - including sound.
One thing that very clearly was not functioning as it had in 8 version was the USB disconnect icon. In 8 you only had to click on icon and the USB selection window would open immediately. Additionally all USB connections would be shown - back and front USB. Select the USB to be disconnected and it would be disconnected immediately (providing not in use). After update to 8.1 this was no longer the case.
In 8.1 disconnect icon no longer worked as it had done in 8. After clicking on icon there was now always a lengthy pause, followed by the sound of the computer working (whirring sound) and then after a while the USB selection window would finally open. Sometimes it was necessary to click on icon a few times to get any reaction at all. A small MP3 player I had charged up on my computer every morning (front USB) in windows 8, was always in USB list, and disconnected without problem in 8. In 8.1 it was no longer in list and only charged sporadically (would stop charging, but if I clicked on USB icon it would start charging again - although still not shown in USB list).
After about two weeks of 8.1 my screen suddenly - but only briefly - went black twice. I ran a sfc /scannow. problems were found but could not be resolved. I did a Dism /Online/Clean-Image/RestoreHealth this was reported as being successful. About two days later my computer went into blue screen BSOD - "critical-services-failure" - from which I was unable to get out of. The only option open was the Lenovo restore option. Computer was returned to factory state with los of all data.
back to Windows 8 the computer once again worked okay - no problems - and USB icon once again worked correctly (including with MP3 player).
About 2 weeks later after receiving MS messages to update to 8.1 I called Lenovo support and asked about update to drivers for 8.1.

I updated to 8.1 and then updated all the above drivers (no USB driver update was available).
The same problems as the last update to 8.1 and USB was as bad as it was in last 8.1
Some days later my computer went into blue screen BSOD once again - although this time did not stay stuck there, and quickly restarted - due to speed of restart I did not get time to read all the text and discover the cause of BSOD.
Computer is still running badly - particularly the USB icon disconnect.
Called Lenovo support but they have been no help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Despite the AMD driver giving an error during install at the last stage of the suggested fix, this has now yielded a working switchable graphics for my S540 for the first time with Windows 8.1. Catalyst Control Center also works for the first time, so thank you to both the above-mentioned posters for a solution that does work.
Hopefully in time AMD will release a non-broken updated AMD driver and CCC package.

I am trying to access my Template on Proxibid's Auctioneer website and the Firefox screen goes away, showing me my wallpaper, then it comes back and says Firefox is not responding, then it suddenly displays a full screen of HTML. I spoke with Proxibid - they suggest I undo the latest update, as this problem began after that update. I need to know how to do that.

In a word, yes. In a little more detail.... When you restore from an iCloud backup, you must erase the device and start all over again. There is no other way to access the backup in iCloud without erasing the device. Consequently, you are starting all over again. Therefore, it would also be my assumption that Pages and Numbers will work again and that the deleting apps issues would be fixed as well.
If the documents are not in the backup, and you do not have a backup elsewhere, the documents could be gone forever.
