If you have not received amber update, first check your firmware version which should not be at 0001.
As today my handset received update for firmware 0002 and now I saw amber update.
So, just wait for you handset to be updated to firmware version 0002 through OTA and then you will get AMBER update.
You can also escalate if you havenot received the update.

today i got a update of firmware from 1030.6407.1308.0001 to 1030.6407.1308.002..in morning..
confi Id also changed to 249100 from 146943..
after that i got the amber update....
Glance, Data Sense, Sms & call filter, touch sensitivity..lol

AT&T Amber Update Lumia 920

I was the first person in my state to have a white 920. It was the only one available according to the rep, to the dismay of everyone in line behind me. (I was first in line at the store ) I have been amazingly pleased with the updates, in both speed of release and quality. Up til now.
My girlfriend liked my phone so much that she bought the 928 when it came out for verizon. But she has received the Amber update. Its been about a month since she has updated her phone to Amber but according to AT&T, its still waiting for approval!!!
I understand that it is up to the carrier to release the update, but it is leading me to believe that either AT&T is dropping priority of Windows Phone or something isnt right with the update. They used to roll out updates almost immediately. I know i'm being impatient, but it is already early September, the latest that we were supposed to get the update. It is almost mid September.
What's the hold up? Is Nokia fixing issues that were causing problems on AT&T's network, or is the priority of WP slipping?

It is September 27,and AT&T still has not released the Amber update. This isn't news to anybody waiting for the update, but I want to state the facts. Nokia released a statement that all Lumia handsets would receive the update by September 30th, which gives big blue 3 more days to release the update before stated timeframe expires. It also give Nokia 3 days to address any possible issues with the update that might delay the release further. At this point, I continue to hold out hope that one or the other occurs.
However, if neither the update is released by AT&T, nor another public statement is issued by Nokia regarding delays by the 30th of September, you will start to see posts on every public forum and social media available slamming BOTH companies for not supporting their customers.
These are the facts.
If anyone from Nokia or AT&T cares to respond, consider this a formal request.

You cant update if your carrier has not approved it or its not available in your region.

I have Preview for Developers installed which updated me to 8.1. Now I'd like to revert so I can use the regular update process. I'm tried the Nokia Recovery Tool, which downloaded the update file, but then claims a 0x80131500 error and that the phone needs to be recovered. In fact, the phone is just fine. No need to recover it -- the tool just won't do it's thing. It's a 620 (RM-846_apac_indonesia_217) running 3056.40000.1404.0003 firmware. Is this just somehow unsupported, even though it tries?

It responds just fine though! That's the thing. It reports a locked up phone that needs to be restored, but meanwhile the phone is fine. When the process starts, the phone shows the NOKIA bootloader, then it reboots and the restore app says to unlock it. It just never actually changes anything on the phone.

Lumia 620 - Trouble in getting Amber updates.

As we have almost reached end of September and most of us are yet to get Amber update on 620 via OTA.
Anyone has got Amber updates so far via OTA in India (Chennai)? If yes, what is the FW version number? Is it 1030.6407.1308.0001 or 1030.6407.1308.0002?
I have read in some forums that Amber updates are avialble for 1030.6407.1308.0002 FW version. Is that true? What is the difference between 1030.6407.1308.0001 and 1030.6407.1308.0002?
If it is really true, how can we update our FW to 1030.6407.1308.0002? Whenevr I check for updates it shows that my phone is already up to date (Hate to see this )
Not sure what to do.

You will get it but I guess its rolling out bit by bit. Amber update error 8018830f on Lumia 620

My Lumia 620 has an avalaible amber update, but it seems that my lumia can open the update after it was downloaded.
I get the error message 8018830f - the download is downloaded, but the device can NOT open it.
Can someone help me or give me some advice what I should do?
(I tried to reboot my phone to factory settings, but i still get the error message)

Try the following steps:
1. Go to Settings > Language+region.
2. Tap the Phone language.
3. Select a new language (Make sure that you're familiar with the language).
4. Download the language pack and then restart the phone.
5. After that, retry to update your phone by going to Settings > Phone updates.

Amber update for Lumia 620 in India

Hi I am a proud Lumia 620 user from Chennai, India. This site shows that the update is avaiable for my model but when i check in Phone Update in my phone it is not showing any update available for my phone. If your device is having FW version 1030.6407.1308.0001 , then it won't show update notification (I don't know why).
On the other hand, If you got an FW version 1030.6407.1308.0002, your phone will show the amber update notification if you check it through phone updates (in settings menu).
There is a way to get around this:
Get to Nokia Care and update to FW version 1030.6407.1308.0002 or amber FW 3046.0000.1329.2001

it is september 30 ,(end of sept) as they promised they said that they will make sure that Amber update reaches every lumia phone's but lumia 620 didnt receive any update upto now, its very disappointing.the update is much awaitied phone has lot of problems, so plzz make sure that it reaches to phone soon

From what Ive googled, others have been able to hardwire Amber into their 620s..only to find out FM Radio and Tap to Wake isnt support, but what is supported is more color saturation (to get deeper colors like 800's amoled display) and clock always on.

Lumia 620 (Amber) does not find a Bluetooth 4.0 he...

I purchased a BT4 heart rate monitor (Polar H6) after my Lumia 620 got the Amber update as the update promised to bring BT4 support to my phone. On the Nokia specifications page for my phone also states that Lumia 620 supports "Bluetooth 4.0 + LE". However, my phone does not find the heart rate monitor and I cannot pair the devices. It does find older bluetooth devices and the heart rate monitor worked fine on my friends iPhone.
Is there really support for BT4 LE in Lumia 620? Has anyone gotten Lumias to work with BT4 devices?

Go to settings-->extras+info .. What do you see at the top ? Does it show you 'Lumia Amber' as seen in the attachment or not ? If yes, you already have the latest update.
BTW, the Application you have mentioned only updates the 'System applications' and not the Phone software ...which can be updated only thru settings-->phone update-->check for updates. If it shows any availability of update then follow the instructions displayed..
