Re: No Android Search for Corporate / MS Exchange Email?  TouchDown / other apps?

If you go into your inbox, you should have a magnifying glass at the bottom along with the new mail icon, folder select, refresh and options.  The magnifying glass will let you search your emails.  Not sure why the main Google Search function will not search emails, but I have used the search function from within my Corporate Exchange Mailbox.  The search is not perfect, but it seems to search within emails, subject lines and email addresses.

I am on a VZ Galaxy Nexus stock version 4.0.2.  I do have the magnifying glass when I am in my corporate email account connected to my exchange server.  Strange thing is I just checked my two hotmail accounts that are set up as corporate accounts so I can use push for those, but neither of these accounts have the magnifying glass. 
I checked the settings for each account, but dont see any differences.  I will keep searching to see if I can identify why the one account has the search funtionality but the others do not.
Long story short it is available, just have to determine what causes the difference.

    You can see if you can add the Corporate Email to searchable Items. To get there, press on the Google search bar at the top of the screen, then press menu (three stacked dots), then press Settings, then press Searchable Items

    When I send an email to multiple people, I can see 9 address's, and if I have more, the screen does scroll up/down to see the rest..
    To use quick replies, when you are at your inbox, long press the email you want to reply to on quick replies. That will bring up a menu and quick replies are the first item in the list. I did not find a way to do it from inside the email
    Check your settings in advanced settings.
    Are you using a polling schedule or push? Mine is set for push
    Do you have Update Contact changes to Phone checked? Mine is unchecked
    Do you have include Phone Contacts in picklist checked? Mine is unchecked
    I have not seen a problem with other apps being sluggish after installing Touchdown. You might want to check the advanced settings listed in item 3 above to see if one of those settings might help.
    My installation of touchdown is configured through work with MobileIron. This is the only configuration allowed by my work. We are not allowed to use the Native Corporate email app, but I would rather use Touchdown instead.
    We used to use Good for Enterprise which was an excellent app for corporate email. That worked well, but we switched to Touchdown since Good was not compatible with Exchange 2010 which we are transitioning too. I liked Good for Enterprise because they had decent widgets for Gingerbread. It also gave me the ability to turn on the Out of Office from my phone which Touchdown doesn't do (at least I have not found anything for that in the settings). Good was also configured by MobileIron too.
    Hope this answers your questions. As for you don't have time to learn more about it, its like any other app on the phone, or program on your computer. The more time you can take to learn it, the more you can do with it

    I've added more detail about the error, this server is exactly how I initially installed it. This was a clean install not a migration so Exchange was a new installation. I have not applied any service packs as I did not want to confuse matters
    or compound the issue. I was wondering whether to install Server 2008 Service Pack 1 & the Exchange Service Packs. I will check the event logs & report back with what I find.

    I am trying to filter through my inbox to find emails that have been sent 'on behalf of' someone else. However I cannot seem to find a method of searching for these emails in the advanced search area.
    Could any one suggest a method of search an inbox to only see emails that have been sent 'on behalf of' another email address.

    Unfortunately, there is no method to filter the 'on behalf of' messages out.
    However, if you want to filter the messages which someone sent 'on behalf of' a specific address, we can do this with Outlook rule. Create an Outlook rule with specific words

    You could try disabling IMAP on your email client website and then adding a POP account for your email on your phone. I know GMAIL allows you to disable IMAP on the website.

    It's my first time writing here and i hope i can get some help ... i have created a payroll system using java and jsp techniques and mysql as the database, i want to create a backup page that will let the use to choose the destination folder for the back up, the backup is basically a mysqldump command that will get the destination folder as an argument and create the sql file there. the problem is i couldn't find anyway to let the user browse his local machine and choose the folder , which in returns return the folder path to be used in mysqldump....
    I know that html have <input type=file> but it's used for selecting file not folder...

    I use an exchange account on my Q10 and there is two huge problems about it. - the remote search will find email that are at most 60 days old, anything older can't be found on the Q10. I have added the same exchange account to my iPad and iPhone 5 where I can search for several year old email. - the "deleted items" folder won't sync on the Q10. So whenever I delete an email on any device (including the Q10) it gets moved to deleted items. But the Q10 where the folder is empty because it does not sync. (Issue has been confirmed from several people on crackberry forums)

  • How can you search for outlook email folders quickly?

    I am connected to my work outlook email system and within outlook I have circa 500+ folders. From the iPhone you can see all the folders in the email account but the list is (a). expanded {which makes the list huge} and (b). there appears to be no facility to search for a folder.
    Normally in other areas of the iphone OS, obviously you pull down (rather than pushing up) and you are shown the search box.
    This appears to have been missed in this area of the OS so all you have is your finger to scroll through the list - I am sure that I am not the only one who has found this problem as it is very difficult to use the iphone without a search facility or at least not expanding all the folders.
    It takes me 5-10 minutes to find a folder for example...

    So, it shows weather for my current locations just fine, but when I search for a specific location it won't find it! The only time it shows weather is when its your current location.
