Re: My laptop makes a lot of noise

Hi, my name is Akram, I am from united states of America.
I have got this Toshiba laptop last year I have all the details its purchased in UK and sold in Saudi Arabia.
Recently from a month my laptop is making a lot of noise may be the fan or processor.
I am a doctor student, I dont really know about it.
The noise is so annoying that I dont carry the laptop to library or to college. Everyone in my class knows once I start using my laptop if I take it, irritated by all the comments made by my friends. I took the laptop for repair, I somehow browsed ur site and got ur Toshiba repair depot.
As I was in warranty till last week, I went to DATA VISION computer services, 39th street, New York City, but to add to my problem the people there said it just cleaned it and said its done. But the problem is the same.
I had to go again then he says all the Toshiba laptops make such noises. Isn't it annoying to know this?
If its true that all Toshiba laptops make such noises I beg you literally.
Please do not manufacture any more laptops, its really irritating to know, and the fellows just trying to convince me,
Nothing is managed at best by Toshiba. I am so unhappy and worring why did I buy this.
There is no management what so ever.
Thanks I hope someone will ever correct the problem, you can contact me on my mail id "[email protected] or [email protected]

Hello Akram
I am sorry to hear you have this problem with your notebook. to be honest it will be interesting to know which notebook model do you have exactly.
I use Toshiba notebooks since year 2000 and I have pretty good experience with them. My first one was old Satellite 3000 later Satellite P20, M70 and now I have two of them Satellite P200 and brand new Satellite A300. None of them was loud.
Just on big Satellite P20 I noticed the same after 2 years of usage but after cleaning everything was OK again. For my work I use Satellite P200 and it is really quiet.
So I am really surprised you got this statement from technicians.
I recommend you to contact some other service and to talk with them. If you have noticed such noise it can be also defective cooling vent. It can happen that small ball-bearing inside is defective and when vent is rotating it makes strange noise. Friend of mine has had this problem on old Tecra M1.
Other way the strange noise can be also because of defective HDD. I had this problem on my old Satellite M70. HDD was defective and when I have started several applications I have heard squeaking sound. After HDD replacement everything was OK.
It is really not easy to say what the problem can be so the best thing you can do is to find serious service provider and ask for help.
Good luck my friend and let us know what you have done with your notebook.

  • Why does my Mac air make a lot of noise with the fan inside?

I bought Mac air one year ago. at the beginning, I satisfied with the product. However, 8 months later, the laptop made a lot of noise from the fan inside. When I I run about 4 or 5 solfwares, it starts warmer and make noise. I feel so unhappy with this. How can I fix it. I bought AppleCare programme for 3 years as well
    Thanks

The mid 2011 MacBook Air fans are pretty quiet but not silent and since they are the only mechanical decice you'll hear - there's no hard drive or DVD drive to make noise - it is possible that what you hear is normal. On the other hand, fans can go bad - bearings fail and dust an make the blades become unbalanced. None of us can help - you'll need to take the computer to a repair center or Apple Store and let an Apple repair person determine if the fans need replacing or not. If so, your warranty will cover the cost.

  • Macbook pro makes a lot of noise when its is on.

Macbook Pro makes a lot of noise when its being used. It is the sound of the processor and it gets very hot at the bottom of the laptop. Any sugestions for why this is happening? Any solutions??

    Hi p,
The CPU doesn't make noise, so it's probably fans you're hearing, which would correspond with the heat you're feeling. Read this link to see if there's a process running too high:

  • USB Soundsticks makes a lot of noise during start+up

I have the old USB connected soundsticks with my mac pro quad 2.88ghz and during startup they make a lot of noise. I have tried switching between the ports on the back, havn't tried connection it on the front yet.
    anyone encountered this?

    Hi thanks for your response
The password I refer to is the laptop password. windows 7 is the origional windows operating version that was preinstalled on the laptop
Once you input the laptop pass word it shows the starting windows screen this is when the bleeping noise starts.

  • My printer HP Officejet pro 8600 plus makes a lot of noise while printing

My HP officejet pro 8600 plus, makes a lot of noise while printing, ink levels are ok, and printing is ok.  it was makiing lines before but not anymore

    Hi,
Check first if the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet.
Check if the carriage is moving freely and there is no obstructions inside the unit.
    Clean the paper rollers once.
See if doing these helps you
    Thanks

    Hello,
Actually, my Mac makes a lot of noise just when I watch this web site :http://football.direct8.fr/live.php. And if I close this page the ventilation remains... I think that it is link to this web site or probably to internet in general, because if just I work with the other software I have no problem... And it is strange because it started just 3 days ago...
Thanks so much for your help,

  • Macbook fan makes a lot of noise, in particular on safari with flash

    Hi,
Whenever I turn on Safari, my macbook starts to make a lot of noise, in particular on sites with flash. I guess this is not normal. I have the latest flash installed and my mac software is up to date. I have a mac with 2G memory attached to a 23" cinema-display. Any suggestions?

Have same problem with mac mini g4. sample site is http://www.wakfu.com/ stay a bit longer and fan noise starts up.
Also, playing flash game makes the fan starts spinning (this never happened some time ago, 2 years and a couple of months before)

My 7515 makes a lot of noise, like gears grinding when printing and resetting itself. Just wondering if this is normal for this machine, or is it not working correctly? Seems to be printing fine (only a couple sheets and two photos so far).

  • Its a brand new mac and it makes a lot of noise...is that normal?

I have the I5 - 2012 model and its just been a few weeks and I hear a lot of noise running in the background. Please advise

The only noise you should be hearing is the fan. Which to be honest can be quite loud when it's working hard. If you want to see how fast your fan is working check out this application it's free.

  • Imac is extremely hot and makes a lot of noise.

I have am iMac of mid 2010. But I've seeing that from a month ago it have slowed its performance, and when I open three or four desktops it starts heating a lot on the top, making a lot of noise, I guess coming from the fans. However, before you could put the palm of your hand and you could resist it, now its too hot. How I can I solve this issue? Thanks for your help!

Not getting into the OP's temp details for the moment (they are very hot, especially the drive), but as far as I know there are now no guaranteed adware free sites to download iStat Pro from. The Apple download site links to the long defunct iSlayer/Bjango. The OP may have installed adware from the iStat Pro download.
For free programs, the best is to offer Temperature Monitor, although it won't show fan speeds without getting the paid Hardware Monitor. (Just noticed TM is no longer being supported by Bresink. The download is still available and probably should work OK on all but the very latest machines.)
Hardware Monitor is still being supported. Latest version 4.98. But even there may not support latest Macs.

  • Does your MacPro make a lot of noise?

Hello, everyone , I got my MacPro 13 inch 3 weeeks ago, and now i have found the fun runs with very very anoying noise. But at first everything was just Ok.
I don't know if this is a "problem" but the fan noise is even louder than my Samsung Laptop brought 4 years ago......
From taking it home ,i have installed Iwork, Skype(when it running ,totally desaster, the temp will go up to 90 degrees...), Office for mac(seldom used) and other small apps. is there any thing wrong?
Without running any big program, just open the Safari, the temp is 50 degrees and the fun speed is NEVER less than 2000rpm, that's why it is really noisy?
i have no idea about this, can someone give me some pointers and i really don't want to send it to service center ........
    Thanks very muchchchchc~

When you use Skype, it will make your mac very hot and the fan will spin very fast, making noise.

It shouln't be noisy at 2000 rpm.  I can't hear my fan when it's at 2000 rpm.  Are you sure what you are hearing are the fan?

  • Optical disk drive has started to make a lot of noise

My PowerBook was opened to inspect a speaker problem. Up until then, the optical disk drive was very silent; when you'd play a CD you could barely hear any noise from or in the drive -- virtually none (excluding the clicking when the disk is inserted and set). But since the time, it was opened, the optical disk drive has become very noisy. When a CD is playing, the drive makes a humming noise plus white noise that is pretty loud and even detracts from the music. The CD itself plays quite perfectly, though.
    The drive is a MATSHITA CD-RW CW-8122.
What may have happened and can it be fixed, and if so, how?

I think the optical drive may not be back in its place correctly, flush with the notebook. The irregularity/unevenness is causing the disc to either rub up against something, or the motors/mechanisms inside the optical drive are making noise due to the irregularity.
    I hope that made sense.
