Re: MSI GE600 Drivers?

Hi
first sorry for my english  :D
i`m going to buy soon a MSI GE600 and i have some questions about the drivers
the last drivers released by MSI (2010/06/28) (http://eu.msi.com/index.php?func=nbdriver&maincat_no=135&prod_no=2017) has included for the HD5730 the last drivers released by ATI (2010/06/16) (http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/radeonmob_win7-64.aspx) ?
to update to the last MSI drivers, must i only execute de setup.exe and install? or must i first uninstall the old drivers and then install the new drivers?
thanks

  • MSI GE600 Drivers of ATI 5730

Hi all and sorry for my english.
    I have a MSI GE600-023
    My question is simply :
can i install the generic driver of ATI =>  http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx for my GE600
    or
I must use obligatory the MSI driver => http://eu.msi.com/index.php?func=nbdriver&maincat_no=135&prod_no=2017
    Thx for your answer.

I recently found that the ge600 can be successfully updated to catalyst 12.6 (june 2012) with a method very similar to pmignault's solution. The only difference is an extra step to install 11.8 drivers in between. Going from msi drivers to 12.6 directly will not work.
Here's how I got it to work on a fresh win7 x64 install:
    1. Install 5730 drivers from msi (6/28/10 release)
    2. Reboot and go into bios. Set graphics options to "PEG"
    3. Go into windows 7 and install catalyst 11.8 whql (i'm not allowed to post links, but search "amd catalyst 11.8 whql guru3d forums" in google. should be the first result)
    4. Reboot and go into windows 7 again. Now install 12.6 whql (got it from guru3d forums as well)
    5. Reboot and go into bios. Set graphics back to "SG"
    6. Enjoy
    Notes:
-Do not uninstall any drivers in between steps. Install everything over what is already there (this is usually not advised, but it's the only way you can preserve graphics switching for ge600)
-For all the installations, I chose the express option which installs everything in the package. I tried just installing the graphics driver and CCC, but it didn't work out for me
-I couldn't get this to work with the newest 12.8 drivers, but I was satisfied with 12.6 since i was previously stuck with 11.8's. I'll keep trying as new driver releases come out.

  • MSI GE600 - Simple Communication Controller Drivers

    Hi,
I recently purchased two MSI GE600 notebooks.  The notebook came with Windows 7 Home Premium, which I replace with Windows 7 Ultimate.  My problem is that I'm missing a driver for "Simple Communication Controller"
I have installed all the drivers provided by MSI on their website, but still can't figure out what I'm missing.
    Thanks in advance,

  • Clean Install - use MSI System Drivers?

I have a question regarding a clean install.
Install operating system -> MSI Chipset Drivers then update on top using ATI Catalyst 8.4?, Realtek Audio Drivers and finally Realtek PCI-E Lan Drivers.
What is difference between the MSI Drivers and the Catalyst suite?  They same to be the same:
    Catalyst Control Centre
    ATI Install Manager
    North Bridge Filter Driver
    ATI Display Manager
    IDE Driver
    Microsoft Visual C++
    ATI Unified Stream Driver
except the MSI Drivers adds Avivo64 Driver
Also, I thought it was always best to unistall all ATI drivers before upgrading? - at least that is the concensus on the AMD forum.
    Any advice is appreciated.

    Seagate 500GB 16MB cache SATA-2 HD
    Mitsumi 1.44 internal 3.5 floppy / 6 in 1 card reader
    Samsung 206BW

    I guess that's where I'm confused.
It dosen't appear that the MSI system drivers are any different than the ATI catalyst drivers.  The only difference is that the MSI drivers wanted to install Avivo64 on my system.  Going to the ATI Catalyst site, it offers Avivo64 as a seperate download, but "Avivo Video Converter will only work with X1000 series products."   http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx?p=vista64/common-vista64  I have a 2900XT.
The Realtek audio and PCIe Ethernet drivers to install from the MSI site are in this case up to date and make sense.
So to ask in a different way, is there a problem with:  OS first -> then the ATI Catalyst Suite (system drivers and display driver) - NOT install the MSI system drivers which appear to be outdated and the same as the ATI Catalyst Suite- then the Realtek Audio Driver, and finally the Realtek PCIe Ethernet driver.
    Thanks

    hey guys ,
i tried to update my graphics and i downloaded the latest version (compatible) and followed these steps to install it :
1.- Reboot your laptop and enter the BIOS
2.- Go into the graphic properties and select "PEG" as the default graphic card.
    3.- Reboot into Windows 7.
4.- Download and install the drivers from the support page of amd
5.- Reboot into the BIOS and set the graphic card back to switchable graphics.
but it didnt work , my graphics wont switch , now im stuck and cant do anything . games wont run properly and ...
    plz help me ,
    tnx in advance

Try to use the driver from MSI download page. The generic driver from AMD support page can't support switchable graphics feature.

  • MSI GE600 SSD Install

Hello there, I'm gonna buy a SSD for my ge600 but i need to know what kind of ssd is compatible with my laptop, i guess sata 3 ssd 2.5" is enough
how to i check my compatibility?

There's a user here that received a response from MSI support stating only Intel SSDs were recommended for the laptops he was inquiring about.  I don't believe the GE600 was one he asked about, but, I will say there are several people on these forums that have better luck using Intel SSDs than other brands.
FYI, responses given here are not official MSI support.  We are all users, including the admins and mods, none get paid.   There are a couple of MSI techs that do post, but they post rarely to the point we can pretty much say that 99.99999% of the responses you will receive are from users.

  • Auto adjust function in MSI VGA drivers 30.00 adjusted mem.clock to 72

I have installed new VGA drivers from MSI v30.00. Under MSI clock tab I found auto adjust function for memory clock. It has adjusted memory clock to 729 MHz on my G4 Ti 4600? What does this function mean?
    My system:
    MSI K7T Turbo 6330 3.0
    1.33 GHz Athlon
    512 MB RAM
    G4 Ti 4600
    80 GB Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm

no idea? Of course I have corrected memory clock back to default value 662 MHz (MSI G4 Ti 4600).

  • MSI Official drivers NVIDIA all GeForce series

    Hello all,
I'm new to this forum & my question is -
I have an MSI NX6800GT-TD256 graphic card (mine must be one of the early ones - hasn't got a fan speed switch)
I am using the NVIDIA VGA Driver 82.65 for Win XP/2000 (Update Date 2006-01-16)
And I wonder if I should be using  "newer" -
NVIDIA VGA Driver 82.12                        (Update Date 2006-02-07)
This info can be seen at -
    http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=driver&maincat_no=130&prod_no=728
You may be wondering what's your problem?
I was under the impression that driver version numbers went up not down.
I know that the "newer driver" is of a later date, but I still wonder....   about the version number also the download for the "newer" is smaller not larger.
You may also think why doesn't he go to the NVIDIA website & download much newer drivers.
Well along time ago when I bought my first graphic card - a Hercules 3D Prophet DDR-DVI (32 mb with NVIDIA GeForce 256 GPU) I was told by the manufacturer that although the standard NVIDIA drivers would work, I would get better results using the card manufacturer's version of that same driver. (It having been tweaked to run better with their card).
My son has the same MSI  graphic card as mine (later version - with switch) & he tried a later version from the NVIDIA website & had problems, & he went back to using 82.65 & everything worked fine.
So after all the above waffle of mine, can someone who really knows the answer to my question tell me -
     82.12 or 82.65 ?
Thank you for reading this & for any help you can give.

Don't want to look dumb, but I have no idea on how to flash from an USB key, could I burn a CD ISO and do the same? Also what are the exact settings of the bios posted in that thread you just told me? I might only need to set voltage to 1013, everything else seems correct.

    Hi pacnow,
Re flash the card which comes with 823MHz with BIOS attached below.
    How to:
    Create a USB key bootable
How to make USB key bootable: http://www.bay-wolf.com/usbmemstick.htm
Then get attached file, and extract & copy all files nvflash.exe, CWSDPMI.EXE and 103.rom
    to the USB key.
Then reboot the computer and boot from the bootable USB key,
when you see A:\ or C:\ type:
    nvflash.exe -b old.rom [ENTER]
Wait process to finish, this will backup/save your current VBIOS.
Then flash the new VBIOS with:
    nvflash.exe -4 -5 -6 103.rom [ENTER]
Wait process to finish, then reboot the machine and you're done

  • New MSI Nvidia drivers 41.07

Just noticed that MSI released it's new Nvidia drivers.  They are using version # 41.07 and have a release date of 2/14/03.  It's supposed to fix the incorrect memory bug in the MSI tab.
Now my question is, what drivers should I use? The Nvidia or the MSI?  I recently downloaded the Nvidia 41.09 drivers and installed them, then did the trick to remove the MSI tab from the display properties.  Why does MSI release it's own version of what appear to be Nvidia drivers?  It really is confusing.....
I may try these MSI drivers because of the problems I've been having getting games to run with the Nvidia drivers. Games like Quake 3 freeze up after only a few seconds. Other may work for a few minutes and then die and rebott my sytem.
    MacBrave
    MSI N7V2-L motherboard

    512mb Crucial PC2700 DDR
    Antec SmartPower 350w PSU
    Windows XP Home

41.07 does not fix the incorrect memory size in the MSI
Tab, infact it is after I installed 41.07 that I first noticed the problem.
I'm using NVidia 41.09 which reports 128 meg.

Display driver amdkmdap stopped responding and has successfully recovered.
http://img4.imageshack.us/f/problempl.png/ <- my event viewer logs
My GE600, Around 5 months old, has been giving me this problem for that period of time. The screen will blackout for around 10 seconds and flash for a few seconds before returning to what i was doing. But now, since i started on a new game that requires alot of power (GTA IV) when this happens, i will get returned to my desktop, and my game will crash. I confirmed that that is the problem - the most recent crash was due to that error.
The voltage when im playing the game is around 64-7x degree Celsius
My GPU Usage has reached a maximum of 100% but im not sure when it was .
Heres a list of things that i had tried:
    Reinstalled Drivers
    Increased Fan Speed
    Scanned for virus
    Installed all latest win7 updates
All Drivers are up to date
    Please assist me. Thanks

  • MSI GE600 and DX11

To start: I'm running with the default (and seemingly only) graphics drivers that work with the ge600. I've also installed DX11 manually through the microsoft site.
I was playing around with the unigine heaven 2.0 and stone giant Directx11 benchmarks today just for the hell of it, and I noticed a few errors that bothered me. After looking at some other sites, it seems like other people might have similar problems too.
The first thing that happened was I can't run unigine heaven in full screen, i get the error message in the picture below. I have no clue what it means and if there is anyway to fix it. As of now no other games/programs have issues running in full screen, so I'm not sure if it's just the program, but it is still
    something that shouldn't be happening.
Secondly, I noticed I can't turn tessellation on. I know my graphics card isn't the best, so it probably wouldn't even run it that well, but I was under the impression that the 5730 at least supported this function, so I should be able to turn it on. After looking at dxdiag, I saw that my DDI version is 10.1 which seems to suggest my card is not running dx11 (which would explain why tessellation doesn't work I suppose). There is a known issue with windows 7 apparently not recognizing dx11 cards/drivers and saying the DDI is 10.1 regardless of what is actually running. However, after applying the hotfix and uninstalling/reinstalling the drivers, dxdiag still says my DDI is 10.1. Seeing that programs don't seem to run in DX11 makes me think that my card is actually only running DX10.1 right now.
Granted, I know I won't be running games at high settings on dx11 with this card, but I hate feeling like something is wrong with my new computer, so if anyone can shed some light on the issue, that'd be great.

  • MSI NX7300LE drivers

    Hello,
I have a MSI NX7300LE video card and installed the drivers from the CD.
MSI Live Update told me I should download and install  an updated (91.31) driver package. Did that last night. 68 mb over dialup :-)
I installed the package and it was old drivers. Much older than what I had. The package came with an ancient-looking Nvidia Control Panel. Also lost my VGA section in DualCoreCenter.
All fixed now by reinstalling the CD package but I was wondering, how did Live Update get this wrong?

Go to nvidias page to install latest drivers. Dont use live update or dual core center.
I'm getting the picture on live update but why not use the dual core center? Is there something wrong with that program?

  • How do I remove MSI Ti4200 drivers?

I installed the latest MSI video card drivers.
But now I want to remove them and install the Nvidia ones.
No matter what I do, I can't seem to remove the MSI drivers completely.
    What's the uninstall procedure?
    Thanks,

    MrMatt,
After you uninstall the MSI drivers, do a search for msicpl.dll and delete it. You will find it in your Windows directory.  That will get rid of the MSI tabs.
    Take Care,
