When I started using Nokia Messaging for my emails I got an email explaining how it was free but I may have to pay data charges to my service provider. That's all fine, but at the bottom of the email this was written:
"Nokia Messaging promotional period expires on 31st May 2010"
What happenes then? Do I have to pay?

  • Nokia 920 Bluetooth and SMS Speech

I have a Nokia 920 and I recently changed from a Toyota RAV4 to a VW Golf 2013 MK7 TSI 90 Comfortline in Australia on Telstra.
Previously, when paired with my RAV4 whenever I got incoming SMS text it would announce text from the phone contact and offer the option to 'Read it', 'Reply' using voice commands.
I've paired it to my VW Golf but it no longer announces SMS text or give me voice command options.  Is this a bluetooth compatibility issue; is there any option to upgrade or modify settings to enable this feature?
    Richard

Hi, when i refer to voice commands I was specifically referring to scenario:
    1. SMS text arrives
    2. Announcement is made of new text - with option to 'Read it', 'Reply', 'Send'
-- I was referring to the above options as it relates to voice commands back.
    3. Voice commands via holding the Windows Logo on phone - this works fine.

  • Since upgrading to IOS6, some of my contacts (using nokia) no longer receives sms from me, although it shows on my 4s phone that it was sent. I receive sms from these contacts though. These contacts are international numbers. What do I do to fix this? Thx

Since upgrading to IOS6 on my 4s, some of my sms messages (international) are no longer delivered to other phone users (nokia, etc.), even though it shows sent in the message screen. I do however receive sms messages from these numbers. These numbers are correct and I can call or receive calls on the same numbers. I would appreciate if someone can assist me so that my messages can be received again on international numbers. I think all my local numbers are working fine regarding messages. Thanks.

Since it has always been very basic to backup your computer and all it's data, Apple provides no way for you to transfer music from your iPhone back to your computer.  As you know, you can re-download all iTunes purchases, but music that you ripped yourself you'll have to just re-rip again.
You can try and find 3rd party applications that might help you.  I'm sure you'll pay, however.
Let this be a very important lesson learned.

  • Nokia 2700 Classsic Picture SMS Problem

    Hi
I'm using Nokia 2700 Classic. I've a problem with Picture SMS. When I receive a Picture SMS and I wanna forward it as Picture SMS the cell phone make this sms as MMS and I can't send it as SMS. And my service provider charges for MMS. While in Picture SMS it contains equals to 3 text messages. & Nokia 2700 Classic creating a problem for me. Kindly solve it.
    CyBeNtIzEn

Hi and welcome. The 2700 is supported by Nokia Suite. After sync of the SMS's to the suite, they can be exported from the suite as a .csv file to use in other programs.
    http://www.nokia.com/gb-en/support/product-archive/?action=productArchive&tid=1571712&searchTerm=Nok...
It may also be possible to transfer the SMS's from the old phone to a new phone via Bluetooth (Connection -> Data Transfer -> Phone Change) but that option may not apply to the 2700 and your new phone.
Please let us know how it goes.

  • Nokia X3-02 wrong SMS Date

    Hi All!
When I receive an SMS, the display show the date of receive it on my phone and not the date send of the sms. This appen when I turn on the phone. Is a very issue and bug.
Did you have the same problem?

  • Nokia 6288 - Viewing of sms messages

1 - I find that I am unable to access a received sms message whilst I am in a chat programme. I have to log right out of the chat programme to read and reply to the sms. Is there a way around this? My previous phone was a Sony Ericcson and it would allow me to view and reply whilst in the middle of a chat programme.
2 - The back light goes out far too quickly making reading of smses or emails very frustrating. One cannot press any key to illuminate the screen as a menu option is activated unintentionally. There doesn't appear to be an option to extend the time of the back light. Any way around this?
If someone could solve these 2 problems, I'll be eternally grateful.

Sadly neither of these issues can be fixed.
The 6288 is not designed to multi-task so you cannot use another program until you exit what you are in.
The light time-out is hard coded into the firmware and cannot be changed. The time-out on older nokia's was 15 seconds which was perfect but it's been lowered to around 10 seconds on newer phones. Probably to save battery power.

  • Nokia 7100 and old SMS messages on SIM card

    Dear all,
I just bought my wife the Nokia 7100 and she very happy with it. One strange thing with this phone is that it does not recognize the old SMS messages that are still on the SIM card. Is there a way to make them visible and copy them to the phone?
    Thanks for your help
    Patrick

i do not believe so, current sim card do not store any text messages unless they are service messages, i suggest that you update your sim card as it appears to be well into age in technology years. you can try to acess sim card messages in the messaging folder and select the option to copy messages into phone memory or memory card if such option exists but again im not sure that there is such opiton. if you do have the sim message option, select left side option key scroll down to copy and you just might be able to copy it to the inbox. let us know what happens.
You know what I love about you the most, the fact that you are not me ! In love with technology and all that it can offer. Join me in discovery....

  • Nokia 2330 Classic 250 SMS capacity only?

I am a bit confused because it states here that the Nokia 2330 Classic can hold only up to 250 messages : http://www.nokia.co.in/find-products/products/nokia-2330-classic/specifications
I think it can hold as many messages untill its "free memory / shared memory" is available?
    Which one is correct?

it would depend on what memo is left on the phones internal memory and the amount of text you have including sent and saved items
If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.

  • Nokia 700 not receiving SMS until power cycled

I have not had any replies to a lot of SMS messages for a few days. Then I turned the phone off and back on and a load of messages were delivered within a few minutes.
However I had been using the phone for phone calls throughout that time.
    It sounds like a bug...
It is latest firmware and on Vodafone.

My Vodafone SIM card is brand new.
Looking at the above post, it does sound like a bug.
This explanation was posted in usenet and is very interesting:
Most people are aware that it is store and forward in that the message
doesn't go from your mobile to the destination one but rather via
something akin to a post office (the SMSC) which works out how to
deliver it to the destination mobile,  delivers it if it can and if not
holds it until it can deliver it.
As ever, the devil is in the detail, first of all deliveries to
destination mobiles are not universally successful (1% or so seem to
fail even if you know the mobile is available and has full signal) and
in general (although not always) SMSCs have a timer based retry to get
around that,  but sometimes the error specifies that the mobile is
really not there and hence the SMSC needs to set what is known as the
Message Waiting Data (MWD) in the Home Location Register (HLR) (the
database in the network that is always queried for your profile and
settings when you come into service in a new area).
When you next appear in a new area,  the Visited Location Register (VLR
    - the local database at your new location,  generally controls roughly
100 cell sites or so) queries the HLR for your details and this query is
meant to cause the HLR to Alert the SMSC that you have appeared and to
make a new attempt to deliver the messages.
However, notice the occurrence of "new" area - if you hadn't actually
left the area and there was just a routing issue or a momentary loss of
signal then it can be hours (or potentially days) until a regular update
to the HLR occurs and you'll get your messages.
Now, also, all of these things have addresses in the network that need
to be configured and routed correctly,  and if 99%+ of the traffic is
successful (as it goes down a delivery route that works right) then it's
often very difficult for the networks to track down (particularly if it
only causes an unwanted delay and they get their revenue eventually anyway).
Of course, it could also be a phone bug that tries to say to the SMSC
"not right now",  but actually comes out with something like "my memory
is full and I'll tell you when I have space" (and it never does the the
    latter).
None of that has anything to do with data and BB services though - data
is another can of worms that is very much a case of standards by committee.
I wonder if a phone firmware bug can cause this network behaviour?

  • Nokia C7 Issue - Sending SMS in parts

    Hi all,
Can anyone help me...my C7 has started sending my SMS in parts, locally and overseas.  Sometimes, only 2nd half reaches receipient, sometimes only 1st half.  Sometimes there are 1-2 days for the other part to arrive!  Makes it very frustrating for the person receiving.  Thanks you

sounds like a network carrier issue. you will need to check with them concerning multi-part messages, the condition of your SIM card, network signal/reception/strength in your area of residence.

  • Nokia 1100 Problems Opening SMS?

Well I have a problem receiving some sms on this phone. When I try to open it, it displays the opening message screen for a second then goes back to the inbox. It only happens with certain messages and the envelope stays on the main screen all the time. Ive tried switching the sim to another cell and that hasnt helped
    any ideas?
    thanks in advance

I have the same problem, I can't even delete them. When I change mine sim-card with another one, it is sometimes possible to open these items. I also have another annoying thing: in the list off missed calls there is no association with mine contacts, so I have to scroll through all my contacts to find the associated contact.

  • Nokia 6085 wont receive sms. is it a memory card p...

basically, my nokia 6085 sometimes has spurts of not receiving messages or calls. It just flashes blue and white and turns off at the time someone sends a message to me. These spurts can last for a week. Now here's the thing: I put in fujifilm i gig micro sd memory card a few hours before this began to happen.
I'm still under warranty; all I need to know is is this a problem caused by an incompatible memory card?

memory card has nothing to do.but still for your satisfaction you can remove memory card and see it happens.my knowledge says it is because of software and needs an update.

Is it showing notification like "Your message has been sent to .." or "Your message has been delivered to ..." ?
If its about the Delivery, then you should be able to disable it ...The setting to Disable 'Delivery Reports' should be available unde Messaging-->Settings ...and it should be in your Nokia C3-00 too ..
My C3-00 shows "Your message has been sent to ....".  There is no way on the C3 to disable that.  Turning off delivery reports is something completly different.
What I really want to know though is if the Asha 302 does this or not?
    Thank you.
