  • Question about sony NFC tags

    Hi every body,
I have a little question about the NT1 smart tags of sony.
I installed other app from google play to NFC tags in my phone.
I installed it, because the smart tag app of sony, don't have the action to turn on or turn off the GPS by NFC tag.
When I used with other app, and I written on the blue smart tag, I mark to became the blue smart tag to read only.
So, now I can't to write on him, and the phone is not recognazied the blue smart tag ( all other smarts tags is OK, because I didn't used them ).
When I scan the blue smart tag, the phone show a message: "unknown type tag".
Am I can cancelled it and became it back? that's mean that the phone is recognaized it and I can to write on it?
Or, is it one way, and I can't used with the blue smart tag again?
    Thank you.

  • Where are the T440s NFC drivers for windows 7?

There are NFC drivers for windows 8, but none listed for windows 7. Is this something that will be corrected soon, or is it just not supported on windows 7?

Download the pdf version of the manual.
Much easier to find stuff than the online version.

  • Using smart card/nfc tag for authentication on Windows 8 devices NOT in a domain

Title says it all. We have Sony RC-S380 readers and Acer Iconia W510 tablets with builtin Broadcom NFC chips. We can read tags and configure them for the usual proximity stuff (URIs, mail, etc.) but we are looking for authentication purposes, however without
using ADFS or domain security. Can anyone point us in the right direction?

    Hi,
By default, smart card is not available for stand alone computer and local account.
This authentication technology might be helpful to you:

  • Satellite U920T-100: NFC Win 8.1 driver doesn't load

    Hi,
as I know the 920T -100 has NFC possibilities ... but I can't install the drivers from support page.
While trying, the allow change pops up, yes and then nothing happens.
I have unpacked the package with 7zip and started the setup, it is checking the system and its all ok and it ends with a warning there was a script fault.
I have tried to find the Intel NFC Software Kit, but cant find.
    Any help for me?
    Regards Heinz

    >I have a PSUL1E and it is offering the NFC Driver for download at Toshiba Pages
The Satellite U920T-100 (PSUL1E-00500NGR released in Germany) as well as the U920T-117 (PSUL1E-02900JEN) belongs to the same series PSUL1E and therefore you can find the NFC driver in the driver list. But this does not mean that all notebooks which belongs to PSUL1E are equipped with NFC chip.
    > For my understanding it is integrated in the Intel Pro Chip
No, both notebook models U920T-100 and U920T-117 support the same Intel WLan card (Intel bgn Jackson Peak1 chip) but only U920T-117 supports NFC
In case your Sat U920T-100 would be equipped with NFC, you should find the device in device managerbut I guess you cant

  • ALERT: CVS disabled NFC terminal to block Apple Pay in support of other Moblie payment systems

CVS has shut down their NFC machines in an attempt to block Apple Pay and Google wallet to support QR code wallet system with other major retail partners like Walmart and BestBuy.
Their technology not even close to being secure. Be sure to file complaints to CVS customer relations online. Just an FYI for you Apple pay folks who are trying to pay in CVS. It won't work. Lol. Plenty of articles online about it. Just a heads up for all you Apple Pay enthusiast.

I filed my complaint Friday with CVS due to the Retailer's own interest driving the Merchant Customer Exchange CurrentC Mobile Payment Product.  The Retailers primary focus is to reduce their payments to Visa and MasterCard.  The CurrentC Mobile Payment System is cumbersome at the Point-of-Sale, require QR Codes to be scanned by the Store Clerk or the Customer.  A second major focus of CurrentC is to collect personal information about the Customer for use in Retailer Marketing, unfortunately this data even includes personal Health Data.  I don't see Consumers flocking to the Retail Arena to use CurrentC.  The CurrentC Mobile Payment System began design and development back in 2011, but is not to market as yet.

  • Nokia Charging Stand NFC does not work on 920

I just received my Nokia Charging Stand DT-910 to go with my ATT Nokia 920.
    1) I ordered the black stand.  The stand and proprietary cord are black, but that huge AC charger is actually white.  I can't believe that they didn't match the color on such an expensive accessory.
    2) The actual NFC functionality does not work for me on the 920.  Yes, when I tap the 920 to the base of the stand, I correctly get the NFC popup, and when I accept it takes me to what is obviously the Nokia software.  The screen is titled "Charging Stand", and it starts on the Set Up page.  It shows a diagram of the charging stand.  The problem is that this app hangs.  The progress dots on the top of the screen never stop moving.  And the list where I am supposed to choose the application to open stays greyed out and never responds.  It just continues hung like this forever, or on one occasion the phone rebooted itself.
Is there a fix for this?  The software hang is making my stand useless in terms of it's NFC functionality....

You can actually get to more support options from that link, like here, http://www.nokia.com/us-en/support/contact/ which offers chat and phone numbers. Not sure what could happen in this case though, as there just seems to be some issues in the NFC implementation. Seems it varies a bit between devices, but overall has some issues. I would guess the number of folks with a wireless charge capability, that also know about this forum is probably small, but I'm sure the issue will gain some visibility as more folks give it a try. As I said I got it past the streaming dots and selected an app to launch, but now I have the interminably slow app launch. The same app that springs up instantaneously from the start or program menu, takes 5-10 minutes to launch when initiated via the NFC tap. I've just turned this off for now, as I expect some software update at some point. I have done some other NFC stuff with marginal success. Tapping the charging base to start an app is not a make or break feature for me. If it is for you, contact Nokia directly, rather than through this user forum.

  • NFC payments (Timme Me app) on PlayBook 10.3.1 not working as well as Z30 10.3.1

I've been using my Passport as my daily driver since launch, but one thing I missed about it was that NFC payments with the Timme Me app have been problematic / spotty: many times it fails completely and I have to resort to using the "barcode" like a commoner (i.e. "iphone user" :-P)
I reverted to my Z30 since it got the 10.3.1 update and as it was before I switched, the NFC payment works first time, every time.
Is there something about NFC on 10.3.1 on the Passport in particular that is somehow "different" than NFC on the Z30?
NFC seems to work for other use cases like browsing on my Z30 and holding the device back to back with my Passport opens the associated web page on my Passport, so I think the NFC chip itself is working... but I can't figure out why it's so problematic  on my Passport, and really do want this to work. It is very frustrating to be on the express train to the future of mobile payments and get stared at because I'm holding up the line with the equivalent of being on that express train playing my music too loud. It's just rude!
Is there a solution for this, either possible or in the works... or is it my hardware?

I may be wrong, but I believe NFC payment is enabled in the SIM card, while other NFC functions are direct between devices.  Since you're using two different SIMs it may be that the SIM in your passport is defective. If you have a Nano-Micro carrier, you could insert your Passport SIM in the Z10 and see. Or buy a new SIM (usually ~$5) and try that.

  • 4.1.2 update and NFC?

I recently updated to the new version of 4.1.2, and in the description of the new enhancements, it says that NFC is now easier to turn on. Not only do I see no changes in the NFC, but now the notification bar doesn't even show when it is turned on. I also read that there is supposed to be a toggle switch to turn it on and off in the task manager bar, but there is none? So where are the changes for NFC?

Hi alecrobs. I hope you're enjoying all the rest of the fantastic improvements the recent S3 update provided. The update had two great NFC related. The first was the addition of the premium suite feature for Auto Share Shotwhere you can connect two devices in Share Shot mode with S Beam. It also addressed the difficulties some were experiencing turning on this fabulous feature. For all the great benefits the Verizon Wireless version has, please visit http://vz.to/ON56bT. You should still be able to turn on NFC the same way as before the update, http://vz.to/1aVvNF2. If you continue to have trouble, try removing/reinserting the battery to refresh the phone. Much like a computer, the phone may need to be reset with the installation of new software.

  • NFC not working

Starting this week, my Z10's NFC seems to not be working. It was working last Friday, as I made a purchase using the TimmyMe app's NFC payment. I tried to do the same thing again on Tuesday and the signal was not being sent. I tried with a completely different payment terminal (at a different store, normally it would send the card number and the terminal would report back "card not supported") and it still was not working.
I've tried hard resets, uninstalling and reinstalling that app, tried using different apps, checked the permissions on the app, turned NFC on and off, took my case off (which has never stopped NFC before, but I thought I would try), I took the backplate off and reseated it as well. So far nothing has resulted in NFC working again.
If there are any suggestions or if anybody else has heard of this issue, please let me know. Thanks in advance!
    My info: Z10STL100-3/10.2.1.1925 on Bell.

For me it seemed to resolve itself after the update to 10.2.1.2141.

  • How do you know if your SIM card is an NFC capable card?

I recently had to get a new SIM card, but I didn't pay attention to know if it was an NFC type card. Is there any way to find out via MyVerizon account or with the SIM card number itself?

I'd be happy to help you with options for figuring out if you have an NFC SIM Ann154! This is something that customer service can confirm for you. Please follow & DM, and I'd be happy to check your information and determine if your SIM is NFC capable.

  • Nokia 500 symbian belle w/ NFC support?

Well the Nokia "Store" seems to think that the Nokia 500 has "NFC SUPPORT"... Please take a look at this link:
It clearly states there the folllowing:
     - "Simply perform the NFC handshake with another Nokia 500, 600 or 700 to unlock content."
So I don't know if whoever posted it up was trying to mislead people who own the Nokia 500 into buying their application and make them think that the software will "enable" NFC on the device.... Or just a "typo"?
It probably was a marketing strategy..... "me thinks"...

  • Why is the NFC option on the newer T models gone?

I'ved looked closely at the spec sheet and all options, and correct me if I'm wrong, but NFC is not an option anymore. Why? More and more ultra low budget phones and tablets come with NFC, so it seems very unlikely that cost savings is a factor.
Why I would really miss NFC for my possible future laptop is for security reasons. Current biometric technologies are just not safe/reliable enough, and typing and remembering good passwords is just cumbersome. NFC on the other hand is much more versatile and secure, as you obviously can use multiple NFC cards for multiple complex and long passwords. And to boot the option of being able to combine NFC, biometrics and/or typing a password for two or three factor authentication would be very desirable to have. Again, due to NFC being quite inexpensive to build in, this is an uncessary step backwards.
If the NFC option is either hidden, or is for some reason not yet listed for the newer models (but will be), than please do tell. If both are not the case, than I really really hope that Lenovo reconsiders offering the NFC option again when the future Skylake revisions can be purchased.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I wouldn't bother too much about the missing NFC option, because there is actually nothing you can do with the build in Broadcom NFC device. I've got a T540p with NFC but the driver just installs a useless NFC-Proximity-Device instead of providing proper PC/SC drivers and there is no Software which can use it (for Windows 7). Just search this forum for "NFC" and you won't find any reasonable answers to questions about what to do with this strange NFC-like device. For Win8 Lenovo provides the "QuickConnect NFC Utility" which could easily win any "most useless tool" award.
In short: this NFC device isn't only cheap, but also worthless and now it seems to be gone which is a good thing. Buy an external contactless cardreader if you want to have a usable NFC device!

how to do the connection for NFC in j2me emulator. If anyone has already work on this project kindly help me to figure out the problem, and please shared me if you have any demo code related to this project. Thanks

Just to clarify - in the USA, ATT/3G (GSM) models need a micro-SIM; Verizon (CDMA) models don't
In other countries, the great bulk of providers use GSM (and so will need a micro-SIM). CDMA tends to be concentrated in Asia (there's no hard and fast rule)
I don't know whether any CDMA providers outside the USA support the iPhone yet.
