? re Netflix & BT Youview Purchased Films

I recently subscribed to Netflix for two screens + HD but initially left the overlapping BT Films in place. Netflix works well and if that situation continues for a while I shall consider cutting out the overlapping BTY service I receive ... which includeds films.
However, I have a question; I have purchased a number of films from BT which I have "forever" So can someone tell me the status of those if I do unsubscribe from that bolt on service, namely will I still be able to watch them via a BT Youview archive or will BT provide the HD hard copies of each film I have purchased AND if it is the latter how do I go about organising that so that the whole change is a seamless affair.

The cancellation of Film/TV bolt on has no impact on purchased films. When you purchase a film this is available for viewing on your YouView box, you do not get a hard copy only a digital copy. You can download the BT Purchase app from the Apple store or the Google Play store. These apps give you the option of viewing the films by streaming, or you can download a copy to one device or even download the copy to your computer. This allow you to view any film without Internet access or even abroad. If you leave BT you have to download the file to a device of your choice which you can keep. Hope that assists.

  • Purchased Films Problem !!!!

I have taken the option to purchase films (like that idea) but have identified a problem. At least one film (purchased Feb '14) isn't available in the ''purchased'' partition of the Youview library anymore (to be precise it was visible when i initially looked but vanishes after a few seconds and hasn't returned) Now, I have not been contacted about delivery of the item as yet and always understood it would be available via the "purchased" section of the library until then (and getting the perm copy may take up to 1yr)  ..... so this is not good news ...... it even means you have to go to the trouble of downloading a paper trail of your purchases to provide proof of purchase if the supplier (BTYouview) can't manage the account properly. It also means I have zilch access to the product ....... and means you can't plan ahead .... you know "my daughter said she would like to watch that lets do it Sunday"
I notice the film isn't generally available to customers now so I am thinking ..... well you can guess
Any ideas as to a quick solution here ........... I for one will cease using the purchase option for films until I am convinced thee integrity of the system is sound.

Assuming you'e talking about buying films in the BT Player and not the Sky Store app, you've misunderstood quite a few bits of this.
The film should ALWAYS be available in the Purchased section, you only get the DVD copy if you leave BT.
If a film has gone missing you should be able to make it appear again by doing the following:
    Go to the BT Player
    Select Menu
    Select Help & Settings
    Select Settings
    Select Reset BT TV data

  • Is it possible to burn purchased films from the iTunes Store to a disc?

Is it possible for me to purchase films from the iTunes Store on my iMac and then burn the film to a disc and watch on a DVD player?

No. And even if it were possible nobody here can give you that info!

  • HT1600 how do i move a purchased film in itunes to shared video so i can see it on apple tv

how do i move a purchased film in itunes to shared videos so it links into apple tv

Well, it really depends on the file format your friends are using to send you the video. iTunes will only play certain formats, think of it as........having a car that only takes premium gasoline. If your friends give you a million gallons of regular gasoline, sure it's gasoline, but it won't work in your car. (That's a bad analogy but it's the best I can come up with).
So, if you open up your mail (are you using the Mail program on your computer, or going to a website such as gmail.com or yahoo.com to access your mail?), you should be able to right click the video and select to download it.
This should download it to your "downloads" folder, it should be on your dock if you didn't remove it. Click it, and select the "More in finder" button at the very top of the "stack".  If not, click the "Finder" button on your dock, and on the left click the Downloads tab.
Now, you must find the video. It should have the name of the video with the extension (an example would be...... firstbirthday.mp4). The extension is the ".mp4" part. Yours may be .mov, .mp4, .mkv, .avi, the list goes on and on, but it's very important.
You can try dragging the movie into iTunes (drag it anywhere over where it says Music, Movies, TV Shows, etc.) and it should hopefully turn to a little green bubble with +1. If the extension is not compatible, then, converting will be needed and that's a bit more tricky. It's also a little more tricky to get them to play on your Apple TV unless you use AirPlay.
Let us first know what extension these videos are in and we can go from there.

  • Downloading purchased films

I have purchased films on itunes then I moved where I was storing my itunes library and I lost some of my films but when I look at the purchased list the films aren't there. So I went onto the store to one of the films I lost I click download and it pops up witht the 'You have already purchased' this film so I click continue and another thing pops up with 'You have purchased this before would you like to purchase it again'. Do I continue or what?

Films are currently a one-time only download, so if you download them again then you will charged again. Have you not got a backup copy of them anywhere ?

I have just synced my iPod touch with a new pc and cloud, all is well except I no longer have my purchased films and cannot find them. What do I do?

If they are not on the iPod or on the computer they are gone and you will have to repurchase them if you want to play them again. Movies are not one of the categories of iTunes purchases allowed for a free redownload.

  • Purchased films not available on BT Vision+, custo...

I have a problem with my BT TV service.  I have both a BT Vison+ box and a You View box, so I pay for the multi box option.  I have made several purchaes (NOT rentals) of films but they do not appear in the My Purchases list on the BT Vision+ box, but they are available on the YouView box.  When I sign in to www.tvpurchaseshome.bt.com with my account I can see the five films that I own, however they are not avilable on my BT Vision+ box.  I called customers services and got through to a foreign call centre where they clearly did not undertsand what I was trying to explain, I got cut off and called them back and spoke to another foreign gentleman who again did not appear to understand what I was telling him.  He seemed to think that regardless if it was a purchase or a rental the film would only be available for 48hrs, this is clearly not the case but he would not listen or allow me to speak to anyone else.  Since I can;t seem to just call a UK call centre to discuss this I have resorted to sending an email to customer services, tweeted them to call me back and now I'm posting on here in the hope that SOMEONE will talk to me and understand the problem.  Could an admin please contact me to discuss? I'm very frustrated with this, and being unable to be understood and have my problem understood and fixed is really annoying.

    Hi morrison1976,
In answer to your question, you can only watch your purchases on the box you made the purchases on.
Can I watch a film I've purchased on my extra box if I purchased it on my main box?
You can only watch your purchases on the box you made your purchase, so you won’t be able to buy it on one box and watch it on an extra box. If you want to watch your purchases elsewhere you can watch them on a smartphone, tablet or computer.
That's an FAQ taken from this page (It's the very last one)
    All the best,

  • Purchased film on iPad but its not showing on Home sharing after downloading to iTunes?

Hi all, I have recently purchasd Men In Black from itunes using my iPad 2 and downloaded it to my Mac. However when i went to watch it on Apple TV 2 its no where to be seen. I've checked the movie folder and its there above Men In Black 2, its still on my iPad and plays ok and it also plays ok on my Mac. What I don't understand is:
    1. Why can't I see the film on Apple TV 2 despite it being in the same folder as my other movies?
    2. Why doesn't the film show up when i plug my iPhone 4 in to put it on there?
    3. The film doesn't show up on my iPad 2 when plugged into iTunes either even though its already on the device?
The only difference I can see is that the file is .ite and not .m4v , but then wheres the file i downloaded to my ipad or have I just wasted my money on a film with limtied sharing on my own account?
    Cheers

    Hi OP
Did this sort your problem? I have the same one too. Purchased tracks on my iPad not showing up on MBP or iPhone. Itunes wants to charge me for it againa dn again!

  • Purchased Films no longer available to watch on Apple TV

    Ill Manors
I have turned my Apple TV on to watch the above film which I purchased at £13.99 and have found this has been removed from the apple store and I can no longer watch this. How is this possible if I own the film?
But I have purchased this for £13.99 and now it has gone? If I have paid for it how can the studio or apple take the film away from me? I purchase all my films through Apple TV, but if I had known this would happen I would not have bought any! Over the last few years I have invested heavily in iTunes for films on the basis that I own the films as they say purchase, but this is clearly not purchasing it's more like an expensive hire!!!
This is as bad as me buying a bluray copy and having a thief breaking into my home and stealing it.
    How can this be allowed??
Also I only have an iPhone, iPad and Apple TV. I have bought into the Apple iCloud ethos, but it appeared to have let me down. Honestly I do not expect to pay for something that May or may not disappear for reasons out of my control.  Someone at Apple needs to make due consideration towards this as the service has a major fault! We are in an age of cloud based services so the suggestion of backing up purchases is not acceptable especially when the Apple TV doesn't offer a hard drive option or even upgrade.
I have also just tried to watch Anuvahood of which again I purchased for £13.99. This has also been removed. How many more films will disappear? If you don't have indefinite licence from the studio how can you offer these movies as anything other than a rental?? I have spent thousands of pounds with Apple and I'm beginning to feel very unhappy with the whole service. When I buy something I do not expect it to disappear.
I wish to understand apples long term plans regarding offing purchases on Apple TV as I have bought another Apple TV recently and I do not see this as a realistic option at present.

That really does only tell me that the Apple TV is not a complete product. Something along the lines of buy films from us using your cloud based tv solution but you also have to buy a computer and an obscenely large hard drive to protect your purchases.
Again as I have previously stated the iCloud Apple TV ethos around movies is flaud. Still the movies on the Apple TV say buy(that means I own them).
Why once removed are we not informed?
I hope you don't work at apple as I have just added up my entire itunes account purchases and they equate to over £15k. Terms or no terms and back up or no back up, I purchased them on a extended rental.
How many more films may fall under this same situation? I have 415 films today, how many tomorrow?

  • My Macbook has been stolen & i'm trying to load the Purchased films from my ITunes account onto my new Macbook. How do i do this?

My Macbook has been stolen & i'm trying to load films which i'd purchased on it from my itunes a/c onto my new Macbook.
    How do i do this?

You can't, unless you have a backup of your old computer's drive..
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519 - enabled with iTunes 10.3 and newer; not available in all countries; only apps, books (not audiobooks), music, and t.v. shows (not movies).  Discontinued items not available. For items not included in the iCloud list, or locations or computer systems where iCloud is not (yet?) available, you only get one download per fee paid.  Apple notes it is your responsibility to back up your purchases.
