Re: Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor at Best Buy

I purchased Shadow of Mordor and at the time it was still advertising the $10 rewards certificate for doing so. However I just looked at my Purchase History and it did not append the bonus 500 points ($10 reward credit) as it has done with similar purchases in the past. Please Help!

Hello roastb33f,
Thanks for purchasing Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor at Best Buy!
The $10 Reward Certificate you receive per our Get $10 promotion is in fact a pre-order bonus, as enuf has mentioned. Purchasing any eligible game after its release date will no longer yield the $10 Reward Certificate.
In viewing your purchase history, I do see that you purchased your copy of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor after the release date, which is exactly why you’re not seeing the points and I do apologize for any inconvenience or confusion this may cause. Click here to see our upcoming games that are eligible for this promotion. Also, please know that the points can take 15-20 days to appear on your account once an eligible game releases and you fulfill your pre-order.
Thanks!

  • Midldle Earth: Shadow of Mordor preorder $10 bonus

    Hello,
I preordered and picked up this game and I have yet to receive my $10 BB rewards yet while a few of my friends have received theirs.

    Hi Jer0009,
I wouldn't worry just yet! It typically takes 15-20 days from the time of shipment or pickup for pre-order bonus certificates to post, and they may not always appear as pending. If you still haven't seen record of your certificate within that timeframe, let us know and we'd be glad to see what can be done to assist you at that time.
Thanks for your patience and understanding, as well as for pre-ordering and purchasing your copy of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor with us!

  • Midldle Earth: Shadow of Mordor - Pre-order Bonuses?

    Hello!
I recently got off the phone with a Best Buy representative and wanted to confirm what was said is true.  I was late on jumping on the order ship for Shadow of Mordor.  I was planning on pre-ordering, but was waiting for confirmation on which is the "better" version (PS4 vs Xbox One, resolutiongate continues!).  As a result, I didn't "pre-order" and ordered it today.
The phone representative said that any order before the 3rd of October still qualifies for the pre-order bonuses (despite the game coming out on September 30th).  Is this true?  I'd like to confirm that I'll be receiving the $10 rewards certificate and pre-order bonus code before picking up the game.
I'd confirm it myself, but it appears the My Reward Zone site has changed and you can no longer see pending points.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi beflatline,
Like Kinsella5 mentioned, pre-order bonuses are typically only available to customers who reserve an eligible item prior to its release date and subsequently purchase it. I'm not personally aware of such an extension being offered, so I'd have to say the rep you spoke with was mistaken.
That said, I've sent you some information. Please make sure to check your private messages when you can by signing into the forum and then clicking on the letter icon in the upper right-hand corner of the page.
Thanks for purchasing your copy of Shadow of Mordor with us! I've been thinking of picking it up myself, so hope you're enjoying the game so far.

  • Shadow of Mordor Price match adjustment request.

Hi, I am writing this post because I am asking for a price match adjustment on my purchase from 9/24/2014. I am an elite plus member so I have 45 days to get an adjustment and I am also a gamers unlocked member. I will supply my order number to any BBY admin who messages me. I paid 51.35 after taxes and gcu 20% discount so with the current price being 49.99 -http://www.bestbuy.com/site/middle-earth-shadow-of-mordor-playstation-4/3025013.p?id=1219086172987&s...
The product sku is 3025013. The price should come to $39.99 after gcu discount and then 7% sales tax for my state is added in making it $42.79. So I should get a refund of $8.56.
I thank any forum admin in advance for their awaited PM.

  • Missing "pre order points" for Shadow of Mordor.

I've recently received Shadow of Mordor, I had the game pre ordered, but I'm positive that I didn't receive the 500 bonus points for pre ordering. I can't tell if they're pending or what with the new system, and I can't report those points missing through the "report missing points" menu.
Can I get some help with that?

    Good morning Vaymasters,
It can generally take up to 20 days for points to post to a member's My Best Buy™ and Middle-earth: Shadows of Mordor was only released a few days ago (9/30/2014), so it might be a few more days before any points officially post to your account.  As far as I can tell though, your pre-order should qualify for the "Get $10" pre-order bonus points.  If you do not see 500 bonus points post to your account within 20 days, then please send me a private message and I will see what I can do.  A private message can be sent by clicking on the blue button in my signature.

  • Missing Pre Order 500 Points for Shadow of Mordor.

I preordered Shadow of Mordor on 9/19 and picked it up on release date.  Purchase point was posted to my account today, but I'm not seeing bonus points pending or posted to my account.

    Hi sjc1279,
If your pre-order of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor met the terms of the "Get $10" pre-order offer, then the 500 bonus points should post to your My Best Buy account within about 20 days.  Please keep in mind that these bonus points may not appear as pending along side the base points.  I looked over your account using the email address you registered with the forum, and from what I can see, your pre-order should qualify.
With that all being said, if you do not see 500 bonus points post to your My Best Buy account within 20 days, then please feel free to send me a private message and I will make sure they are added to your account.  You can send a private message by clicking on the blue button in my signature labeled "Private Message."

  • $10 in rewards for pre-ordering Shadow of Mordor?

On 9/12/14, I pre-ordered Shadow of Mordor for PS4.  I picked it up on release day and it's been four days and I haven't seen the points show up on my account.  I understand that it takes up to 15 days for them to post but when I look up my pre-order I don't even have the 500 points pending.  I pre-ordered Destiny with the same offer and that at least showed that the points are pending.  Will the site update with "Victory is Pre-Ordered" listing?  I just want to make sure that I get the points for the purchase.

    Hi hollywoodhags.
I pulled up your account history using the email address you registered with the forum, and I do see that you pre-ordered Middle-earth: Shadows of Mordor on BestBuy.com.  It is common for bonus points to not appear as pending; however, they should officially post to your My Best Buy™ account within about 20 days if you qualify.  Based on the "Get $10" offer details and from what I can see, your pre-order should qualify for the 500 bonus points.
With that all being said, if you do not see those bonus points post to your account within 20 days, then please send me a private message and I will see what I can do to help.  You can send a private message by clicking on the blue button in my signature.
Enjoy your new game, and let us know if you have any other questions!

    Hi Fettsbounty,
Welcome to the Best Buy forum!
If your pre-order was shipped/picked up within seven days of the games official release (9/30/2014), then 500 bonus points should have posted to your My Best Buy™ account within about 20 days.  From everything I can see, your pre-order of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor should qualify for the bonus points.

  • $10 reward certificate for Shadow of Mordor.

I am hoping that the string of errors that I have encountered does not prevent me from getting the reward certificates that should come with pre-ordering Shadow of Mordor. Let me start my adventure with this....
On August 6th, I preordered Shadow of Mordor, along with two other games, on the same reciept. Now, I wanted Shadow of Mordor for my PS4 and the other two for Xbox One. I didn't pay attention and the checkout person made all 3 of them for the Xbox One. After I noticed I told her about the mistake and she assured me that I can still use it for the PS4 version and that my reward certificates wouldn't be affected. Okay, so I bought into that.
When I went to purchase Shadow of Mordor on September 30th I was assured again that it would be okay. Now, I thought I had nothing to worry about....but as I looked at the reciept yesterday I just noticed that the customer service person never used the pre-order credit towards the game....sigh. I didn't notice at the time because I used some reward certiciates, the gamers club discount, and a gift card. I didn't do the math in my head because I was rushing and just got off work.
Is there anything I can do to get the $10? What happens to my unused pre-order credit now that the game has been released? I don't lose it do I? Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi ZombieSpaceLord,
I greatly appreciate multiple games at Best Buy! I do however apologize as it sounds like there may have been a mix up with which versions of each game you wanted. I’m happy to hear that we were able to get you the correct versions upon the release dates! With that said, it’s understandable that you’d be concerned about the $10 Reward Certificate for pre-ordering Shadow of Mordor and I’ll gladly assist here.
I’ve located your final sales receipt using your email address on file for the forums and I’m going to send you a private message with some specifics about your purchase. Make sure you’re logged into your account and click the small envelope on the top right of the screen to view your inbox.
I’ll be reaching out to you shortly!

  • [Games] Tome - Tales of Middle Earth

    edit: PKGBUILD and patch updated
here is my second pkgbuild.. its annoying me a bit because the makefile is so badly written.
ive hacked it slightly, but its still acting strangely. I believe it to be the games fault and not mine, but as always i may be wrong.
i dont know how to include links in a pkg.
ive done an ln -s xxx yyy but since the target doesnt exist in the filesystem yet, it cant be done during the build stage.. i assume there is a post-install ability where this would be done.. if anyone could point out how to do this id be greatful, otherwise ill just start `man'ing and figure it out myself.
FYI, the game comes with LUA support, but it compiles and runs fine without it, hence it is not in DEPENDS

    thanks again.

ive updated PKGBUILD and makefile patches above.
this has to be the most annoying thing ever..
if the lib directory (data files) arent set to a specific user's home directory, then the parsed files must later be chmod /chown and chgrp'ed to a proper user so everyone else can use them.
if theyre set to a specific users home directory, then no one else has access to them!!!
im not sure what the best way to go about it would be, but for the time being ive set the /usr/local/tome/*/ directories as group user with write permissions.
once a user runs the game they have chowned the parsed files, if another user wants to run it, the files must chown and chgrp'ed
    any help would be appreciated

  • Did not get my pre order points (best buy rep help me)

Didn't get my pre order points of 500 for shadow of morder today and also never even got a couple or 25 bonus points for reviews last month
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi aaronc80,
It’s great to see that you’re taking advantage of the My Best Buy bonus points for reviewing products on BestBuy.com! I also appreciate you pre-ordering your games at Best Buy. With that said, I do apologize for any confusion you’ve endured if you’re not seeing points for both the reviews, as well as the Get $10 promotion.
Both of these promotions usually take up to 20 days for the points to appear on your account. Shadow of Mordor came out 9/30, so it may be a few days yet before you’ll see those points. In regards to the product reviews, there are a few reasons you may not see your points, aside from the fact that it can also take up to 20 days. First, the review must be approved and published to receive the points. Also, a maximum of 8 reviews (total 200 points) will be awarded per calendar year per member. Lastly, your My Best Buy membership does need to be attached to your BestBuy.com account to receive the points.
I’m hoping these details help clear up why you’re not seeing any points yet in these two instances! Please don’t hesitate to send me a private message if you’re not seeing the 500 points from your Shadow of Mordor pre-order after 20 days of having picked up your copy, or it being shipped.
    Thanks,
