RE-LINKING HELP

Hi,
Basically i created a file in Illustrator which contained 60 layers, then imported them into AE under 'composition - retain layer sizes' so i could use each individual layer, now ive moved the original Illustrator file and now each layer is marked as 'missing' and i cant seem to figure out how to re-link them as they are layers in a composition not individual files/footage.
Help is very much appreciated

File --> Replace footage. Replace one layer and AE should give a message that it has found the rest - assuming you did not change anything inside the AI file.

Adobe PDF Link Helper Problem

Hello,
I am looking for some help because I am out of options. When I open up a pdf through IE, and use the add-on toolbar, none of the buttons can be used. They are all "frozen" except for the zoom function. This is the case for multiple or any documents. I have tried uninstalling IE9 and reverting back to IE8 but no luck. None of the IE are 64 bit, they are all 32 bit. Any help in this matter is greatly appreciated.
Here is a bit of background:
OS: Windows 7 (some PC's are 32 bit and others are 64 bit)
Adobe X 10.1.3
IE9 and IE8 both 32 bit.
Add ons are enabled for Adobe.

The root issue I am trying to solve is getting the SharePoint 2010 Acrobat X integration to work, The original symptom was that a user would check out a pdf file from a SharePoint library, edit it (using the comment feature in Reader) and then Save or Check In. Either action would result in a Cannot Access the Network error. Looking at the HTML traffic in Fiddler showed the error text had nothing to do with the problem, which seemed to be about attribute values. Anyway, I put this on the back burner for a couple months and returned to it recently. It now works on my machine in a 32 bit browser. (ACCEPTABLE RESTRICTION). My coworker still gets the original error. I poked around and found the SharePoint Open Documents add-on on my machine and not hers and suspect it has something to do with the difference in behavior. So I am trying to find out what it is supposed to do and if it really is relevant, how to cause it to be downloaded on other people’s machines. I have been through the server configuration steps listed in Chapter 13 of the Acrobat Admin Guide.

Adobe PDF Link Helper add on IE 8

Hello, we have a client who is having issues with their IE 8 browser - it freezes, crashes and seems to leave behind extract iexplore processes that don't close properly - searching online, I discovered that the add on "Adobe PDF Link Helper" can sometimes cause these type of issues with IE 8 - the client has this add on enabled - can anyone confirm this? Is there any information on this?

Most of what I've read on this points to other addons as well (Google or Ask toolbar, for instance)... and also shows that it is most prevalent in Vista, which has more bugs than a swamp. I read a few places where a Reset of IE fixed it, others where disabling the addon did the trick. Disabling the link helper can have some adverse consequences, though... primarily being the loss of the ability to open ANY PDFs in the browser.

Apparently if I disable it PDFs embedded in a page with the <embed> tag fail to function properly.
However, I can't find anywhere accurate documentation on what this add-on below does.

IE9 seems to work flawlessly without it. PDF's still open within the browser with it disabled. Only if I uncheck Display PDF in Browser in Readers preferences does that cease.
So, can someone (hopefully Adobe) entlighten me on what this add-on does, and why I shouldn't just have all employees have this disabled by default?

Missing pdf link helper with IE8x64

I'm using IE8x64 with Adobe Reader installed, I noticed that in the IE8 x64 addons there is no plugin pdf link helper to open the PDF documents in the browser, but it opens web links directly in the program. Is there any way to add the addons in x64 browser?

How to generate individual HTML files from linked help?

Hi folks,
I'm trying to figure out how to generate individual web pages - based on heading types - from a help project this is linked to a FrameMaker book.
I'm linking to the FM book, rather than importing, because the import process ruins my graphics. So, I know how to create individual web help pages using the import process; but that's not an option for me. (The graphics issue is a whole other discussion, which I've since given up on.)
So, I'm using TCS 3.5 (RH9 and FM10). I've successfully linked to the FM book. Each topic represents a complete chapter and includes a single Heading 1 for the title and several Heading 2's. Again, these are all in the same help topic because I'm linked to the FM book.
What I want to do is generate the web help so that new web pages (files) are created. In other words, I want breaks before each Heading 2. I want the resulting web pages to be named based on the Heading 2.
Is this possible?

I’m not sure I understand the problem (I’m using FM 10, RH9, TCS3): You can adjust .isf and all Conversion/CSS mapping, etc settings for an existing project (Linked or Imported) at:
File > Project Settings > FrameMaker Document > Edit Conversion settings for FrameMaker documents: (click Edit button).
Then, Go to FrameMaker Settings > Paragraph > Heading 1 etc. and click the box for Pagination.
What I don’t know is if you have to re-do your linking process from scratch to do your pagination settings right the first time (like create a new project with your Frame docs, which shouldn’t be hard to test if you have saved your CSS, Master Pages etc), or already have an .isf file with proper settings that you can specify at time of first import/linking. I already had these in place when I set up my linked project of a Frame book with 13 chapters – 350 pages – resulting in over 300 separate HTML files/topics (set H1, H2, and H3 levels to paginate). I don’t know if you can change these things post-linking, but it can definitely be done!
There is definitely no reason to have to have an entire FM chapter as one topic in RH. You may have to create a new project to achieve your desired results, I am not sure.
I hope this is helpful. Regarding RH ruining your images, I know what you mean. Through a painstaking process of research, trial, and error, I found that these Image options in the Conversion Settings produced the best results for me, though not as good as “ideal:”
·         Check the box for “Use Distiller to Generate Image”
·         Leave the “Do Not Regenerate Images” and “Preserve 3D Images” boxes unchecked
·         Under Preferred Dimensions: Check “Maintain Aspect Ratio” and check Width and Height – Set both to 0pt. (*This one was a key tip.) Leave “Scale” unchecked. (Scaling seems to do terrible things in RH.)
·         I left the Max Dimensions settings unchecked.
·         Set my personal preferences for margins (2pt all sides) and borders (solid, gray, 1 pt)
·         Under Advanced, Default format of PNG with color bit depth of 24. My graphics are all screenshots, so this is the reason for this in my instance.

Database Links Help

I want to create a dynamic PL/SQL Portlet which displays an image based on a value in a remote database.
Can someone explain how to use Database Links in Oracle Portal and then how to create the public synonym so it can be accessed in the SQL?
I've tried to do it but am unsure which schema to create a DB Link To - Is it the Portal Schema?

In the Portal Navigator click on the Database tab.
Create a new schema e.g. BRAND. If you give it a password you can log in directly to that schema using SQLDeveloper, which can be hugely helpful for debugging and testing.
Click on the schema in the list to open it up. Create a new database link. You will need to know a named user and password on the remote database, as well as the SID. The SID must match an entry on the TNSNAMES.ORA file on the application server, which is not necessarily the same as your local PC (this has caught me out far too often...).
Create a synonym for the table SYSTEM_PARAMETERS in your new schema. On the second page you will have to type in the source table name (the pop-up search doesn't work across database links) and also select the database link (it's best to use the popup search for this).
If you use SQLDeveloper to log into your new schema then you should be able to check everything is well by running your select stagement:
select parameter_value
from system_parameters
where parameter = 'BRAND';

Button Linking Help....

Hey guys!
I am doing some work for a friend at the moment, they have a FLASH header they have brought from a template site... it can be found here:

What I am struggling with (I have changed images and the text) But I cant make each of the buttons or areas HyperLinked... I want each to act as a button so they can browse their site. Can anyone please help? I have tried making the images buttons, and setting the action as GetURL etc I have also tried linking the text in the properties section, but it just wont work!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Google Docs link Help PLEASE

would anyone mind please helping me understand why the google doc link URL that i embed in my website keeps going to the main page instead of the document I am trying to link - or alternatively is requiring me to login before I access the document?
I /simply/ want to be able to let someone click on a link and go to a document that I have posted to Google docs and each time I do this one or the other of the above issues comes up.
I even tried to SHARE the document from withing the Google Docs interface and when I click on the two links in the email they both come up as inacessible (problem number 3).

I moved files and lost content, not just links-HELP?

I have an indesign book and chapter files. I have been backing up (I thought) by copying the folder that contains all of these (chapters and book). When I moved the backup folders of old versions of the book, then tryied to open my current version, I have only text boxes. No placed images, no links to missing images.
HELP?

The .indb file is a collection of pointers to the individual documents, and any copies you make continue to point to the original locations, and those files continue to point to the original links. If you want to make a backup, use the Package command to make copies of everything and change the link and pointer locations.

Absolute links - help - am going NUTS!

This is crazy and is probably really simple but I have been going round in circles allday....
I am trying to hyperlink to an external web site.
I set up the hyperlink with the absolute address however when I publish the site it appears as a link to my actual site then to the external site - which obviously doesn't work. The thing that is really bugging me is that some of my links work perfectly well and some as I have just mentioned.
I cannot begin to understand why this is?

The most frustrating page is actuallym y links page. All links work apart from one? AND, when I test my page in the browser it all works fine - just when it's publised does it go pear chaped?

Linking help from Masthead area par IView.

Hi All,
I hv to link the Help option provided in masteadhead area to a par IView which I created in JSPDynpages. This IView is stored in Portal_Content/MyFolder
However, I am confused how to link this help option from masthead area. My requirement is, when we click on Help option it should open this par IView in a new window instead of pop-up window.

is supported since Oracle Database 10g Release 2.

Photoshop button links- help!

I created several different photoshop buttons that link to different pages in my website. I had never had an issue with them until I started moving the physical location of the buttons around on the page. In preview mode, all links work perfectly. However when I publish my work, the buttons are linked to all the wrong pages (they usually link to the page that used to be in that physical location).
However I've double checked and they are all linked properly. I have no idea what is wrong.
