Re making your calendar for the first time

Hi, I am having a little trouble figuring just how to create my first calendar using photos from my i photo library. I know that it most likely is a relatively simple process, but in as I am a first timer, I would be most grateful for any and all advice on how to create a calendar from start to finish using my photos. I must admit sometimes I have difficaulty understanding and putting together in my head what the instructions are trying to convey to the reader, so your patience will be much appreciated. You may if you wish, email me at ****@*****.** with your advice or assistance. Thank you so much for your time and patience.

Select a group of photos that you want in your calendar ( you can always add more later by dragging them from the iPhoto event window on the right to the Calendar album on the left) and click calendar in the tool bar at the bottom (if it is not there go to the view menu ==> show in toolbar and check it)
You will thereby create a calendar project in the source pane to the left and open it - select a theme and start dragging photos where you want them in the calendar
Once it is like you want it click buy
Or do it the easy way and use the online Apple Tutorial - http://www.apple.com/ilife/tutorials/#iphoto-gifts-14

  • Every sync gets "You are about to synchronize your calendar for the first time" - Help !!!

I am on a MBP with the Tour and was able to successfully sync iCal and Address Book with BB. But everytime I try to sync, I get the " You are about to synchronize our Calendar data for the first time." with the options to "Replace Device Data", "Merge Data" or Cancel. Has anyone seen this and know how to fix? Replacing data makes it impossible to update Mac with changes on BB.
    Please help!

Create a backup of your iCal and your BlackBerry.
Then create a test Calendar event on the BlackBerry, in iCal then test another synchronization once again.
The first time sync prompt usually occurs when it does not detect entries in either the BlackBerry or iCal Calendar.

  • Making a purchase for the first time, security questions are different to what I've set up?

    Hello,
My friend has recently gifted me a $10 for my app store. After redeeming it, it says I have $10.00 Credit, which I assume is a good thing. Now, with this money he has sent me, I am trying to buy a Gem Pack in the game 'Clash Of Clans', this costs $9.99.
I click purchase and it tells me "Insufficient Remaining Store Credit" where it also says "Tap Continue to Sign In". After typing my password in, I am led to the account billing settings where I've got the 'none' option selected as I have not put any credit card details which shouldn't be a problem as I'm trying to buy with the money my friend has given me.
I click the 'done' button where it then tells me "confirmation required" where I then click 'buy', but then it comes up with "Verification Required".
Putting in my password once again, it asks me for security questions. Here lies the problem. It usually asks me one question I know, and another that I haven't put in before. Usually "What's your dream job?" comes which I've put the answer to as this is a question I know. But, after it usually asks me either "What was your first pet's name?" which is a question I haven't put before.
I've tried going to appleid.apple.com and changing and resetting my security questions multiple times, even to match the questions that are asked and it gives me the same result.
"You've typed one or more security questions answers wrong".
Please help, this is getting on my nerves. If this persists, I'm afraid I won't be buying from iTunes much.
    Cheers,
    Jack.

After resetting your questions you've tried logging out (tap on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store) and back into your account on your iPad to see if they then tie up ?
If they don't, and resetting them yourself doesn't make any difference, then you could try contacting Support and see if they can help with what's going on.
Normally when needing to contact support to get the questions reset you need to contact Support in your country : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699
You could try the same contact method for your problem - or you could try contacting iTunes Support via this page, but as it's related to security questions they might just point you to the above : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ , click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page
For the $9.99 purchase and your $10 credit, if you are in the US then you need to add on your state's sales tax to an item's listed price

  • Accessing your site for the first time.

As provided the example code will allow you to access an example site. As your first test it is advised that you run the example code without modifications to ensure that you can access this site.
Once this is done, you can update the example code with the information provided when you activated your site. Once you have access to the site you will see one empty course page that will allow you to get familiar with the basics of managing an iTunes U course page.
Please note: the debug page which is accessible by appending the debug suffix to your destination is not functional at this time. Apple is working to address this issue.
      Mac OS X (10.4.6)

    Hi Tony,
Can you provide some details as to what your IT guys are puzzled by? Apple wants to make sure the documentation for iTunes U is as clear as possible so understanding what is puzzling will help improve the documentation.
The first thing to do is modify the example code with the information provided when you activated your site. I can tell that you activated your site successfully because I do not get a 404 Forbidden error when I click on the URL you provided.
From your description it sounds you have included the debug suffix in the destination variable. Don't include the debug suffix as this functionality is not fully implmented. It will just cause confusion.
Apple will not be able to provide examples of integrating with Active Directory at this time. Basically you will need to access user records in Active Directory and get the credentials that as user record has. Alternatively the transfer script/program could access what students are in a class and generate the correct credential for that class. This might become more clear as we publish the rest of the admin guide.

  • HT4859 how long does it take to backup your phone for the first time using icloud?

I have never used Icloud before and now my phone wants to be resotred so I am trying to back everything up using Icloud it just dosent seem to be moving and it just continues to say estimated time ...

    Hello there jspin11,
The amount of time that the iCloud backup will take depends on a few factors the 2 most important are the amount of data to be backed up, and the internet connection speed.
I found a great resource for troubleshooting iCloud backups named iCloud: Troubleshooting creating backups found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3992.
    General information
iCloud Backup requires a Wi-Fi connection to the Internet.
Automatic backups occur when you've plugged in your iOS device, locked the screen, and have connected it to Wi-Fi.
You can manually start a backup by tapping Back Up Now in Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup (requires a Wi-Fi connection to the Internet).
iCloud Backup will provide helpful information and status messages related to backups at the bottom ofSettings > iCloud > Storage & Backup.
If automatic backups don't work as expected, test to see what happens when you start a manual backup by tapping Back Up Now at the bottom of the Storage & Backup screen.
Backups and restores both take time, especially if you have a lot of data or a slow connection. Depending on the size of your data and the speed of your network, you may need to give more time than you expected to a backup or restore.
Make sure you have at least 50 MB of free space available on your iOS device before you back up. If you have no space available on your device, iCloud Backup can fail in some cases. You can verify how much free space you have available on your iOS device in Settings > General > About.
SettingsiCloud Backup settings are controlled on a per-device basis from Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup.
To view Storage & Backup settings:
Tap Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup.
    Tap Manage Storage.
Tap your device's name. From here you can:
View the size of your backups and see the storage used by each app.
Enable or disable Backup for each app.
    Delete Backups.
    Buy more storage.
If you're out of iCloud Storage space, you can apply several solutions:
Exclude Camera Roll and other large data from iCloud backups of your device by going to iCloud > Storage & Backup > Manage Storage and choosing your device.
Remove some of the larger files on your device, such as large audio or video files, from your Camera Roll in order make more space.
    Remove existing Backups.
    Purchase more storage.
For more information about managing and using the Storage & Backup settings, see this article.
If an issue persists and you are not able to resolve it using the methods discussed in this article, contact iCloud Support for additional assistance.
    All the best,
    Sterling

  • Can I sync my 'PC Free' activated iPhone with downloaded apps to iTunes for the first time without loosing data?

I have an iPhone 4 that has been activated over the air, "PC Free" and have used it for a month without ever connecting it to a computer. I have downloaded several apps, taken a few pictures, and even downloaded a few songs. Now I want to connect to my computer and sync and backup. Will I loose all my data?

Before you connect to a new PC, make sure that autosync is disabled in Edit/Preferences/Devices, otherwise her phone will be wiped during the following sync.
If she has data on the phone she wants to save, back up manually:
Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your phone to her new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your phone without syncing. Transfer the purchases the same way, choosing "transfer purchases" this time.
When you connect your phone for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the phone for the first time.

  • I updated to ios 7 2 days ago and I synced with my computer for the first time yesterday. Most of my calendar appts and events were wiped off my phone but are still on the computer. I use outlook 2010 and a pc running windows 7.

I updated my iphone 5 to  ios 7 two days ago and I synced with my computer for the first time yesterday. Most of my calendar appointments and events were wiped off my phone but are still on the computer. I use outlook 2010 and a pc running windows 7. Rebooting the phone and the computer failed to remedy the calendar sync problem.

Easy solution for restoring lost calendar informaiton, thank goodness.  On your iPhone, go to settings, then to iCloud.  If your Calendar selection is turned off,  turn it on.  Your info should restore.  If your Calendar selection is turned on, then turn it off.  Choose to save calendars when asked.  After it shuts the Calendar off, turn it back on.  Your info should be restored.
Thank you to Apple support for walking me through this.  Shame on you Apple for not just telling people about this easy fix rather than making us go through all of this pain and worry.

  • HT1338 I use iCal for the first time. How do you update it without needing to update all programs of your computer?

I use ical for the first time, how do you update the programm without updating for 2 hours all other programms

From the iCal Help Menu in the Tool Bar...
    Changing or deleting an event
You can change the time, day, alarm, or any other settings for any events you’ve created, or you can delete an event.
You can’t change the events on a calendar you’ve subscribed to (subscribed calendars appear in your Calendar list under the heading “Subscriptions”), and you can only change the calendar, status, and alarms for events you’ve been invited to.
To change or delete an event:
To change the time or day of an event you’ve created, drag the event to the new time or day in the main calendar view.
To change an event’s duration, drag the event’s top or bottom edge. (You can resize events only in Day or Week view.) If the event is an all-day event, in Week view, drag the left or right side of it.
To change the name of an event, double-click it. If necessary, click Edit to open the event editor. Select the event name, type a new name, and then click Done. (You can also change the name of an event without opening the event editor by holding down the Option key while you double-click the event name.)
To edit other characteristics of an event (for example, how often it repeats or whether it has an alarm), double-click the event. If necessary, click Edit to open the event editor. Make your changes.
To delete an event, select the event and press the Delete key on your keyboard.
If you’re changing an event to which you’ve invited other people, you need to send an updated event to the invitees by clicking Send in the event editor

  • I turned on my new imac for the first time and it is making a loud fan noise please help

I just got a new computer and when I turned it on for the first time it started making a loud fan noise. the noise seems like it is coming from the back speaker. and it does not make the noise on sleep mode.

Connect the iPad to a USB 2.0 port your computer with the cable and iTunes should launch and it will take you through the process step by step.
I assume that your computer meets the requirements and that you have the latest version of iTunes on your computer.

  • Is it true you can get your iPod fixed for free for the first time

I want to fix my ipod and my cousin said that they fix it for free for the first time so i wanted to ask you

No. The will replace your iPod at no cost if within the warranry period and the iPod was not abused. I wonder where everybody gets that one-time replacement.  It seems somebody says that once a day here.

Of course there is. There is with any computer system that you connect to the internet or transfers files to and from. When you run Windows on your Mac you increase the chance from zero that you will get a Windows based virus to virtualy the same risk as any other Windows user.
The weaknesses in Windows OS and applications are well trodden by virus and worm malcontents the world over. That doesn't mean that OSX is exempt though. All it will take is once and the entire Mac world will sit up and take notice......

The Apple Support Communities are an international user to user technical support forum. As a man from Mexico, Spanish is my native tongue. I do not speak English very well, however, I do write in English with the aid of the Mac OS X spelling and grammar checks. I also live in a culture perhaps very very different from your own. When offering advice in the ASC, my comments are not meant to be anything more than helpful and certainly not to be taken as insults.
Many folks have reported that this is true. However, the charge is not taken to the second step of completing the charge and the $1 revolves back to your account.
