How about the random pausing when streaming a movie from itunes that was converted from a DVD? I know myself, and, a few others from what i can see are experiencing this same issue. Anyone else?

My model is a dv7-1245dx. The processor speed is 2.10GHz. Video Graphics is a ATI HD 3200 Graphics RS780M. It has a 17.0" Diagonal WXGA+high def. HP BrightView Wide screen. Memory 4096MB with a max of 8192MB. Video Mem. up to 1918MB dimensions 15.59(W)x11.2(D)x1.31(min H)1.66(Max H). I have Altec Lansing speakers but no sub-woofer which I would prefer to have. What other information should I have to determine what MB and CPU I could install in my current case?

well it has many factors including wether the new and improved motherboard will your be fit into your current laptop , ,i think there is possibility ,but remember replacing your motherboard means replacing your gpu as well .....including ram if the new motherboards supports

SiriusDecisions launched their new and improved Demand Waterfall this week at their Summit in Scottsdale, Arizona. For those of you who haven't seen it yet, I have attached the PDF for your viewing pleasure. What do you think? What's strong? What's weak? Do you agree with Tony Jaros that teleprospecting is a required step in the Marketing Qualification process?

It makes a lot of sense from our perspective. Our sales organization has always generated the bulk of our leads, so it makes sense to account for them and to build programs to support them. It was a great conference - my first SiriusDecisions Summit. I came away both energized and overwhelmed.
Our Inside Sales team qualifies almost all inquiries via telephone, so it makes sense to me that "teleprospecting" is a required step. The only exceptions are sales-generated leads, so the waterfall reflects that perfectly.
What I like most about the new waterfall is that it creates a clear structure for us to focus more on developing lead nurturing and pipeline acceleration programs specifically for teleprospecting- and sales-generated leads. I'll admit that we've neglected this (simply including those contacts in our marketing-generated lead nurtures). Furthermore, it reinforces the need to tailor nurtures to the buyer's stage in the buying process. We tend to move all of our contacts through the same campaign and nurture activities as if they're progressing together, which obviously isn't the case.
I'd be interested in learning how other Eloqua users are getting data back from their CRM on a contact who has turned into a qualified lead. How do you find this information out? Do you then put them through an individual nurture that is focused on accelerating the deal?

New and improved panels (display) for the Tx20 and Wx20 series or just the X220 series?

Lenovo surly impressed us with the specifications with their new Lenovo ThinkPad X220-series notebook, not only does it feature great performance and battery life but suddenly they've gone away from the rather sluggish TN-panels they've been using for the past few years and given us a high-quality IPS option for those whom care about display quality.
Now the million dollar question is whether they'll do something about the display panel quality on their other ThinkPad line-ups or is just something happening on the X220 series? Personally the ThinkPad T420s is more appealing than the ThinkPad X220 simply because of the size being somewhat too small for my use, id like to opt for the T420s instead because that assures me more space for my hands to rest, a not too small screen along with a few other things.
I wasn't really planning on going ThinkPad this year because the display quality of my ThinkPad T400s and ThinkPad W510 has been a complete joke. Whereas the 1920x1080 panel on the W510 is doing okay it's still a rather low-contrast panel without barley anything impressive about it and when it comes to the display quality of the T400s it's downright disappointing with it's low-contrast, limited viewing angle screen.
So when I had finally decided to look elsewhere Lenovo drops the X220 with good hardware, battery life and most importantly a IPS panel option I was happily surprised and considering I love everything about the ThinkPad series besides the sluggish speakers and display quality I'm ready too pick up yet another ThinkPad series notebook if Lenovo finally offers some improved quality on their display offerings.
But would it be too much to hope for seeing improvements in regards of the display on the T and W series as well or do you think this is a X220 series only thing? And I guess we wont see anything higher resolution than 1366x768 which even though it's IPS quality is somewhat low resolution when I'm used to 1920x1080 on my W510 for instance.

I figured IPS is not going to happen this year, but as the new T420 and T420s is 16:9 compared to last years T410 and T410s and the T400 and T400s before that 16:10 screens there must be some new panels coming this time around?
Lets just hope it's not the same low contrast TN-panels like before as there is no doubt that you can get TN-panels that are way better than what Lenovo has been using for the past years.

I can't justify buying another item from Lenovo, nor recommend their brand to anyone. I'd really like to just return everything, but I'll still be charged ... so, I guess I'm screwed and will just have to make do!This isn't an excuse, but you shouldn't trust sales reps online. Pretty much every company hires the dumbest idiots off the street and doesn't teach them anything except how to look up promotional material you can already see yourself. I have yet to see a competent online sales rep that had a clue about what they were selling.

Missing / deleted history - 'New and improved' releases add new features, improved (?) function, but eliminate some options and browsing history...

This has been a problem ever since updating from Firefox 8 to FF 10. I noticed that there was about a month missing from my history after that update. Checking my settings in 'about:config', there was no change in 'browser.history_expire_days_min' or 'browser.history_expire_days.mirror'. The value has been set at '720' ever since installing FF 3.6 over three years ago.
Admittedly, I don't install new updates the moment they become available... However, every time that I've installed an update, more and more of my history simply vanishes. Not a few days or weeks, mind you. but 3, 6, and even 9 months of history GONE!
I just don't understand why this option was eliminated from Privacy Preferences, forcing users to tinker with the settings in 'about:config' instead. Since users are given a warning before going on to the settings page, why would any programmer think this is a good alternative to the Preferences pane???
Now I'm down to history for February and March of this year... You can bet that I'm not going to be updating to any new releases for a very long time, if ever.
It seems that 'software bloat' isn't a 'Microsoft-only' disease...
New 'features' + 'improved' perfomance = New demands for disk space + improved glitches...

Not sure if it is relevant but the structure of the places.sqlite database changed recently, and jumping all the way from fx3.6 to fx18 or 19 could conceivably have been a factor. It is best to keep Firefox up-to-date.
Glad at least that you keep backups.
History backups are slightly problematic, because if the places.sqlite database is backed up and restored to an old copy the bookmarks then regress. As you will be aware already, Firefox itself makes no History backups, and has no facility to restore History only.

New and Improved Micros? (w/o Charg

I bought a black micro a few weeks ago, but the 'back' button was touchy, so i took it back. The new one I got came without the case, belt clip and stand, all of which I would never use anyway. It also came without charger though. I can still charge it through the USB port, but I'm not always by my computer. What I noticed though is that the newer one had a brighter screen and the clicker was much louder. Also, on my older micro, you could see some light around the headphone jack, which isn't visible on the new one. I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed this. Are these fixes, a new, improved version of the micro? Anybody know anything?

CL has done what Apple has done, just dropped some accessories from the item to keep the price down. There are some older units out there that still come with the a/c charger and belt clip, etc., there are even some limited editions out there that have 2 batteries. depends on what the store has in stock. the newer units do not have the accessory package.
however, there is no PROOF that there is any difference in the headphone jack. there is, however, a lot of speculation. if you search the threads for headphone jack, you can read allllllllll about it.

ThinkPad S-Series Shipping Thread

Ordered an S440 with a few upgrades on the 15th, and was wondering when everyone else got theirs? Ordering to the UK, and I haven't seen many threads that have orders being delayed etc. so I think I may have got it lucky and ordered one that doesn't have inventory issues or such.

Just ordered a S431 today (we don't have S440 in Canada yet). Yesterday it would take "more than 4 weeks" to ship as soon as I upgraded to the HD+, today it was "less than 7 days". Not sure what changed.

Is there any way to email photos without having to use the themes? I just want to send them from my email the way you used to be able to without all this "new and improved" nonsense.

In the old iPhoto, if I wanted to email pictures, I would select the ones I wanted, have them sent as "smaller" to make them easier to process, and iPhoto would open my mail and I could type the names and I wanted and off they'd go. And, I'd have a copy saved in my "sent" folder.
Now, you have to deal with these ridiculous themes and in order to get a copy of your sent, you have to blind cc yourself. This is definitely not an improvement in my mind.
So I ask, is there any way around this or am I stuck? I really like iPhoto, but this is enough to send my back to Picasa.

When you turn iMessage off and then back on again, is it completely activating? If not, then turn off iMessage, wait a few minutes, then turn it back on. If it activates, it pulls your phone number from your SIM and account. If it activates, you go into those same settings and set the Send & Receive.
