Frequent Blue Screen of Death on New Computer
I had a computer made by a private company here in Chennai. I searched for Crash Dump and put the results in my DropBox public folder. I hope you can help me solve this problem.
Link to dropbox folder....
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/43zewairw83ku1u/_FYHRlqDBu/Blue%20ScreenThese crashes were related to memory corruption (probably caused by a driver).
Please run this test to find which driver is causing the problem.
Driver verifier (for complete directions see our wiki here)
If you are overclocking (pushing the components beyond their design) you should revert to default at least until the crashing is solved. If you don't
know what it is you probably are not overclocking.
Advice offered in good faith. It is your decision to implement same. Wanikiya and Dyami - Team ZigZag -
Windows "Blue screen of Death" when booting computer attached to LabVIEW PXI realtime system
Good Morning (at least in the western hemisphere)!
I'm having a problem on two test systems where intermittently, at least on one machine, I get a Windows "Blue Screen of Death" error message when booting the machine connected to a PXI RT system. I reloaded the RT systems software yesterday (LV RT 7.1.1, NI-VISA 3.3.1) and am having this problem on two different setups, two laptops, two PXI chassis. Our short term work around has been to boot with the network cable removed at one end or the other, but these are the baseline models for a larger test system in the design/construction stage that will not be used by knowledgeable engineers but by (probably more knowledgeable!) technicians. Any ideas would be a help
Thanks again,

LabVIEW ChampionBlue screens are almost always caused by drivers and not by applications, so chances are there's a problem on the driver level. The crash log file will be instrumental to diagnosing this problem.
Turn on the crash event logging as described in this Microsoft KB:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314084/EN-US/
...and then post the details from the crash found in the Windows Event Viewer here. That will help us narrow the problem down.

Blue screen of death on newer versions of skype (n...
Even the attempt to install 6.21.0.104, Blue screens my laptop. After three blue screens and the following recovery screens, I cannot put this poor laptop through many more of these. There is no reason that Skype should cause a system failure of this kind. (Or possible failure because blue screens are suposedly prevention measures to ya know... prevent damage.) Although its still causing damage.
Tried reinstalling, tried different version, and tried other various things involving other programs and firewall settings. Nothing works.
I am attempting to install an offline installer for 6.14. Hopefully it works and doesn't destroy this laptop.Yeah I meant to do that part. I was able to instal the older version but attempting to run it has the same blue screen result. I even tried running it in safemode. However, it errors out of skype. Does not provide me with any error codes either, but its better than a blue screen.
I assume that something in the newest version messed up the computer somehow, I just don't have time at this very moment to go search it out and deal with it. Just ridiculous that Skype would mess up that badly.

Blue Screen of Death on New Macbook Pro 13 Inch a blue
My macbook pro 13 Inch is a week old, and so far it has been freezing, with just a blue or yellow screen about twice per day. I'm using an external monitor as well as the laptop screen. I have to re-set (restart) the computer. There is an EFI firmware update available to correct a problem with the 15 and 17 inch versions not responding, but I'm assuming that that isn't appropriate for my 13 inch.
Anyone have any ideas?AASP is an Apple Authorized Service Provider. To locate one in your area please follow this site:

N97, blue screen of death when connected to PC
I recently had my phone in to have the touch screen fixed. Today I tried to connect it to my PC using the USB for the first time since getting it back, after adding a few music albums to the mass storage I keep getting the blue screen of death on my computer.
Now I have checked for any PC related problems but have found nothing that could be causing this apart from the phone.
Has anyone had this problem or know of a solution? Not had the problem, but assuming your phone is in PC Suite mode, try removing all nokia/ovi software and re-installing the latest version. If in Mass Storage mode, can't see how phone can affect computer, it's just and external hard drive and shouldn't be any different to plugging in a usb memory stick !
Also it could be pure coincidence and your computer may have just developed a fault ?
Good Luck

Blue Screen of Death when I try to install Leopard drivers.
So, I've been able to use Boot Camp to install Windows XP, SP 2 on my new 20-inch aluminum iMac. This is the same version (same disk, in fact) of Windows that I installed on my old 17-inch iMac, and it worked perfectly then.
After I finish the Windows installation, and put the Leopard disk in to install the drivers, nothing happens. No Autoplay. When I go into My Computer, and double-click on the cd, the installation process starts. After cycling through 4 drivers, I get the blue screen of death and the computer reboots.
When everything restarts, Windows tells me that I suffered an error. I can't send an error report off, because Windows won't acknowledge my wireless internet connection yet, without the Apple drivers.
I've tried to transfer the Boot Camp 2.1 update to the Windows partition via 2g flash drive, and no luck. Trying to run the update doesn't do anything, the icon simply lights up for a moment and then un-highlights. Nothing happens.
I'm really confused, I didn't have ANY problems like this on my last iMac. Any help anyone might have would be greatly appreciated. There IS another way to try this.
Boot to Windows and right-click My Computer or My Documents and open as "explore". Insert the Leopard disk. If it offers to install STOP it. Click on the LEFT side the plus sign next to the machine's DVD drive icon (the reason we opened the "explore" style directory). The Boot Camp files are now passive but exposed. Next right click My Computer and click properties. Next hardware and then device manager. Now you can one-by-one install the drivers using Windows hardware wizard. You might even want to drag the contents of the Leopard disk (drivers) right on to your (Windows) "desktop". In device manager open Human Interface Devices - you will find Apple Keyboard or whatever an iMac has there. Rightclick and hit Update Driver - the Wizard opens. Click 'no - not this time' and continue. Click 'install from a specific location' and continue. Next the Wizard gives you a 'browse location' option. Just click around until you locate the Boot Camp drivers in your disk or desktop and proceed - it will update, I promise you. -
Satellite A105-S4284 gets Blue Screen of Death when coming out of standby
MySatellite A105-S4284 runnings Windows XP gets a BSOD after coming out of standby or hibernation. With standby, I'll see the login screen where I enter my password, and then it may show the desktop background or even the open app (Outlook or Word, typically) for a second, afterwhich the BSOC appears. For weeks I was getting a black screen sporadically after standby. Researched the problem and saw recommendations to update BIOS. So I updated the BIOS to the latest version, and then I started getting blue screens of death rather than a black screen. Thought the problem was McAfee, because I'd get crashes right after McAfee became active in the background, sometimes without going into standby. Cancelled McAfee, took it off with the cleaner, used Avast instead, and that seemed to help. But then BSODs came back. I uninstalled non-essential software, clearned registry with CC Cleaner, freed up more HD space and defragged, ran SpyBot, etc - but I still get the BSOD almost every time I go into standby or hibernate.
The stop messages on the BSOD don't show a driver. and all begin with 0x0000007E (0x000000C5, ... and then differ after that. One recent one followed with 0x804E13D5, 0xAA6B9B8C, 0xAA6B9888). Does that mean anything?
I've installed Microsoft's debugging tools to look at the dumps after a BSOD. Here is output for two recent crashes. Doesn't point to a driver. NTKRMLMP.exe is what crashes - do I need to replace that from the I386 folder somehow? I did have my Matsu**bleep**a DVD-CD drive suddenly quit a time or two until the computer was restarted. Should I reinstall the DVD driver? Or the graphics driver? Worried that I might break something by doing that.

In a new account, the BSOD still occurs. I created a new account, logged out of my account, and went to the new one. Tried standby. It came out of standby for a second and then had the blue screen of death.
In checking the event manager, I seen errors shortly before crashes sometimes that involve the CD.
So I went to Toshiba.com and downloaded the DVD RAM driver and ran it, reinstalling the driver, and then restarted. I also saw that there was C-Dilla driver in my drivers. I uninstalled the SafeCast program that I think is associated with C-Dilla, moved the C-Dilla driver out of the drivers to a distant folder, unchecked C-Dilla in MSCONFIG so it won't load (it was still there after removing SafeCast), and then reinstarted. So with a new DVD Ram driver and neutering, I hope, of C-Dilla, I tried things again and the system appeared to be crash free - better than it had been. But then a crash occurred - BSOD - and upon restart, the CD locked up, and crashed again.
After restarting, there was a new dialog that popped up after Windows launched indicating that there had been an error with SONIC DLA. Before the crash, there was an event n the event viewer:
My last error comes from the Plug and Play Manager:
The device 'MAT**bleep**A DVD-RAM UJ-841S' (IDE\CdRomMAT**bleep**A_DVD-RAM_UJ-841S________________1.60____\5&226f6cf2&0&0.0.0) disappeared from the system without first being prepared for removal.
Hmmm. So things are still vulnerable. Any ideas? Buy new CD drive? Or new computer? -
Installed 7.4 on WinXP - Blue Screen of Death
I just installed iTunes 7.4 on my WinXP machine and when it rebooted after the install, I got the blue screen of death prior to getting into Windows. I tried rebooting again and got the same blue screen of death. I reverted back to the last sucessful bootup confoguration, but now iTunes does not work at all (even though Quicktime does work).
I do not have an old version of iTunes 7.3 so I'm wondering what to do next. I don't want to try to reinstall 7.4 again because I'm afraid it might again give me the blue screen and I might not be able to recover. I have not had a problem EVER with installing any other iTunes version (in the last 3 or 4 years) except this one.
Any suggestions on how to get iTunes back up working? Should I search for the 7.3 version somewhere (and any suggestions on where to find it would be helpful), or did the 7.4 install wipe out the possibility of installing 7.3 over it?
TonyYou can get old versions of iTunes here:
http://www.oldapps.com/itunes.htm
Uninstall 7.4 first you might even have to go through this, but I am not sure as 7.4 is so new:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93698
If you want to investigate the BSOD here is something to get you started:
Stop Messages
Post the exact error message. It should be some sort of numbers and text -
0x(zeros/letters/numbers) (CAPSANDUNDERSCORES)
For example:
Stop 0x05 (INVALIDPROCESS_ATTACHATTEMPT)
Also is a file name mentioned in the error message? If so give the exact file name - this is important as it can really help sort out what's wrong.
if you're not seeing a blue screen (or just a flash of one), you can use this technique to make hidden blue screens appear:
1) Open your system control panel (Start->Control Panels->System).
2) Select the "Advanced" tab.
3) Click the "Settings" button in the "Startup and Recovery" section
4) Verify that under "System Failure" the "Automatically restart" checkbox is not checked.
There is some general help on Troubleshooting Windows Stop Messages here:

Im getting a blue screen of death with the message "Machine Check Exception." It happened with my K8T, and now with my K8N. I know it is the audigy 2 because I took it out and used onboard sound and I never got the blue screen anymore. Put it back in and BSODs are back. = (

audigy 2 and zs are abut the same, infact i use my audigy2's drive bay on my zs.
i had a terrivble time getting rid of the drivers though resulting in a complete reinstall
correct, and when I took the audigy2 out of my system for a week I didnt have one BSOD...
so I guess its the card, I guess my question is do you think its a driver problem or a hardware problem with the audigy, like bad ram on it or something? -
Error 13 = Blue Screen of Death?
Thought I'd try this board and see if anyone knows anything about 'error 13' and Panther.
I have been plagued by this error message which pops up whenever I try to print from either of my printers or burn a CD. This all happened after I tried to load a demo version of Adobe Illustrator CS2.
Over the last day I have tried the following:
* deleted the apple.com.print preferences
* reset the PRAM
* unplugged, unpowered and restarted the printers and their USB connections
* deleted the printers from the print setup utility and tried to reinstall them (but there too I get the 'error 13' message. Printers won't load but they do show up as if they loaded. Just won't work, that's all.
* tried logging in as a new user, and then the printer message is "Not enough RAM" to print.
* repaired the disk permissions from the CD
Generally I've done everything I can think of... except to reload the OS, which I hesitate to do because I have to first load Jaguar, then the Panther update, then the other updates. Last time I tried that things didn't quite work out.
I do have an external backup drive, which also got corrupted as I tried loading the Adobe Illustrator CS2 on that disk too. Dumb I know...
So... anyone know what 'error 13' means?
Is 'error 13' the Mac equivalent of the Windows Blue Screen of Death?
Thanks for any input...Hello Pawel,
I have looked over the service request you mentioned about acquiring 2 PCIe-6537 at 20MHz sampling rate on all 32 lines. In order to narrow down this issue, I think it would be best to try only acquire from both cards without doing any triggerring etc. Also when performing this test, I would only want to acquire from 8 channels on both cards to see if this reproduces it. If this works, we can slowly add more elements to narrow down what the issue is and make us more effective to solve the problem.
I also wanted to ask if you have tried this setup on another machine and if it worked.
Along with this, have you tried to create two Digital Tasks in MAX and try to acquire for the same amount of time to see if the issue reoccurs here? This would tell us if this problem is connected to the driver/computer or LabVIEW.

Blue Screen of Death When opening iTunes.
I am at a loss. For the past six months I have been trying to figure out why my computer has a blue screen of death and then restarts "nearly" everytime i open iTunes. The "nearly" is what's driving me nuts because every once in a while it will open ONCE and then start crashing again. I don't even do anything to help it open it just miraculously works every now and then. It even craches the comp when starting iTunes in safe mode. The blue screen error says "Page Fault in non-paged area". iTunes worked fine for months before this randomly started happening. I have tried every solution I have seen, even ones that weren't for my problem. So far I have:
Manually uninstalled iTunes and QT and reinstalled the standalone QT then iTunes.
Disabled itunes helper and ipod service before starting.
Disabling all other services and start-up items.
Installed current bios and drivers (as far as I can tell)
Installed current windows installer.
Updated microsoft products including .net
Updated Java runtime environment
Replaced ram
I have a pentium 4 1.6ghz with soyo mobo and a RAID card(mirrior) set-up. 1 gig of pc133 ram. I can ul the minidump if needed.
I figured out how to load my podcasts on my ipod manually but I want to get a video ipod so I need itunes. PLEASE HELP!!
Windows XPthere's a few more things worth checking on. but let's also capture a minidump of the crash and send it to someone who can interpret minidumps.
To set up your machine to capture a minidump, right click on "My Computer", select "Properties", select the "Advanced" tab, select the "Startup and Recovery" Settings button, select "small memory dump" from the popup. When it crashes, look for the MiniDump file. It's usually in the folder "C:\WINDOWS\Minidump" and is called something like Mini<number>-<number>.dmp.
send it to this email address
in the email, put the URL to this discussion thread, so that whoever gets it has some context. Also give as much information about the context of the crash (in the email) as you can.

Blue screen of death on Toshiba P755-S5375 with ADOBE ENCORE CS6
I recently purchased a new laptop and installed Adobe Master Collection CS6. I purchased the laptop for video capture and editing, as well as for blu-ray authoring.
Unfortunately, although the computer and software works fine for video capture and editing, I am unable to author a blu-ray. For authoring, I am using Adobe’s Encore CS6. After checking and previewing my creation, I attempt to build to disc using Encore. About 2 seconds after clicking the build disc in Encore, I get the “blue screen of death” (BSOD). This happens every time I try to build to blu-ray (only blu-ray has this issue; I am able to build to a DVD). I am using an external blu-ray drive on USB 3.0.
I am using Encore version 6.0.0.492

We need to know the Stop code on the blue screen. If there is a file name mentioned, we want that too.
You can prevent the rapid disappearance of the blue screen during a normal boot by choosing this at the F8 Startup menu.

X200 Tablet - Wacom Pen Blue Screen of Death on Windows 7
Hello...hopefully someone can help & point me in the right direction...I have a Lenovo x200 tablet PC (Stylus Only Version) - and recently installed Windows 7 Professional (64bit)
The OS install went perfectly...Once installed, I did all the Systems Updates for Windows 7, including all the updates for Lenovo using System Update 4.01.....However, I have an issue that I cannot seem to figure out...
PROBLEM # 1
The biggest issue I now face is, whenever I put the Digitized Pen next to the Tablet Screen within 2 seconds I get the 'Blue Screen of Death'....and it automatically Reboots....This ONLY happens when I touch the Pen to the screen....
I uninstalled the 'Wacom Drivers' - within the Device Manager, which i assume were installed by the system update(s)....After, uninstalling the issue of the 'Blue Screen' from happening when the pen touches the screen is gone.....However, I have no way of being able to use the Pen...it does not show any cursor or inking....Is there a specific DRIVER that I should be installing on my own to make this work properly - without getting the 'Blue Screen of Death' each time?....I really need some guidance on this issue.
PROBLEM # 2
My Second issue, which is suddenly occured after day 2 of installing updates is the Lenovo System Update 4.01 -- Suddenly, after working on day 1 - now, whenever i try to 'Check New Updates' i get a popup that says "An error was detected with the Package catalog for your system on the System Update Server. Please contact the Support Center".
I called techical support on the phone - and they made it seem like this was not their problem and they could not help me...The odd thing is, that this was working before, and now all of sudden it doesnt work...
If someone can please advise me on what to do, especially with the Pen Driver problem, I would greatly appreciate it....Thanks!
Solved!
Go to Solution.**FIXED IT** TWICE!
I've been messing with this on multiple machines at my school.
I was getting the BSOD, "no tablet installed" all that good stuff.
I installed this, that and the other thing.
After testing another machine, I read something in the BSOD that caught my attention.
It mentions resetting the cache of the BIOS. I wasn't sure what that meant, or how to do it.
But I was able to get into the BIOS (F1 on the Lenovo splash screen) and I just tapped F9 (load default Bios options -paraphrasing) Then I hit ESC- it prompts to save the settings, agree and let the computer continue to boot.
I was able to test the Pen at the login screen. Just repeated this process on another X200 computer and it worked again.
Try it.
Good luck! -
Blue screen of death when building blu-ray in Encore CS6
Here are the blu-ray drive specs:
