Re Photo Books. Hi I have an old full version of Photoshop 6 and Elements 12. Elements 12 serves pretty well all my editing needs. It has a Photo Book facility but the Template is not brilliant eg It is clumsy adding captions. I have been looking at Lightroom 5 which seems to have a great Photo Book facility but do I have to Buy the full Light Room 5 programme to use it? If so, what is the cost?

Following your suggestion, I have had a look at Blurb and it seems
pretty good and quite easy to use. Many thanks for this suggestion. I
have had a look around and I find there are many "publishers" and
although Blurb comes out well in many reviews, there are many others
also. But there is one big problem for me - they ALL produce BOUND Photo
Books but I want a flexible Photo Book where I can later add or change
pages! Nobody I have found produces a book where pages can be printed
separately to be added when and where required in a book!
I have posted another question in the Forum asking if anyone knows of
such a publisher - especially in the UK, where I live.
The reason I want the ability to insert pages etc is for a number of
reasons. For example, I am producing an historical Photo Book but if
friends send me photos of a past era, I want to scan the photos, put
them on a separate page and then insert that page in the appropriate era
in my book or I may later want to enlarge an old photograph already in
the book and insert the enlargement next to the original etc. etc.
I have printed some pages myself using Photoshop Elements, which was not
the ideal tool as I mentioned before, but when the A4 pages were placed
in clear plastic A4 pockets and inserted in my smart presentation Ring
Binder, the result looked brilliant. But I have hundreds of photographs
and I dread to think what the cost of ink would be if I printed them all
myself, let alone the time!
But I am beginning to think I may after all have to print them myself
and that, as I have several hundred or more, the cost of buying
Lightroom 5 may be worth it in the long run.
Anyway, thanks for coming back to me with your views regarding my
original enquiry.

Hello. I have two version of Office for Mac. 2008 and 2001. I want to delete the 2008 version. If I use the removal tool within the Offie 2008 folder, is there any danger of the 2001 version being removed too. Thanks Dave UK
Do you mean Office 2008 and 2011 or do you really want Office 2001? I think you mean 2011 since Office 2001 wouldn't make much sense.
The Office uninstaller should be able to identify there are two versions and allow you to delete either one or both. -
I recently installed a trail version of a software and now to install the full version i have to delete the trail completely from my mac. How do I do that?

If the new version has an uninstaller run it first. Othewise with Mac OS drag the app to the trash and empty the trash. Do an install if a dialog box asks if you want to replace or keep files with similar names choose replace. -
I downloaded the light version of My First Book of French Alphabets by
Ilmasoft. I did an In-App Purchase of $1.99 to get the full version. Upon returning to the app to use it (it did work after the initial purchase), I still have the light version. I tried reinstalling the app but still have the light version. I have also tried emailing the developer, but no response has been received.
What else can I do? I really like the app. I would even repurchase it to get the full version, but it shows as a purchased item.

Generally, you can switch between the light and full version of OWA, if your web browser support the full set of features. You can do this by checking or clearing the "Use the blind and low vision experience" check box. However, if you use a web browser
that doesn't support the full set of features, Outlook Web App (OWA) will open in light version.

I am trying to save memory on my iPhone 4S/ ios6.
1) Can I back up all photos to icloud and the external hard disk I normally use for photos? If I then delete photos from the iPhone do the get deleted on iCloud?

2. Easiest thing: just move your iPhoto Library to the external
Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
1. Quit iPhoto
2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.

The collection changes a little by the criteria you use to view the books, and you can view them by Title, Author, and Category. So, yes, you can.
The default view is Book view. On the upper right part of the page, you'll see four white blocks - that's the icon for book view. The icon on the right has three white lines; that's where you find Title, Author, and Category view. You can't create folders in any view. -
Older iPhoto books get 'updated' and lose all formatting?
OK, I need help to do a little test please: if you created an iPhoto book a while back (say a year ago), and then updated iPhoto to the latest version 9.4.3: open that old book (no other change, just click to open it) : do you see it normally... or are all the pictures messed up?? I am being told that it is NORMAL to lose the formatting (since the software was updated)... and all that labour of love! Really?? (Warning: please don't open a big project that took hours to do: it's really NO FUN to lose it all x100 pages per book, x20+ books!!)
I haven't experienced that. Is the theme used for the book in the original library still available in the new version of iPhoto? If not then there could be problems. As long as you keep a backup copy of the library there's no risk in trying to update the library to the new version of iPhoto.
Make a copy of your current iPhoto application, put it in a folder and name it iPhoto 8.1.2 or whatever version it is. When you update to the new iPhoto version it will be left alone.
If you have problems then you can always open the old iPhoto version with the Option key held down and select your backup copy of the original library to finish your book.

Why does my caller I.D. photos show as a small thumbnail in the upper right corner and not full screen? I have used both photos I have synced and photos I have taken, yet others have full screen photo I.D.'s. I have looked onlime at several threads and there are no real answers as to what I need to do or am doing wrong.
I am also having this issue.
I've just spoken to someone in the Apple Support Centre who advised me that since the product is in beta, he is unable to assist. I wanted to find out whether someone was able to delete the data for me, or 'reset' the photos app somehow. This apparently cannot be done. He suggested I provide feedback via the feedback page, which I will do, but to be honest doesn't fill me with a lot of confidence in the issue being fixed.
I also deactivated the service and waited the 30 days for the pictures to be deleted - this should have been completed in mid-January. Instead, my iCloud.com Photos page is now showing the photos that should have been deleted as grey squares, just as you described. I am also unable to delete these photos; every time I try, I get the same message about a server error.
I am also unable to disable the service by enabling and then disabling it on my iPhone. Each time I have tried this it hangs on uploading for several hours, with the progress bar not moving at all. When I disable it on my iPhone, the web app remains unchanged.
If anyone has had this issue and has managed to fix it, PLEASE share your wisdom. I am out of patience! -
I have recently updated to iPhoto 9.2.1, more by accident I guess. In the older version of iPhoto when I imported photos and gave the event his own name (for exampample "110723 birthday son 2011"), this name was also used in the "masterfile", so I could find the file by his name ("110723 birthday son 2011") in the "masterfile" on my HD and copy and paste it from there to other computers.
In the new version the file gets stored under a seemingly random number, which does not give me any information about the content.
Is there a way to fix this? Would it be different in apperture?

HaraldI have Iphoto '09, version 8.1.2 (424). I am having an identical problem. All my pictures are imported into Iphoto when I downloaded them from my camera. Until recently, I thought that the pictures were actually saved in the library. Since I need to crop my pictures for the web, and Iphoto doesn't do that, I purchased Photoshop Elements to do that. To my surprise, when I try to get a picture from Iphoto to Photoshop, it can't be done. That was when I realized, after wasting a lot of time, that the photos are not in the Iphoto library.
I started naming the pictures on Iphoto so I had a recognizable file name to open on Photoshop. Couldn't find it. I looked in the Backup folder and the Transfer software folder (I have a Nikon camera), and the names I entered in the Iphoto display, could not be found.
When I am trying to upload a photo to the web, I get the Finder folder showing with an active folder called "Photos" under "Media", which only displays Iphoto and PhotoBooth. This is a folder name that I cannot find in my HD anywhere when I look for it. If I edit a picture with Photoshop, I am not going to save it back to Iphoto (not sure whether it will work properly). How do I get my folder of edited photos to show when I want to upload a picture to the web?
Where (the name of the folder) do I find the pictures I see displayed on the Iphoto library, including any name changes, keywords added, and so on? -
I have a pc that is one year old and the hard drive is crashing we use it only for quick books to run our small business I would like to buy a macmini and install the OS from the pc to the apple product i will not use the pc after, can i use the OS off the pc or do I have to purchase another?
I think you can get Windows 7 for around $99. Install the 64bit version as the 32bit version will not be able to use all your new computer's ram if you have more than about 3.5gb.
Back up your quick books data now before the old hard drive dies. You can copy your data over to your new installation of Windows and quick books.

Is it possible to querry all of the Virtual Instruments that exist in the Front panel of a VI using the ActiveX Server Virtual Instrument Class? I can't seem to find a method or property that returns all the Instruments I may want to control from another application.
I wish not to have to reference to the VI to figure the ControlName by looking at the VI FrontPanel.
But rather have a prop that exposes the strings of all the Instruments.
Example:

There is a VI method called "Get All Control Values" that returns an array of {name,typedesc,flatstrvalue} but this method is not exposed to ActiveX interface, most probably because type descriptors and flattened strings are data format internal to LabVIEW.
However you can make a subVI that inputs the target VI name and returns the name of all controls on the Panel invoking the internal method. Then you call this VI via ActiveX to retrieve the list of Front Panel controls of the target VI.

First..
1. Have you updated from 13 to the 13.1 Update using an opened project's Help Menu/Update. If not, please do so.
2. Do the problems exist if you disable the antivirus and firewall(s)?
3. Are you running the program as Administrator? Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer?
4. Have you refreshed the Online Services using Premiere Elements Editor Edit Menu/Preferences/Web Sharing?
5. Have you updated the Adobe Application Manager?

But, I think that you have enough things going on here to warrant an uninstall, free ccleaner run through (regular cleaner and registry cleaner parts) and then reinstall with the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled.
