Re-numbering the Group Number

I have included Special Field "Group Number" in my report which comes up as 1, 2, 3, etc.
However, I need the group numbers as A), B), C), etc. I tried creating a formula (IF-THEN-ELSE) but I cannot see the Group Number field for selection.
Q1. Are special fields not available to be included in other formulae?
Q2. How do I achieve this group re-numbering?

Thanks for dot-rpt. It helped me understand.
What you have done is basically created a formula for the groups. I am using available field in the table "Item Group" as a grouping in my report and then used the ready-made Special field "Group Number" which gives me 1, 2, 3, and so on.
If I use your logic, I will have to create a formula for groupng instead of using the table field Item Group for grouping. In other words, I will have to create a formula IF Item Group=Group1 then "A)" and so on.
The problem with this solution is that not all Item Groups appear on my report. My report groups are then numbered as A) followed by D) and so on because of missing Item Groups B) and C).
Any solution that will work must somehow refer to the special field Group Number - otherwise it looks like it may not work.
Any ideas?

Bank concepts T code FF68 screen in the group field I mention *. And posted the entire one. After that I went to OVERVIE
option and selected my bank. Here the issue is *if u mention GROUP field as a *. System automatically given the number*. But
here system not given any error.
So please anybody help me here.

Dear Sachin,
Since is freely definable field you can enter what ever naming convention you want to give.
First make a convention what naming you should give to that group.
Then enter accordingly

BOM Group number field

We are using LSMW for Routing data upload.
The "Group" field in the CA01 screen is giving a problem.
The Group number, (which is generated internally) which was used for uploading the previous record is remaining in the field while uploading the next record also, due to which the system is not accepting the Group Counter 01 each time.

Hi,
If this problem is with Routing Group Number, then the Set-get parameters for the Group number must be activated.
If it is active, immediately after coming back to the CA01 screen automatically the Group Number will appear on the screen.
So, deactivate this in SPRO --> Production --> Basic data --> Routing.

In master receipe when I create more that one recipe for the same material, will the Group number of the master recipe will be same or it will be different for diff recipes?

Hi,
If you create more than one recipe for a material, then for the same group number the new recipe will be created with group counter 02.
This is same as that of routing creation.

Group number for multiple groups

I have a report that has two groups. I would like to get the total number of groups in Group 2 under each group of Group 1. I know there is a Group Number field in the special fields but that will only give me the group number of Group 2 for the whole report. To clarify assuming Group 1=A and Group 2=B:

     B-1
     B-2
     B-3
A-2
     B-1
     B-2

If i understood exactly, You want to display Number of B groups in group A's Footer. Like
A-1

Total No Of B:3

Right?!!
For this You need to write 3 formulas,
1, First Formula,
Shared numberVar Num:=0;
Drag and drop this formula field into GroupA header. And Suppress it
2,Second formula,
Shared numberVar Num:=Num+1;
Num
Drag and drop this formula field into GroupB header. And Suppress it
3,Third one,
shared numberVar Num;
Num;
Drag and drop this formula field into GroupA Footer With Appropriate Label(Like "Total No Of B:"). This will give you the count of B's in GroupA footer.

Group Number Variable

I would like a group number variable formula to be added as a feature to Crystal Reports. This is how it would work:
For example, You have a sum of records for a group called payroll. The total is $20,000. Payroll is comprised of FICA, Medicare, and Salary etc. You want to add a budget amout for this group using a group number variable. The budget amount is $20,000. This budget amount would remain static for this group. The difference would be sum of records payroll group- group number variable which is $20,000 - 22,000=-2,000. Right now the maxinium function and manual running totals have to be used to arrive at the same figure. The group number variable could be used in cross tabs as well. Does anyone know if something like this is being planned?

Perhaps you're on an earlier version?Â It's just called "GroupNumber".Â It will return what group you are on.Â Have you tried using that function for your needs?

Oh I see. So I guess what you are saying is that is
Director's way of compressing vector numbers. Also, as to what you
were saying about the number 3000 is sure not the limit for vector
units, I think I was just jumping the gun considering that I only
glanced at the script error, and then clicked on the debug button
to see where the error happened. Then once I looked at the varibles
in the varible window, I saw these weird numbers with the e3 at the
end of them, and I just thought that it could not add the vectors
together with the e3 at the end of each vector unit. However, to
make a long story short, I detached the script and reattached it
which did no create the error again, and I learned that Director
can add vector units together that have an e3 at the end of each
vector unit. So thanks for clarifying what the e3 means.

In iPhoto albums may contain photos with the same file name - iPhoto handles that just fine
If you are exporting them to move somewhere else use the sequential file name feature of export to give each file a unique name

I keep getting calls from non existing area codes and phone numbers. They are never the same number twice. How do I stop this?

About a week ago I started getting phone calls on my cell phone from numbers that do not exist, including the area codes. I can not report these to the Do Not Call list because the area code is non existent. I'm getting these calls all the time now and never from the same number twice so there's no point in blocking them. If I answer I may or may not get a person who has an accent from India so heavy that I can't understand what they are saying. This is getting to the point where I just want to cry I'm so frustrated. Anyone else having this issue or does anyone know how to stop it?

I think the app GroupMe might do what you want. You might also try contacting your carrier. My carrier offered some fancy group texting service for a while but they never really advertised it so, unless you asked, you never would have known. But, GroupMe is available in the app store. There are lots of other apps that also do group texting but it seems to be the one that gets recommended the most.

How do I disable the phone number's digits grouping on my Iphone 3g?

I totally hate this feature where phone number's digits are grouped like (xxx) xxx-yyyy. I'm not used to this and even if it makes sense for americans I don't like it and I want it disabled. How do I do that?

Go to Settings > General > International > Region Format and select something other than United States (to keep the language in English, you can select United Kingdom - the phone number format there is 4085551212, no ()- in there). Romania is not a choice in the locations, yet (probably in a future update).

How to find out the Group Delivery Number from STO

User performed WA08 to create Vendor PO and STO for stores.
When GR was carried out on the Vendor PO, multiple Delivery Order were auto-generated.
Now, is there a place whereby User could identified the Group Delivery Number which
links all the DOs generated based on either
a. The STO number OR
b. The vendor PO number OR
c. the allocation table.
Can some assist?

Profit center group number on the report painter report.

We have a client requirement where we have to develop Profit center by Functional Area report by using report painter report functionality, however we are able to bring profit center group description on to the report as per the requirement, but not able to get profit center group number displayed on the report.
Can anyone please advice me if we can get the Profit center group number displayed on the report in Report painter report. Else let me know if we can get the requirement met by an ABAPER.

Hi.
First of all, through transaction GS01 create a set ID for profit centers.
Give table GLPCT, let the set type be the default (basic set) and give field name RPRCTR. Then define the range of profit centers you want. If you want all the profit centers give * in the "from value field".
Then create a variable through transaction GS11. Give table and field as above, choose variable type set and at the default set field choose the set you created.
Finally, at report painter go to Edit/General Data Selection and select profit center.
Check both flags (for entering sets and variables) and give at the form field the variable you've made.
Now the progit center group will be available in the selection screen with default value the set you've made.
