  • Frame frate drops to 10 FPS when encoding HD

When encoding HD (1080 & 720) the input on my encoder will drop to about 6 FPS after about 5 minutes. I have tested by just doing one output stream and maintaining input resolution and I still run into the issue. I am using the Blackmagic Intensity and the Blackmagic DeckLink and have had exactly the same issue with both. Anyone else experiencing this? If so do you have the same input cards?

Please share system details like OS, Flavor (pro/Ultimate..), RAM, processor..... Also please check whether latest driver installed for BM Intensity pro/Decklink.
What is input and output settings (dimension, bit rate, fps)..

  • GTX 760 OC 2GB Fps drops and performance drops when reach 2GB

Hey after this problems with the GTX970, I decided to test my graphic card which I received from the RMA because the last one just gone, and when reach almost 2GB of ram used the performance drops a lot like in the 970, In games like Assetto Corsa I'm feeling this problem, sometimes I have drops from 60 fps to 20 fps ..
My model is the GTX 760 OC GAMING 2GB but the last which gone had the difference in the memory chip, using hynix memories instead of this new one which have Elpida.
    Any idea?

  • Discrete graphics card performance drop after overheating

Recently I played Amnesia: The Dark Descent on my pc while overclocking slightly using Sapphire TRIXX. I changed GPU clock from 750 to 84x and memory clock from 900 to 10xx. During a cinematic the com crashed, ctrl at del failed to load up but sound was still coming out. I left it like this for2-5 min before force shutdown. When I turned on my laptop again n tried to play games there was a huge performance drop. Games running at 60 fps turned to 20 plus when using dedicated graphics card only ( I disabled dynamic mode n used fixed mode while playing amnesia also, which means I was purely using the dedicated graphics card.)
My laptop is a hp dm4 3005tx Beats edition, with Intel I5 2.5GHz processor and 8.00 gig ram. I also disabled paging file on my laptop btw, regretting this .
can some1 tell me hw to fix.this problem or can I replace my discrete graphics card? Because my laptop has Radeon hd 7470m and Intel hd graphics

The graphics card is soldered on so no replacement. I would do a wipe and reload of the OS and stop overclocking laptop video cards. They are too sensitive to heat and other issues. You are asking for trouble, and may have already found it. At a minimum run DriverCleaner and remove the video driver until you get back to a low-res screen generic vga hardware and then reinstall the best driver you can find.

  • Sudden MBP Retina 15" gaming performance drop

    Hi there,
I've owned my Macbook Pro Retina since a few weeks after it came out last year, and have generally loved using it. However, I'm starting to worry now as I've noticed a severe performance drop lately in games.
I've not booted into Bootcamp (Windows 8 x64) for about two months now, but today I loaded up Skyrim, and the performance was atrocious. The game was unplayable at 1920x1200 on high, unmodded. It lags horribly - 10FPS at most. I used to be able to play this game heavily modded and achieve a high FPS. I've noticed a performance drop with other games as well, much lower than what I'd expect from this machine.
I've checked out GPU-Z and the 650M GT clocks up to 900MHz when the game launches.
I'm not sure what has caused this but I've done some reading and people have suggested an "SMC Reset" - I've tried this to no avail. If anyone could lend any advice I'd greatly appreciate it.

Well one problem is that bootcamp hasn't been updated to support Windows 8 yet, so there may be driver issues there. I have experienced this problems and so have others in this forum and an smc reset has fixed the majority. Are you sure you are performing the SMC reset correctly? Also, try a PRAM reset and see if that helps resolve the issue.

  • Macbook Pro 17" (Mid-2009) Randomly Getting Stuck in Sleep Mode when Unplugged

Hey guys, this is my first time posting so please excuse me if I do anything wrong. Here's the issue:
I have a Macbook Pro 17" (Mid-2009) that has had an issue with the whole computer shutting down at random, but only when unplugged from the MagSafe power adapter. Upon scouring all the forums and discussions I could, I haven't found anyone with the same exact circumstances as myself, hence this post. Let me explain.
Many say it's a battery issue. That can't be, because this has been happening for months, and after I finally got my laptop repaired a few days ago, it still occurs. I had sent it in for a logic board failure, but consented them to fix any other parts that weren't functioning properly. Upon the return of my machine, I found that they installed a fresh hard drive, new battery, new logic board, and a new speaker on the right side. This must mean that neither the logic board nor the battery are the issue.
What else can this point to? Again, it only occurs when the Mac is unplugged from a power source, and it doesn't totally shut down. It goes half way, essentially stuck in sleep mode. The white indicator light on the front freezes, and the power button has to be held to fully turn the laptop off, then pressed again to reboot. It can last anywhere from a single minute to a few hours before shutting off again, and it's always the exact same circumstance, no matter what kind of computing I'm doing at the time.
Note that while no one else has found the solution to lie within resetting the PRAM or SMC (in the discussions I read), I still need to try that tonight and see if it affects anything.
    Thanks in advance,
    Sean

Macs are having problems with SSD drives. The root cause is the OS X journaling file system. The Apple-written SATA controller driver can saturate the bus at times, inhibiting performance. Some manufactures are even selling special "Mac" versions of their SSD drives that are slowed down on purpose to compensate for this problem. Unfortunately, the problem still exists in Snow Leopard, from what I've read.
Also, I read that Apple has secretly slowed the recent new laptops down (3.0GB/s to 1.5GB/s) to compensate for the problem.

  • 280x x2-x3 performance drops

    my system is i7 4770k, giga z87-hd3, 16gb ram, win 7 x64 and msi gaming 280x
Some time ago i saw, what i have big performance drops time by time after loading new levels in game, or reloading save, or just alt-tab in windows and comeback in game (game not important - it can happy in any 3d game). Its happen randomly and can be fixed with just another loading, or alt-tab in win and comeback in 3d game. Other words - every time in game, after im switch to 2D and back in 3D im have chance of very slow mode or all can be again work as it should. Its not deadly but annoying
Im monithor this by GPU-Z and afterburner - and im not saw no any drops of clock of gpu or gpu loading. No any themeprature problem (all stay cool). No any problems with free memory or something. Im also chek in GPU-Z when game runing in - PICE mode is stay 16x 3.0 both in "normal" and "slow" mode.
Not sure its just two "mode" - subjectivly, it can be "normal-fast as it should", "slowly then it should" and "slow as hell"
one thing im remember - several months ago on this forum i requested and received new bios for my 280x (fixed high vcom temperature issue). Im not sure, but maybe this random performance start after this bios. MAybe it have new bios? Or any help how i can fix this problems. thanks.

Gaming App - it's MSI's software. Unless your graphics card is more of "standard" rather than Gaming edition?
If possible, try your card in different computer and see if there are loss of performance too.
Also, contact Gigabyte asking for newest BIOS for your board.
And make vBIOS request here for your GPU, providing Serial Number (you can dismiss last 3 characters) and copy of current vBIOS (use GPU-Z to make copy, upload it to some file hosting service and give a link here).
Im tryed gaming apps and afterburner - not effect, of curse.
My bios is up to date but my motherboard have a bug with random BSODs. This bsods very rare - about 1 in the week and absolutly random, so i cant show this problem in service center of shop for immidatly replacing.
Im dont sure this perfromance problem from motherboard as BSOD too. But it possible.

  • Wifi performance drops after connecting dualshock 3 via bluetooth

As the title says,  when i sync my dualshock 3 control via bluetooth to my sgp321, wifi performance drops from 50 mbps to 8 mbps or less....
I've tried all the common "solutions"  given,  from pccompanion restoring to put the router in the fridge with a potato nailed on the wifi antenna during a week, starting on Halloweens night...
Could i have a sony expertise answering about this issue???
    Regards.

Could it be that you have your WiFi and Bluetooth in same frequency band? Any chance you can try WiFi on the 802.11n band? or try changing channels of your WiFi router? I don't think you can change your Bluetooth. Frequencies... I believe WiFi on "n" operates at 5 ghz as opposed to bluetooth operating in 2.4 ghz band... that way less chance of interference

  • Does daisy chained firewires make performance drop?

Hi all, just looking for a quick answer by someone who knows what they're talking about. Will daisy chaining firewire 400 drives together on a Mac or PC create a performance drop? I'm editing a project using 2 daisy chained drives at the moment with media on both. My co-worker claims it will slow down the computer's access to the media, I say it won't. Neither of us has any hard evidence and a quick google search doesn't turn up anything substantial either. What I'm looking for is hard engineering evidence. Thanks!

The firewire protocol allows for 63 or so devices to be chained together.
Running two FW400 devices should not be an issue. I've run up to a eight on chain in the past.
Still, be aware that some drives do not play well with other drives on the same chain. I have a G-RAID 500GB drive that tanks when there is another drive connected. It runs fine when it is the only drive on the bus.
If you are curious, go to the AJA website and find the "AJA System Test" app. It is a disk drive throughput test. Connect your drives in various configurations and see what happens.
    Good luck,
    x

check nvidia geforce experience, and go to the battery boost settings.
battery boost usually caps it to 30 fps when on battery, yet you can set these values up to 60fps cap, or disable battery boost. goodluck :D
    Thanks a ton!

I have created a PDF form with multiple drop downs, all with the same drop down values. When I select a value from 1 of the drop down fields, it replicates in all of the others - which I do not want. Can I fix this?

I'm fairly new to this, but I think it has to do with the way you have the drop downs named. Did you copy one then keep pasting it in each field? If so, that is the problem. You should rename each one with a different number: Dropdown1, Dropdown2, etc. I think that might solve the issue.

  • MacBook Pro wakes up when unplugging usb from cinema display

    Hi all,
I have a 30" cinema display at work and a 23" at home which I use with my macbook pro. At work, I use a usb keyboard which stays plugged into the monitor. At home, I have a wireless keyboard and a usb printer plugged into the monitor. Thus in both cases, I plug the usb cable from the display into my laptop. I typically leave the MBP open so as to have the main display and the cinema display at the same time. When I leave home or work, I close to MBP to put it to sleep. However, upon unplugging the display and especially its usb cable, the laptop invariably wakes up, which is annoying.
I tried leaving the MPB closed and putting it to sleep with the display's on/off button. Same behavior.
Is there a setting to prevent usb 'signals' from waking up the computer? Should I proceed differently?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I know this question is answered, but I didn't want to create another thread to discuss the same topic.
I think this issue is rooted in the Cinema Display being attached to port 3 of it's own internal hub. This is to allow the display dimming, the power button that controls the sleep/wake of the laptop, etc. I just got my 30" cinema display a week or two ago, and before that was using an HP IPS LCD panel (24") that also had an integrated USB hub. I have the same devices attached too --USB hard drive for time machine, and keyboard (mighty mouse plugged in to keyboard). When unplugging the cable to the HP monitor's hub, the macbook would not wake up. Just with the Apple display.
The problem with the hack/bandaid/workaround suggested is that to unplug the USB cable before sleeping the laptop, I need to open disk utility and eject the external drive first, else the system will complain. When the laptop goes to sleep, it runs a script (that I wrote) to eject the drive before sleeping, thus no error messages.
Apple really needs to work on making "docking" work right. Until then, I'm using a Belkin USB hub which doesn't wake up the mac when unplugging it.

  • My Macbook Pro runs VERY slow when unplugged. The battery charges and runs ok. Ran an SMC reset (no success), Safe mode (did not work), and hardware check (came back ok). What can I try next to fix this?

    Hello all,
I am new to posting on this forum but I really hope that someone out there can help me out. I have a 13" MacBook Pro, 2.53 GHz Core 2 Duo, 4GB 1067 MHz DDR3, running OSX 10.6.8. My problem is that when I unplug the laptop form the charger and run it on the battery, the computer becomes unresponsive to any commands at all. It basically really slows down to a crawl. Even when rebooting it will take 5-10 minutes or more to do so. The odd thing is, when it gets plugged back in while any of this is going on, within a minute or two it works perfectly. It has been in a mac authorized repair shop for 7 weeks and has had a new logic board and a new hard drive replaced. The battery was tested and charges fine, holds a charge when unplugged, and the system profile shows the battery at Normal. Recently, many knowledgeable mac enthusiasts gave me tip that might help. Here is what I did: Ran an SMC reboot (no success), rebooted the computer under safe mode then unplugged it to test (no success), and ran a hardware test on the install disk (showed hardware ok)
I am at a loss as to what to do next. It has become impossible to use this laptop for my classes when it is unplugged. I am about ready to just go buy a new one, and call this one a goner.
I am hoping someone reading this can help with any other ideas on its problem. Help? Anyone?
    Steve

    LPBassman,
since the tech in your IT department was able to copy your daughter’s data from her MacBook Pro’s internal disk, I’d suggest completely erasing the internal disk (using Disk Utility in Recovery mode, reformatting it with a “Mac OS Extended (Journaled)” filesystem), reïnstalling its original version of Mac OS X (either Snow Leopard from the grey Mac OS X Install DVD if it originally came with two grey DVDs, or Lion via OS X Internet Recovery if no grey DVDs originally came with it), running Software Update to get it to 10.6.8 or 10.7.5 respectively, reïnstalling Mavericks, running Software Update again to get it up to date, and finally restoring your daughter’s data.
