Re: Phoneline (and Broadband) unusable for 3 weeks...

My Broadband and phone line have not worked properly since 10th Feb Numerous phone calls and 2 engineer visits later and still unresolved. Helpline useless promise to ring back within certain time then don't just feel I am going round in circles and BT charging me £64 a month and have not had service for 3weeks now.

On 10th February phone line stopped working(broadband was fine). Engineer came out on12th established fault was in exchange box. I received text later that day saying phone line was fixed but broadband faulty and it had been reported. Numerous calls have been made to helpline since - promises to ring me back within a certain time period have not been met. I work full time and am not allowed to have my mobile with me so have had difficulty communicating with helpline. Finally another engineer came out on 25th February said fault was in exchange box he was unable to put right and could only give me a phone line or broadband not both. I settled for broadband and was told the problem would be resolved within a short time. It has not been resolved I am still without phone line and when I ring helpline they seem to not be able to understand what has happened. This afternoon I rang helpline at 3.10pm and was told a manager would ring me back within 2hours no one rang me back. I am very unhappy with the whole situation .

    Take a look at java.util.Calendar. It has all the methods you need to make your own class for this.

  • MBP Retina 15" Unused for 2 weeks now slow, unresponsive?

    Hoping someone can help. I've been away on vacaction for 2 weeks - before I left I shut down my MBP retina and left it in a drawer.
    Upon returning today it booted up normally, then immediately

    any chance it is trying to backup to a TimeMachine drive?  That can make things slow?  If it is the icon in the menu bar will be turning.
    What about indexing the drive?  This would be indicated by the magnifying glass for Spotlight pulsing in the menu bar (very far right).

  • Broadband poor for a week, now officially .... Dea...

    Hope someone can shed some light on this for me, that has possible experiences like this - so that im not going totally insane;
    Im posting this via a 3g dongle as its the only means of a connection i have now;
    Because of the below issues, i cannot do the bt.speedtester as well, since i now have no connection.
    My connection (selby exchange area code: 01757) was a usual and stable 11mb/s since moving to new residence in July;
    However since friday last week 18th November - the speed dropped and was restrcited to;
    2.416mb/s - down
    0.999mb/s - up
    with a few random drops here and there, over the course of the week the speeds crept up a little - nothing major - best it got to was;
    3.416mb/s - down
    1.406mb/s - up
    however on friday 25th November, the connection has died
    random disconnects every 5-20 minutes, the router will connect and light up blue but there is actually no internet connection even though there is a reading on the speed being given.
    spoke to the ever helpful helpdesk, and told an engineer would need to visit and next one will be free in 9 days;
    the problem imo is the exchange as the readings/information on the router has been crazy ever since these issues;
    a ticket got opened on thursday 24th - but instantly got closed as resolved, and a new one was open again on friday 25th - if any mods should see this post;

    i want to calculate the start of the current week as well as the last date of the current week, our week start from Saturday and ends of Friday i.e. Saturday is the first day of the week and Friday is the last day of the week.

  • Turning Modem and Router off for two weeks?

    Would it have an effect on my Infinity profile if I turned off both the modem and router for a couple of weeks?
    I ask mainly due to concern about the Openreach Modem potential for overheating.

    If switching it off for a fortnight causes any problems , then there are far more serious problems in the network than overheating modems.

They have zero tech support and have problems dealing with Western Digital external hard drive solution. I go there, and the device just is not working. I told the guy "Well hate to this, but it's just not working" And the guy is like "I can't accept that as an answer", and I chuckle to myself "as if the device cares what you will accept", so I take him to google and type out his problem and let him see all the people struggling with it and he's like "Oh I guess there is something wrong with it" And I tell him "Welcome to my job.. googling problems and working out which solutions might work and might not...

    I have a client that has this odd industry app that I guess is always a PITA. I had a small fix to do a few weeks back. He mentions a rep from this software vendor will be coming and installing some new software features to this app and some special hardware. He said I don't know, but we may need you on that day.
    I replied okay, you have all the logins you should need, I think you'll be set. Guy comes, I guess that all goes off without a hitch. The next week though I get email he's like I'mlogging in with this account, I don't recall what we used before.
    This account was for the owner and had a roaming profile setup, and printers had changed from default because this vendors work. He tried changing, but they kept resetting. I told him I think it was probably related to so many profiles on this account being open and they weren't all the...

  • FiOS Phone and Internet down for 2 weeks

    Inbound calls: system answers with loud crackling noise, phones ring once. Sometimes the calls get sent directly to voicemail
    Outbound calls: fast busy on off-hook, sometimes you can't break dialtone
    Internet service: slows down significantly
    The ONT has been replaced at least 5 or 6 times, the router 3 times, and the office equipment once. The problem still recurs even if all the phones in the house have been disconnected.
    I believe the problems are  consistent with a high data error rate. This would also explain why Internet is currently working while the phone is offline.Voice traffic is less tolerant of high data error rates, while Internet traffic can tolarate a few dropped packets.This high error rate could be caused by problems with the fibre drop: too small bending radus, contamination, etc.
    We thought that there may be a problem with rain getting into some of the fibre splices but the last tech checked and found that all connections were dry.
    There have been at least 10 different techs here and they've all come to the same conclusion: that there is a problem with the fibre drop to the house.
    Any ideas (before we switch to Comcast)?

    I would have to agree the problem lies in the fiber connection.  Since various VZ folks agree do they plan to replace the fiber connection from the pole to the house?  Seems like the next logical step.

  • No phoneline,No broadband and the activation date ...

    I recently switched from Sky to BT as I was having an issue with my broadband and phoneline that Sky were far from helpful about. Sky took 5 weeks to fix a fault on the phoneline after many promises and many times an engineer didnt turn up when promised.Ive checked the test socket and done all the test.Now im being messed about by BT and im now wondering is this a very normal thing all company's do now.First sky and now BT,who next if I decide to change again??
    My equipment (HH4) and activation email arrived on 18th September to say everything was ready to go.
    I followed the steps that came with the equipment, but the Hub light never returned to blue. It is stuck on orange and the broadband light is flashing red. Also the phoneline is completely dead and still and its getting towards 2am now.Thing is know all the connections and the phone cable works because Sky finaly fixed the phoneline 2 weeks ago after 5 weeks waiting to get it fixed and its been perfect since and the engineer sent 2 weeks ago put a new cable from the mast to the flat and fitted a new phone socket so BT cant give me the **bleep** my line or equipment is faulty because that would be bull **bleep**! The sky phoneline and broadband went off yesterday morning then a few hours later got texts from bt to say the phoneline and broadband is now active and is ready to use.I even changed the filters over BT sent with the new home hub.I plugged the phone directly in to the test socket and nothing,its completely dead!

    As you have moved from sky to bt, I suspect it will be something to do with the disconnection of the sky equipment in the exchange, and the connection to the bt equipment. If you try that number later on today, hopefully they will get it sorted. also there will be more experienced posters on here, that will probably be able to help you further.......
    They have to sleep sometime..........
    Don't forget that the only people you'll find on here, is customers that have had some sort of problem. There are going to be many, many others who don't have problems. I had a problem with errors/interference, and with the help of this forum, was able to minimise the effect on my connection........

    Hi experts.
    in a reports I'm entering a date manually through a variable ZDATE1 for current year.
    I need to find out the corresponding date last year based on the week number and week day for the entered date.
    So, If i enter date 08/21/2009 , and that happens to be week 35 and day 2 for this week. so what would be the calender date for the same week 35 and day 2 in the previous year (2008).
    Please help with any functions or methods or syntax...

    Hi Frank.
    Im sure its possible to find the date last year, but it will involve some programming and thinking about time/dates etc, unless you can do a lookup in the factorycalendar or "normal" calendar, stored in the system AND having the number of day info.
    But you want to do this on the fly, in the report? I think performance might take a hit...

    My battle with Direct TV has ended, as the credit agencies removed yet another debt collector of theirs since this fight started almost 7 years ago.  So I decided it was time to see what kind of rewards I could get. My scores from credit karma.  717 from TU and 721 from EQ.  685 Fico from Discover.For the highs.Went to Discover and asked for a CLI on my 1k limit card.  $300 CLI was already in place and not asked for.  So what the hell, hit the button asking for another and BAM $700 popped up!  I pay it off every month but I put everythign I possibly can on it, like free money for stuff I pay for anyway.  So I had 3 other credit cards in mind that I wanted to get due to their cash back bonuses.Chase Freedome was next and approved right away.  Not sure on my CLI as have not got it yet.  Guess I could call and ask.Lows for the week.Applied for Blue Cash everyday AMEX denied waiting to hear why.  Was pretty shocked though.Applied for US bank cash+ was denied waiting to hear why.  Very dissapointed on this one due to thei 2%.Asked for a CLI on my Cap1 Quicksilver $750 limit as I never use it, as it just turned into Quicksiler this month.  Denied for never having a balance.  Called and had very rude costomer service supervisor lady.  she was terrible and clueless.  asked her how long I would have to make payments before they would consider.  She did not know.  Asked her if I needed to spend a set amount, she did not know.  Guess I willhave to just make 2 payments a month to them as put over 1k on my card each month.  Funny thing is, I have had this card for 3 years, but it never had any cash back so no reason to ever use it.

    Does EO stand for exacutive office?  Just trying to make sure that a thread I am reading elsewhere about it is the same as what you mean.  Thanks for the help, much apprediated.

    hi, usaully production system will be non changeable for all objects.. but as far as SAP BW is concerned we can make certain objects changeable by setting as follows..
    in production go to RSA1 - Transport Connection, select Object changeability button from tool bar, here you will find a list of objects which can be made changeable in a closed system.. just click on required objects and set it to Everything Changeable..
